This is the least favorite restaurant due to the fact that online they said they sold a 32 oz steak for 2 people then we get there and the whole menu is different than what they had online and i drove 45 minutes away to get to this restaurant i left hungry so thats the reason it is the 1 star

My wife and I went for dinner this past Saturday. We were there for an October Fest approx. 10 years ago and thought the food for the festival was great, so we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately it did not meet expectations. The cheese plate was ok, but nothing exceptional and it went down hill from there. The French onion soup was the saltiest soup I have ever been served. We each got a crock. It was impossible to eat. It is simply not possible that any chef or kitchen manager would have permitted that soup to be served had they tasted it. We then had sausages which were over cooked with some actually being hard on the outside. All were very dry and again, the theme of the evening seemed to be excessive salt. The beers were good so go for the bar, but the food was a complete disappointment. We were really excited to go, but will never go back.

No consistency with the food. My girl friend and i have been regular customers for years and the food is getting worse. The beer is great, however we will not be dining in there again. We had burgers and "fresh cut fries" , the burger meat is not top choice by any stretch and the fries were over done and probably sitting for a while before being served.

Had dinner here tonight and I would definitely recommend it!

Our waitress, I believe her name was Allison was very informative and suggested a beer sampler based on what I like, it was perfect! Salads and steaks were very quick, and everything was cooked just how we asked. Perfect birthday dinner! The whole staff was friendly and personable. Anyone looking for a traditional German brew pub should give Stoudts a try for sure.

Me and a few buddies went to eat their because we are staying close bye and saw the four star rating but when we got their we were greeted with flies as soon as we walked through the door it looked like a nice place to eat but the service was absolutely horrible the food was worse we all got sick ten minutes after we left and vomited and it destroyed our stomachs so bad we were in the restroom the rest of the night will never eat their again and wouldn't even recommend the stomach pains we all had to my worst enemy

Always a delicious meal!! You can't go wrong here. It's looks interesting and less than appealing on the outside but each time I've been here the service was great and the food was even better. The menu has items you just don't typically find at your average restaurant.

I stopped by with a friend on a Saturday afternoon for a beer and a sandwich and wound up with a couple of wonderful pints and a fantastic sampler of sausages. My friend got a fantastic steak. Service is great the beer was great the food was great the atmosphere was great. Just a wonderful place to eat and relax and enjoy yourself.

Small menu but worth a look. The beer selection, while limited, has a varied range from pils to ipa with a rotation of specialties. The head chef is strict on the cooks making this place one of the few that will truly cook to your liking.

The interior is what you would expect from a brewery, German decor, art, and old ads line the walls giving an aged vibe and a knowledgeable staff that it's quick and cheerful but not over bearing.

Everything about this restaurant was wrong, we had a child throw up in the same area that we were seated in, without anyone coming to check on us or to make sure we didn't want move. Then we waited over an hour and 45 minutes for our entree that we ended up not even getting because after waiting a half hour for soups and 45 minutes for salad and at least 15 minutes each drink we were fed up we asked the server for the bill that we ate and drank so far so we could pay and leave. The server said that she would get a manager after waiting 5-10 minutes we left $40 on the table and just wanted to leave. On our way out the manager stopped us and tried to give us every excuse in the book. We will never be back. This was our Valentine's Day dinner and our first visit to this brewery, thanks for the horrible memory.

Flies? Not one! Smell? No! Bad Food? Delicious Lump crab with zoodles, caramelized tomatoes, spinach and fresh corn! Absolutely yummy! My husband s brisket and Mac and cheese? Again, delicious! One of my son and daughter-in-law s favorite places to eat! Service? Couldn t be better! Atmosphere? Nice band playing on Wednesday:) Oh, did I mention their Octoberfest brew? Wow! Five s! Can t wait to eat there again!

Stoudts used to be THE BOMB for Oktoberfest. We've gone several years, but this past year, 2016, was pathetically lame. The music, Joe Weber, was decent, though they don't play enough actual German (oopma, polka, waltz, drinking, anything!). The beer is, as always, good. But it was very poorly attended and the atmosphere sucked. For the price, it just wasn't fun. It used to be a blast!

As far as the restaurant, the food is mediocre. The beer, again-great! But, they make their own bread and its eh. We've been there for dinner and lunch. It's just not that impressive.

It's sad, actually, because Ed and Carol Stoudt really built an amazing place that had incredible activities that were well-attended throughout the year. It's the end if an era.

This is the best restaurant in Lancaster County. I stop here every time I'm in the area. The servers are personable and the bartenders charming and skilled ataking many fine drinks. The food is exquisite and reasonably priced. Hands down the best in the area.

Food is horrible. Very expensive. Server was polite and friendly. Didn t make up for the restaurant that time forgot, horrible super salty food and mediocre beer. Save your money an pass on this place.

Very disappointed with the food (although the beer is good). I ordered a chicken sandwich, but it didn't have lettuce, as was described, and the caramelized onions were placed into the mayonnaise, which made for a sticky mess since the cheese was a melted blue cheese that slid off of the chicken with each bite. I had to use my silverware to eat the sandwich because it was smothered in mayo and cheese. Who came up with this special? A newbie? Because of the beer, I gave the place two stars. Next time, if there is a next time, I'll just drink.

Dec 2017. Decor is close to Germany, but a little overdone maybe. Gold lager! Mmmmmm GOOD!

Trio sausage platter was supreme. Good mash taters. She had the shredded pork under mash. Wow! Must have item.

Didn't know they had a brewery tour. Check schedule...Carol was the first female brewmaster after prohibition. 1984 I think. My local Sam's carries Stoudt beer, but I hate ale (soap and chem taste). The world needs more lager!

Meh, it was okay. Gearshifter IPA was tasty. Stoudts seem to know how to make good beer, AmIRight? Had the Black Angus burger, again, tasty. Fries came out burnt. The place seemed dead but it was Sunday night. A friend had the clam chowder soup and thought he was going to die, and not in a good way. It was incredibly salty. We kept thinking someone would jump out from behind the curtains and say they were punking us and we're waiting to see how long it would take before we said something. He couldn't finish the soup and we had to stop so he could hydrate on the way home. . Just kidding, except for the part about the very salty soup.

Family of five. Wonderful experience. The Octoberfest beer was delicious. I had the Stew Pot it was absolutely amazing. Hats off to the chef . The braised ribs were spot on and the kids enjoyed their meals. I would definitely plan a visit to this restaurant.

Delicious, bold and wide array of brewery beer selections, with seasonal additions added to the bar menu. Happy hour offers some nice specials and featured drinks. On the pricey side. Delicious site-made breads, beers and cheeses for the connoisseur! Small German menu offering pork with spaetzle, a couple different burger offerings and a small variety of specialty meals with weekend specials; one lunch sandwich and an evening big plate. The restaurant is a collectors haven of old beer steins, international posters, deviled-egg platters, and German-styled rooms; each room different from the other, with private rooms and books for small and larger parties, as well as a large beer garten in the rear, which offers some fun events in warmer weather; offering German bands and festival-style bar and dining area with long tables. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. 3 stars for the limited menu, some greasy dishes and a bit pricey.

I've lived up the street from this place for ages, and finally decided to meet an old friend here to try it out. Before I ordered the food, I decided to look at the comments. After doing so, I didn't order anything, but he did. He got a fish sandwich. When it was brought out, it smelled really fishy (as in old and not fresh), and he messaged me later saying his stomach didn't feel quite right. Decor is beautiful, though. Management, please fix your food, and you'd have a great place to run!

One thing to note, in the men's bathroom are hung many vintage pictures of nude women. If any underage kids go there, that might be a concern for parents.

Service was ok no refill on water, beer and glass not warm but not cold either, food was moderate, shrimp we're not as good as price, ordered the beef brisket Mac cheese it was light on the beef they put bacon on
the top of beef brisket and Mac and cheese?? Killed the taste of the beef, price was high. Decor was cool and place had a nice atmosphere.

If your going to advertise that your serving "aged" steaks at $30 a steak. Make sure your serving aged steaks. My steak wasnt even as good as outback steak house....and i dont really think much of outback steaks. My wifes ahi tuna she ordered it medium but the inside was still frozen. This place is waaaaay over priced for the crap food they serve.

The tour with Ed Stoudt made this a 5 star spot. The beers were great too. The ambiance is vintage with lots of political memorabilia. I missed the market's open hours, but I'd return. Food was good- lots of German offerings.

I'm a general manager of a tavern in Bucks County, PA and thought it would be a great idea to do a tour of all our local craft breweries. After an amazing afternoon and lunch at Troegs in Hershey, we decided to hit Stoudts on our way back on the Turnpike...wow what a mistake that was.
We pull into a desolate parking lot....the building looks like a scene from a Stanley Kubrick horror film.
My colleagues and I walk into the main entrance to a very creepy ambiance. We got there around 450PM, I guess they don't do tours during the week and the gift shop/information desk workers close at 5pm. There were 2 ladies that were getting their things to leave and they told that they were "not kicking us out, but either had to leave or go to the bar/restaurant" Not the best way to greet customers who are trying to buy your beer and sell them at their own establishment.
After the rude greeting and getting kicked to the bar, there was only 2 customers drinking at the bar and the bartender had 0 knowledge of the beers they brew and had only worked there for 2 weeks. You would think that if a brewery is hiring as bartender, they would properly train their staff on the beers they make.
We got a sample of all their beers, tried them and left..........beer were ok but nothing to write home about. I suggest calling first and asking if the staff they have scheduled that day is trained before you make the trip. I was dumbfounded with the rudeness and lack of knowledge from a place supposedly in business for 50 years. Good luck, looks like its going out of business

OMG! I had the cheese plate, German sausage sandwich, and a Queen of Hops beer. Everything was delicious. Unfortunately, my wife s steak was over cooked. I lived in Germany and ate sausage at least once a week, and the sausage at Stoudt s was one of the best I have ever eaten. The sour kraut was definitely the best I have ever had. The bread was awesome. Service was great, and the staff all seemed very pleasant. Loved the decor in the men s restroom, and the restaurant was well appointed. If I ever go back to Adamstown, Stoudt s will be a definite repeat. Special thanks to the staff for a great experience.

Friendly staff, quick and efficient service. The scenery is a mix collection of era paintings and movie posters. Cozy in the evening. Ordered multiple different entrees, soup, and fritters all very good, table of 5 were all happy with their entire meals. Will go back.

I go to Stoudt's every time I'm in Adamstown. After yesterday's visit, I'm not so sure I'll go back. Service was great, beer was great, my burger was cooked just the way I asked...BUT, talk about down-sizing! What supposedly started out as an 8 oz. burger looked more like a meatball on the kaiser roll. Hey Stoudt's...Where's the beef? and the value?..when you pay $10 for a burger, I think your patrons expect to eat more than a big kaiser roll.

It was clear a server must have called out, because our poor waitress was running around like crazy, but she was holding it down with a smile on her face. You can tell a lot of love goes into the food and we loved it too. Karnival Kolsch straight from the source made my trip. Thanks guys!

Food was just ok. For the cost of the New York strip, i was expecting much more than something that could have come off anyone's backyard grill. The steak and my wife's burger were way overpowered with a chat flavour. I couldn't even taste the meat itself just char. What was weird was that the steak wasn't burnt or over cooked, it just tasted like it was burnt. Other than that the crab dip and mash potatoes
was fantastic.

We came in for lunch and the food was outstanding and the beer was so good that I ordered 2 growlers to take home when I looked at the bill it was as if I was double charged for both growlers. The waitress had excuses why it was so much. Never have I paid $70 for two growlers. Beer was good but not that good I ll never go back. Maybe to eat but not for the beer

The set up is bizarre I'm assuming due to COVID. Beer was good. Food was terrible. I was looking forward to trying the food because we live in the area and the Black Angus has a great reputation. My Medium Temp burger came out beyond well done and cold. My husband got the brisket Mac- n-cheese and it looked like it was cooked last week and thrown in the microwave. It was cold and unappetizing. They did recook my burger the right way and it was good, but the experience was awful. There is no personal service at this time. The woman taking orders was rude and claimed our food was cold/taking forever because they were slammed. There was maybe 30 people in the entire garden if that's slammed I'm not sure how they are in business. Needless to say we wont be back.
