Great steaks, service, and Fat Dog is an excellent Stout!

I was out in the area running an errand and stopped in for lunch. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer and food for my husband and I. Upon asking what was taking so long for our food (about 35 minutes), I asked the bartender who openly admitted that he forgot to put the order in. Never apologized. Never addressed his mistake. Really cool space, but terrible service.

ATMOSPHERE, FOOD AND SERVICE WAS FIRST RATE. OUR FIRST TIME. WE WILL BE BACK!!!

Great beers and the best friendly staff, great food also.

Does not match website description, but good food and lovely old world ambience. Website photos and description of the menu and general place look modern, chic, sophisticated. In reality it is filled with antiques, dark/romantic, like the 30+ year old restaurant it is.

The beer was good, but the food and service was awful.

Very friendly service, food was good, steak was cooked perfectly. Would give five stars but I think did was a bit overpriced as compared to quality.

They have one of the best pumpkin beers I've ever had.

Food is just ok and the beer is nothing to brag about, but the atmosphere is so enjoyable. I enjoy bringing family here for the experience. Not to mention, it s close to my house;)

We arrived at the Black Angus Restaurant & Pub by accident, really. We had planned to dine a few towns over from Adamstown, but because of some road closures we thought that this Friday the 13 had cursed us!!
We were greeted pleasantly by the hostess, and quickly brought to our table.
We ordered a couple of drinks, and decided we would order the crab dip appetizer. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The presentation was beautiful as well. I ordered the duck entree which was equally delicious AND beautifully presented. My girlfriend ordered the Thai pork special, which she was nice enough to share. I found it flavorful, and unique. It was obvious to me that SOMEONE knew what they were doing back in that kitchen!!
Our server, Allison, was friendly and pleasant. She was attentive, and checked on us several times during our meal. Thank goodness she did, because we kept wanting more of the delicious bread from their onsite bakery, The Wonderful Good Market, to sop up the sauce from our entrees!!
After our delicious dinner, we debated on ordering some dessert. We were stuffed, and so decided we would take some chocolate cake home for later. We were glad that we did. That was simply the most delicious cake I have ever tasted in my 50 years!!
I am a hard person to impress. My family is also in the restaurant business, and so I think that I am more critical than most folks. But I would be happy to recommend a visit to The Black Angus to anyone looking for something special.

We decided to give this a place a try on our trip to Lancaster! We got seated right away on a Saturday evening. From the time we got our drink order to the time we got our dinner was over an hour and fifteen minutes! We both got streaks. The steaks were great but the veggies seems like they were from a can and the baked potato I got was horrible. It was burnt and was nasty inside. They took $3.00 off our bill for the potato. I only ate the steak. My husband got fries which were frozen and not fresh fries. His fries were hot but his veggies were horrible also! I kind of wish o got fries instead of the baked potato. A group of 4 or 5 came in about 10 minutes after we did. They got their apps and dinner before we did! Our food wasn't hot. It was lukewarm! We will never come back when we are in the area! The best part of our whole experience was my pumpkin martini!

Stopped here on Friday night. Bjorn Jacobsen was playing in stage with some of his friends (is what they said). They were fantastic! It was a very fun show! I got a blood orange cider which was very light but delicious. I also got the double dry hopped IPA and that was good too! Their cheeseburger was cooked spot in to medium rare and the fries were good too! Wife got the brisket sandwich and was very disappointed with it though! It was cooked alright but lacked some flavor and it came in a hotdog bun. Besides that everything was great! I'll definitely be stopping back next time I'm in the area! Check out the neat pics!

Pork schnitzel was very good but the spaetzle was disappointing. Too dry and rubbery. However, the deserts made up for it.

The food is good, the beer is great, just be prepared for a pricey and small menu.

I feel the visits here are always questionable....the first time we visited, it was not a good experience. We decided to give them another try last week...and I am glad we did.

Service: Our waitress was friendly, kept checking in to make sure nothing was needed, had good knowledge of the food, and was just overall a great waitress to have!

The speed of service was also wonderful compared to our first time, nothing took an extended time to come out, and all the food came out too hot to eat right away.

Food: I had gotten the ham & cheese spaetzle special (first time having) and I suprisingly ate the whole dish, wishing I had more. This was very good! My boyfriend had gotten one of the steaks, it was a good amount of food, more than he expected. Overall, both left full and very happy with our food.

Food was excellent and the service was great too! We'll definitely be going back

I love Stoudt's Brewery. My last mean there was not all that good. The waitstaff was not educated on the way foods were prepared and had no idea what gluten and dairy free meant at all.

Everything was good, expensive but good - but when we got the dessert the waitress (who said there was no dessert menu and had to tell us the desserts) failed to tell us that the brownie chocolate chip cookie dessert had nuts in which my sister is allergic to. PLEASE if something has nuts say something!

I waited a day to relax and not post an impulse comment. The service was incredibly slow. We had a table of 4 and our server did not have many tables to wait on but it still took an exceptional amount of time for drinks and food. We waited More

My husband and I went for our Anniversary. This place is so classy and nice! My husband always calls and gets a reservation for a booth. They have pulled back curtains on the recessed booths and it has a really romantic feel to it. We had a cheese platter for an appetizer. It was really tasty. We ordered steak for dinner which as always was wonderful. The service is always great here. You can't go wrong by coming here!

Very nice stop for food and drink. Many craft beer flavors including a cask poor. Good selection of appetizer, lunch, and dinner options. Friendly service. Good was great!

Way disappointed!! One shrimp 3.95! That I had to clean out, pathetic. Single cut filet, 28.00 done in four bites, more pathetic. I had to kill a half a dozen nats fling around. 92.00 + tip down the drain. Never again

Good beer but portion sizes are small for the price. $15 burger for just bacon and cheese with about a cup of fries. Would go back for just beer.

Three of us went there tonight prepared to eat and drink, we did neither. Worst service I've experienced in years we were sat down and forgotten about. Twenty minutes later the waitress showed and got in a fight with the hostess. We left before it got any worse.

Decided to stop by while out on a motorcycle ride. Looked like the people there where more upper class per say so they put my party in the back corner took awhile to get drink orders and then food orders. Food was good only had appetizers and beer was good but they really don t check on us don t think I would go there again except to buy beer to go

We found the sometime excellent food isn't always reproduce able along with snotty waitresses if the food is questionable.

I love Stoudt's!!! Amazing staff, great beer and awesome fresh baked bread!!!! Tuesdays have live music and are dog friendly! Literally my whole family can come, see live music, drink great beer, play Cornhole and have a great time. 10/10 will definately be back

My friend recommended this place. We were excited to try something new. Upon arrival there were 3 cars at 5:30PM. 2 people sitting at bar and nobody in restaurant. We should have left right then... We went into a booth and the table was about to fall over. I really thought I was on an episode of kitchen nightmares. This place needs a huge makeover. We went for the pretzel and vanilla porter they offer. They were out of pretzels... how???? Nobody was there! Also, they don't serve vanilla porter anymore. Again.. we should have left. We ordered chicken strips and fries for kid-- he only ate the fries... I ordered the pulled pork and potatoes.. I couldn't find the pork from the mashed potatoes being on top, very dry and fatty. I took one bite. My husband got the schnitzel and took one bite and gagged from the sauce. The waitress who was nice asked how food was and we told her it was bad and we wanted the check. She seemed stunned and said she would not charge for the two meals. After ten minutes waiting I went to the front to pay and she got really rude and gave the check and charged 22$ for one of the plates... I was stunned but just wanted to leave at that point. She had no other tables but seemed overwhelmed. My guess is since nobody was there eating she couldn't void the charges. We will never go back. For this to be a tourist attraction is beyond me. PA people really need to explore more.

Great beer and eats. Don't leave without eating a pretzel!

Very disappointed tonight, steak I ordered medium was near well done and way over seasoned. My wife's schnitzle was ok but several bits of gristle were a turnoff. When I asked what the 3rd sausage in the German Sausage platter was (they rotate the 3rd) I was told it was Chorizo...in what universe is chorizo a GERMAN sausage?!? Ridiculous. Our waiter failed to bring bread until we asked for it and was clearly in over his head..... As I said, very disappointed.

Visited Stoudts probably close to ten times. It's very much a five or two Star experience. Beer is top notch, no matter what you'll find something and enjoy it. Meals have unfortunately been inconsistent. From bland burgers to top 5 best prime rib you've ever had to head scratchingly expensive cheese boards to pork pretzel calzones that defy logic. If things don't go well consider giving them another shot. Any beer event I've been able to attend here has been 10s!

Diner quality steaks at five-star prices. Quite possibly the most overpriced restaurant I've ever been to. My steak was sinewy, stringy, and had the texture of a cheap cut of meat.

Definitely a tourist trap that doesn't care about repeat business.

So yummy! service was excellent, a lot of food for your money, plenty of leftovers. Absolutely delicious. Beer is really great, according to my husband. They have a full bar and will make you anything. Put off going for years. No idea why. Definitely a must try.

We saw the billboard on the turnpike and decided to stop for dinner. The outside looked promising.

The inside had very interesting decor - from the bovine taxidermy to the restored model T (?) to the political signs and posters from the 1850s through WW2. The bar centered the space with a really intriguing spiral staircase (off limits at this point) heading to the basement.

We must have gone on an off night. There were only 2 waiters and one of them was shadowing the first as it was her second day on the job. The bar tender couldn't ring out meal tabs; the POS system wasn't working correctly and they had a process to ring people out.

The food was ok to a bit over priced.

There were definitely specialty beers available as they make the beer on site, but we didn't partake.

I love Stoudts beers. They make fantastic seasonal brews that are very tasty. I went to the brewery bar for the first time to try some of the seasonal brews. To my dismay the tap system was down, but they were using bottles. It was a great experience except for the antique like atmosphere. It was very old looking inside. TV's at the bar were no big and not in high def so watching football was very difficult.

October Fest beer was good the food was a little less then I was expecting

Great selection of Stoudt's beer for every taste and good food. This place has really changed over the years, if you haven't stopped by lately it is work a look again.

Food was eh. Service was horrible. Took an hour and a half to have an app and a burger. Water was rarely refilled

My wife and I stopped in for lunch a few weeks ago on a Sunday. This place was nice, but nothing special. Service was good and the restaurant tried to recreate an old world feel. Food was good but, again, nothing special. I would visit again for a casual lunch.

Ordered pork shoulder with mashed potatoes. Half of the pork pieces were fat and the potatoes were watery tasting. Won't order that ever again. My date got brisket and macaroni and cheese. Very greasy. Will go back again cause I have had good meals in the past and they have good beer!

I always eat the schnitzel. And, all the beer is top notch.

After going there for a number of years the same as within the last couple years things have changed the menu has become very limited very little good German food as in the old days the beer is still good but the restaurant is overpriced for the meal she to get wife had fish sandwich which was just okay I had a burger which was pretty good but not much better than Diner quality food I don't think we'll be going back

A little pricey for me but the food is great, lots if beer choices, and a nice atmosphere.

Not really a German restaurant anymore. They have a new menu and a new chef. Most of the favorites are gone and the ones that are left are no where near as good as they were. Sadly this will be our last visit here.

Great food, outstanding beers very friendly people and an awesome venue. We love this place and the people as we are welcomed like family even though we had not been back for five years.

Went for a wedding. Food was wonderful. I'm not much of a drinker, but those who are enjoyed their German crafted beers.

This place is amazing. Everything from the food, to the beer, to the atmosphere, to the helpful wait staff. The food was absolutely delicious with big portions. The beer was so over the top. It made me rethink everything about their beer selection. I have never seen a place with an atmosphere like here. It was super comfortable and so cool eclectic. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and beer selection. She was also very helpful making sure everything was exactly what we ordered and prepared properly. I would recommend anyone in the area should stop by eat here and have a few beers.

Mediocre restaurant experience. Stick with just grabbing some six packs or cases from their self-serve section at the front.

We visit Stoudts weekly and have always had great drinks, food and amazing service. The staff have always been polite prompt and courteous. Never been disappointed!

Excellent service at bar, crab dip bread bowl app hit the spot! Nice app for two with a flight of four Stoudts craft brew. One of the oldest craft brewers in Pa. I recommend the gearshifter IPA.
