Stayed at this hotel for three nights. Having traveled the world and stayed at many 5 star rated hotel have not had an incident of THEF but on our second night at this hotel we were out for dinner with our travel companions, upon return 2 hours later noticed money were missing from my purse.
Reported this incident immediately took them 10 days to investigate and came back with the conclusion that there was not any fault on the employees that entered my room at this particular day and time.
Leaving a very bad impression.
Please do not leave a single penny in your room or in your bags as these employees do go through your bags when you are out. My purse was not visible or on display on table, it was inside my backpack and she would have to go through the bags to find the purse.
Be careful as management would instead fine you the victim at fault. And take no responsibility of any wrongdoing of their employees.
A very bad experience which should have been a stress free holiday.

The Table Bay Hotel is conveniently located in the V&A Waterfront and has one of the best breakfast spreads I've ever seen. I enjoyed my stay (especially the pool) but I left feeling like it lacked the 'wow' that other luxury Cape Town hotels deliver seemingly effortlessly. The Table Bay underwent a recent refurbish and its image has improved, however, I found the decor and furnishings to be suited to an older business traveler and not a young leisure traveler like myself.

When I entered my room, there was a gift and a cookie waiting for a traveler by a different name. Did I just walk into someone else's room? I called down to the front desk to report their error and I was put on hold for so long, I eventually hung up because I wanted to get my afternoon touring started. Not a great first impression. Knowing that the Cape Grace, One&Only, and the Silo (coming 2016) are also in the neighborhood, I'm not sure I'd stay here again.

Very centrally located on the waterfront. The breakfast is outstanding and can easily compare with other well-known 5 star hotels worldwide. Absolutely his wishes at breakfast tell, of course, all egg dishes (poached, etc) also freshly prepared. Champagne is also served on request every day. The oysters at the buffet are always fresh, the pastries are exceptionally delicious.

This is a hotel of the highest caliber, and we surely paid for it. Attached to the mall (with pharmacy in it) and smack in the middle of all the fun, they are all about high-end service here. White linen and a beautiful array of shiny eating utensils when you order thru room service. Good food.

this polished hotel is 4 km from the historic Company's Garden and 9 km from Table Mountain National Park.
Elegant rooms feature views of the harbour or Table Mountain, plus free Wi-Fi, flat-screens, writing desks, and tea and coffeemaking equipment. Suites add living rooms; some have whirlpool baths. Turndown service is provided, and 24-hour room service is on offer.
Complimentary perks include breakfast and local shuttle service. There's a chic brasserie, a clubby bar, and a ballroom, plus a genteel lounge offering high tea and harbour views. Other amenities include an outdoor pool, a poolside bar, a gym and a spa.

Dear Hotelier,

This letter is in regards to the complaint which I lodged in your hotel dated 23rd March 2019 wherein I raised a complaint for my money (2x100USD and 5x200 ZAR) being stolen from my red pouch that was inside the black backpack and was locked which I found missing.

I raised the complaint and was given the assurance that this matter will be taken seriously as you follow ZTP in such cases however I failed to see any movement in my case. I was just given an incident report signed by security shift manager Mr. Jerome Hansen. I very categorically informed the hotel staff that I will be checking out the next morning at 9 a.m. as I have to board the flight to India so please take necessary actions ASAP. I waited till next morning but no one came to meet me or gave me any resolution, moreover when I asked for the security supervisor I got to know that he was busy in the meeting and will take time hence I had to leave from the hotel to board my flight.

After coming back to India I wrote several mails to hotel s concerned departments but I only gets the revert that investigation is in progress. Today post more than 15 days to the incident I am forced to post this on the social sites not to remind but to make you realize that being a hospitality industry and a reputed 5 star hotel it s really shameful and disgraceful that no one from your end is bothered to write back to me with the update. This shows your negligence towards your guests and I believe that it was my mistake to book rooms in your hotel

Thanks & regards

We had the most incredible stay and loved every minute of being at The Table Bay hotel.

The room where you eat breakfast is so grand and has beautiful views with a huge variety of food options.
We we're on our honeymoon and from arrival to departure we're made to feel like royalty. We received a bottle and chocolates in the room and a rose petal bath with candles.

The bar staff we're incredible also as when they found out it was our honeymoon they truly went above and beyond to make us feel special and we couldn't thank them enough. We returned from an evening out to a special candlelit table covered in rose petals and a celebratory glass of champagne. The staff then sang to us and continued to give undivided attention and incredible service. It made our trip so magical and we have told all of our friends and family about the welcome we received from your staff.

We can't wait to return again.

A really lovely hotel with nice staff. The breakfast selection is extensive and the view from the dining areas are calm and beautiful. However, if you don't get to breakfast early, you may find yourself waiting for a table.

The small touches are quite nice. They turn down your bed and leave a bottle of water and a piece of candy for you.

Gorgeous hotel on the water. We had the penthouse overlooking the water and it was really memorable! Huge breakfast buffet that included raw oysters, a sushi bar, waffle/crepe station, and everything else you can imagine. Centrally located and safe!

Table Bay Hotel was a unique and wonderful stop in our trip to South Africa. With the Victoria and Albert waterfront at our finger tips with a great variety of restaurants and activities within a short walk, made this such a wonderful location. The staff is top notch and always happy to make your stay a wonderful experience.

Hotel good but they have very cheap quality iron to iron clothes and very limited in quantity. Also when the room service people knock other doors...it looks like they are knocking yours....On the other hand, the staff is very pleasant and friendly.

Terrible spa and bad service

Terrible spa and bad service

Came to hotel reception and was told that only guest of the table bay hotel could access the spa, I tried to say we had an appointment at spa, after only convincing the reception staff to assist us to spa

We came to spa reception and apologized for being late and said we will sacrifice the 30min relaxing time which was part of the package we ordered and paid for.

Here is the bad part
After multiple emails and calls to the spa with no replies but only false promises to questions or confirmations, only to find out
the manager booked us as a group and incomplete treatment.

We were constantly reminded that we were late for no reason
And I having to complete the forms for the spa which was ignored to my partners health requirement and mine as well
Not forgetting the extra treatment ordered to Swedish massage ( hot stones)
Which was only started after the Swedish massage was done and having to ask them to do it as they did not check the forms

The room was below 2star level and no where near.industry standard of the hotel
We were constantly disturbed by questions that supposed to be asked at start of any treatment and constantly knocked by our feet

In the bathrooms the lockers struggles to lock and unlock making you uneasy of your personal belongings and no bathrobes or amenities in the shower.

The policy of no noise does not apply as music cuts off during treatment and people always talking in walk ways and door always opening

Ventalation is bad so your body constantly feels uncomfortable and extremely hot

You will always find lack of preparation which leads to more opening and closing of doors disturbing the little peace you expected to gain from a spa

After getting frustrated and having to speak to the active manager on the day which was very understanding and polite, the only part of the place we can say was welcoming and empathetic to the mess up done by booking of treatment.

Speaking to the manager we only started the proper treatment then and also by that time the masses was tired and yawning again bothering with questions during treatment

End of the treatment
Left with more stress
Less money
No reward for spending a 4/5 star level pricing at 1/5 star spa

Always disturbed
No unwinding or relaxing sensations.
And a angry upset girlfriend on a promised treatment on our anniversary

Very nice hotel. Good locations at the waterfront which is safe and has alot of good restaurants. I spent 10 days there and never get bored. Breakfast is the best i ever had. Also hotel has a good and fancy restaurant . Stuff is very friendly and helpful. Concierge is rich and city well known. Hotel have access to the mall.

Used to be a good hotel. Now inferior service levels and badly trained staff in restaurants with seemingly absent or inferior management. Compared to International 5 star levels, hardly worth the rack rate. Apparently most services here are 'outsourced' - which may explain sub-standard guest experience. 'Cape Grace Hotel' in V&A Waterfront probably a better and more credible 5 star option.

I have tea at The Table Bay Hotel at least twice a week. I love the 2pm piano sessions. I enjoy having my meetings and quiet thinking time here. Its becomes habit to go to the Table Bay Hotel. When I am in city centre or waterfront I MUST go to the Table Bay Hotel.
