Straz Center for the Performing Arts Review

Loved our time seeing the act we went for. Very comfortable seats and great views. Reasonable price on tickets as well.

Great place! We have seen a number of shows there and they were magnificent! The people who work the are friendly and helpful; the shows and the actors/artists are great! Some even come out to meet the audience.... There are drinks and snacks and items to buy.....I really enjoy an evening out at The Straz!

We went here before christmas to watch The Nutcracker, and it was a great show and venue. We were in the upper tier and still had a great view of the stage. They ushers are helpful in keeping people moving and finding correct seats. Parking was not bad either - if there is a show you want to see there, you can't go wrong. Excellent theater!

We visited the Straz for a performance by the Florida Orchestra (a Night at the Oscars). It was a great performance and the facility itself was really lovely. You had a great view pretty much everywhere, and the sound carried nicely. The restrooms were incredibly clean (and appeared to be recently updated). The parking was fairly simple and walking through the elevated walkway was pretty cool. Only thing is, the interior is a little dated (aka very 80s).

This is a definite 5 star establishment, but the parking....ugh. After years of construction and after show backups, you would think they'd get it figured out.

I love this theater. Sure, it can be super packed, parking can suck, and if you're like me, you have to cross the bridge to get there, but it's worth it. The shows are spectacular. I've seen the Phantom Of The Opera twice and I have also been to see The Newsies. I hope to see additional shows. I highly recommend you do as well.

Made a fantastic day walking the river and seeing Kinky Boots here a little while back with my wife and kids. The facility was very nice and we enjoyed the show. We plan to be back.

The place is runs smoothly and of the few theaters I've been to, this is my favorite. The set up is nice.

Excellent time taking the grandson and his aunt my baby girl to view the Paw Patrol Musical! I'm always impressed with the Starz Center. The shops and restaurants both indoors and outside never disappoints! We will be revisiting for Mean Girls and the Illusionist coming next year. Amazing time my grandson chanted as we were leaving the Straz.

Saw Fiddler on the Roof. It was excellent. The theater is very nice, I don't think there is a bad seat in there and I seem looking forward to going again soon.

Had a wonderful time seeing Bobby Bones red hoodie Comedy Tour. Great place love the atmosphere. And the restaurant inside of it is pretty good too.

We always love to see shows here. It is like a taste of Broadway right here at home!

I was here setting up a decor piece for Affairs in the Air Balloon Decorating and I have to say that the facilities are wonderful. The staff knows what they are doing and the production crew is on point.

We love this place. They continue to bring excellent shows. We have been going here for years and going to continue. We can't wait until Hamilton!!!!! We have eaten both at the cafe and maestro before shows. I highly recommend because the food is good and you beat traffic.

Parking is a pain but the theater is nice for its age.

One of the greatest venues, anywhere. I just hope that the city eventually fixes the traffic issues in the area.

Saw The Tempest! Was amazing, subtle small theater in the Jobsite Theater there bit was absolutely perfect, such an up close personal feel!!

Been to the Straz multiple times. Please folks ,upgrade the seats! Parking is horrendous. Got there an hour before show abs had to valet parking due to filled parking lots. But...will keep going as long as they keep bringing in top notch concerts and shows.

Attending last night to see Finding Neverland and there are not enough adjectives to describe how fantastic my evening was. Truly one of the best nights of my life. Friendly professional staff, beautiful facility and amazing acoustics. The production was everything I had ever hoped to see. Thank you, thank you, thank you for something I will never forget.

Recently saw Iliza Schlesinger at the Straz. We were on Balcony 4 in the front row of the Carol Morsani Hall. There are plenty of side balconies, but I would recommend center seating at any level for a better view. Our view was great and the seating comfortable. We did have a seating scuffle as a group next to us failed to sit in the right spot. Definitely distracting having everyone changing seats mid show.
There are bars on each level and restrooms. Bag checks are done at the entrance. Everyone leaving at once can be hectic, so either duck out early or be willing to wait.
We decided to park in the Royal Street lot a few blocks away and paid only $2 bucks. Worth the walk for us.

Several lovely venues for shows, however we used a driver rather than fight against all the traffic of two shows starting at the same time!

Such a great experience. My son performed with the All-State chorus on the main stage. The staff treated them so professionally and shared in the excitement of the families. Such a beautiful venue. I will be back for a show.

I've been coming here with my grandparents for the past 10 years. We are season ticket holders. I have seen countless productions and I am never disappointed with the performances. The actors and actresses shine! The seats can be a little uncomfortable. And parking can be nightmare if you aren't early. But if you are prepared you'll have a wonderful experience!

An incredible theater venue with good seats on every level. Ample paid parking. Light meals, drinks, and snacks are available. Make sure to buy your tickets in advance.

Went there to get tickets to Phantom of the Opera. The gentleman that helped me was outstanding. Sweet funny and polite. Great experience. I love the straz.

This review is only based on seats for one show. I have been to the Straz many times and loved it. The performance of all shows I have seen have been great. But last night I had the worst seats of my life and I really think the venue should consider not selling these seats or at least giving a heads up before they do. They were obstructed view seats that only allowed you to kind of see one 1/4 of the stage. Absolutely HORRIBLE! Website said they were sold out for sat. We checked second hand sites, no seats. So on a whim my boyfriend calls to see if maybe they had something for Sunday night, but site wasn't showing him the map of the theater. So they say yes we have two seats left, on the balcony next to the stage, so you're view is looking down. Well my bf should have asked more questions, and this is partly our fault. However, I do feel the person on the phone should have indicated that you would need to lean over the balcony to see anything. I am afraid of heights, they didn't tell us it was the highest balcony. And that you really can't see anything unless you are literally leaning over the top railing. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a theater. On top of it the girl beside me was sick, she coughed, sneezed and blew her nose every 20 seconds. I ended up standing near the back away from her the whole show and could only see one side of the far far side of the stage. I guess that's what we get for acting quickly buying the last seats, and not asking more questions before our purchase. So a heads up if you are looking at this venue for cheap seats DO NOT get these! I wish I could get my money back because I didn't see the show, didn't know what character was singing and pretty much wasted $150!

Aladdin was a wonderful performance, it's sad some characters had to be cut out, buy I understand the reasoning being the time constriction. All in all, it was a great night out.

Saw phantom of the opera there. The place is nice. The seats are comfortable, the drinks are affordable. Make sure you arrive early so you can find a place to park or reserve your parking in advance online. Parking can be tricky.

Fabulous venue with multiple auditoriums for varying size shows. Clear view of stages, and wonderful audio.

The venue, theaters within, and everything about this place is great! The location is wonderful, so come hang out before or after a show. There are always great shows and events, and I cannot wait to go back!

Nice theatre, has the old days charm inside with all the structural detailing, corbels and such. I went to see the Nutcracker. Beautiful set designs.

The best place to catch that show you've been dying to see

I wish there was more parking and more space between the seats. You have to stand up every time someone goes past.

Have had multiple great experiences at the venue. We are fortunate to have a Performing Arts Center of this quality in our city.

There is no bad seat at the Straz. Always clean, volunteer ushers are nice and helpful. Ate at On The River. Staff is ready to close when it started to rain. They handed out tips. Were bickering, then handed me the tray, and asked me to take food off of tray so they didn't have to pick it up as they closed.

Just overall a great place to watch shows and for classes!

Not enough bathrooms or drink stations. Wonderful shows.
