Superb place to visit and spend a day viewing beautifuL art and history. The surroundings are just perfect to relax and enjoy your day. Always multiple visits to this gallery as so much to see
Although overshadowed by the newer Tate Modern the original Tate is still an essential stop for any art lover.
Wonderful building with gorgeous art deco staircase and comfortable members' room. Whole afternoon spent at the enthralling Blake exhibition Looming foward to next visit
Excellent place to see. Allow 4 hrs at least to see everything. Download the App. highly recommended.
Beautiful place, excellent exhibitions and wonderful permanent collection. Welcoming, spacious, excellent shop (esp for books, both art books and children's books).
A great museum. Always worth spending an hour or two here.
Worth going just to eat at the Whistler Dining Room. The paintings are an additional bonus. Try the Swaydale Lamb.
Vincent and and Britain is a tremendous exhibition. I would definitely recommend using the audio guide as there is so much more information. Having a long time love of Vincent's art I heartily recommend it to you.
Calming Intesting uplifting engaging. Very worthwhile
Slightly less awesome than Southbank, this is still a place worth visiting over and over again. Tate is probably the most visitor friendly setup in town. Don't neglect the permanent collections just because they have great one off shows. At least visit Mrs Morris eating a pomegranate, and enjoy the unrivalled Pre-Raphaelite collection.
Such amazing artwork here. Definitely recommend. It's a place that you'll likely have repeat visits. Social distance can be done easily and, although the general galleries are free, you'll need to prebook a slot - but there was unlimited availability when we there on a Sunday.
This is the background of the book "Happy Art Museum" by children's favorite author Anthony Browne. It is also an art museum where Anthony Brown actually became an artist. It's so nice to read and read books with your child when you visit. It was good to sit in front of the easel in front of the painting and come back for a while, and it was the best place in London for my family because it was relatively less famous but cozy and good.
I could not buy tickets for the special exhibition in Gogh, but I was able to buy it easily. The price is also 22 pounds like bookings.
David Hockney's bigger impression is on display in Seoul.
Brilliant exhibitions and ambience. Let down by a restaurant that was too busy and overpriced.
Lovely museum, lots of great art and history and activities to do here.
One of the best museums in London, it includes typical exhibition's of high quality. This week I went to an exhibition on van Gogh, where I learnt about his relationship with London (where he worked at an art gallery in covent garden before pursuing a career in painting) as well the plethora of British artists who were inspired by his legacy over the years. Tate Britain always provides great experiences for locals like myself, as well as visitors.
Tate isn't even a British name so I don't know where u got that from.
Inspired by a video in a gallery, my 5-year old, who, up to this point had been reluctant to draw anything except trains, spent a happy hour drawing at an easel, surrounded by the World's finest art.
Great museum! Especially Lisa Brice s exhibition Also there is a small cafe, highly recommended on sunny days when you can enjoy your coffee outside.
Love this art gallery, it shows British art chronologically. Beautiful works of art!
Fabulous collections of work and a lovely members room. Very elegant
Beautiful sometimes neglected for the National but not to be underestimated. There is a rich collection of English portraits from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. Plus free .....
Singularly worst curated museum I have ever been to. Not even worth the free admission. One gets the impression that the curator is jealous of the Tate Modern AND hates anything popular. Whole rooms devoted to modern performance pieces yet All the pre-Raphaelites are smashed into one tiny crowded room. The most fantastic pieces by the most famous artists are relegated to wall space 20 feet off the floor with such reflective glass that you are blinded and the piece is impossible to enjoy. Avoid avoid avoid and wait for these pieces to go on travelling exhibit to be lovingly displayed at a modicum of eye level.
The facade's christmas decoration lights is basically boring. Many examples of outrageously wonderful neon, led and other light sources are common in housing estates and roads across London. They have been for twenty years and more. It would have been more interesting to project images of these examples on the facade, peoples festive art rather than this expensive poor relation.
A museum in which you can see many Britain 's works of art. The entrance is free except for some expositions. I guess it is a good place to visit if you like art.
A wonderful gallery. All exhibits have good information and the staff do regular 10 minute talks on different works of art which are fabulous. Just attended the William Blake exhibition there, highly recommended.
We went to see the Steve McQueen exhibition where my daughter's school was pictured. Great exhibition and great experience
Familiar, or not, JMW Turner is a huge and amazing painter, a lift virtuoso in "games" light on canvas. Every visit to London should include a visit to the wonderful collection of his paintings in Tate UK.
His collections can always be added to the National Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum to visit.
Found Tate Britain very interesting certainly a good place to visit during trip to London.
Amazing place, amazing opportunity to have contact with culture, to find connections with the past. Recommended.
I love this museum. I'm a big fan of John Constable's artworks and every time I visit the Tate I spend hours before them. The museum is quite, clean (and the shop is amazing!).
The old paintings are amazing but didn't think much of the modern art.
Went to the Pre-Raphaelite exhibition amazing paintings! Very busy though.
Very high quality. An impressive exhibition by William Blake the late 18th century author and painter. Worth every moment. The museum's collection is rich with uniqueness about British artists from a long history to contemporary works. Recommended for British art lovers.
An old favorite place, visited numerous times as the artworks are just so wonderful. The latest exhibition Mike Nelson-Asset Strippers is superb but the collection of pre raphaelite paintings will always remain my favourite. Can't wait to see the fabulous William Blake exhibition which commenced this week.Yo!
Loved the tacky-arty exterior lights! Stunning Henry Moore collection...and very nice triple chocolate cake in the cafe too! Wonderful building to house all this.
Fantastic gallery. Been for a couple of exhibitions (Barbara Hepworth and David Hockney) which were very good (although can get a little crowded). Good nearby bus links and not too far from the underground (Westminster).
What to say? A fabulous museum! Divided into decades starting from the 18th century, all the greatest English artists are present. A beautiful journey through many wonderful rooms. Obligatory stop if you are in London.
It is worth the visit, especially since you will see a lot of British art, from the modern to the classic and the best price, for free! Zero !
The free tours are wonderful and well worth attending!
Excellent .should charge entry fee to help with maintenance
Always a pleasure to visit. I like the redesigned cafe with outside seating and my flat white and pain au chocolat were top notch. The permanent collection is wonderful and free to see and the temporary exhibitions are always interesting. We have an Art Fund card which halves the entry cost.
I always love visiting Tate museum whilst in London. Great place, free entrance. The paid exhibitions are always very interesting as well.
Excellent exhibitions and permanent exhibits. Historic interiors updated.
Cafe in basement good for a snack and rest.
Went as part of Pride! Celebrating Gay Art and artists. Good exhibition, informative, enlightening and interesting. love the Tate Britain, have been many times and never gets old. Knowledgeable staff and helpful staff. Highly recommended!!
Makes me realise just how privileged I am being a Londoner and having some of the best museums in the world
A beautiful museum to visit! Henri Moore and pre-raphaelites admirer's will be amazed! By not being in an overcrowded area, a visit in the museum constitutes a lovely walk around the neighborhood combined with the joy of seeing a satisfying selection of art. Additionally by not being overcrowded, the museum offers the opportunity to walk undisturbed and free amongst works of art!
Really enjoyed the Squash and All Too Human. Lovely building and friendly staff
A spellbinding journey through the history of British art
My first visit to this art gallery. A wide selection of British paintings and sculpture. The exhibition covers art from the mid sixteenth century to the present day.
When visiting London, you must not miss this museum!
what a great painters like William Malford Turner are in this place and what kind of cura tors for their promotion not giving attention to living painters, after all they are right its the money in our days and the Act they call painting..Look the nowadays Turner prizes and you understand what is behind :marketing !from a painter since he was 4 years old and 72 now..
Not a bad way to pass away a few hours although it would be better if you were a fan of modern art
A great, free art gallery. House of a Waterhouse, a whole heap of Turner and some William Blake. Highly recommended. Relax and enjoy.
Great place to visit. Children can learn a lot and be inspired. Recommend for family day out. Steve McQueen's exhibition was amazing.
Beautiful historical building. Provides an interesting time of art through the ages. Children may find some periods monotonous. Worthwhile experience for a lover of classical art to the present day.
I went here for Van gogh exhibition!
Was really good, but The transportation is not good.
Well was worth it that I ve been here :)
The place is very beautiful. Beautiful works and it's free
Very helpful staff and volunteers. Well curated exhibitions
Great space to walk around even with kids, great value, and nice cafe.
Just adopted Euan Uglow as my new hero. Why no postcards?
I have visited Tate Britain many times and I love it there. The art is very interesting and I've never seen a bad exhibition.
Is very big and free, art of all kind. You can pay for anothers exibitions too
Amazing gallery filled with hundreds of years of art history from some of the world's most influential artists. The Turner exhibition is fantastic for all fans of his work. There's also a great cafe and resteraunt when you need to recharge the batteries. Even though it's free to enter it's well worth the suggested donation.
Beautiful Works of Art from so many genres...great bookshop...Cafe a bit pricey..but my daughter and I had a Wonderful day!!
A collection of works by the former Raphael School and Turner.
Been here a few times and would definitely go again
