Definitely a place to build new and unique experiences with the family and friends. The food before the show is choice! Clean restrooms are always a must. Located right off The Riverwalk and at the most north-westernly tip of downtown Tampa, once the show's over, feel free to walk down the street for some nice food spots to enjoy the night!
Parking the connected Poe garage can be a nightmare, especially if there are other major functions going on nearby...the theater itself is well laid out and friendly staff..

As a 3rd year season ticket holder, I have had a lot of experience with the Straz Center and the events that the venue hosts. I have always been very thankful that the Straz is willing to exchange ticket dates if a show falls on a day that I have something big planned on already. They are willing to do an exchange for the same show on a different date to better accommodate their season ticket holders schedule. The other day I was having trouble getting through to the ticket office. I ended up calling other departments at the theater and on the phone with Jen G. that handles Corporate and Group Sales. Although it was not her department she was extremely helpful and helped me do the exchange. Instead of forwarding me off to someone else, she made sure that I successfully made the exchange. She even followed up with me to make sure I was all set. Jen was very kind and patient with me. You can tell she likes what she does and she is great at handling customers. Jen deserves to know that she is great at what she does and an asset to the Straz!

The place is great you can see shows! Last time I went we saw a Star wars and Star trek orchestra. Easy to get to!
Love the Straz. So many things to see and do. There are matinees if you would like to go during the day. Take a walk along the riverfront and see the art and musical instruments. Parking is always challenging. Taking the downtowner is a great option, park at The Barrymore and enjoy dinner there.
The Straz is an absolutely class act. 100% of the time. I have been there for multiple shows over a few years, and there are a few things that stand out. #1- Roz the women's bathroom attendant. Every single time I have been there she is like an air traffic controller, completely professional and skilled. You would not think that the entire female population of the Straz could use the bathroom on intermission, but Roz makes this possible. She's amazing. All of the staff are so helpful, they even had a gentleman out on the street directing us to a closer entrance for Hamilton. Staff, 100%class. Patrons... unfortunately not, they leave drinks on the floor like savages after a performance. There are cupholders, people! Pick up your drinks or better yet put them in the can so the staff doesn't have to. Have some respect for this fabulous resource in our community. Otherwise great and professional place.
