Simply the best Sushi in Calgary and amazing service to go along with it. Highly recommended!

I have been coming here since I was 10 years old and that s not an exaggeration. It became a spot where my family and I would eat on Saturday s, to the point that I bring my boyfriend here and we eat either lunch or dinner on weekends. Staff has and have always been of service and know us pretty well by now.
Great place as always and my number one go to spot for authentic Japanese food.

Very good sushi and food. Tea was excellent as well. Very cool atmosphere, with a little stream and fountain running. Peaceful and delicious food. Lunch combo is great if you are there during the day. That karaage is decent (although not traditional) and along with the salad you should leave feeling full

Seriously, the best quality sushi you can get in this city. The manager is super friendly, as are the rest of the staff. I've never had a bad experience, and I've been here at least once a month for the past 5 years. Love it!

Sushi Ginza is awesome! What I love about going here is how friendly and accommodating the staff are. It's very cozy, clean, and the food is delicious-their sashimi is the best. Sushi Ginza is a pillar in the willow park community.

Excellent food. Fish is fresh, rice has good texture, rolls are constructed well with an ideal mouth feel. Flavors are evident through their use of top quality ingredients. Cooked food is well composed. Beef tataki has this amazing sauce that keeps you wanting more. Staff are very friendly and always make your visit a pleasure.

Sorry to be a downer but our experience Feb 16/18 was quite disappointing. Only the green tea reached expectations. My beef curry was without flavor, the rice was hard and crunchy. My wife s sushi was poor - the sashimi had likely been frozen prior, was watery/rubbery, and she didn t finish. Fake crab was freely offered bu of course is shameful for true Japanese quinine. My wife knows quality Japanese food as she was raised in Osaka. We suspect the owners are not Japanese for the quality control is at a low level. We went to this restaurant because of many good online reviews. We suspect employees and friends have done the deed. Don t go here - go to Shikiji, Roku, or Daruma.

Some of the best Japanese Food in Calgary. They have the complete package if you have looking for the culinary Japanese experience. Both their sushi and hot food is amazing. The atmosphere is very elegant. With the quality and quality you get, their prices are much cheaper than other sushi establishment.

I have been coming to sushi ginza for 6 years now and every single time I come it is consistently good. The waiter has my order memorized ( I maybe come 1 a month on average) and the food is always prompt and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great menu, great mood. They really keep everything here authentic. The sushi is typically quite fresh and the staff are always relaxed. Well worth the price.

I've tried most Japanese restaurants in Calgary and the fish here is without a doubt the best. The salmon and scallops were really fresh.

The also have a nice selection of hot food for non-sushi people.

Serves one of the most delicious sushi in the city. Always consistent and fresh. Great location with lots of parking. Just thinking about the food makes me crave for sushi.

This restaurant makes you feel like you are in japan with its unique sushi bar and and tables where your can sit like in japan (sitting on knees). The sushi bar has little boats that go around the table with sushi on it and based on the plates pattern/color it will deter man the price for that one plate. If you go I would recommend the sushi bar because in the other table it hurts your legs after awhile because you sit on your knees.

I have been numerous times and it has between exceptional on every occasion. Amazing service from friendly professional attentive staff. I really enjoyed all the sushi I ordered from the menu and at the floating bar, my son likes the chicken teriyaki and they make the best spring rolls I have ever had, 5 stars!

Always amazing Sushi! As usual friendly and knowledgable service. Tried a couple "Cones" delicious, but a little messy for my liking. Loving the Sushi Boat miso soup, salad, and a great variety. Sorry no pictires, too yum to wait! Next time.... If you like QUALITY Sushi.....this is a MUST VISIT place. ,

Perfectly decent japanese restaurant. But not quite great yet.

I tried this place on a whim and boy am I glad I did! This is the BEST sushi I have ever had. You can definitely tell that all the food here is made fresh to eat. They have definitely gained a lifetime customer

Fantastic food along with its great staff, one of my favorite places to go especially with my boyfriend. The prices are what you would expect for quality sushi. Great atmosphere.

Great little Japanese place. If you're down south and have a hankering for sushi or a rice bowl come here! The ambiance is lovely, the staff are exceptional for their service and welcome attitude, and their prices and portions are more than fair. Try their fried green tea icecream! So good.

Have had both wonderful and terrible experiences here. Loved it the first few times I visited, but the last time our sushi was not very good. The tuna had a stagnant taste of either being left out or the fish was going bad. We let our server know and the manager came over and made it seem like we were just looking to get a free meal. This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth - along with the fish. Going to give it another chance and hopefully it is more positive than the last.

Very good, somewhat limited menu but the quality was first rate, little bit expensive but good value.

I give it four stars because I didn't like the spicy tuna roll which is a basic roll in any sushi restaurant. It didn't taste fresh at all.

However the Flames Roll was absolutely delicious! The Tonkatsu bowl was very comforting and almost like homemade flavour, very good.

The ambiance is really nice and they have some private rooms where you can sit at the floor. I don't know if you have to book them first or what. We were offered to sit at the tables or the bar and we chose the bar. But we didn't know the bar was the boats kind one, so you really don't see the sushi making.

If I'm again in the area I would totally eat here again.

Their Bento Box is always excellent and solid value. SG is my 'go to' Japanese restaurant.

Worst Japanese food ever! The assorted Sashimi that I ordered was like just took out from the fridge! Slices were so thin and not fresh, totally not worth the money! For the sushi that I ordered the rice was mushy, and again the stuffs insides were not even close to what sushi should be! Costed me $40 for lunch, totally don t worth the money!

On a budget hit up the lunch special and bump it up with an extra roll. Going all out?

my 'go to' Japanese restaurant when I'm in the mood. good food, good Staff, reasonable price.

Very good place for sushi. Newly renovated dining room, including sushi bar. Takeout is very quick, usually less than 20 minutes. Orders have always been accurate.

We have been coming to Sushi Ginza since they opened and have never been disappointed. The service in house is excellent, friendly and efficient. We often do take out and get the same great service. The menu is varied so you can have other dishes if someone in your group doesn't like fish. The pieces used for Nigiri and Sashimi are large and very good quality fish. The rolls are well made and nothing falls apart when you pick it up. Highly recommend.

Hubby and I swung in to order to go. We had a hard time deciding and the staff member who helped us was awesome. He was very friendly and even offered us a table to sit at and brought us water. When we got home the sushi ( paired perfectly with trashy movies and sweatpants) was amazing. Thanks again for everything.

Amazing food! I have a soy allergy and they went above and beyond by marking all of the sushi that had soy in it. Surprisingly most of them are soy-free! Definitely going to come back again.

No handicap access doors. Besides the servers who kept getting sent to clean tables when I was clearly waiting to order after I told one of the 2 managers I was in a hurry. I ask for sushi from the bar but they said I can t. I order the sushi and it sits there while the managers chit chat. I had to stand up from the table and wave one over and ask him to check if it was my order. It was. I have to do take away and I don t even get soy sauce. One star is generous.

The rotating table is fun. Get to talk to people around you. Neat interior space. Relatively quite space to enjoy food and time. Definitely recommended for valentines who want to try a bit Asian flavor.

I love this place. Every time I go I'm treated to excellent service and amazing food. If you feel like over indulging, sit at the sushi boat bar! Can't wait until I can go back again.

Definately the best sushi place in town. The best staff, awesome tea, on point staff. Hard to keep me away from here. Recommend trying the tropical paradise roll, I eat it last as desert.

This by far is the BEST sushi in Calgary! I have been coming here for many years. The sushi is the best offered in our city. It's consistently delicious and the menu is the perfect balance between traditional rolls and some unique recipes. The customer service is top notch. Whether i go for lunch with the kids, out with a friend or date night with my husband, it is always the perfect venue. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Sushi Ginza!!
