I am using my Mom's google account to write this review. Sage Dining caters my School, and I am definitely not impressed, in fact, disgusted. Firstly, the chefs barely give you any portion of food, so in order to have say a balanced meal like their motto says, I need to come up to the food line multiple times, and they don't let you use the same plate, so, plates are wasted every day. Sage claims that they serve healthy food, and yet everything they make is served in a bath of oil. The cheese sauce for the nachos is watery and wet and they use the same sauce on the mac n' cheese which my friends and I nicknamed mac n' cheese soup. According to a teacher, leftover fish is used two weeks in a row. The food is also disgustingly contaminated: One day my milk was mottled with brown and black spots on the top of it, I think it was the remains of a bug. My friend poured himself some lemonade and found a red, worm looking "creature" in it that looked to be dead with mold on it. I took it to a chef and he just disregarded it and told me to throw it out. The chicken is hard, dry, and overused. Leftovers of chicken and pulled beef are used at least twice every week, and sometimes for 2 days in a row the chicken tastes the same. I found mold on a pita once. Overall the food is disgusting and has made me sick many times. If I could I would have given 0 stars. I'm glad that my school is getting a new caterer.

The milk was once spoiled and the food is very dry.

My school recently switched to SAGE Dining Services this year...worst decision of their lives. Whether it be inedible food 4.5 days out of the 5 day school week or simply raw, unappetizing food it's just plain garbage. Soon after their unfortunate arrival, SAGE was coined the acronym Sucky Awful Garbage Eats, one that fits surprising well.

As a profesor i like my food, i do not endorse this company because of the multiple occasions i have been sick and having had severe explosive diarrhea. enough of the shannigans S A G E!!

Some of the worst catering food I've ever eating, worse than public school.

So during the pandemic, Sage has come through with decent-enough food to get me through the day. It is not great food, but it is good enough, and for that reason they get two stars. Most of the chicken is still not edible though. Also when I look at the nutrition facts of the food that I eat, I'm scared. I would not be surprised if my arteries get completely clogged up in a couple of years. Protein is nice, but not 14g of saturated fat per little bag of food. I do not want a heart attack when I am 30.

I work for them and do a lot of catering jobs, which I love. There are so many opportunities to grow within the company

I am a fan of Sage. Sage is providing my school with excellent food for children and with several healthy options. I love Margi Gross and Eduardo De Leon and their team. They are the best. Thank you for providing us with such good and healthy food.

Ive been with SAGE for 8 months and Its been an incredible journey. The commitment and passion is incredible. SAGE has a vision and sticks to that vision everyday. Im happy to be here everyday

I'm an employee at SAGE who's first impression of the company's aesthetic and mission was, "Wow, I can' t believe this is what kids get to eat these days." I've now been with the company for almost 4 years and as a food service director, I can attest to the thought and care the company has puts into to providing an excellent overall dining experience. Seasonal produce, cooking in small batches and providing educational experiences are all examples of why this company is well loved in the schools and institutions they work with.

The food is horrible and tasteless. The food is unhealthy and at times can make you sick. I got sick for 3 days after eating a RAW PIECE OF FISH. It is the most awful service and I hope never to est anything from this for the rest of my life.

Coming from a professional chef background with years of experience working at many high profile restaurants, I m proud to say I am part of SAGE. Life and balance changed the way we enjoys our job. I truly believe the program we provided to our school and the level of commitment our chefs bring to the table can be witnessed through many of the smiles we bring on a daily basis. I am with SAGE almost 5 years, and I m impressed by our technology that revolutionize the typical school lunch. The use of allergens filter benefited many of our students with dietary needs and I ve received many positive feedbacks from the parents. I m a strong believer with SAGE s vision and value to provides nutritious food and variety of choices to all of our school community. We even make our own sport drinks and sport bars for our athletes I can go on all day to share my experience working for SAGE, nevertheless to says the proof is in pudding.

Pasta and rice are basically bland plastic. Almost crunchy. I've eaten Sage for a decade and it is absolutely nasty.

Excellent service and variety of options are always offered. My favorite is the salmon for an entree, bread pudding for dessert. and the salad bar!

Food sucks, child poising chicken was raw the only good thing was sweet and sour chicken, one time the abused us with there battered cod. The only good chef was chef hunter and then chef Emily came and poised us with what she calls pizza bagels. Now we have flick which is great nothing like sage we do not need to starve. They gave expired milk to us thanks bye

Students and faculty love the food served by SAGE Dining. Wish we had these options when I was in School!

Thanks to SAGE, lunch has become something to look forward to on our campus. I have many options to choose from each day and our food is almost always delicious.

It is unclear why so many kids at other schools are giving a one star rating. It is clear, however, they should be looking forward to English class if they are going to be reviewing people on the internet. Who will ever take you seriously if you can't even write a complete sentence? No one. The only one who looks bad is you.

At the beginning of the year I was excited for Sage Dining. All the promo videos and photos looked amazing and the school was hyping it up. On the first day of school I was pretty satisfied with the chicken and rice (the usual). After a week of eating the quality of the food declined. I started to get unbearable pains in my intestines after eating the chicken. The rice tastes like play dough and is either crunchy or as soggy as soop. After a month of eating a touch of sage I began to question if I was eating real food. The pasta sauce taste like clorox bleach and the pizza is so greasy. Once I placed a napkin on top of my pizza to get off some of the grease. When I took the napkin off I was able to fill up 7 cups fill of grease by squeezing the napkin. Whenever I go over to get food something is always out off place. One time there was even yogurt in the onions. I tried the milk and it tastes like watered down sour cream. I have gotten non food related items incorporated in my dished before, Examples: plastic, hair, and even a toe nail. Tbh the toe nail tasted better than the actual food. At this point I would rather eat the dirt and grass outside instead of the actual food.

I worked for anola no breaks ,one 30min lunch very quick and hurry, in ten hour shift. you have to work three positions. i would like for NC labor services to check on this place,no good to work for,that is why workers don't stay.

As a Chef that has worked in everything from large resorts, to private restaurants and bars, to contract food service I have to say I have had the best experience with Sage in regard to; benefits, staffing, support, and actually having a budget that allows me to source fresh and local ingredients allowing my staff to scratch cook the large majority of our food selections.

I have worked for SAGE for over a year and it's an awesome company! We make food from scratch every single day for hundreds of students. We focus on quality, as well as variety, and offer a wide range of delicious options.

Working for SAGE has been refreshing and rewarding! There's so much great work going on in this company - from the scratch cooking that our talented teams prepare and serve (I nosh at all venues that I visit!), to the innovation within and collaboration across departments, to our focus on improving the guest and employee experiences. Another great perk - I'm surrounded by foodies who teach me something new, every day!

this food is pretty bad and i like our old chefs food because sage is awful

Ok so I usually like chicken. Chicken strips, nuggets, sandwiches. I usually eat chicken often. But SAGE dining has ruined it for me. They have chicken EVERY day. Nothing else. My taste buds were completely destroyed by the bland taste of chicken and whatever terrible fancy named sauce they put on it and call it food. Kids have stopped eating the food and practically eat nothing because of that. On the days of dessert they eat seven servings of only dessert just so they can avoid eating that awful food. All in all, SAGE if you read this, either have less chicken or actually have REAL chicken that doesn t taste like fried plastic.

SAGE Dining has proven to be a stellar performer in School lunch programs. It concentrated effort, paired with diverse and delicious menus make me very happy to be a part of such an organization. Its the dedication to nutritious meals that puts SAGE over the top.

There is only One way to describe Sage: Utterly disgusting. Also, if you enjoy sketchy food from and broken down gas station then this is for you.

A great company that does great food from scratch, tailored menus and plenty of options for the kids!

OK food, but much better than some cafeteria foods. Staff makes a lot of meals that are too complicated to cook properly given the amount of time that they have, . The website is somewhat misleading, and most of our schools food is most likely frozen and re-heated, or simply baked in an industrial microwave. Sage usually tries to hide this by putting large pools of the juices left from cooking with in the serving tray, but this just usually makes the food soggy, .The food itself,again, can taste good if done properly, but the sage at my school does not have the proper resources to maintain what they advertise. I would also like to point out that the staff is incredibly nice and positive, and some of the servers are especially friendly.

The food at my school was better before it was changed to sage

So... my school switched to sage a year ago and I, along with every student here, hate it. The breadsticks are more liquid than solid, the fries are uncooked inside, there is hair in the food, the mac n' saliva is raw, and I would rather eat my dog's food than their fried plastic. A quarter of the grade doesn't even eat lunch thanks to Sage. Nice.

Edit- I've seen plenty of milk cartons that expired 3+ months ago, and a teacher threw up from one of the hot dogs.

Edit 2- they post the menu online and the ingredients for the burger included water and 30%, yes 30%, organic beef. Student's goals for tthe year include bringing sager average rating to 1 star.

I work with an incredible team of dedicated people. Everyone here is cut from the same cooperative and giving cloth. The founders are fabulous people - have managed to run a national organizational like a small family. The corporate support is second-to-none.All levels of the company are accessible 24x7.

I represent the body of the Landon Class of 2022 and would like to report sub par food quality, and the staff blatantly ignoring us. From now forward we will be heard. until action is taken, we will post real life images of the food we are receiving. No longer will we worry about dying of dysentery, and no longer will we suffer in pain while taking a math test.

There name's of the food is ridiculous it is almost like they spend 90% of their time making trash names for food I am already skinny and when I start school I normally lose weight when I get back to school I lose up to 5 pounds. THere food is like the hot meal section at a ghetto 7/11

Sage at The Meadows School ... I only have rave reviews to give. The food is always EXCELLENT (fresh,tasty ,and appealing to the eye). The food is only surpassed by the manager and crew !!!!! They are ALWAYS friendly and helpful, whether you came to purchase a meal or pick up a drink. I find this to be a MAJOR PLUS as I find more and more that today SERVICE is a thing of the past.

They also cater lunches for the faculty on occasion ,and you would think that a gourmet catering firm did it , set up and presentation of food are beautiful. Every luncheon is truly a special occasion.

To sum it up, I can't think of anything that would make the experience any better... well, maybe free food for faculty. LOL

Going to be 100 percent honest here, it is the worst food I have ever had. Foods such as a bleeding raw chicken and a chicken wing with a feather!! I am a high school student in Miami Florida. It is absolutely the worst food ever. It is bad food every single day. Not trying to sound spoiled but we do indeed pay for this food. The school can do a lot better with less money. Do not do not hire sage dining. It is TERRIBLE! Chef Richard in Miami is a flat out rude individual to the very nice hardworking lunch ladies. Please people do not hire sage dining.

Sage Dining is one of the best services out there. There are many other companies in the industry but Sage surpasses in quality and service.
Having Sage operating your foodservice is a benefit knowing that food quality and service are most important. The food is always fresh and presented with eye appeal that is unlike the other larger companies I have frequented on other campuses. We are lucky to have them here !

From the day i started with Sage dining @ the Delphian School i knew i was at home the Sage staff was great the Menu was very impressive Ive been here going on four years and plan on staying for many more years.

Sage is the absolute worst. Im not sure why my school used it.

For the last 5 years I have be an employee at the Scheck Hillel Community School in Miami, FL, which contracts with Sage Dining for our daily lunch program and on-site catering services.
The Sage employees are always friendly, considerate and extremely helpful to students and faculty. And of course, the food is delicious! As a Jewish school, we keep strictly kosher, and Sage does a wonderful job accommodating all of our religious kosher needs.
Most of all, our chef, Alon Ezra is an excellent leader of his staff, and treats his employees with respect and kindness. When I come to work each day, I know that I will always be treated to a nutritious and delicious lunch! Thank you Sage!

I really think that the food here is better than at my old school and I think that the pizza is good and the people are good too. A lot of people complain but it's better than some schools and it's better than nothing so don't complain. Thx sage for good food/ service each day.

I'll start this by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed working with the school- students, faculty, and all other members of the school community. I will certainly miss these people. But....

Working for Sage isn't for someone that cares and appreciates quality food. As much as they're "trying" to rework and revise the recipes they use, the company is clearly on a path to become yet another Aramark or Sodexo. Management from the district level and up is a falsely over-confident group of wannabe foodies that want to live vicariously through the near-impossible feats their teams try to pull off for school events.

Also, don't let the "family friendly workplace" line fool you. It was tough enough that my daily schedule didn't allow me to see my daughter 4 out of 7 days of the week, but then when I wasn't able to go to work on my scheduled day off, I was "coached" and told "I think we pay you enough that you can afford a babysitter if you're needed at work, right?" I'm not sure about you, but I haven't met anyone that's needed to keep a sitter on retainer in case you have to go to work because your exceptionally dim supervisor can't hire or retain competent employees.

All in all, there's far too much to write about. While they pay well, it's certainly not worth the lost family time, lack of learning, or the stress. The majority of the 5-star reviews are by current/former employees that were instructed to come here by upper-management and give good reviews to boost the overall rating of the business.

Sage runs the food service at our school. They have great choices for the hot bar and salad bar. They also run special events for different meals whether it is a celebration of the end of exams or it's been a rough stretch of weather and everyone needs a boost. They are great about helping with special events like prom receptions and special meals for parents.

SAGE (at the Delphian School) is a great place to work and feels like a family. With a wide variety of scratch-made foods (both regularly changing and customizable to the venue) and a different menu served every day, we create meals that the guests enjoy and we (the cooks) can be proud of too. SAGE's emphasis on integrity, ownership, team and creating exceptional dining experiences points you in the right direction to be a professional.

Working for SAGE Dining Services, has been and continues to be an amazing, rewarding experience. The companies commitment to safe, scratch cooking and making the entire dining experience the best that it can be is second to none.

I, a student at a school which serves sage dining, believe that all though chicken is not served everyday, it is worse. I often see myself spitting out the food. We are served things no one in their right would want to eat. It just couldn't be much worse.

SAGE Dining serves our school and we could not be happier! The entire SAGE team always serves our students, faculty and staff with a smile. The food is delicious and there is a wonderful variety every day, so there is always something for everyone. Chef Rylan Jeffries is a joy! She makes hosting on campus meetings a breeze with her creative menus and attention to detail. We are thankful to be working with SAGE.

The staff truly is so loving and welcoming and they never fail to make my day, a polite and great staff is hard to come by now a days. The food is great too , the Salmon is always cooked to perfection and has the best flavour it is one of my personal favourites. As well the yummy pizza, the chicken parm that is fresh and so tasty, they have such a wide variety of things weekly. The fruit is so fresh and delicious, and the salad bar is always healthy with lots of choices to choose from. Very thankful for Sage and all they do for me. :)

if i could give it zero stars i would it sucks so hard they only serve chicken and rice plus there pizza is pita bread with sauce

I wish I could give a -1,000,000 stars. The food tastes like raw poop fried in liquid vomit. They spend more time on the names than the actual food. I don't want Pan-roasted pastry rolls, layered with an herbed tomato puree, a creamy blend of artisanal cheeses, and tender bites of aged salami. Call them pizza rolls!!! And the food is not fresh either! The food is so old it remembers when emojis were called hieroglyphics! The food is ever more of a mistake than the person who founded Sage. And don't get me started on the tilapia.

I would rather not eat lunch. The food is like airline food but not as good considering airline food is actually edible. The tilapia reminds me of if play dough was fish. You can have ur chicken three tempatures raw overcooked or dry and raw at the same time.

This food is absolutely horrendous. I have never had a bleeding chicken in my life other than at my schools lunch. Let me know if you have ever been to a restaurant and found about 3 feathers in your chicken wings. I pay 20,000 a year to eat undercooked, cold food. I warn you that if you hire sage, you will definitely consume some raw chicken along the way. I have developed stomach problems as a result of sage.

SAGE Dining has been a family to me for the past 6 years. They took a chance on me at the position of Sous Chef when I had little to no experience. After only two short years I was promoted internally to Food Service Director and have been promoted again 3 years later. SAGE takes care of their team members! If you are a chef who is tired of working endlessly for little pay in restaurants and hotels, this is the place to work. Being a father of three kids, SAGE gives me time with them I wouldn't otherwise have if I was still working in the restaurant industry. Love my SAGE fam!!

The milk was spoiled and the macaroni and cheese was just water and squishy and torn up pasta. It was basically as my friend said "mac and saliva". The hotdogs made one of my teachers throw up and many other people. I would rather eat anything other than their baked cyanide. Their food usually has haired sometimes bandaids in it. Their "educational seasoning" it is just a sign that says that. I checked the ingredients for the burger and it included tons of water and other things that should not be in a burger. Sage on a sign had Tuesday and Thursday as the same date. I am overall disgusted and very disappointed.

They are FAR and AWAY the best food service I have ever enjoyed working at schools and colleges over the past 34 years. We get top notch service, continual innovation in menus, the friendliest darn folks top to bottom, and for me in particular, accommodations for celiac disease. Thanks to them, I gained 10 lbs. in my first year here!

Fist of all i'm glad that I haven't died of bubonic plague yet. I am always literally spitting the food out. My friends and I write comments but Sage doesn't care. They think their food is spectacular well here is a wake up call. Sage Dining Services serve food that is bland, dry, soaked in grease and absolutely 100% disgusting.

This is an amazing company, they treat there employees so we'll . The food served at SAGE schools goes way above and beyond what is served in normal schools, the level of care and time put into meals is amazing and the students love it!

Food at Landon School is abysmal! Kids are afraid they will get sick from the salad. None of the food is freshly made or prepared. They bring in boxes of processed food, reheat it in the microwave, and serve it to the kids under the guise of being fresh made. The kids never have protein centered meals available....instead most meals are carb based and loaded with fillers. Never is there a day where there is simply grilled chicken and veggies available. Instead, they have Taco Tuesday - the meat is a mystery....it s supposedly ground chicken or ground whatever. It s terrible - the cheese put on the Tacos is like glue....velveeta-ish. Besides the bad food, the service is horrendous. At least once or twice a week my kids will wait in line only to be told they ve run out of food and they need to go back in another line and wait again. Sandwich meat is never fresh roasted - it is obviously processed and highly processed. There isn t a single acceptable meal ever served.

I've worked for SAGE Dining Services for twenty plus years at various locations. SAGE's commitment to Sustainability, scratch cooking and ongoing team member training is what has kept me here with them for so long. Everyday is a new challenge and a chance to use my creativity and vision to delight the senses, inspire minds and foster community.

Very bad customer service and unprofessional people

The food was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Today I went to get mac and cheese, but it was just liquid and pasta and they put a BAND-AID in it. I hate SAGE.

I have worked for Sage Dining Services for 4 years. It has been so much fun learning new things everyday, and putting to use what I learned in culinary school. We offer a wide variety of scratch made foods, desserts and salads. Thank you Sage for making this a wonderful and educational work place.

Personally, I enjoy SAGE. Although a lot of people may say it's yucky gross and stuff, it is a lot better than what was before it (the chicken bounced). There are defiantly things that need improving, but overall it's good. One thing that defiantly needs improving is the tofu. Nobody eats it and well, its still there everyday. I tried it once and its pretty disgusting. Another thing is some people on the staff stare at us like we're spoiled rich kids. No! Our parents just want us to have a good education.

The food is average. Some meat is covered in grease. The chicken is chewy. better than average public school foods
