Great place for art lovers! Explore and be inspired!
Went to see the VanGough paintings and I was disappointed .The lighting was poor , also I think Tate Britain displays Art to attract visitors from abroad .
For those of you who are fond of british art. I really enjoyed my visit and I will come back for sure.
Went to the queer art exhibition, very interesting art
Opened in 1897, Tate Britain is the oldest gallery in the Tate group. It contains some of Britain's most iconic works from the Modern era. Definitely worth seeing.
Excellent 10 min lecture before the Ophelia painting.
Extraordinary gallery don't miss it. Try to pick some paintings to spend time with rather than see everything you'll appreciate them more.
Great exhibit on Van Gogh but wished they had more of his more popular artwork
One of the most important museums in the world!!! The curatorial story often produces profound refection on British cultural meaning, and by extension provides access to ideas and concepts about the broader world we live in. Must see, and best to engage with the thinking that's gone into selection and curation.
If you are an art lover, you will definitely enjoy the visit to Tate. You may or may not like that kind of art, but it is certainly a mandatory stop
An art gallery with plenty of free art to view as well as paid exhibitions in a wonderful building
Dusty presentation, like too many museums in London. Prefer the Wallace Collection.
To pass the time it is very entertaining, there are incredible paintings and sculptures. There are rooms with screenings of short films by the artists. Admission is free.
Had a private tour of All too human: Bacon, Freud and a Century of Painting Life. Absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable staff. Tickets need to be purchased by non members but I was fortunate that my company is an art patron so did not have to pay. Certainly worth whatever they cost. Got to know artists I haven't met before. It was an amazing start to the morning. No pictures allowed so I took some of the free parts of the museum. Tate Britain is worth visiting even if you can't go to the paid exhibitions.
One of the most interesting galleries in London, has a nice souvenir shop
Had a wonderful experience here. Staff were really kind, helpful and nice. Went to see the Steve McQueen exhibition which was beautifully presented. Took children with me as well and staff were really helpful and made sure we knew what activities they had for children. Really good day out, nice little cafe here as well and plenty of seating. Easy to get to from Pimlico station and easy bus routes to Victoria and Leicester Square. Kids enjoyed it as well as adults. Entry is free of charge but there are exhibitions which do require tickets and payment. Overall a good day out.
For the exhibition I saw. Too many people and little ventilation
ALWAYS a pleasure. Outstanding exhibitions both permanent and special. Members lounge one of the best.
Lovely free art museum perfect as part of an afternoon stroll or as a day trip for those more art inclined. There is a place to eat and plenty of places to sit and ponder the paintings. Clean and relaxing.
Good exhibits in a classic setting.
Here you can enjoy British golden age paintings and the place has a lot of Turner. The special exhibition we saw was really good, it gave glimpses into complex history, while at the same time being able to show the developments in society at large. Recommended.
It is marvelous place to enjoy the British art from historical to modan. There are many arts in the gallery; especially the gallery of Turner is beautiful and you can see lovely pictures. The museum shop is nice as well.
The building itself is also beautiful. My favourite is a first floor of the gallery which has Rossetti and John Everett Millais.
I recommend to go Tate Britain Sunday morning after walking and having breakfast in Pimlico area.
Gorgeous gallery with an amazing selection of art. The cafe is also lovely.
Best of British art. Quiet location away from the West-end crush.
Prints and drawings room are particularly helpful and friendly, wonderful they are so accessible for the pieces not on display. Top marks.
Love the gallery so ! There's always something going on. Great location and collections! The staff are always more then helpful and friendly ... Security are always sweet.
Would definitely recommend if your visiting London or just a place to pop by and visit.
There wifi and a great cafe if you need to get any work done. Awesll as having a designated area for young creatives.
I often visit for the late at Tate seires they host once a month on a Friday.
Where they showcase a range of activities, exhibition, workshops etc....
And most importantly it's free to public !
It's a must visit, you'll thank me later :)
Wander through the paintings that show the history of art in Britain. From the pre raphaelite movement to modern works, the museum boasts a beautiful collection of painting from Millias, Turner, Hunt and much more.
Lovely exhibitions in well sized galleries. There's also a lot of artworks to see in the public galleries. Rather nice member's room as well. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent art exhibits. I would recommend a visit to Tate Britain every time you visit London. Cafe has a great variety of food and drink.
It is a gorgeous building and houses some amazing art. I was blown away after seeing some of these paintings 30 years ago in art class textbooks, then to see some of Turner's works in person was mind blowing. Some of his art is half the size of not larger than some London bedrooms..
"All too Human"is an extraordinary exhibition, a must see. Freud, Bacon, Auerbach, Rego...
