Just love being here. Can't tell you how many great memories I have off this wonderful resort. Don't ever change Sugar Bowl! :^)

Tried this place in the past with a friend and I am hooked since then. I enjoy the awesome ambience and flavorful food and beverages. Fantastic work.
We had a great time, and the medical team was fast and efficient lol
Sugar Bowl is the best resort in the Tahoe area, especially in the North Tahoe/Truckee region. I grew up skiing here, though, so I'm a bit biased. It's never busy, the terrain is diverse and challenging, and they get some of the most snow in the entire area. Love it here!
Great terrain without the crowds. Love the old school vibe of the Village Lodge.
Lots of diverse terrain for all levels from beginner to expert.
My favorite ski resort in Tahoe. Great blend of beginner and expert runs for me. The terrain park isn't always as fleshed out as it could be but still decent. Lincoln and Disney are my favorite mountains.
Expected better hospitality for guests. Based on their fee schedule, they clearly cater to locals.
This used to be our favorite place to go! The mountain is still top notch but the management is out of whack! Such a better resort when it was ran by Rob Kautz!
Great people, great resort. Lots of activities for families and groups, and excellent lodges to relax and recharge yourself. Terrain is rather advanced especially the Lincoln and Crow's Peaks; however, the Judah and Disney areas have plenty of intermediate terrain for everyone. Their pass deal is about the best available anywhere in the Tahoe area.
A bit tired and rough around the edges, but prices are ok and closer to SF than most other ski "resorts"
Great mountain, operations, lift ops, friendly courteous, professional. Lodge is nice, restaurant employees seemed pretty frazzled. We also had a weird interaction with Jack the new ceo, we had been waiting a while for help with our bags when he walked by. Another guest showed up and the ceo mistook him for a sugar bowl home owner, he practically shoved us out of the way so he could introduce himself and help this other guest, who turned out to be just a normal customer like us. It left a really poor impression.
I prefer this resort to North Star and other ski resorts because it s less crowded, harder to get lost in, cheaper, and is much prettier. It is smaller, but still has a great variety of ski slopes and good food. I really enjoy the drive up to this resort because it s so much more beautiful.
I would recommend this ski resort to all people who know how to ski and aren t extremely hardcore about their ski slopes.
This place has gone down hill since Rob Kautz stepped down, worked here for 7 years and loved it up until the 2016-17 season. Sucks to see such a great place go bad.
The right man were great and the views are beautiful
Access is excellent thanks to closeness to a freeway that is easy to drive on. Trails are ok. Food is so so. Parking is an absolute disaster on days with good snow: limited park lot space and very bad shuttle service from parking to lifts.
Awesome mountain just wish it wasn't so expensive, otherwise it would be an easy 5 star. Parking can be tuff at times but as long as the snow falls I will go as often as I can.
Best place to ski, super friendly people and great runs for my 3 year old.
Pow ....Sugar bowl for the first time there was kool with a k very good terrain awsome bowls with trees .. disney express to mount juda 3 to 4 feet powder couldnt ask for anything more except for you could not see the awsome veiws....mountain man
Everything was great will be back definitely love the place
Sugar Bowl is like Northstar was in the late 80s. All high speed lifts, little to no crowds. Love it!
Absolutely amazing! From the lady at the front desk to the bartender to the staff on the mountain, simply amazing. I highly reccomend this place to anyone!
Keep this in mind if you're coming out to Tahoe, it's a family owned resort, tad less expensive, great location to catch snow, lots of blue and relatively easy black runs if that's your pleasure. No casinos out that way, no traffic either. Shortest drive from sac or the bay. Great for kids and families.
Please don't tell anybody that I love the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort because I don't want them to go! No lift lines.
Normally a great resort. Can only give it 4 stars because of the lack of snow and they do a poor job marking obstacles. Harriots Hollow should be closed dirt and stumps in the middle of the runs. Dangerous if you have kids. Lift prices too high for the lack of snow but there were no lines
The resort has a great area for young kids to learn to ski ( as young as two) under the supervision of parents or ski instructors. You can rent kids equipment within a large tent structure setup just for children.
There is a special area for parking: turn left when reaching the resort following the "children area" sign.
Awesome terrain and not as crowded as a lot of places in Tahoe. Love the old school vibes but still had some nicer amenities as well. Staff was super friendly too
By far our favorite place to ski. We feel safe and the staff always have smiles on their faces
The staff was friendly and the terrain was well groomed. Great first time skiing experience!
Was a gorgeous day filled with fun! Even loosing my key fob on the mountain didn't ruin the day. There was a happy ending to that... A week later someone found it and sugar bowl contacted me and sent it to me...best part is it still works! Great customer service!
This visit was a mess. Their beginner lifts were down in the Village, so they shuttled folks from there to the Judah side via 4 person atv. Our friends waited over 30minutes just for one to show up. He ended up driving himself and his son in theor own car. I put my daughter and her friend into a beginner ski lesson, only to find out that the instructor assigned had gone home earlier in the day due to a family thing. You'd think they would've reassigned us as soon as he left. Anyway, they scrambled and found a replacement... 15 minutes after our start time (1hr lesson). The instructor was great though. However, my daughter and her friend were the last lesson of the day (3PM to 4PM) and yet we still had to buy lift tickets for them even though there were no beginner lifts running in the Village and they never left the bunny area. I wouldn't complain if they actually rode a lift... but in an hour class at the end of the day, what's the point of charging me if your beginner lift is down? Another thing is that the rental equipment staff, while very helpful and nice when around, pretty much disappeared after I turned in the rental skiis. I went upstairs with their boots and helmets after being told i would get "scanned out" and just dumped them in the piles.. because that's what another renter did after he had no contact with any Staff either. I used to ski Sugar Bowl in my younger days and liked it. I'm probably never going back at after this experience. 2 Stars just because the staff were always pleasant when they were around. Operationally though, I'd give them a zero.
Awesome ski resort with something for skiers of ALL levels, and the best and friendliest staff EVER!!
Great trail running. Love running along ridgelines :)
Waitress could ve been a lot nicer, especially since I specifically asked for no onions in my gyro. A bit condescending. Also confused as to why my vegetables in my gyro were lukewarm.
Been here many times over the last 10+ years. Great place for snow fun of snowboarding and skiing. Prices are good, compared to other large resorts like Squaw or Northstar that chargke 2 arms and a leg. They groom a lot of runs and have some great double black diamonds with huge cliffs and a steep access cave. Black diamonds are great, many groomed and several left natural for all you mogul lovers. Race course is setup a lot and basically has its own express lift. 5x main express lifts, Crows Peak is awesome new terrain they added a couple years ago, normal slow speed lift but its for advanced riders only, and can have epic untouched powder if you find it. Lots of open terrain and good tree runs not too dense with trees where your scared to crash into them. The food in snack bars and restaurants can be hit or miss, ive gotten great food and also mediocre food, but i dont come for food, normally bbq my own in parking lot. Parking is good, rarely ever have to park too far away.
Great people! Nelly is a great snowboarding instructor. She was quite patient and made the learning experience awesome.
This is a gateway to the backcountry. The ridge between Mt Lincoln and Anderson Peak (in the photo) is a great hike.
Great skiing, easiest access to the mountains from Sac and the Bay, steep and deep to great groomers. Tremendous mountain safety and patrol personnel.
Great people. Huge open runs. Good weather doesn't hurt.
One of my favorites resorts. I don t end up coming very often because of my epic pass but it s a great place to learn to ski or snowboard. The staff is really friendly. It s a bit smaller, but Sugar Bowl and Kirkwood tends to get the most snow. Great place to for family.
Caught it on a couple pow days, broke my ski! Was a beautiful ride until my day ended, at the top of a mountain with one ski... Ill be back to conquer this whole mountain another time. Highly recommended, small and cheap but some great runs!!
Lovely skiing and express chairs. Always a solid option.
For lovers of snow activities this is the right place
There was no available parking when we got there almost on time for the start of the wedding and I know that several family members couldn't get flights to LA due to fires/smoke; I couldn't find a shaded place to sit and it was hot and humid; the grandfather of the groom had to walk out to find some shade and so did I; directions to the exact site of the wedding were sparse; maybe it was a budget issue...
Wonderful variety! Many runs with many skill levels accommodated. Great for kids, even the tots...right up to the most advanced skier. Fantastic food, served fast (not your typical grub). Everyone I met was super friendly and parking was ample. I was here in April so it was the tail end of the season but the runs are super roomy and would never feel jammed. Lifts and lift operators were very nice. Prices were excellent for the value. Highly recommended.
I've been here a few times and haven't had a bad experience yet. It can get crowded, but it's still a lot of fun.
Tough parking unless you go early and plan to spend the whole day there. Mountain is mostly intermediate and expert. Because there is limited green runs they tend to be crowded. Mountain staff is very friendly and helpful. Clean lodges and good food options, and multiple options so even at noon the wait in line was pretty quick.
Moondoe's Coffee Their food is better than the main lodge. Love this place free wifi and the skiing today was the best ever.
Seems awesome after a half-day. Disney lift was down, however. And Judah kept being restarted. Makes me worry about their lift maintenance and how often this happens.
Great mountain - just wish the season pass perks didn't continually get shrunk.
Great family resort, our kids love it. Friendly staff, good mountain with varied retain for all levels of skiiers and boarders.
Nice looking resort. I only walked around in the summertime so cannot comment on the winter activities.
One of my favorite Tahoe snowboarding places. The tree lines and tunnels are spectacular!
