It's an awesome place, in a awesome town, with awesome people. They let me hang out after the tour and play my guitar in the studio and even gave me a free coke! One of the guys even drove me down to Beale St cause I missed my ride. Just an cool place. Will be returning next year. MEMPHIS ROCKS!!!

Don t try to find parking around the back of the building. The lots are owned by UTennessee Medical School and their police force will have your car towed (friendly tip from someone who works in one of the buildings). Also, please don t speed through the lots. Scientists are often walking to or from work and not thinking about tourists NEEDING to see the studio.

Small but mighty. See where Elvis started and where Cash, Orbison, and many others visited. Where U2 recorded "Rattle and Hum". The walls drip with history and if you are a fan of Rock N' Roll you will not be disappointed.

Sancta sanctorum, walhalla, gotha, eden, apex, and all that refers to the maximum of maximums
Holy place of pilgrimage for anyone who says music lover!
Think of a total emotion, it is nothing compared
You are totally catapulted into a parallel dimension, a stargate.
Everything is strictly original
The microphone of Elvis's first recordings
Johnny Cash's guitar
Jerry Lee's plan
The Sam Phillips studio, the original door
Mind-boggling vinyl, some even with the same prices, but amply justified by the historicity and uniqueness of the copy.
For those who do not like music it is exaggerated, but believe me, when I found myself with the first recording of Elvis in the left and the first of Cash in the right, I could not hold back the tears
It feels like a greedy child in the best pastry in the world, with every dessert available
It is an experience that remains in your heart
I forgot, amazing gadgets
I recommend taking a nice coffee, to drink at the counter, maybe sitting on the stool where he usually sat Johnny or Elvis, in red leather, with the name embroidered .....
Better to stop here, the emotions come back ......

Sun Studio is a must when in memphis. However as the studio is so small they need to make the groups going through allot smaller. We were cramped in the room upstairs and not quite able to see the images as the guide told the stories. We loved our tour guide he had lots of energy. After paying $14 for a ticket to stand in a room and move in small circles I find it awkward that they ask for tips post tour.

This place rocks! Friendly staff, so much old school music history, lots of artifacts, and plenty to learn about the artists who recorded here as well as the man behind it all - Sam Phillips! 5 stars
