The place that Elvis got started. Incredible history and relatively unchanged. Glad we went there.

We just had a few minutes to stop by, but it was worth it. Wanted to see the tour. Maybe next time I'm in Memphis. Love seeing all the records on the wall and the soda fountain bar.
My wife had the most amazing time. Our guide provided a great backstory while our group praroused the exibits. His demeanor and tone carried during the entire tour. Make sure you can stand for an hour and can climb the stairs. Place was awesome Would go again if closer.
So much history in this one place. Also Mark was a great tour guide.
Very exciting to enter the studios where they recorded great names in music
I loved this tour. Many times it seems like a snooze fest to go listen to fact after fact. It's a very laid back and easy going kind of tour. It's told as if it's a story and not a list of things to tell. They also do a great job incorporating the actual music and that was made into the tour. It was a neat touch. I think our tour guide gave an excellent tour and kept it engaging with humor and not droning on and on. I apologize for forgetting his name but it was truly excellent. It's a really neat place where history was made!
What an experience! Loved our tour guide lady. Lana was awesome! She made us feel the experience!
Amazing place to visit and soak in some musical history! Staff was very friendly and helpful, lots of souvenirs to choose from as well as guided tours every hour or so. Wasn't able to get a tour unfortunately, but did score some classic Jonny cash vinyl and a tshirt! Place oozed history. Camt wait to visit again and take that tour!!
Elvis Parsley's First studio to record his songs. They are keeping the studio as it is when Elvis roam around. good to see.
If like the history of music this is a place to go. Rock and roll got its start here. Very interesting tour. Learned a lot about who recorded here and how long it was open. Learned how Elvis got discovered.
Lana Deering! Thanks for the invite to see you come out of retirement. I think we were treated to an experience.
Oh. Yeah. Sun Studio. Again, we were treated to an experience. This is where it began. I wish there would have been less people.
Got to learn alot about Elvis and a whole bunch of old time singers
It gets 3 stars just because it is a highly sought out tourist attraction with interesting pieces of history. However the building is extremely stuffy and not as well lit as it should've been. The tour guide while he was knowledgeable wasn't exactly making the visit there as fulfilling as it could've been. The experience was very lackluster.
Forget Graceland, if you go to Memphis TN you've gotta experience the magic and vibes at SUN Studios... it's fantastic. Could have stayed there for days.
Sun studio visit was just like a visit back in time it was wonderful
Birthplace of Rock'n'Roll! Less commercial and more authentic than Graceland.
Our guide, Alana (I think that was her name) was awesome!
The tour is a bit put on and artificial, would be mor interested in just the history.
Tour guide was fabulous and all the staff were really friendly. Well worth a visit.
Altough I don't own a note on physical formats by any of the Gentlemen, with a capital G, who recorded here this was a must for me. A landmark and the start of modern music as we know it. The museumpart of the studio isnt that big but the guy who gives information tells its story with so much fire and verve that this is a extra+
If you are a fan of early blues and rock n roll this should be a destination you want to go to. The tour is fun and informative. And you get to hang out in the actual studio. A must do for any bucket list. It's not as touristy as Graceland and feels more personal.
Sun Studio is an amazing piece of American History that is completely accessible to the public. They even let you take selfies with a microphone that could have even been used by Elvis Presley himself. Every tour guide I have been with has been extremely knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Good selection of merchandise & cute little soda/milkshake bar.
This was so interesting to learn about the artist that started here. I would recomend it for anyone visiting Memphis.
Ah great to see where it all happened John neary ireland
Wow. Unbelievable experience. To walk into the same, unchanged studio that Howlin' Wolf, BB King, Elvis, Jerry Lee and Johnny Cash first recorded. And to hold the microphone that Elvis sang through, to touch the ivorys of the studio piano that still bears the cigar scar from Jerry Lee Lewis - It was truly a magical experience.
Tour guide was awesome - such passion for the history of the music and the studio.
Wife surprised me with a recording session there after the tour. Matt, the recording engineer, was absolutely fantastic and patient. An experience that I will never ever forget.
Thank you Sun Studios staff! You guys are great!!!
The Sun Studio tour was outstanding! Our tour guide was Tiffany @ the 2:30 tour. Knowledgeable, passionate and truly loving the history of the studio. What an experience! This is a MUST visit in Memphis!
This is a good tour of the studio where Elvis started his career. The tour guide was excellent. I wish I could remember her name.
Something else to see where Elvis was first discovered!
Great tour the information given was well delivered by the guide very informative.
A place to get goose bumps with the great musicians that have already been there, a must see
If standing in a studio where Elvis did his early recording would be exciting, then do this. Otherwise, save your 30 minutes and $14. You don't learn any history you can't learn other places, and the photographs and other memorabilia are pretty thin. Go to Stax records for a real museum, lots more music, and no annoying tour guide.
Was really impressed and it wasn't even on the "Got to See while in Memphis "!!!
Had almost a spiritual experience here. The fact that not much has changed, including the panels on the wall or marks on the floor, adds so much to the feeling here. An amazing stop, by far the best on our trip
Authentic records, music, tour, coffee, and memorabilia available
If you are in the area this is a must. Very interesting place and very informative guides
What a great experience to walk through the steps that Elvis took. Jeff the tour guide was awesome. We got to touch the mike that Elvis used back in 1953 !
I really enjoyed seeing where the original rock and roll stars were born. There was a lot of original equipment, and the ceiling and walls in the studio still had the original acoustics. The gift shop had items that had the original sun label. Having a large Colletion of 78s, 45s it was a real treat for me to see some of the original equipment
Very interesting tour of the studio where Elvis originally began his recording career. They have maintained the historic quality of the studio and even have the actual recording booth with the original equipment right down to the acoustic tiles used during Elvis's recordings. They have original music by Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and others. You really learn a lot about Elvis and his early days. They have even rescued the original DJ booth where the singers were interviewed and their albums played on the radio. The tours begin on the half hour and last about 45 minutes and tickets cost $16.00. The only negatives are that the tours are packed and it can get extremely warm in the building. There are also 2 sets of steps that have to be navigated. Another interesting fact is that Sun Studios is still an actual recording studio and you can rent the space for 5 hours at $1000.00.
