The food and service were beyond our expectations. I surely liked the ambience of this place. Extraordinary restaurant to take the family out for lunch.

Staff made us feel welcome. Not a giant resort, but fun for a family.
Like the terrain but have never caught a powder day.
Lift ticket prices, like the majority of ski resorts, are ridiculous. Two adults and two kids, plus gas and food will cost over $600 for the day. That sounds like fun.
Awesome place to have something when in a rush. The service is efficient, prices are convenient, awesome ambience. Highly recommended
They get 5 super duper stars for school spirit! I learned here, and they used to offer great beginner snowboarding packages (they might still do). And there are just lots of snowboarders here, I think my teacher grew up around John Cardiel when he was young! The only downsides: not sure if there is good public transportation here, and the food is standard ski fare, but it is OK to bring your delicious Indian vegetarian rotis and samosas and Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches and delicious French cheese in fresh baguettes with slices of basil or Italian snack breads with spices from the Bay Area and stuff them in the locker.
Sugar bowl is one of my favorite resorts. Friendly staff and less crowds make it a really good experience for me. The tri-mountain setup is really nice too - plenty of great runs and well maintained
Took a hike on the Mt. Judah loop trail. Nicely maintained, good views, not too crowded. Good for a half day for active people, maybe a full day for those with kids
Awesome area oldest in the Sierra Tahoe region my 1st love is here
Sugar Bowl is a great place to ski if you like the quality and variety of a large ski resort with a hometown family feeling. Every employee we encountered was friendly, helpful and positive. The Jonah Lodge has great food, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, a fireplace and a lively bar. The rental process is efficient with great service. The ski/boarding school and instructors are great. My son took his first snow boarding lesson and by the afternoon was turning and will be ready for intermediate terrain the next time we go. I also like the flexibility of types of lift ticket options, they have a cheaper beginner lifts only ticket great for beginners! We live in the Auburn area so it's only an hour away. Lastly we really like the community of people who ski there.
The best sky resort, small and contains everything.
Very good, I recommend it even more if it snows strong
I used to work at Sugarbowl. It used to be a great place with friendly service and they used to be very employee supportive. Now things have changed so its all about profits. I went today to have fun with my husband, who is an employee, but got turned away, for the second time, due to no one being able to sign off on my pass. We don't live close and I had taken the day off. Very disappointed that they make it impossible for family to enjoy such a nice ski resort. Hopefully they can return to times gone by and treat everyone as a valued patron, even if its a lowly relation to an employee.
Nice area. Never to busy. Expect delays of there is heavy snow fall.
I would like to say I love it but that will ruin it by getting more people to come here. If it becomes crowded, it would not be great anymore!
Shhhhh, no one knows how good the snow is here.. Plus, they haven't figured out that there are condos for sale, either.. Don't tell anyone. Just call in sick to work on the next powder day and see for yourself..
Great old time vibe with great skiing despite the Sierra cement!
Awesome slopes. Have to come back sometime in the future.
Potential for great snow but unfortunately also potential for terrible traffic
Suger bowl is unique experience at a level above the other resorts nearby. First, a gondolla (approx. 8 to 15 min. Ride) tAkes you to the mountains and lodge. When you exit the gondolla you smell sweet pastries hence suger bowl " clever". Anyway the trails are great even for advance skiers there's plenty of lengthy black diamond opportunity to satisfy. If you are just starting to ski I wouldn't recommend because you won't see a lot of sugur bowls greatness and the spread may be a confusing. Go to nearby smaller resorts till you learn how to ski and all the things you'll need to do and know to appreciate this level of mountain resort. It's appreciated that people know and practice things such as ---getting on/off lift, handling crowded lines, line ediquet knowing trail symbols, rentals, lodging, proper layering clothes. One person unable to ski safely into lift line or load onto lift properly can really hold up and irritate others in line. So, I recommend suger bowl for those who have skiing basics/edicate to get the full experience that sugur bowl has to offer. Ps. "you don't want to find yourself at a black double diamand when your skill is green circle.)" The prices are more than nearby resorts paying for more mountain skill levels and less chance of getting mowed down by out of control first timer. "Yes most skiers can relay a skiing, OMG , so sorry , owe, mishap. And some skiers are old enough and wise enough to know there always risks. Getting mowed down, and lifts that continually stop due to rider mishaps best minimized for greater skiing enjoyment. Been the done that ... It's all good. Suger bowl =good times good memories.
Thank you

Wow WOW
Best experience at the best price performance in North Tahoe
The food was amazing and the mountain was great for my family and I to go skiing. Great atmosphere for families to have fun.
I love sugar bowl!!! Great place with awesome lifts and slopes. Staff is very friendly.
Love the varied terrain and smaller crowds here. Great instructors too!
Great Ski Mountain, but as long as places like this continue to gauge skiers and snowboarders with asinine pricing I will never give them 5 starts. The price of slopes nowadays has made it next to impossible for low income people to enjoy. It used to be a great family trip but when it costs over 400 for a family of four to ski for a day it's pretty absurd.
This is the closest big resort to the bay area, and as such I have been there dozens of times for snowboarding. They have a ton of really fun runs, for any experience level. My favorites are Silver Belt, Fuller's Folly, Carl's Nose, Disney's Nose (when it isn't icy), Silver Belt, and Rahlves' Run.
Shred sug nasty, best on blue bird days. Also build a better park, a few 30 ft tables would be nice!
Very fun and awesome place for snowboarding! In my experience, the mountain staff are very courteous and always willing to help you by directing you to the best snow or just to navigate the resort. The mountain(s) itself offers loads of terrain and the runs are very fun with beautiful views. The lift lines are very rarely long - definitely not as long as other resorts (i.e. Squaw). I bought a season pass this year and I plan on renewing for years to come since I don't really see myself ever getting "bored" with this mountain! Come out and shred!
Great family friendly resort, good powder. Runs not as big/long as some of bigger resorts but no-nonsense just about skiing.
I really loved this resort. It was a bit confusing at first but overall it was AMAZING
Great trails
Great veiws
Love this place!!!
Best skiing in Tahoe without the crowds and family friendly.
Love this place. Convenient from Bay area. Fun terrain, good for kids.
Great family resort, always nice people on the chair lifts. I've been getting a season pass and going up every weekend for too many years to count.
3rd day at Sugarbowl and couldn't be more perfect! Staff here is fantastic & food is better than most ski lodge fare. You can't beet coming downstairs from your room and putting on the skis! Sugarbowl is Awesome!!
Wonderful snow and staff. Lesson for an Adult was great.
Great place to avoid most of the crowds...short lift lines and a good variety of terrain.
Gondola was pretty cool and I'm looking forward to going back next year
Pretty well maintained, but laid-back atmosphere. Never had to wait more than a minute for a chairlift. Cafeteria is fairly reasonable and glad that they have at least a couple vegetarian entrees. Bathrooms are kept really clean and it is nice that they even have complimentary feminine hygiene products in the ladies room. Seems like there is a good mix of both young and old and everything in between, as far as other patrons are concerned. My only piece of constructive criticism is it I would like to see a little bit more in the way of patrols out there on the mountain....
Amazing resort with a wide variety of runs and terrain types for multiple skill levels. Well groomed slopes and a number of lifts make this a great place to spend the weekend. Also not a bad drive if coming from San Francisco.
One of my favorite resorts in Tahoe. Feels less "corporate" and more personal and friendly than most others. Snow is usually pretty good and the location is perfect if you want to avoid traffic.
Mountain terrain is great, staff is friendly. The only thing is that they struggle to open things after storms it takes sometimes 3 or 4 days for them to dig the lifts at the top of the mountain out.
Pleasure hiking through the pine forest on the PCT; mild grade, and fairly easy approach to Donner Peak and base of Mount Lincoln!
Such a friendly place to ski. A couple of weeks ago my binding broke while skiing my 1st run of the day. I was stuck at the top of a run on a hard packed day. It was too steep for me to walk down without sliding/falling down the slope. I had to be "rescued" by ski patrol. The Sugar Bowl Ski Patrol members were amazing! They not only got me out of my precarious position (safely on a sled), but also hooked me up with rental skis to use for the rest of the day (comped). I don't know that any other Tahoe resort would have comped me skis to continue on with my day. Great family friendly resort!
My first visit to Sugar Bowl and favorite snowboarding experience so far
Lodges are clean, rooms are nice, food is good but slightly overpriced. The lift ticket cost a lot, but the rentals are cheap, reliable, and, dare I say, nice.
Went to Sugar Bowl on a weekday and the skiing was great. However, the restaurant, which was advertised to be open until 4:00 PM closed at 3:00 PM. Not only was the grill closed, but all of the prepackaged food and drinks were also unavailable. I understand if use is down, to close down the kitchen, but how hard is it to keep a register open so basics are available. My family and I were stuck with chips and candy bars, available in the bar which was still open. In the time we were there, we saw at least four other groups try to enter the restaurant. Seems like a very short sided decision on management's part. The major reason we go to Sugar Bowl is the half an hour we save driving to Northstar, I think the next time we decide on where to purchase passes, we will bite the bullet and make the drive.
A great place just miles away from Lake Tahoe and minutes away from numerous lakes. Great views all around.
Awesome, friendly staff and welcoming to families. Easy parking, vast resort.
It had been about 20 YEARS since I skied @ Sugarbowl & the changes are simply #AMAZING! I have to admit that the gondola ride used to be one of my favorite parts, but I LOVED EVERY MINUTE THERE!!!
Better snow compared to other North lake Tahoe resorts. All express lifts.
Fun slopes beautifully nested into the mountains with a view of the lake.
This spot is worth trying. They have big portions for fair rates. Constantly neat and with awesome vibes. Will come visit again.
Wonderful place, incredible views, nice atmosphere, kid-friendly
I learned how to ski here. The staff is friendly and skiing is good as long as there is snow on the ground.
This is a great ski and snowboard resort. I had a blast trying out snowboarding for the first time!
Good place. The snow was awful today, but that happens. ;)
Facilities are not as good as Northstar and Loofah, overall difficulty, suitable for intermediate level
Nice runs, well groomed, tickets definity cheaper than the nearby resorts (Northstar, Squaw). No shuttle from the parking lot but the walk is not too long. Food prices at the lodge are abysmal, I recommend to bring your own.
Not too crowded, great backside and off trail terrain.
I work for suddenlink installing and repairing cable in this resort and the staff here are great and nice to me I visit there very often and Bryan on the phone is nice and helps every time I call for a tractor ride to my customer do they are excellent here!!
Sugar bowl is a great family friendly ski resort with tubing nearby. It was the day before New Year s Eve when we were there and their parking lots were all full. I wouldn t recommend going near a holiday but otherwise it s a great place for the entire family.
You must visit Sugar Bowl. If you are a beginner, intermediate, snowboarder, you MUST take a lesson with Sean Baker. He is absolutely the best instructor I have EVER had the pleasure of meeting. I signed my son "Sean" up for a class and he was ripping up the mountain after only 1 lesson with Sean (the teacher). This is the type of instructor that leeds people coming back to this resort. I can't thank him enough for helping my son have the time of his life. We are and always will be loyal fans of Sugar Bowl...THANK YOU SEAN...see you on the mountain.
