Great building to visit whether or not you pay for exhibitions and suitable for all ages. The food provided is excellent and well worth treating yourselves to it. Toilets are clean with baby changing facilities. Closest underground station is Pimlico or St James's Park and just over the bridge from Vauxhall Overground and the bus station. If you have small children with you and its a dry day be sure to take them afterwards to Causton Street Playground which is five minutes walk from the gallery. Interestingly, the Tate Britain is where the first use of the red royal carpet was tragically used to cover up the blood of the chap who designed it as to his horror Britannia's shield was put on the wrong side of her as a result he threw himself off the building just before Queen Victoria's arrival. To cover his blood the staff laid out a long red carpet for Queen Victoria which she was so impressed by she insisted that red carpets be used for her entrance to other events. On the other side of the Embankment are some Henry Moore statues and it is from this part of the Thames that Prisoners of Millbank (POMs) were taken to Australia.

Van Gough gallery very busy so book ahead but the rest of the galleries nice and free with plenty of room to move around. Easy access into the building however limited parking so public transport is recommended.

Some beautiful art.

Some beautiful art.
But I hoped for a greater range of . A small exhibit showing digital/virtual art would be interesting.

Haven't visited Tate Britain in a long time...

From my experience the last time i visited, was pretty good.

The location was great, right beside the River Thames, getting here wasn't that hard neither, the closest stations are Pimlico or Vauxhall, these are London Underground stations and are on the Victoria line.

The place itself was also very nice, seeing it was built around the 1890s, you'd expect the style and look to be a certain way, which it is.

The works that are on display are priceless, seeing it has no entry fee, it needs to be seen at least once in your life.

Recommended.

A wonderful structure, housing magnificent pieces of art. With a lovely restaurant area and a large gift shop although I did find the gift shop expensive in comparison to other art galleries gift shops in London. We visited the van gogh exhibit on this occasion, we would certainly visit again if the right exhibition came up however, It's certainly not my favourite gallery, as it's quite pretentious and the staff are nowhere near as friendly.

If you are found of the works of William Turner and of Henry Moore, you'll find a large collection of these works here. But Moore knew that less is more; at the contrary, Tate Britain thinks that more is more; so too many works are put too close to each other, without respect for the artists.

I have already seen much better works of Francis Bacon (p.e. in S.M.A.K. in Gent). 2 beautiful paintings of Bridget Riley. The exhibition of Barbara Hepworth was rather interesting.

Though I went to the wrong Tate I was aiming for Picasso in the other place. But I used the cloakroom and had a nice meal.

But I'm familiar with it from previous visits and definitely five stars plus.

Staff is very kind , exhibition of Van Gogh was gorgeous. Always learning something new over VGogh. Although sold out for the week we got tickets at the museum in the morning. Half an hour before opening is sufficient.

It was such an amazing experiencie! I learnt a lot, and saw the magnificent work from J. William Turner. Fell in love with TATE. People in the entrance and staff were helpful and kind. I totally recomend it! <3

Great exhibitions overall. Good permanent exhibition and the temporary ones are usually really good as well. Two different restaurants to choose from, one better for a quick bite, and less expensive, and a proper restaurant as well, a bit more pricy. Two shops with a lot of books and other materials, including for kids. Worth the money to be a Tate member and visit frequently.

Famous in particular for its collection of paintings by Turner (although I am still waiting for him to come back and finish them off). My favourite painting here is the Snack Bar by Edward Burra.

Don Mccullin's retrospective was breathtaking and a sharp reminder of how the skill of capture and processing in photography truly is an art.
The only thing that spoiled an otherwise excellent exhibition were the raised voices of opinionated individuals who chose to wander the gallery at random treating the whole event like a passage of play waiting for their child after school in the school playground, or at the bar after work. Some respect for those who paid full fare for this please [I'm guessing they were regulars who live nearby and have membership, I'm unlucky enough to have either] Speech is silver; silence is golden.

Museum of great interest for the section dedicated to the painter Turner and for modern art installations. I was intrigued by the augmented reality experiences proposed by Facebook and Tate at the beginning of July 2019 on 8 paintings and I appreciated the app that offers an audio guide in AR. Recommended!

Another of my favourites! Like modern is a great place to visit, more than once, and very well structured. It is less crowded than other museums but the collections are amazing, and very well positioned. A must!

Great Art in a gorgeous building with amazing architectural spaces. The examples of British Art, from 1545 to the present day, might be beautiful, historic or challenging, but they are always interesting. Tate Britain's temporary exhibitions are uniformly excellent and they seem to be perfectionists in displaying the Art. Highly recommended!

Only visited for the Turner and Constable displays, which are pretty generous. There are many more exhibitions for which we didn't have enough time to visit, yet they did seem interesting

Especially recommended for all art lovers. Large section dedicated to the Pre-Raphaelites. With a large collection of paintings by William Turner, up to the sculptures of Henry Moore. Fantastic triptych by Francis Bacon.
