Very solid sushi restaurant for the price. Service was friendly and helpful though a little slow.

Definitely AVOID the tempura calamari as it was incredibly bland and like 75% deep fried batter 25% calamari.

Otherwise the food was pretty good. Its COVID season at the moment but we plan to try the all you can eat if we ever get out of this quarantine restriction.

Am visiting from NYC, came last year in Nov & now again in Dec today and the food was just as good then and it is now - fresh Salmon & Tuna, excellent Salmon teriyaki, my friend loves the Fried Mackerel. The price for the food is unbeatable.

I ordered take out from here last night, so my rating does not apply to the staff or the cleanliness of their dining room, only the quality and value of the food. I live less than 5 minutes from sushi wave, so there is no excuse for the meal to have been that awful.

I ordered a sampler of their specialty rolls as well as salmon and tuna nigiri, most of which ended up in the trash. The fish was dry and tasted old. Even their imitation crab was mostly just mayo. It was not high quality as the restaurant claims nor was it just a matter of personal taste. I was concerned about becoming ill. They are completely unjustified in changing as much as they do. It is significantly more expensive than some other local places and I regret ordering from sushi wave.

Favorite spot. Always fresh. Been a patron of this place for 10 years, at least a visit a month (and sometimes weekly visits too!)

Recently under new ownership. They've changed and improved a few things, but the menu is still the same, freshness is still the same, and they have even added some new stuff.

While I've always loved this place, the service by the waitstaff under previous ownership did need some help, and sometimes there would be too manywaitsyagf which led to some arguing over whose tables are whose, etc. Not a pretty picture at times! The sushi chefs are the same so you can expect the same great skill and quality and so far the new waitstaff are really great!

Great quality at a good price. Fish was fresh!

My fiance and I did the ayce. We recommend the rainbow and the wasabi roll(available mon to thur). Sushi chefs were very friendly. Laid back comfortable setting.

The Ambiance and Decor of the place was nice, however the sushi was just average. And this comment is coming from my son who loves to eat sushi, and he was begging to go to a sushi place, during his break from college. And he truly was not thrilled!

Ate the All You Can Eat deal for Lunch. Nearly paid for itself after the second roll, by the third it was well worth it. Loved the Hero Albacore and Hawaiian Rolls and the Crispy Rice w/ Spicy Tuna.

Little rundown, but food is worth it.

EXCELLENT SUSHI! What a gem! Our son home on leave wanted to have sushi. I had always heard about Sushi Wave, but had never been. They have happy hour everyday from from 5pm to 7pm. Then they also have All You Can Eat Sushi for $24.95 as the dinner price. Less for lunch. You can also buy also carte. The sparkling saki was also excellent. We loved it and will be back. Worth the wait.

I came here the other night and got all you can eat for around $25. It's a fair price and the sushi is good quality. They also have a great selection of cut and hand rolls as well as weekly special rolls. Overall i would recommend Sushi Wave to anyone in the Costa Mesa area.

We have special A and special C at Sushi Wave, the food is very fresh, price is average. The owner seems know his customers very much and very friendly. They serve many different kinds of beer. The service is very friendly and parking are in front and rear very convenient. Will come back many times.

Great service. Really nice staff. But horrible stale sushi. Sushi is the opposite of fresh. I really wanted to give this place a good rating, however I just can't. If you like sushi, do not go here. There are much better options for AYCE sushi in OC.

Good service but this is not the sushi you are looking for. If you are visiting California and want good sushi this is not it. We ordered all you can eat and they are all dressed up California rolls. The gyoza came out cold then they More

Been coming here for years. They recently renovated & added new chefs who do a fantastic job. They almost have a power line up you could say making sushi. The prices are awesome & the sushi is delicious. Shane is doing an amazing job as the new owner!

This little spot is seriously a hidden gem! My husband and I have a favorite place in riverside and this is now added to the faves! Their food is amazing, super fresh, and the service is wonderful! The restaurant is super clean and the music is nice and fun. I can't wait to come back!

A few years ago, it was real good. I came back and seems like they downgraded the food to offset the cost. It wasn't as good as I remembered. Compare it to other all you can eat places, i would still pick Sushi Wave over others. Nevertheless, $20 for all you can eat sushi is pretty good especially they make it once you placed the order. Not sushi sitting out like other places. Best bang for your buck.

Visited here and I have to say, the food quality and pricing is amazing. Definetly the lunch prices and quantity of food that is served. The all you can eat seems like a great deal as well. The chicken katsu is a must try!
Also the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing, love it. Would make a great date spot in the evening.

After a half hour of waiting after placing our order, the server comes back to tell me I've ordered "too many items" on my AYCE menu. They HADN'T EVEN STARTED MAKING ANYTHING YET.

After coming here for nearly ten years, this absolute lack of service is the last straw. I won't be back.

Sushi rolls are made of ONLY rice. There is very little fish in any of it. All you can eat was $25, and they where so slow that the all you can eat 2 hour time limit would nearly run out before you eat all you can. If you are a frequent sushi eater, their Japanese food names are miss-used to the point of creating issues. Do not eat here.

It's fine but it didn't amaze me. Fresh quality ingredients. But fairly basic choices and preparations. It's AYCE all you can eat. You can bring a bottle of wine for just a $6 corkage fee. The jalapeno bomb is a whole raw jalapeno, so extremely spicy. The CJ roll had a citrus vinaigrette that I didn't care for. The crispy rice and tuna was great. The lobster roll was ok. I prefer the AYCE at the Triangle instead.
