Tacofino has been a staple for me in my time in Vancouver. The food is always spectacular, and impresses everyone I bring. The service is pretty good too. Even when I show up near closing, they are extremely accommodating and kind. That being said, it can be a little pricey, but I genuinely think it's worth a visit, to try out one of the best spots in Vancouver!

Wow, one of the best taco places I've been to!!! The food was quick, our server was great, and everything tasted amazing! We got the nachos and wings to start, both great and lot of food, you could almost just get those and be full! We then got the Al Pastor, Chicken, and Fish tacos and again, so much flavour and so yummy! The drink menu was also memorable, I should have gotten more than two! You will not be disappointed if you come here, great atmosphere in historic Gastown!

I've been a Tacofino fan for a few years, after eating at the original food truck on Tofino. This place captures all of their magic, with friendly service, excellent food, and great beer. I loved the Fish Taco and the Pork Taco!

By far the best tacos I've ever had. This place is definitely doing things right. I've had their fish tacos, chicken tacos, and nachos; they've all been extremely good everytime. I highly recommend that you try tacofino atleast once. Their tacos have literally become my benchmark when rating tacos from other places. Oh and one there thing, one side of the restaurant is take out only and the other side is dine in.

The service was incredibly fast and everything we tried was absolutely scrumptious. Only thing... This place gets very crowded so plan to get there right at opening or you might have to wait a while for a table to open up

Me and my girlfriend love this place. We take out burritos quite often and eventually we stop to dine in. Good quality food! Our favourite is the fish burrito and the nachos are delicious. Music is loud inside but nothing that makes me overwhelmed. Service was always on point. During the summer it is great to have a drink on the patio! Expect to wait if you go there during peak times. Cheers

Let s get the good stuff out of the way first. This is the best taco joint in Vancouver, no exceptions. The crispy chicken is unbelievably good, every other taco is fantastic, and there s no overwhelming toppings or flavours accompanying the featured meat of whichever taco you get. You can t go wrong with anything on the taco menu. (Remember, taco menu. The ceviche is a disappointing two spoon portion, and the ceasar salad is ridiculous and resembles nothing like a Caesar...pomegranate seeds? Kale? Really?)

However, there are a couple of things that I can t seem to get over. Every time I decide to eat in gastown I somehow end up at Tacofino (for the above mentioned taco reasons) but every time I am reminded at how terrible the tortilla chips are, and how loud the place is in the evenings. Every time I visit it seems like the chips are stale, undercooked, or in some way imperfect. This isn t really excusable in a Mexican restaurant. Tortilla chips aren t exactly hard to make or keep fresh. You folks need to up your chip game, because I m consistently disappointed when I order any of the fantastic dips that come with the tortillas...please please do something about this....and do something about the music. This is a great place to converse, somewhere that s social and also intimate, so turn down the music and do something to reduce the echo. It s really tough to have a conversation over everyone else yelling over the music. Don t worry, we ll still have a good time!

One star off for each of those issues. I ll keep coming back, of course....But I want this place to be even better.

Everything about this place was pretty great, except for the service. The greeters or hosts largely ignored our group for a while, even though it wasn't very busy.

It's a shame that the food is so good that I allow myself to be treated that way.

AMAZING restaurant

AMAZING restaurant
Fish Tacos are the best I ever tried in my life
Also, very nice atmosphere
Prices are really competitive, I recommend to anybody !

It seemed they wanted to be different and creative with their taco flavors but some of their flavors were either off or just weird. I prefer traditional tacos with nicely cooked meats that are well seasoned.

Came here with a coworker who wanted to introduce me to "some of the best lower mainland tacos".

I had been to mexico a couple of times so the standard was set pretty high.

We started with Nachos. The nachos were absolutely delicious, piled high with properly proportioned toppings like feta, jalapenos, and proper salsa. Crispy nachos were in reality fried pieces of fresh corn tortilla, still warm and glistening.

The tacos, while not the same tasting as some of the ones I had in mexico, were so refined and clean and authentic. Real tortilla, fresh ingredients, served at the right time made for a delicious Mexican experience.

If only the prices were the same as in Mexico. I saw 40 tacos for 100 pesos in Mexico. THATS SEVEN DOLLARS. came with one drink.

Always a go to place haven t been here in a while since I moved to mission was good to be back not only for the food but the staff here make you feel at home also ran into friends there it turned from lunch to lol dinner real quick after drinks and convo and we still didn t want to leave any how I know you know the food is great here but pay attention the the people that run it there so much fun

I used to love this place when it was just a food truck in Tofino. It's since gotten so popular, we've seen the prices of their food go from reasonably priced to somewhat ridiculous considering you're essentially just buying tacos. The food is good but strays far away from traditional Mexican food which is fine but the prices don't reflect the quality or portions. I think if they are to charge as much as they do, they should provide better meals, portions and presentation.

We drove across the city for fish tacos! This place did not disappoint! Long wait at dinner time for a seat but the take out side was fast and delicious!! I would recommend this place to any taco lover!!

We had a reservation and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. We left and came back 45 minutes later only to be told there were still 6 tables ahead of us. The food is so/so. It s a great option for vegetarians/vegans. The service is a bit amateur and this is a bit of a hipster scene.

Delicious on stick! One of the best patios in Vancouver (ignore the needles stuck in the fence - yes for real). Great cocktails. One time they lost our order, gave us free drinks and food to apologize, great service. Happy hour has awesome options.

I came on an impromptu visit to Vancouver and felt it crucial that I eat a fish taco while there. Google searches revealed multiple contenders so I chose this one at random. Upon arrival the restaurant was visually appealing, the front-side of the restaurant was an area where you can order take out, with the back of the restaurant being the main, sit-down area. Unfortunately it was a Thursday night in a trendy area of Vancouver and the wait was 45 minutes, we were hungry, and not willing to wait. The dine in area of the restaurant was attractive and looked fun, but was very loud.

We traipsed back out to the take-out area and ordered a fish taco for each of us. Prices were probably pretty reasonable for a large Canadian city. The fish was very nicely breaded and fried, breading was not too heavy nor was the fish greasy. The slaw on top was really quite good as well. Overall it was an above average taco; however I was underwhelmed by the tortilla. I don t think it was a homemade tortilla, definitely tasted mass produced and hadn t even benefitted from a minute on a grill to warm/crisp up.

Overall: I did like this taco and I would love to go back to Tacofino and try some other dishes. This was definitely an above average taco but it was far from the best taco I ve had. I would recommend checking this joint out, particularly if you are able to avoid 45 minute waits!!

Absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere, great service, great food. I tried the crispy chicken taco and steak taco and can't decide which I liked better. Also split some chips and dips (will say the roasted tomato cashew wasn't my favourite but still not bad). Super pleased and would come back 100%

Overrated pricey tacos that are far from what you get when in Mexico D.F., served cold and with dried limes for you to squeeze in.

Not to mention the portion size.

One thing I have to give it to them, the guacamole was very good and close to a Mexican original.

I'd skip it and just go to a Japadog near you.
