Truly coffee roasting Masters as the rumors go. The coffiness of the interior and All the decorations involved almost makes it seem sinful to order anything else but from their wide selection of coffees. To my surprise they have most of other kinds of beverages to suit everyone's taste. They cater to the hungry as well.

I cannot talk about coffee, but I did brunch and juice there and quality and amount of food was so so, half of juice was ice, and totally overpriced. I wont come again, here are more, better and cheaper places in the city. Also service wasnt specialy good.

What a great vibe! This is place worth visiting for not only the great coffee and croissants but also for the overall experience, especially if you enjoy steampunk themed decor. Every inch of the interior space is well thought out to create a creative and warming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and efficient and really take the time to make you the perfect cup of coffee.

Nice place and warm atmosphere on a rainy day. Delicious coffee and a lot of options for specialty coffee. You can also buy beans and barista tools. I ordered a clever drip coffee and it tasted very good .

Coffee was great as always.

But the breakfast burger was not worth my money. Not sure what was used in the patty...rubbish

If it is about good coffee, Cape Town according to The Telegraph has the best coffee shop in the World, Truth Coffee Roastery on Buitenkant Street in this city. The Telegraph in an article earlier last year on the best coffee shops in the world wrote that "There are few cafes in the world as impressive as Truth."
The first thing that impresses upon arriving at this place is its style, which according to its staff is "Steampunk", retro fashion where the setting is located in Victorian England, where steam technology is predominant, which can be seen in the clothing of the waiters and waitresses, in the style of grinding machines, toasting, in the toilets with a high tank, sinks and copper facilities and in the decoration of the totally retro room, where I found an old typewriter with keys
Its menu resembles an old newspaper and its gastronomic offer is complete, since they serve from Cafe to take away at 6:00 in the morning, breakfast, lunch, after office and dinner. As for coffee, the recommendation is Long Black and in sandwiches, Croque Monsieur with avocado or Portuguesa Steak, they are simply delicious.

I have recently discovered Truth Coffee and I have to say it is the most delicious coffee I have tasted in Cape Town. I also love the steampunk decor. Unfortunately, today my positive experience of Truth Coffee was ruined by a waitress and manager with a very rude and bad attitude. When I came into the restaurant I was greeted by a waitress who appeared very friendly and helpful and promptly seated me and gave me a menu. So far so good. Then, after I had ordered an ice coffee, I had been waiting over ten minutes and I still hadn't been served my coffee. So I called the waitress over and asked where my coffee was. She seemed genuinely concerned and went to the counter, (perhaps to ask where my order was), but then it occurred to me that perhaps she had actually forgotten about my order and was only placing it then after I reminded her I had been waiting over 10 minutes. I was going to an interview and didn't want to be late so I figured if the coffee hadn't been made yet I would save them the trouble and rather not have one after all, so I got up and approached the waitress who looked at me and then I saw her mouth the words "PAIN IN THE ASS" (yes, I saw you) to what appeared to be her manager. I simply told the waitress that if my coffee hadn't been made yet then I would rather not have the coffee after all as I was in a hurry and had to leave soon. (I didn't think I would have to wait longer than ten minutes just for a cup of coffee, otherwise I wouldn't have gone there in the first place!) The "manager" then asked me in a very rude tone, "What did you order?" and then said, "Ice coffee takes longer because you have to make it in a blender, blah blah blah!" But I wasn't buying it. I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a beverage anywhere and neither should anyone, that's the rule in the restaurant business, I speak from experience. Anyway, I then walked back to my seat and overheard the "manager" say to the waitress, "There, sorted!" Like I wasn't even a human being, just some pesky annoyance to get rid of. Shortly after that, I was served by a different waitress. (Obviously the waitress who had originally been serving me had convinced her manager I was being "A PAIN IN THE ASS" so sent someone else to "deal with me". I am terribly sorry that my haste was misinterpreted as being "difficult" and I despise the way I was shunted around like a misbehaving child. I was also given a free coffee token which I appreciate, but I would prefer it if the owner of Truth Coffee would get rid of the bad apples in their business instead of trying to shut customers up with freebies, it's not worth it to risk negative reviews. To the waitress, next time you want to call someone "A PAIN IN THE ASS" and play the victim to your manager, put yourself in the customer's shoes. Maybe all they wanted was somewhere to sit and enjoy a quick cup of coffee, and maybe they had somewhere to be after that!

The energy amongst the staff was terrible. They all looked overworked and irritable. Not sure what the fuss is with this place. Flat white I had was only slightly better than the norm at a very steep price...

Rated best coffee shop in the world for a reason. Decor is top class with food to match. Obviously the coffee is great as well, and I really like the two take away coffee bars (one inside and one outside).

One of my favorite things is how the waiters and waitresses are all dressed in character - it really completes the experience.

Voted the best coffee shop in the world so I had to check it out. Pleasant experience, staff take pride in their work and a nice vibe for whatever time of the day. They are a bit pricey so I can only recommend for coffee connoisseurs. The only thing better then being there is having their coffee at home with you.

What a vibe, so cool. Really good coffee and excellent service. The interior is super cool and very creative. Bit noisy, but that is easy to forgive seeing that it's such a trendy spot. Thanks!

This is a funky spot to hang out, get a beer or more. It does get very crowded, with a real vibe - especially when there's live music. I think the owners have succeeded in creating a great venue to have a drink.

Famous coffee establishment let down by so so very cold 'flat white' coffee, and when mentioned to the waiter, only elicted a shrug....R45-00 for a 'cappuchino' is close to European prices but far from the quality. AVO lunch was good. Street parking nearby an extra R30-00 per hour.

Truth coffee roasting is a great spot for everyone that wants to hang out at an eclectic coffee bar! The staffs are helpful and friendly!
I personally recommend their cold coffee brew, and a pain au chocolat.
The only downside would be that it is a bit pricey!

Daniel Drost s review below mine explains exactly my feeling about Truth Coffee Roasting. It s a really interesting place to hang out with interactive servers and a unique vibe, but the coffee just does not live up to all the hype. It was nice for a one time visit.
