I like to support local theaters but the last 3 plays I have seen here were not that good. We just saw the Late Night Catechism which wasn't that funny. That was a waste of $90.

Loved it. Grandson played Harry. His grandfather would be very proud!
I have gotten annual subscriptions for over 10 years. The quality of acting, the variety and quality of shows produced, and the whole atmosphere is excellent. They serve snacks, soft drinks, and beer and wine, which they allow in the theatre. They have reduced price tickets and matinees. They have children's plays, which are performed by children. They have camps and other learning programs for kids.
Production are great.....convenient suburban playhouse. Parking can sometimes be tricky but manageable within a couple blocks.
Besides a great theater company to see professional productions, GBSC is an amazing place for kids age 8-18 to get experience with acting. There are summer camps and productions during the school year. The summer camps are open to all kids while the other productions require auditions and in scoring a role. The teaching staff are professionals and the philosophy is clearly about growing both the actor and the child. Some camps are just about putting on a great show - but GBSC emphasizes techniques, improv, dance, singing and just being supportive of each other. My son loves the community of kids and his teachers/ directors. The plays are all supported by professional technical crews so the productions always run perfectly and well organized. My only serious gripe is that their summer camp Day is not long enough for parents and their extended day program is super expensive for sitting on the floor in a big empty room.
Enjoyed their professionally-produced play adaptation of It's a Wonderful Life. Leave time to find parking on the street or municipal parking lots, though.
We really enjoyed the performance. I was pleasantly surprised. Good job and a nice place to visit!
We went to a sixties and seventies music fest and had a blast.
The Youth Program of Greater Boston Stage does a fabulous job with kids, staging first-class plays for young actors. Just saw "Willy Wonka", and it was super!
Love seeing the young company here. Cozy theatre with great performances
Went to see our nephew's play. Clean, comfy theater. Small concession stand.
Chaperoned a school field trip - theater is a great size and the young performers did a great job. Had no idea this little gem was here - we will definitely be back to see additional performances!
The actors were very talented and awesome. I loved every moment of this production.
Saw Mookie's open mike on stage
Fantastic show. Great venue!
Enjoyed the production of "Calendar Girls". It was very well done!
What an amazing performance of "she loves me." So great!
This is a nice, intimate theater. Snacks and drinks are available.
Great small theater just a few miles North of Boston. The shows are excellent.
Great local production. Great staff. Very comfortable facility.
This Experience of " MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET " At The STONEHAM THEATER, has been a SUPERNATURAL WAVE of LOVE ! The AUDIENCE Became ONE with The ACTORS ! I HIGHLY RECOMEND This SHOW For People who Need An UPLIFTING in THEIR Everyday LIFE ! Ben
Excellent value in a comfortable theater. They tale chances.
It's a lovely intimate house, with one balcony and a large orchestra section. Concessions sells snacks alcohol, and coffee. While the sound in the space isn't perfect for theater (it used to be a movie theater) there are assisted listening devices available in the box office. There is also a small art gallery just off of the main lobby.
Small, but the theater has great acoustics. The play I saw had an awesome set.
Fantastic rendition of Titanic, the Musical in a beautiful theatre.
Awesome place to go! Great staff. Easy to get to. Quality performances.
Excellent show and the staff is very friendly. It's an old theater but comfortable and clean
Not much public parking. Great venue, however wouldn't sit in balcony again. Front balcony blicked by railing.
We've been members for years now. Membership is a good deal, it's not only affordable, it encourages you right see everything, and if you see everything you'll try new things. They really try to program a mix of fare, from old musical theatre chestnuts to serious and discussion-provoking drama. And the whole experience of membership is more than the sum of the parts. Sometimes you go just because you've got the seats, only to discover something great and unexpected.
I've been acting here for years and it's great! I've also seen a few shows, and everything is always great!
Really nice local theatre - worth it to see local shows here
We are members . Clean theatre. Great prices.Great talent.
I love coming here to perform and see shows I would recommend to everybody to come to greater Boston stage company I would definitely recommend looking at their summer camp as well which has always been a blast for me. I love greater Boston stage company and will definitely come back for more. All the shows here are always great and there are shows ranging for Young kids to Adults. Shows such as Frozen Jr. to Chicago. The shows will fill your heart with delight.
Great shows love this local theater and they are worth the ticket!
Great all around -- lighting, audio, performances, stage design. The theater is cozy. Staff are very personable. The concession serves cocktails themed to the show. Love, love the ability to park close by on Main Street.
Great professional theatre at extremely affordable prices!
"Menopause, the Musical" at Stoneham Theatre was hysterical! So so funny!
Went and saw Ted Vigil perform, what a great little theatre. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We will be back!
Brought my neice here to see their production of Annie. She was on CLOUD 9. All the actors/actresses did a fantastic job. They were all kids!!! Keep up the great work.
Great local stage company. Always impressed when I see something there.
Amazing summer camp for the kids and what a lovely stage and theatre. Small but sweet.
Wonderful, quality theater featuring great sets and excellent actors. It is an old converted, movie theater, with good viewing.
Lovely small town theatre with great professional actors and innovative sets. Their seasons are a mix of familiar works and new discoveries. Really enjoy plays and stand up here. Parking is easy if you just arrive a half hour before. They sell wine and soft drinks in lobby. Very reasonably priced
I love theater so it is a plus for me that I live so close to the theater. The last show we watched was The Addam's Family with the Young Co. The play was a different take on the story. It was very entertaining and the music was lively. Always enjoy the performances there.
A small theater (not as small as the Lyric Stage) w no bad seats. Great plays. U won't be disappointed.
Was a former local movie theater converted to stage productions and it makes for an intimate setting. Not a bad seat in the house and the productions are performed wonderfully by some real talented performers.
Love everything about this place. I wish I could go to all the shows
