The Van Gogh exhibition is great, and wasn't too busy... The restaurant is stunning, love the van Gogh paired beer as well.

This museum is a sanctuary for the art lovers. I find it less busy that the National Galleries. The architecture is beautiful. There is always a nice exhibition happening. Also ask help on what to do to use an instagram filter to bring some of the paintings to life.
Viewed William Blake expo. Well presented. Shop with lots of interesting items. Beautiful building, easy to get to.
It is not really too well signposted to get to. Other then that it has an option for free entries and paid exhibits. Its well suited for any abilities.
Interesting site for art lovers. Easy access by C10 bus service ( stop: Tate Britain). Be ready for long walk along the galleries (about 2-3 hours). You can have a rest in a reastaurant on ground floor. After one hour of exploration you can feel the tirednes bec there is veeery poor ventilation in the building.
Nice chilled couple of hours for the cost of a donation
Came here with my Mum to see the recent Lowry exhibition; we didn't have a great amount of time but kept getting pulled around the museum by the force of the art: "Look at this one! At this one!" Exhibitions are well curated; and this place has some great pieces in it's long term galleries. Will definitely be back at some point in the future.
World-class mecca for British art. Make sure to see the Pre-raphaelite collection .
We went to see the Van Gogh exhibition, was rather disappointed. The price of the tickets were, in my opinion, a bit expensive for the small amount of his works on display
One of the jewels in London's crown. Full of treasures. Lots of room. Very relaxing. And free
Lovely architecture with some great contemporary pieces along with more traditional artworks
Tate Britain is part of a network of Tate museums along with Modern (London), Liverpool and St Ives.
Born in 1897 by will of Sir Henry Tate is the oldest of the locations, and over time it has been identified with different names, National Gallery of British Art, Tate Gallery and since 2000 Tate Britain following the inauguration of the Tate Modern which hosts from then the works of modern art.
Tate Britain currently offers mainly English works of art from 1500 to today with a large contribution of paintings by J. M. W. Turner, temporary exhibitions, installations and interesting lessons / discussions curated by experts on specific selected works lasting half an hour.
Admission to permanent exhibitions is free, while temporary exhibitions are usually paid.
Was literally one of the first in. Near empty gallery. Perfect.
Great place to see art and culture on a budget plenty you can see free
Fantastic variety of art housed under classical architecture
A must-see when visiting London. Plan several days if you want to see everything.
Recommend a visit to anyone, you cannot go wrong with Tate Britain!
Impressive Blake show and collection with superlative works
Quite possibly my favourite gallery. The resident Turner exhibition is fantastic
Really great gallery. I loved the layout and the grouping via themes rather than eras and movements.
Personally I prefer it to the National Gallery, which is much bigger and takes longer to get around.
One of London's landmark museums. You have to pay to get in, but it's usually worth it
Great art. Absolutely love the Turner exhibit. His vision and expression of light has to be seen.
Liked to visit. There are a fairly amount of stuff that you can see without having to pay for it. But if you do decide to pay that extra bit, you get the guided tour and you get to see pretty amazing collections. Accessible. Very clean. Nice staff, very helpful. Has a view straight into the Thames as you come out the front door, so it's lovely.
Recommend the guided tours. Some guides are better than others but they help you appreciate the art from a different perspective. Overall great gallery.
An amazing museum to visit. It is a beautiful place, with amazing artwork and the best thing about it are the Late Tate nights, where they close at 21h30 and have Djs and live music.
Magnificent ! Excellent staff, helpful above & beyond. The art speaks for itself, a true National Treasure.
A must in London Very good exhibition of Henry Moore
A pleasant and sometimes surprising visit. Tate Britain worth a visit especially as it is free entry.
One of the best museums in town. Don Mccullin exhibition is definitely worth the queue.
Love every corner of this museum. Great exhibition and nice small cafeteria (members cantina)
What a fantastic place to visit with some wonderful exhibits on right now...if you enjoy visiting art galleries think of becoming a member great saving.
Yes! Great one. Must visit. After you can walk along the river to enjoy the views of river Thames
Fantastic timeline through van Gogh's life.....learnt a few things I didn't know about him......worth the visit whether you appreciate art or not.
Beautiful museum and beautiful works of art. To visit without a doubt
The original tate building is lovely to see in itself and has a good location along the river. Pimlico tube station is 5 minutes away or there's the scenic route from Westminster station where you can take in Big Ben, the houses of parliament and Victoria Gardens, along with walking along embankment.
I've found the special exhibitions put on here are often excellent. The All Too Human exhibition they currently have on (until August 2018) is well considered, laid out and broad in terms of artists and artwork included, which also has more modern artists work. The shop is well stocked with a good range, some of which is quite expensive for what it is but other stuff is reasonably priced. There are plenty of spaces to sit within the museum and rest whilst admiring the artwork.
Wonderful place to be...great paintings and fun to be inside of this architecture
A wonderful art museum displaying works of art of a few collections and a diverse range of artists. It spans two floors and there's a cafe on the ground floor. It is comfortably well lit inside by a combination of ceiling and natural skylight from the wonderfully high ceilings.
My favourite art venue. Beautiful paintings. Exhibitions have become very expensive recently.
Pre- Raphaelite room is awesome. Fantastic lighting. Paintings and sculptures so much better than the Tate Modern. Never disappointed. Excellent, reasonably priced books in shop.
Aubrey Beardsley exhibition is spectacular. A fascinating insight into his work and life.
Awesome free gallery! Donate generously or buy lots of things in their shop!
Great turner collection and a wonderful afternoon of culture.
Lots of lovely paintings to look at. Free entertainment to fill an empty afternoon.
wonderful , free art gallery where you can see classic Art like Turner , Constable etc
Went to Van Gough exhibition and spent a good 3 hours there.
It is a quiet museum, which houses the largest exhibition in the world of Turner, which personally fascinates me. I mainly recommend it for this.
Excellent, great art gallery. Highlights include, Turner gallery, lady of Shallot and Ophelia. The building itself is pretty cool, see photo. And the cream teas are nice too. Would recommend as a place to visit in London.
Great place to visit the free hourly tours are excellent.
One of the better London museums but not the most visited which is a shame. Mainly as it is a bit further out of the way
Nice collection of paintings and sculptures by British artists. It is worth visiting, the more that the entrance is free.
Some of my favourite pieces of British art, housed in a beautiful Victorian gallery. The on-site cafe is excellent also.
A few years back, just before the very first visit to Tate in its Britain flavor, I was wondering what's to see and do in there for the over six hours available on that occasion.
A few days ago, during the 7th or 8th visit there I had a pretty clear idea what I was going to focus on for the 9th. And counting.
Free access. Small donation always welcome, appreciated, and very much deserved.
With all the amazing museums to visit in London, this one is probably worth giving a miss. I didn't find the exhibitions engaging, and it's nothing compared to the National Gallery or Tate Modern. #Oktoberwurst
Excellent gallery. Most of it free. Lousy cup of tea in cafe.
...incredible once-in-a-lifetime collection of William Blake...inspired, sublime, divine art...
Great gallery. Had a couple of hours free and popped in. Didn't do any of the paid exhibits but did the journey through time.
Really interesting and nicely laid out with dates on the floor to help orientate you. Following a chronological line really helps you appreciate how taste in art changed.
As always in a gallery you can appreciate the skill of the brush strokes of a painting far more than just looking at a photo of a painting.
Most rooms have seats so you can sit and appreciate the artworks. Lots of staff to answer questions and you can attend guided discussions about key works.
Well worth a visit and I will go back and do more.
Always great. Saw the Burne Jones exhibition today, outstanding. Fascinating and well-curated. A must see
Love love. Great art in a great building. Bacon's triptych is the highlight.
