We go to Stuckey every fall for cider, doughnuts, apple butter and other goodies!
Oops should have been 5 stars excellent place for family fun going to pick apples and going to The Rustic Farm Store is nothing but a place of instant lifelong memories.
So we go here every year. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. However, alot of the staff they have are young adults and they are not so friendly. Their pumpkin prices were outrageous. $36 for 3 pumpkins about the size of the ones you get at the grocery store. We enjoy the self pick apples! They have alot to choose from. Their event weekends are really fun. They have a apple cannon which was a big hit with the kiddos! My biggest complaint is prices seem way to high but that is just typical for this type of place.
Really nice farm with l o t s of apple trees and fantastic doughnuts. There weren't any pumpkins in the patch that weren't bad or broken, we searched the whole patch and found the last one. Other than that loved the experience and would definately come back, especially since it's so close to home.
We had such a great day here!! It was our first trip and we will be back for more! New tradition!
The sweet corn was old, that is, it was picked too late (left on the stock too long). We had to throw some of it out. The Indiana watermelon was mostly pitched, too. The rind was excessively thick and there wasn't much melon to it, and what there was wasn't ripe. 0-2. I doubt if we'll be back.
Absolutely one of the best play areas for kids. A tradition for us.
Had a Wonderful time Picking our Own Apples !!! Some HUGE Pumpkins !!!!
Terrible experience! We went there tonight and bought tickets to do the corn maze. Once we got to the maze we noticed mud everywhere. They gave wrist bands, half a crayon and a paper with the purchase. We went up to the cashier and asked for a refund because of all the mud. This lady who helped us gave us so much grief for the refund. She asked for the wrist bands back. Which were on my kids wrist. Said she didn t have scissors to cut them off, so she told our kids to just rip them off. Once she started the refund, I noticed she didn t give the full refund. I asked why she didn t give the full refund and she said I need the half crayons and papers back to give you full credit . I looked at her in total shock. She made my kids get the crayons and papers out of the trash. Are you kidding me?!?! Unbelievable! I will not be going back again. It s a shame! We just wanted a refund because of the mud, plain and simple!
Almost all apples are u-pick. Need to have more ready to buy for those who can't or don't want to pick their own.
This was a wonderful fun place to go for the fall festival. There are lots of things to do and fun to be had. There were playgrounds, a 30 foot tunnel slide, pig races, corn maze, apple cannon, and orchard. There s around 90minutes-3 hours of activities to do depending on if you do them all and how long you do them for. The festival was 13.50 per person and under 2 years old is free. They have you pick pumpkins for $10 each for a pumpkin (regardless of the size). There is also a hay ride tractor that is always running. The corn maze is a good size but not too big as to get too lost or bored. It took around 15-20 minutes to walk through. At this time of year (10/12) there were very few apples left to self pick due to a frost earlier in the month. They have plenty of already picked apples left along with delicious apple cider and apple cider donuts.
Not impressive as it sounds. Been to many orchards which are ran better and have more activities available. Drove a hour and spent more time there walking to the sunflowers area then we spent there
General admission is a joke. I would rather spend $40 at children s museum. A lot of money for not a lot of things to do
Like others, we've been going to Stuckey for 10+ years, but this was the last year. When we got there yesterday, we quickly realized that unless we paid $12.50 per person to enter the fall festival (which we weren't interested in) - we we're limited to a small section of the orchard. Furthermore, that small section really only had one variety of decent apples (golden delicious). I don't get it, we are going to pay for the apples we picked, but apparently that's not enough for Stuckey. We truly appreciate local farmers and try to support them as much as possible, but something about this setup didn't jive with us
Amazing apple cider slushies, Apple cider donuts, and creative corn maze!
Took my daughter to the apple orchard for the first time!! Such a fun day with the family!
I'm sorry to rate this low but my family has been coming here for 5 years. The first three years there was no charge to get in. Last year, $5 which is reasonable. Now $10 per person. So $40 to get in. Then $22 for a small bag of apples. Then we bought 6 pumpkins which cost another $72! A half gallon of cider $4.50!!! This years trip cost $138.50. The first year probably cost $50. Pricing is getting out of hand and just lost us as a customer. Might want to sit down and think real hard about your price vs demand model because you are starting to lose customers.
It was ok but not what I expected. They were even out of Apple Cider !
So fun!!! Great food and the apple cider slushies are awesome :)
A rainy afternoon, but none the less we found peaches and tomatoes abundant. Great prices. Got a dozen apple cider donuts also. Yum!
So many great quality pumpkins to choose from. Fresh apple cider and tons to do with the kids. Will make this a yearly visit.
I grew up going to Stuckey Farm and always loved it. I remember riding the hayride to the patch and picking out a pumpkin every year. I was so excited to bring my daughter for her first visit this year and let her pick out her first pumpkin from the same patch I used to visit. She s under 2 so she would have been free, but we quickly realized it would cost my husband and I $25.00 just to walk through the pumpkin patch with her! We were shocked! We were certainly prepared to pay for the pumpkin, maybe a slushie, and I even thought there may be a new fee for the hayride... but $25 just to get through the gate and walk around? It breaks my heart to see this place has become so expensive and commercialized . I understand having a fee for activities, but I feel this should be more of an a la carte type of structure. Kind of like you pay for what you do. Especially for families who have really little kids and are unable to take advantage of all the fall festival activities. And then maybe have the wristband option for families who want to take advantage of everything. We did end up walking through the free apple picking rows which basically led us back out in to the parking lot, haha.
A favorite place for Apple picking, pumpkin patch, and hay rides. Fun play area for the kids aswell.
Don t buy your tickets online. The online ticket line was a 30 minute wait. If you bought tickets at the gate there was NO wait! But the apple cider doughnuts are amazing!
Amazing apples and very good cider. I drive two hours to pick up their cider. It is nothing like what you buy in a grocery store, it is much better.
We go a couple times every year. We love the atmosphere and of course we love the goodies! From the jams and apples to the hot and fresh doughnuts! YUM!
We love Stuckey's! It's rarely busy on a weekday and the parking and playground are free on weekdays. The apple orchards were beautiful, and we're looking forward to going back for our pumpkins. This is a great place to take the kids!
Childhood relived every time I go!
Small but fun experience for adults and children alike! Get those cider donuts!
We love coming here to pick apples in the fall. Such a great farm and lovely selection of local products too.
It s really good place to hangout with kids. Apples tasted really good & delighted. Games for kids was good- wagon trips, pumpkin, slide, pig race.....
i was highly disappointed when we were charged $12.50 to get in this place and nothing for adults to do and there was not even that much for the kids then sold stale cookies at $4.00 and $10.00 for a dozen donuts that had no apples or no tasting any cinnamon won't be coming here next year
Okay, been here twice so far. They have the most incredible Peach Parline homemade pie every! Omg, just absolutely perfect! Great little shop, they do the Pumpkin fall trail, apple pickings, amazing apple cider slushie. Yes, that's right Apple Cider Slushie! Beyond incredible! Love their popcorn and Carmel sprinklings as well. It's out in the country but beautiful area and very nice people.
The fact that they assume you want to participate in things you don't is a major turn off. They have a $5 admission fee to pick your own apples that doesn't even get applied to anything at the register. I commented to a few that it was my son's first experience at an orchard and we wouldn't be back. They didn't care at all. I will travel the few extra minutes to Tuttles, which is a much better orchard anyways, with no admission fee. Stuckey's has lost me as a consumer.
$25 for the 2 of us to get in. sunflowers were not that great and no observation deck as advertised online. long wait in sun for food which was overpriced. we wont be back.
A lot more for our kids to do than expected. A little more expensive than expected.
Awesome experience, Absolutely recommend it. I will continue to make this a part of our fall activities.
Awesome little orchard. 5 stars for the rural experience and the Apple cider, seriously good stuff. 3 stars for overpriced junk that you have to walk through to leave the place. 4 stars for the orchard, wish it was a bit bigger! We'll be back next year
A bit further from my town but decided to pay a visit of the sunflower field during their charity event in August. The field is big and but flower was blooming as well due to wether. Worth a visit with donations to the charity.
Great place for apple picking! Kids loved the themed playground. Extensive rows of apples. Most pumpkins were smashed, but it was late in season. Really feels like fall here!
We all enjoyed everything! The apple cider slushies and pulled pork nachos were delicious (line was too long to try the donuts). The tractor ride took us to all the different sites which made for less walking. The corn maze was fun! And lots of locations for beautiful family pictures. Lines were a little long for things, but it was also a Saturday so understandable. The one hour drive was definitely worth it!
Great place to take the family during harvest season. Lots of activities for kids and the food is delightful.
Great place to pick fresh apples. I went there on a field trip with my daughter's preschool in the presentation was outstanding.
So disappointed. I ve been going to this farm for years and for the first time I left empty handed. All the apples were eaten away by bugs, that is whatever was left.
Today was my first time going to Stuckeys. I ve always heard great things... however after today I will not be returning for a second visit. The staff was very rude and acted annoyed whenever we asked a question. We wanted to make sure we did things properly due to Covid, and the staff was disrespectful.
I loved the very friendly environment, wonderful employees, and beautiful orchard. I will definitely be going back and bringing all my girlfriends!!
Locally owned and operated - great cider and fall family traditions
The kids loved the big slide, apple cider donuts and the pig races.
The staff has gotten more rude over the years and generally unhelpful. Two staff members were rude today on two separate occasions today. We used to love this place and still do for the apples, but since they ve become more of a fall festival destination the service has gone down.
Disappointed in the upkeep of the property, looked very run down and unkept. Wasn't the experience we have had in the past.
Stuckey Farm looked great on the website so I took my 4 year old out there on a Friday morning. The drive was 45 min and my son jumped out of the car and was so excited to go on the giant slide and playground. He ran right into the line of children waiting for the slide and was then told that families were not welcome in parts of the park since there were school groups that reserved the areas for the day. That would have been great to know before getting my son excited for a fun day at a farm. We could visit the gift shop, pick apples (no thanks since we weren't spending a penny there if we couldn't enjoy all of the farm) so we took a walk to the corn maze. A worker was spray painting bales of hay green and the fumes were terrible...even the guy driving by on the tractor said that we shouldn't be near that area with the spray paint fumes.
Terrible place! Overpriced! Nothing to do! Small bag of apples $6, seriously?
Adventure acres? 1 slide, pirate ship , wooden tractor and 3 working bikes for dozen kids. Kids should not be charged $13.50 for all that fun !
Sub par Pick your own Apple Farm. There is a $10 per person entrance charge on weekends. When we called we where told this includes the price of 1/2 peck bag of apples. This is not the case. If you pick apples you will be charged for them, even with the 'special' bag they give you. Its not a very friendly place, especially compared to what we are used to. We picked 1 peck of apples the cost was $14 25 apples fit in our bag. That's an okay price for pick your own. Also consider the reason for two starts instead of only one. These apples are all organic. Organic seed and no pesticides or herbicides are used. Except for what ever a bug leaves behind these are safe to eat fresh off the trees.
We drove an hour with 5 people If we go back we will be sure to go on a week day so we are not charged an entrance fee.
I am eating an apple now. Its pretty good. We have McIntosh , Red Delicious, and Johnathon.
Perfect place for the whole family! Go pick your own apples off the trees, pick your own pumpkins as well! Great country market as well!
My son and I drove to Stucky Farm today to pick apples. I have been taking my four children there for apples and pumpkins for several years. We intended to pick apples and buy cider and other items in the store. However, it was a Saturday designated as a "Festival Day" and there was an admission fee to have access to the farm. I explained that we only wanted to pick apples and was directed to speak to someone in charge. I again explained that I only wanted to pick apples, and had driven a distance to get there, would it be possible to not pay the admission fee. The answer was a rude "absolutely not." I could buy apples in the store, visit during the week or pay the admission fee. I was so angry that we left, buying absolutely nothing. I will never return again. I will take my business to TUTTLES in McCordsville. Sadly, she clearly did not care about me as a customer and had many people willing to pay her admission fee.
Very cute and fun. Cinnamon donuts and cider slushies were the best!
Went with my wife and 3 month old to pick out some pumpkins. We just did the store so didn't have to pay an entry fee. Farmhouse store has a great rural vibe. There was a great pumpkin selection through the back of the store, large, small and even white pumpkins. Prices were very reasonable and the checkout was pretty quick despite the long being quite long when we got in it. Definitely plan to go back.
Have not even been yet this year and know they have great customer service. Messages about Labor Day hours and they got back to me pretty quick for being a holiday weekend. Very polite! We are excited to see the sun flowers with the kiddos.
Picking apples here is so much fun for whole family. This is a great way to teach kids about agriculture. We love coming here.
Love our pumpkins and the cider is great as always!
My family began the tradition of visiting Stuckey Farm 7 years ago. In the past years, I ve had several negative experiences that I ve not written about until now. I ve read several comments on here from the owner. Mr. Pierce, I hope this review helps you better serve your customers in the future.
Around 3 or 4 years ago, we began paying admission for a fall festival. As we have young children, we were happy to do this. We came only once a year and enjoyed a full-day experience. So we didn t mind when the fall festival admission price increased from $5 to $10 (and might be more this year, not sure). Today we went to pick apples only, with a plan of coming back in October to enjoy the fall festival when it s not as warm.
After we picked our apples, we exited through the gate but then turned around to pick a few more and see if we could ride the tractor to a different part of the orchard. I never got to find out if we could, because the same lady who gave us a bag to pick apples spoke rudely to me when I accidentally went back into the orchard through the festival door. Had she given me a kind excuse me, ma am I wouldn t have cared. But she basically treated me like I was trying to do something criminal I wasn t and told me I went though the wrong door the first time and must not have been paying attention to where she pointed.
Embarrassed, we went through the apple picking only entrance, which lacked any signage about where to go and basically led into the parking lot. It was hot and my children were tired. Since the tractor wasn t an option that was for festival -goers and we were clearly second-class apple pickers we paid and left with a bitter taste in our mouths.
I really hope that customer service improves in the future. From what I ve read here, Mr. Pierce seems to care about his customers and their experiences. Feeling welcome and having more signage or staff members to help people find their way would go a long way. Many families come 2-3 times during one season. We cannot afford to pay festival prices every time we visit, so please do not treat us as second-best customers during the visits when we re there simply to pick apples.
Thank you for reading.
Enjoyed meeting the Pierce family, Jeff and Jordan at my own business. They called in for processing services.
Mud and fun is just what hogs love. Letting them enjoy life on the farm before serving out their purpose of food makes total sense to me. Thank you to all who support their business as they support other local businesses like ours. Jessica. This Old Farm.
Some of you people are honestly ridiculous. 1 star for a 5 dollar admission? Come on. They are running a business people, they have to make profit somewhere. I doubt any of you hate movie theatres or theme parks for having the "audacity" to charge for admission
The festival was very disappointing. The $12.50 tickets only got you a wagon ride (with a 20 minute wait added on to the 20 minute wait to get into the festival) and a sunflower, which the sunflowers were mostly picked over. When buying the tickets, it seemed like cider tasting and apple picking were included. However, they were not. When we first got there, they said there was no cider tasting because they didn t have enough employees. When we left, they had cider tasting but it was $5. I feel that either cider tasting or a small bag of apples should have been included in the ticket price. Or they should have made it clear that these were extra like they made it clear with the food. A news article also said there would be a corn maze and pig races, but there were neither of these. There were too many people at this festival with not a lot to do. I would have rather not bought tickets for the festival and extra sunflowers and spent $60 on apples, donuts, and on items in the store. I now know to spend my $60 elsewhere.
It's no longer the place of my childhood. You used to be able to cut your own pumpkin from the vine and create a cool top now not so much. Great market and can't beat the cider doughnuts
My mom, sister, and I went to the Sunflower Festival last Monday! It was AMAZING. There were more Sunflowers than I had ever seen in my life. There were two areas where you could walk up steps and look at the field from above. The view was breathtaking. Because we went on Monday evening (last day for the festival), the area where we could pick a sunflower was pretty picked over. We were still able to find gorgeous blooms though! We just had to walk to the back corner. I will definitely be going again next year!!
I grew up going to Stuckey Farm, but had not been in about a year. (I moved about an hour away.) The Apple Cider slushies are just as good as I remember! And the apple cider donuts? I tried one of those for the first time, and they were to die for! The caramel apples were not quite ready yet, so I'll be going back for one of those. If you have not been to Stuckey Farm, I would highly recommend going!
Lots of fun to be had. Check out the pig races. Then grab you an apple cider donut.
