Tampa Improv Festival Review

I have only bought tickets twice (Iglesias and Joe Koy), but have "won" many free tickets through their texting signup sheet as well as actually winning tickets (H. Williams) through their facebook page. Fun place to go. Food and drinks are pricey for what they are. No refills on sodas unless you buy the unlimited drink souvenir rocks glass (but it takes awhile to get refills). Also kind of sucks when you go with your significant other and have to sit with strangers at a very tight table.

Was not a fan. Staff was polite and professional though.

I've been to the improv several times and I have never had a bad experience.

I had a blast at the show I went to. I do have to say the servers and employees are pretty miserable but once you look past that, the actual venue is beautiful and you're guaranteed a good time.

I really like this place. I haven't been to many comedy clubs but this place seems pretty cool. I've only been here twice to see Bert Kreischer, and really liked it. I think I prefer to sit up stairs over down stairs. The place is a decent size,but has a nice personal feel to it. I need to return to see some other comics...

Haven't seen the show yet but so far the service sucks... Had a Groupon and they said they ran out of "Groupon seats" so we paid full price. Told us to be here at 9:45 sharp for a show that starts at 10:30 to be seated. We rushed through dinner to get back to the theatre and have been waiting in line 55 min... We've been here before and liked the shows, but wouldn't recommend after this experience... Btw, when we were finally seated, half of the club was empty. I find it hard to believe they ran out of Groupon seats.

The wait staff did not speak or acknowledge our presence. They serviced the person on each side of us but skipped over us time and time again. As much money as I spent Going to comedy shows there I am so disappointed in the Improv

The only reason no give stars is because the wait for our show with Kountry took so long to start!! We waited outside in line for over an hour and nearly a half that my feet hurt. It was a second date. However when we did finally get in it was a great, entertaining show with Kountry and the other artists so it was kind of worth it...somewhat.

I had a blast date night, Damon Williams was so funny.

Ive been going to the Tampa Improv for years, and the acts as well as the service keep getting better and better. From the time I call to make a reservation, to the moment I actually sit down to watch the show, the staff is always on point. Sure, every once in awhile you get a few mishaps but overall, Id go here anyday over Side Splitters. The box office staff at the Tampa Improv is wonderful. They talk to you like a human being, and when you come to the booth they're so prompt to get you in, but also do it with a smile. They make you feel welcome, and will help you with any question,comment, or concern you may have. The wait staff are all great. They treat you good, joke around with you, and make you feel comfortable. Those are the things that keep me coming back time after time. Unlike Side Splitters. Thanks Tampa Improv , and job well done! Way to beat the competition!

Went to see Shuler King, they had a power failure and no backup generator.

Clean and the food was pretty good. Amazing cheese sticks!

It's okay, way to small to fit the amount of people they try to fit. Food just eh. Drinks are good tho

Great stand up comedy. Restrooms need to be updated with additional stalls. After a show one can be in line forever because the restroom is single stall

Love this place. We saw Bruce Bruce the last time and really enjoyed it. I dont order food or drinks because its too expensive for me but the entertainment is great

Have well known comedians attend. Great food n the staff is nice

the wood chairs are painful to sit in, sound isn't the best and very cramped

actually horrible. don't come here. super expensive for the low quality and service. just spend your time and money somewhere else save yourself

First time attending the Improv and it will surely be my last. The show itself was great but the service and food was terrible. "Fast service" should not be used to describe the service here unless it's opposite day. Took about an hour and a half for us to get our drinks AFTER being seated and the show had already started; one person in our party got their food long before we did but then waited 25 minutes to be able to eat because utensils aren't brought out with your meal and servers here aren't diligent enough to ensure you have what you need. The rest of our party's food wasn't brought out until 10 minutes before the end of the show and to add insult to injury, all the food was cold, inedible and a complete waste of money. Never again.

Came to see one of my favorites, Eddie Griffin. He was hilarious! But, the service was terrible. I waited nearly an HOUR for a Dr. Pepper! I'm gonna give it another try so hopefully we'll have better service.

Too crowded I hate that they only have 4 seat tables so if it's just you and another you have to sit with random people. Food and drinks are overpriced, eat before you go. Honestly only time I ever go is if it's a big headliner I know is funny! But tickets prices are the only reasonably priced item

They pack you in there like sardines and the food is $$$$ for what you get.... but they do bring in some pretty good acts. I've been there for several shows and will be back for more.

This place is the most racist place against white people. They called my friends out and cheered for white people to be capacitated.

The act was awesome. Didn't like the fact we had to wait almost 30-40 minutes for them to start. The Miami vice drink was awesome... just an fyi stiring it up before sipping because I got a taste full of alcohol

Comedy was great, but show time was at 10:00pm. We waited outside in the heat for 30 minutes after show was suppose to start. When you purchase tickets they tell you be here an hour before hand. To do what stand outside in the heat. Horrible!!!!!!

Just had a really good experience at Improv. Entertainment was top notch with TC Tahoe. Service was excellent but food was not real hot. They also need to greatly expand their local craft beer selection. Easy parking.

Nice comedy club...unfortunately the headliner was not funny but the host was. Get there early as seats fill fast due to all the people getting free tickets

Really great experience! I see myself going back. The Comedian was original and I love the way he connected with what's going on at the moment!

The Comedy show was great. The food was mediocre. The floor was sticky carpet needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Friendly staff, always a good show. Only issue would be the excessive mix up with dining and always getting the wrong food or not getting it at all on several different occasions.

What a great venue as it was my first time there. We all loved it and the service and food were great. Best comedy club and food combination to date. I would visit again. Top notch

We have a great time saw Earthquake and he was great. Laugh the while time. Needed that with all the madness going on.

Improv is a small club that attracts great acts. The venue is in a good location in Centro Ybor close to the parking garage which is nice.

The downside is the seating, they cram people in.

Always a good laugh. The lineup features young comics trying to make their mark. In addition, they have headliners on a weekly basis.

Comedians were good However the Service was not great I feel personally this should be mention at the time of purchase I realize we got their a little late but they were still waiting on table and when we attempted to get their attention we were straight ignore therefore this qualified bad service on that they did not offer water nor and when the waitress finally came over after me raising my voice she ask if we wanted to order drinks I said No we would like to order food and she stated the kitchen was closed 30 mins ago which it does not state that on the tickets or web site and that is where improvement could be made.I Mention to the Manager he apologize . Nothing else was offer not even tickets or drink only thing was he would refer thid to the general manager. We left and ended up at The Chophouse where the service was excellent. The rating is for The Comedian that I am about to post.

Great improv! Reasonable price wise. Definitely worth a visit.

Best place for comedy! No required minimum drink purchase, small cozy venue with all good sound and views. You are seated in order of arrival, so get there early if you want to sit up front.
