Food was great. Restaurant was clean and open aired. The drinks were tart and TASTY! We have eaten at the OG good truck in Tofino many times. When we asked how to do the QR code reader for the menu, the server said "Oh you don't have iphones" and they left. No help at all. We had to ask another server for paper menus.
Our only disappointment with this restaurant was the music. It was an electronic ambient kind of groove. Which is not our groove. We thought a latin/baja/surf music would have been a home run. Still its a happy 4 star visit. I will happily wait go back to the food truck in Tofino.

Taco fino has really great food, and it shows through its wait times. If I were you, get a reservation before going, especially during peak hours. Overall the food is magnificent, the nachos are to die for and the fish taco is one of my favourites. Wouldn t recommend steak tho since it s pretty chewy. But the chicken is great too.

Some of the best tacos I've had in a while. If you're looking for Mexican, this is a solid choice.

They're more complex tacos than what I'd call street tacos, great though.

I had a pastor, a fish, and a crispy chicken (fried chicken). I'd say the fish was my favorite but, the chicken was a very close second.

Been 2 and 3 tacos would be a good meal, I was full with 3.

The very innocent Taco cuisine is no longer the original taste of Mexico, but has been modified to the new flavor of Vancouver, too American and too mild. But the improved flavor is also loved by everyone, after all, it is delicious. Plus each one is quite large, one can actually be full!

We tried the nachos, fish and lamb tacos.

I really enjoyed the nachos with feta cheese, all the ingredients were fresh and spot on.

Guac was alright, not the best.

Fish taco was good. Fish is battered, deep fried. I think it came with spicy mayo which wasn t too spicy. I d recommend a spicier dressing or even a tad bit of hot sauce.

Lamb taco had good amount of meat. Same, I d eat it with hot sauce next time.

All the items were not really pocket friendly, a little extra than what I d pay for taco s.

However, my husband and I were super full with what we got, could not finish the nacho s.
My husband enjoyed his IPA!

We would have loved the patio, it was stinking out there. We opted to dine inside.

Service was quick and friendly.

M kitchen was flooded and I can't cook at home. It stinks in here too and life sucks lol. I have been eating breakfast lunch and dinner out and I went to tacofino twice in two days because the first time I went it was sooooo good but today I went to the Taco Bar and ordered the same thing that I ordered at the one on Nanaimo and they were totally different and this one wasn't as good. I'm enjoying writing reviews now because it feels like therapy haha! I'll go back to the one on nanaimo but not this one.

I was put on the waiting list and it said it takes 15min.
After half an hour I looked at the waiting list and I was simply removed from the waiting list.
The guide said it was a good restaurant, but this service is simply disappointing.

Be careful in this area, when I was eating at temporarily front patio a group of men from outside the restaurant got into a fight and fell onto the table right next to mine.

YUM - first visit here for lunch and I don't know what I was expecting but these tacos blew my foodie mind. Tasty, fresh, fast and delicious it's hard to pick just one so you will have to bring friends and try them all. I am looking forward to going back soon.

Waited over an hour for a table and it was completely worth it. Everything was delicious.

I particularly enjoyed the al pastor taco even though I don t care for pineapple. The squash and cauliflower tostada was delicious as was the fish taco.

The lime margarita is delicious though very pricey for the small size. Happy hour pricing made it less steep but still not cheap.

We initially came to Tacofino to grab a small bite while waiting for a friend. We were so impressed and satisfied with our "snack" of queso, wings, and fish tacos, that after picking up our friend, we immediately drove straight back to have more tacos.
On our second round, we tried the nachos, eggplant tacos, al pastor, and pork gringa. Every bite was delicious. Flavorful and filling.
The atmosphere is great too; young crowd, friendly staff, trendy vibe.
Do not pass up this place!

nice!

Grungy and cool atmosphere and the food is awesome. Lots of hybrid Mexican options. Note that nothing actually tastes Mexican. More of a west coast touch on everything. The name says it all.

This location is a tacobar first and foremost. They do have a small space that offers the burrito menu, but there is not really anywhere to sit. They provide 4 or 5 stools at a counter. The customer service was okay, nothing special. Our food did come out fast, and it was pretty good.

The chicken burrito is cold half the time. It's a real shame because this is minutes away from my place and I wouldn't mind spending the good money for a solid burrito but there's no excuse for a cold one.

More often than not, you'll leave Tacofino content. Once the work-in of every Vancouverites trip to Tofino, now the tacos and burritos are available without the BC ferry hassle. You can even get Tofino brew on tap if you pull up a chair. But for any taco aficionado, you'll agree that the prices are preposterous, and it's especially peeve-worthy when you arrive home with your take-away and the dollop of guac you were (up)charged was not even added... Beforewarned!

Nice taco place in Gastown. Great tacos - flavour was amazing, good value, and a good number of choices. Had the fish taco, really good. The chips and dip were pretty good, really liked the tomato cashew dip. Service was excellent as well.

I ve never been to Mexico, but this feels pretty legit. The guacamole is pure gold, the spiced Mexican corn soup over exceeded my expectations and the tacos themselves are pretty darn great. I ll save you the psychological crisis and let you know the taco vs burrito bathrooms aren t gendered. Aesthetics draw in the hipsters, the tacos draw in the foodies and the good service keeps them all coming back.

Fantastic hole in the wall neighborhood eatery. Evolved from a taco truck and still has that underdog DNA which makes them innovate and work hard at coming up with menu items that bring you back for more. Margaritas are super cheap and tasty albeit small - I think of them as fun size . When in Vancouver don t miss this place.

I love tacofino but I would not recommend this location for nachos, unless you like the gastown feel. Go to the east hastings location ! They give bigger portions for nachos ! This location portion wise is very mediocre but taste is on point :)

Best tacos I have ever had, although that is due to the high prices. I had the fish taco, chicken taco, pork, and beef and all of them did not disappoint. Great atmosphere very oriented towards younger people looking for a great place to eat in Gastown with a lively vibe. Would definitely recommend if you have the money to spend.

Amazing tacos, but definitely not authentic Mexican food. It's been slightly Americanized, which does nothing to diminish how amazing it is.
The pork gringa in particular is amazing. The bar is also quite good, making great classic margaritas as well as a few unique house cocktails which I didn't have the chance to try.
I would recommend this as a great spot for dates or lunch/dinner with friends. The ambience is excellent and it's a fun room to hang out in.

Better than Chipotle but not as good as La Catrina Tacos (over by English Bay Beach). They have more of a west coast style food while La Catrina is more authentic Mexican. The fish tacos here are very good, my favourite of the three kinds I tried. It's $6-7 per taco so they are also a bit more expensive, but not outrageously so.

After watching an employee prep my burrito with the torn, sweat-stained strands of his wrist s tensor bandage draped across the food, I received my meal and turned to find a seat. As all 5 seats at the front of the restaurant were occupied, I went to the main restaurant area and sat at one of 3 large unoccupied tables. Two servers swiftly descended on me to boot me out, stating they forbid burrito customers to sit there, as those seats are reserved for, I don t know, taco-people I guess?

Even after pleading my case, that there was nowhere to sit up front, and that I was an exhausted nurse on his dinner break... they maintained I had to go to the front and stand while I ate.
