Sundance is beautiful! It's fun to visit in the summer and winter. The lift runs all year so whether you are a skier, mountain biker, or vista viewer, you'll have a great time. There's food options too and we've always had great customer service. Great day trip.
Beautiful, serene resort with a wonderful restaurant and fabulous Sunday brunch.
Great place to board. Beautiful area. Only down side is they have an employee that if married that keeps hitting on me.
Natural beauty abounds. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cabins are fully equipped and comfortable.
Definitely not one of the premier resorts in Utah, but it has its place and is still a fun place to ski. It's generally pretty quite, has mostly beginner runs and prices aren't astronomical. The biggest thing it has going for it is that it's the closest resort for those in Provo or the rest of Utah Valley.
I had a great time skiing at Sundance. It is a smaller resort, but there is still plenty of acreage to explore. The staff were all friendly and seemed to be having a good time. Food was also excellent.
I really liked that they had a small shack to get tickets in the parking lot and then the lot was really close to the lift.
I have a season pass at Sundance so I'm a regular at the various food spots. The food is actually pretty good - if you want something that will go easy on your wallet, head to the deli. If you want a view and a great burrito head up to the Bearclaw.
I think we just went at the wrong time of year to be fair.
Halloween lift wasn't scary at all. Staff were nice, beautiful view
Beautiful resort. Not much to do for younger kids, but fun for older.
Corduroy snow, bountiful sun, small crowds, and world class vistas of Mt Timponogos make the experience here memorable.
Everyone was fantastic! We felt so welcoming! It was so beautiful! Caleb was great! The concierge and front desk team were very sweet.
The gentleman that has been there for along time that works the booth out front to direct us on where to go, he is the best! He is the biggest fan of Sundance Resort!
Thank You!
Skiing was great. Food at the lodge was delicious. Plus the brownie at Foundry grill was amazing.
We went on the chairlift, the resort is beautiful and the staff were friendly.
The food at The Tree Room was absolutely incredible. Hands down the most flavorful steak I have ever eaten. Will certainly be returning.
We stayed in a darling, quiet cottage, and ate at the foundry grill for breakfast and the Tree room for dinner. The food was divine, the scenery spectacular, and we loved the hiking and zip tour. Andrew and David we're excellent guides and made us all feel safe and cared for. Would definitely recommend it for a relaxing and romantic getaway!
Really incredible place. Good food and beautiful surroundings. However, they clearly screwed up room charges on my brother's and our rooms by several hundred dollars, and it took nearly an hour to straighten things out.
My friend and I had a great experience eating lunch in the outdoor dining area. She and I have been here on three different occasions and have had wonderful experiences each time. The servers and cashiers are always friendly and willing to help. I will come back here more often.
I love Sundance. It has easy and difficult places to ski. The food is very good. The people are very kind.
The most friendly and experienced staff I have ever meet.
Just passing through. Beautiful scenery. Restaurants look nice.
After skiing, my wife and I grabbed a drink from the Owl bar. The bartender was excellent at making drinks and getting you a new drink quickly. The bar was clean and had a great atmosphere.
Came up here to the Nordic center to go cross country skiing. It was an awesome experience, despite all of the times I fell down.
Sundance is a special place. If you have a chance to be here at the beginning of the snow season, you are in for some amazing views and fantastic services. Now if you really like the mountains, get a cabin and really enjoy the fresh air and a great time. Please take a lots of pictures and share the good ones.
Harvest market was super crowded because it was awesome
Beautiful resort. Take a lift ride up the mountain in the warm months. Kind of a small place for skiers though.
Such a special and fun resort. I love spending time here. Its one of the few resprts that still feels old school and quaint. Such a cool canyon to visit and hit the hills. Took my skibyk up there and had a blast!!
Nice setting, good service, ok food, fun place to visit.
Ok, it is beautiful but to come there for skiing is a waste compared to other nearby resorts. Limitied number of runs and VERY old fashioned lifts. The Flathead lift crosses some really steep black runs and had NO bar to keep you safe!!! I More
We hiked to Stewart Falls and then had lunch at the Deli. It was a fun and beautiful morning.
Sundance Foundry Grill has amazing and healthy food for breakfast, lunch and dinner
Slopes were cool. Some of the staff was super helpful and some others were super rude. 50/50 on what kind staff you ll get.
Short drive.. enjoy skiing or just relax with a beer
Went for the harvest festival with friends.Had a good time but did have to wait 10+ minutes for my son's french fries at the sundance food truck.
Best scenery while mountain biking ever! Great trails, great food, and great service!
INSANELY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Absolutely EVERYTHING was top-notch; from the room to the staff to the food to the setting!! I don't how they do it, but the service, attitudes, and amount of wonderful people they hire makes for one of the most pleasant stays we've ever experienced!! GREAT JOB, SUNDANCE!!
Great little place to ski and get kids on skis! Friendly staff and easy rentals!
They really do need to think about trading boots and skis for snow boots though, not very convenient to putt all the gear down with kids and try and get a locker located outside. But the snow is great and the instructors are awesome!!
Location is interesting, the traffic into and out is horrendous.
Had lunch at the Foundry Grill. All of our sandwiches were delicious and the service was excellent.
It was a great experience! We love Sundance. The resort is perfect to experience the adventure of skiing. Once you park your car there is a shuttle to take you to the main entrance and you can get your equipment.
If it is your first time they will assist you and guide you thought the whole process. They are very supportive and kind.
Once you are ready they bring you to a little cozy area where you meet your instructor and we got the BEST! Her name is JOE she has been skiing since she is 2 years old . She is fantastic! She explained everything in detail and we practiced a lot. We laugh had fun and learn so much.
The food is DELICIOUS! Specially the Salmon! It is a truly delight.
If you want to have a blast you most come here. Sundance also offers lessons and they have great delas!
I really enjoyed the Sundance Mountain Resort. I traveled alone for a little R&R and the scenery and skiing was breathtaking (I was there the tail-end of the Sundance Film Festival). I got a massage there that was one of my best and dined at Tree House, Owl Bar, and Foundry Grille - all wonderful and a great vibe. I particularly liked the live music. A few things I would have liked where it fell short of a 5 star rating: there wasn't a comfy public area to sit in front of a fire and read. If you are not skiing or don't want to sit in your suite, this was a bit of a let down. I do like being able to veg in a public setting while relaxing at a resort. My suite was adorable and cozy. I love the story behind Robert Redford's relationship with Sundance and that he requests to keep 2 of the restaurants private (no photos). That said, while I appreciate his connection didn't love that I had 4 different photos of him and his movies in my suite. I think one would be enough, but the public areas and suites really lay on the Robert Redford effect thick. If he wants to minimize the celebrity attraction in the restaurants, the same would be nice in the suites. It was a bit of an ode to Redford. The suite TVs need upgrades. It was old school cable and with such a strong connection to Sundance and Redford, having Smart TVs where you could stream movies of choice seems obvious. I found out later that there were 2 yoga classes hosted while I was there - I didn't receive anything from the staff telling me nor could find it online. Would have loved to attend. The walk from my suite to the base was about 5-7 minutes. I didn't mind so much but when you arrive at the base and realize you have to get something back in your room it is a 15 min trip back and forth (and quite uphill) Lastly, many of the staff members were unknowledgeable about simple things.
I had my skis stored in the "ski valet" and I had to ask 3 staff members where that was (the ski shop had no idea where it was). I received different responses on the availability of ubers early Sunday morning, and the staff at the spa were unaware of some simple questions about the resort. All in all I actually really enjoyed my time there is wish I could have extended, but certainly a few areas to consider for a 5-star rating.
Beautiful setting and buildings. Hometown atmosphere on the mountain.
We had a great experience at the outdoor summer theater at Sundance. The production was very good, and the atmosphere can't be beat. My only complaints would be the expensive concessions and hard seats.
Sundance is a well put together place with much to like.
Went for Sunday brunch. Great spread, the potatoes au gratin were especially good. Highly recommended
I love visiting beautiful Sundance resort. I had the pleasure of snowshoeing there with family. The rental cost is well worth the price to have quality shoes you don't have to worry about messing with while your out in the snow. The food trucks are nice in the summer as an alternative to the restuarants and deli bar. It's Sundance so be prepared to spend about $20 for a burger if you sit down to eat.
Facility was impeccable and front desk ladies were extremely helpful. Definitely Our favorite place when visiting Idaho
amazing location. great lodging and lots of things to do. very helpful staff.
My family and I walked around the resort. It was great to see the leaves changing and the snow on the peaks of the mountains.
We attended the bearclaw dinner club. The food was amazing. It was worth every penny.
Beautiful resort for a fall stroll. Went up to snap some pics and walk around the resort. Was a great spot to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Bellisimo. Place to share com Flia, friends or go in, couple. It has place of musical events, cinema, cafeteria and restaurant Miy good
Went for a game night with some friends who were staying here and I was really impressed. It's a great resort.
Our cottage is quaint and comfortable. The staff is very nice and accommodating.
My wife won a trip to come here. It was amazing! We even saw Robert Redford in the Owl Bar (they ask you not to take photos). Great food, hospitable staff, beautiful accommodations, and amazing scenery. I don't think we would have chosen to go here if it wasn't all expenses paid but I didn't regret coming. Go see Stewart Falls in the warm months
I LOVE Sundance. Hidden gem. Yeah, OK, no high-speed lifts, but who cares. The scenery is amazing, rustic atmosphere, skiing is good with a lot of expert terrain. Add in dinner at "The Tree Room" after, and you've got a great day. One of my top 10, maybe even top 5. And yes I've traveled pretty extensively. :)
Sundance is one of my favorite resorts. It's definitely not as large as the other resorts, and it doesn't get as much snow, but come on a weekday morning and there are many runs you get to yourself. Front Mountain is great for beginners and there is a small tow line for first timers. There are discount ticket options as well.
This was my second stay at Sundance, and I was excited to return after the first. I wonder if something has changed in Sundance management. We rented two rooms, a Sundance Suite and a Mountain Suite for three nights The initial Mountain Suite provided was full of bugs, (weevils), including a dead weevil in the fold-out on the greying sheets which had been unused for a long time. (But we needed the fold-out.) Later I also learned from my daughter that there were also mouse droppings in the fold-out, but she didn't want her mother to go into complete freak-out so didn't say at the time. Housekeeping brought fresh sheets and they got through the night. (Another in the group in that room had a weevil crawling on her during the night.) In the morning they went on a bug killing spree, we reported it to the front desk and requested extra attention to cleaning of the room, and we went on a hike. Returning from the hike hours later, housekeeping had come and gone, and the weevils were still abundant and obvious. My daughter killed circa 40, piling them on the kitchen floor, but they were still abundant, crawling on the windows and sills, and we then noticed the wasps flying in the rafters. CLEARLY ZERO ATTENTION HAD BEEN PAID TO THE BUGS. We called the front desk again and was offered a choice of someone coming to spray, or moving. We moved. But the second room was also weevil infested, which was immediately visible. Finally, a third room, which was up to standard.
For clarity, here are my three chief complaints. Given the environment, it is understandable if a window or something is left open allowing the entrance of bugs in one unit. It is not understandable in two units. So someone is sloppy. Secondly, it is not understandable in a place like Sundance to request attention to something and then have it clearly ignored. Finally, it is not understandable to be offered the alternative of bug spray, requiring us to live with the spray smell and the dead bugs. The first and only offer should have been a clean room of equivalent or better size.
The surroundings were lovely as usual. The restaurant service, food quality, and wine lists were all fantastic. The rooms provided were like superficially nice hostels. If you want my future patronage, or good reference, it is going to take some attention to this review.
Don't let such a beautiful place founder.
We went to the full moon ski lift ride and the staff was great! The place is very nice in the lodge.
I go skiing there. It is a pretty good mountain but sometimes the snow is kind of bad. The food is too expensive. It is 5 bucks for something i would get for 50 cents at the grocery store
We were in the rehearsal hall and it was nice and warm inside, a nice relief from the cold and snow. We had dinner, it was great and waiters were attentive and make sure you get the vanilla bean cheesecake.
Went skiing. Beautiful day. A little expensive like most resorts.
I was very impressed with all of the employees. They (without exception) were very warm, professional, and inviting.
Your restaurants are delectable. I had the halibut special and absolutely loved it.
The lodging was wonderful, and the extra touch of your soaps and glasses made onsite made it all the better.
I was the guest artist in the Art Studio and I thouroughly enjoyed myself as I demonstrated my process. Megan in the Art Studio is such a talented, kind person and I enjoyed my time with her.I can't wait to take classes there.
As an artist I think that your guest artist program is such a wonderful thing and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to share my art with your guests.
Gorgeous property, great service. Spacious and beautiful mountain suite. View from the top of the ski lifts is incredible. Highly recommend the property!
We went to Sundance for a zipline tour and had a great time. There was some confusion with getting there and checking in, but once we got there, the views were unbeatable.
The lift prices are fair. It's close to Utah county and beautiful.
It really is impossible to express how fantastic this resort is. The staff is friendly and helpful, the facilities are perfect, down to the bath soaps and bed linens, and the food is amazing - even the burritos in the Bear Claw cabin at the top of the mountain. Every single minute we spend there is amazing.
I love to snowboard here. It isn't as large as the other resorts but still has some excellent snow and runs!
Great things about Sundance:
1. It is not very far up the canyon and really easy to get to.
2. It is free to go park and just enjoy the beautiful trees and spaces
3. There are lots of paved paths and roads (stroller friendly) you can walk on that take you to private spaces
4. There is delicious food
5. Awesome mountain biking for different skill levels
6. Great skiing
7. The ski lift is available all year round for people to ride and enjoy the nature.
8. Leaves you with the option to go drive the alpine loop which begins just above the parking lots
