Love staying here, had everything we needed. Gas, store, restaurant and a Ranger Station for our park passes. It was also a good central location for us to explore on our Dual Sport bikes!

You are paying for the location which is reasonable for the price. We were close enough to the office to get Wifi in our room, it worked ok, as did the tv. Room is outdated which I wouldn't mind if it was clean but it was a little rough. A few small improvements would help a lot like bigger counter in bathroom or painting over scuffs and chips on the walls. We didn't eat at the restaurant so can't comment on that.

It was my first time in Death Valley and, as a die-hard fan of extremes, I went all by my self in August. I can't even begin to put into words how perfect my trip was. I spent two nights at the Stovepipe Wells Village Hotel and couldn't have been more pleased with the service. The rooms were far nicer than I was expecting and I never had a problem with the AC (though I don't think I ever got "cold" water in the shower ahha). The food at the Saloon is super delicious (I was advertised the pizza, but the angus burger is also perfection). I didn't get a chance to use the pool as I was always out and about. The general store is super convenient. Driving by Furnace Creek, I think I much more prefer the quiet solitude of Stovepipe Wells. My view of the flat landscape was fantastic; I could hardly stop looking out on the porch. The only issue is that it's rather far from all the Death Valley hotspots, but I didn't mind all the driving--after all, that's part of the magic of Death Valley is experiencing those long drives in the middle of no where, seeing the variety of desert landscape that the park has to offer. I did love the closeness to the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, which was by far one of my favorite places to explore! Stovepipe Wells has plenty of ice, too. Finally, the hotel clerk who checked me in was super nice and just as excited for me!

Wasn't really the best you would want. Kind of overpriced and the staff kept shooting me dirty looks when I asked them to clean the room after I spotted dirt. When they were out of the room, I heard the staff say very nasty stuff about me. She said that I was too clean and that they should leave me in the desert so that the bugs could come. Really. =/

There is not much to do, excerpt watch tv, play pool, and swim in the pool. The enormous heat prevents sitting outside. Room felt like a cave. 2 towels for 4 persons. Although that was corrected. A light bulb needed replacement. Breakfest was not included in the booking of the room although I thought it was. Desk staff did not mention this either when checking- in. So an older service lady barked "Did you pay?!" at me when we left the breakfest. She made me feel like a thief. As the other staff was more friendly, I left a 20% tip for them. Star gazing binoculars were not available as these have been stolen by other gueats. As an alternatieve, theater plastic binoculars were sold instead. A star gazing map was also provided, but the dust in the air prevented star gazing at all when we stayed there.

Great jumping off place to visit death valley. Been going during the spring for the past 30 years. Do your research and explore the many different places off the beaten path. Especially, learn how to be safe and prepared for what the desert will present.

Great place for a swim in the pool and a shower if you're camping. I think I was charged $3.00 back in 2005. The restaurant is quite good too and a nice treat if you've been living on camping food for a week.

What a fantastic place to visit. Bats were diving the swimming pool at 11pm while we swam. Quaint and cute bar. Food was pretty good. Breakfast, only option is the $12 buffet but the selection was decent. The gift shop was overpriced but expected in the middle of nowhere. We loved the vibe in the saloon and a great variety of beer on tap and in bottle

I love this spot! They serve excellent food, their menu is nice, The cook in that spot is well trained, I like very much tasting all their food. The dishes are consistently fresh, the attitude towards the guests is efficient. I often eat in this restaurant and I not even once was unsatisfied. I recommend this place.

The rooms where large and comfortable but required some tlc -bathroom lights did not work, tv did not work, no phone to ask front desk for more towels. However, this is a wonderful location. Centrally located in Death Valley. There are plenty of amenities including a pool, a saloon and a restaurant. The rooms are air conditioned and clean.

The room had a slight musky smell but is roomy with comfy enough beds and pillows. The shower has been renovated and is good and hot. There is no wifi in the rooms. There is some free wifi near the reception but very slow. Breakast is not included, you can pay $15 USD per person if you want breakfast.

Cute village on the edge of death valley. Gas is a good dollar or two more than elsewhere, but if you need to fill up don't skip it!
Friendly staff in the general store and a fair collection of food goods for your onward journey

We enjoyed our stay at Stovepipe wells. There was a mix up with our reservations. We reserved a room with a view and that did not happene. The room we received was nothing like there advertisement. The TV did not work and no cell or internet service. But, the room was clean and close to all the sites.

Nice little hotel in the middle of nowhere, with shop and restaurant. Air conditioner in the room worked great. There was wifi connection just in the lobby and the restaurant, but that just adds to the death valley experience in my opinion. Five stars!

Stayed in the courtyard double room. Comfortable and clean. Not a large room, but it was great after a day exploring Death Valley. The front desk help were very friendly and nice. Having a courtyard room it was very convenient to walk across the street to the general store, and the fire pit was right outside our door. The Mesquite Flats Sand Dunes are only about a mile down the road. Great place to view the stars. It was almost a full moon on my visit, so you could hike the Dunes without a flashlight for a very cool experience. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Death Valley.

Sat within the Death Valley National Park, this place is quite literally in the middle of nowhere. So it was a pleasant surprise to enter our room off the patio (No.5) and find reasonably pleasant and well equipped accommodation. The MGM Grand it is not, but it s clean, quite spacious and has all the facilities that you require for a stay in......the middle of nowhere. The AC is mercifully efficient, it was 43C outside, if a little noisy and quickly cooled the room down to a refreshing temperature. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet (apart from the AC) and we had a good restful nights sleep.
Staff are very friendly, helpful and informative and we spurned an offer of a dip in the pool for a shower and an early dinner. Dinner was served in the Saloon that night (rather than the diner) and Kimberly was a pleasant and ultra energetic waitress (who made the energiser bunny look lazy). She helped us with our meal and drink selection, also keeping us hydrated with iced water. There s a good menu selection and the chicken and ribs were perfect. Probably a little pricy but not outrageous. Breakfast was in the diner, buffet style and frankly mediocre. For 13:50 USD I would have expected a better selection.
Overall this place is great. Views out to the desert, the sand dunes are close by and a great place to rest up after a tiring day exploring Death Valley.

Great experience. The room is basic but it has everything you need. The village is a great place to spend the night. Gas price is reasonable and the restaurant/bar has a great selection of draft beer. Highly recommend for visitors to Death Valley.
