I went to the stone soup company and ordered a Cuban and go a ruban and I called the next day to make a complaint and they said there was nothing they could do because I didn't call after they where closed to make my complaint she said acted as if I should know they where still there for a hour after they. Closed not the most intelligent people working there make sure if you go to check your order before you leave !
The sandwiches I did get where ok but I came to Tampa from Pensacola and all I wanted was a Cuban sandwich very disappointed

I would have left a nicer review, but our waitress Sarah was quite rude with me at the end of my visit. The two stars I'm leaving is simply for the food. I ordered the beef or chicken empanadas and cafe con leche flan. Both were really delicious! I could tell they were made fresh. My stepmom was with me and she ordered a burger. The first issue was when my stepmom got her burger. Sarah failed to disclose that burgers served are blackened on a grill to the point that they look burnt. My stepmom let our waitress Sarah know that her burger appeared burnt and all she got in response was "Oh, it just comes like that. If you don't like your burgers like that you should have just ordered something else." How was she supposed to know the burgers are served that way? The answer was unsatisfactory to say the least, but my stepmom let it slide. She ended up cutting up the burger to avoid eating the burnt parts. Everything went smoothly until I was waiting for my cafe con leche and we noticed a blonde waitress was walking around with her facemask pulled down below her chin (totally exposing her mouth and nose). We asked her to please pull it back up, and the retort we got was "Why don't you put your face mask on?". We're eating at a restaurant...why would we be wearing a face mask at our table when we have food? Regardless, we decided to ask Sarah for the waitress' name to possibly speak to management or mention her in a review. This was by far the most appalling part of Sarah's behavior. My stepmom had left to go get the car as I paid for our orders. I had given Sarah a $5 tip on a $30 order and we had not complained at all during our time in the restaurant. I asked for Sarah's name, then I asked for the blonde waitress' name. The response I got was "Why? If it's for a bad Yelp review I don't think I want to tell you". I was absolutely shocked at this response. I explained her that the waitress has failed to wear a mask properly and then was rude to us about it. Sarah then made an excuse for her not wearing a mask properly (when there is no excuse) and continued to refuse to tell me the waitress' name. At this point I was absolutely disappointed and simply left the restaurant. This behavior was appalling considering how good the food was. I really hope they can improve their treatment of guests and ability to follow CDC guidelines. I will not be coming back to this restaurant, but I might order pickup so I can have the food without dealing with rude waitresses!

Very quaint little restaurant with a very creative menu( Jewben Sandwich a Rueben on cuban bread), friendly staff and huge portions. The soup is good but don't let that believe they only serve soup.

DO NOT WASTER YOUR MONEY!

DO NOT WASTER YOUR MONEY!

Decent looking bar, TERRIBLE restaurant. I paid almost $30 for soft french fries- a dried burger - and two mushroom caps with some scattered green peppers. Literally the worst experience I ve ever had. Insulting portions and terrible wait time.

As a vegan I am sick and tired of these places who add vegan items to their menu but refuse to answer basic questions regarding food preparation.

TO MANAGEMENT- Stop adding Vegan menu items for profit if you don t understand or are unwilling to train your employees.

Disgusted- and this is the day after I have cooled off.

super friendly staff... my favorite place in ybor!!! the cuban sandwich is the BEST in Tampa!! Soups are always on point! Just had a $5 craft cocktail poured from a keg :) they also fed over 500 front line doctors and nurses in the past 2 months and donated over 90k cups of soup to those in need since opening... this place gets it and I will always support them.

Jessica and staff were awesome. Generally we always go to Carmines but the staff at Moffitt suggested The Stone Soup Company. I have to say it was beyond delicious, and the Cuban was the best I have had yet. The black beans and yellow rice were very flavorful, we will be back.

Liked the food but hated the servers. Never been so disrespected in my life. Took 55 min for salad. Really?... I don't understand, waited 5 minutes at the door not knowing what to do then a guest told me I can sit anywhere..... The beer is yummy, food good but the service is terrible..... It shouldn't take an hour for a salad to come out.

Surprisingly upscale place! The atmosphere is great, and most of the menu items are affordable and worth the price.
I recommend coming here for little dates or hanging out. Your typical neat little restaurant.

My boyfriend and I came here on a really cold night because the soup I had made still had like 2 hours we were cold and hungry. we came in they were pretty busy, seated quickly then nothing for half an hour. I went up to their to go area and said something and Jessica turned the entire night around for us. She way outstanding and so was our food. She came over and say down with us and talked for a little bit, we will be going back soon and asking for her!!!!

Stone soup was pretty good. More 3.5 for me but more deserving than 3 stars.

This is a new location for the company and suits them nicely. Plenty of room and cool decor. I love the menu options. Obviously tons of sandwiches and soups. Something for everyone. Stone Soup Company also offers a full liquor bar (you kinda have to in Ybor).

Most everything is homemade. My husband's French onion soup was delicious. You could really taste the wine and it wasn't sweet. My Spanish bean soup was ok. After a bit of salt and hot sauce I enjoyed it. I have however had better down the block. My Cuban was presented nicely not if was almost cold. For a freshly pressed sandwich I was missing the warm toasty bread and cheese. The meat was bland but over all I would order again.

We enjoyed our lunch and could see revisiting maybe just checking out some different me u items next go round.

Strolled in for lunch when my usual place across the street was closed.

Friendly staff, great food, nice vibe. The best part to me that earns 5 stars was the charitable giving the restaurant does in the local area.

This used to be one of my fav spots to eat while going to HCC. The old location was very homey, welcoming, and they knew your order type of place. The new locale farther down 7th is bigger and now super busy. This is about the 3rd time we ve came and the waiters pass by you maybe 3-4x before you re even recognized and the food takes really long, like and hour for a bowl of soup long. This time was no diff, also the waiter never write down any orders so she was constantly coming back to her tables to repeat orders back. Don t feel as happy about this place as before they moved.

The food is always amazing. I consider this restaurant me treating myself to something great. The servers are friendly and quick. When they visit your table, they're not too pushy, not too lazy, just right. The chili is a classic and the broccoli soup is delicious. I'm also in love with the Cubans they have, my favourite is the Real Cuban with french fries and a cream soda. I haven't been to the spookeasy yet but I'm excited to see it and what it has to offer. The overall style, music, and ambiance of Stone Soup is always great and their prices are reasonable for how good the food is. I can't wait until my next visit to treat myself.

A few friends and i came here at around 1pm on a Sunday afternoon. There were many tables open and we were seated within moments of entering the cafe at a half booth. The table was very wobbly, so we had to stabilize it with napkins under the legs.

The menu was decent with many options for special diets. Our waitress was cordial and took our orders quickly. I ordered a side of fries to be brought out as soon as they were done (to be an appetizer as i was pretty hungry), my friend ordered a salad, and my other friend ordered a burger (which apparently they can only cook well-done?) It took about 35 minutes for just the fries to come out.

After about 45 minutes our meals had still not arrived and our waitress had not visited our table. We called her over and asked how much longer it would be. She replied that the wait was due to one of our burgers taking a while on the grill and apologized, walking away. We were a bit taken aback as she made it seem like it was our problem the wait was so long because of what we had ordered. Plus she did nothing to make up for it.

There were staff standing around behind the counter, and we overheard a waiter complaining to another party that they were slammed busy - the restaurant was half-empty...

After almost an hour, our food finally arrived and it wasn t anything special. My rice was not fully cooked all the way (45 minutes to make rice and it s undercooked??) and my burrito bowl was served on a plate, making it a little hard to eat. I think my friends were satisfied with their meal though.

Our waitress remained unbothered by the fact that we waited an hour for our food so it was reflected in her tip.

Word to management: train your wait staff how to treat their tables when the kitchen is behind, and train the kitchen staff how to cook rice better. Also get tables that don t wobble.

I came back and tried the Cuban it was seriously the best in Tampa!! Not to mention the fact that this place does so much for the community!! I love spending my money with locally owned establishments.

Server was very pleasant. It gets three stars because we waited more than 15 minutes after we sat down for any one to come to us to get our drink order. After orders were taken, we waited for almost 30 minutes for our food to be served. Food was fine. Debatable if it was worth the extended wait time.

City ordinance states masks must be worn inside and by staff of eating establishments. I asked the hostess if all the people working inside had masks, she assured me yes. The owner did not have a mask on. When I asked about it the servers shrugged.

There is a pandemic. Florida has the highest cases. I try to eat local to help keep you open and yet you do not extend the same courtesy to me by wearing a mask.

Poor judgement. We left

We haven't been to the new location , but can't wait to try it out. Every time we go the food is amazing . Last time I was there had the Cuban and French onion soup. The flavors of both are excellent ! You could probably find cheaper but you will scarfice quality and the exceptional flavor stone soup offers .

Went here for a quick lunch before a Yankee's game. Staff was helpful and friendly. Service was good to very good. We had the Jueban and Stoney sandwiches. Very tasty and good portion size. Will definitely come back and try the soup during our next trip to Ybor City.

Great space! They have a really cool second floor that has extra seating and book case. It also has a secret bar upstairs. The soup we had was not worth the hype. The 3 cheese soup was actually very bland and had a burnt taste.. probably from the pot it was cooked in. Their fried pickles were great!

The food was great but if you have high blood pressure, might wanna steer clear of a few things because some of the items on the menu like lobster bisque and french fries are VERY salty. And the server was really nice but for it being a Friday night, there should not just be 2 servers...keep in mind... one of them worked as the 2nd server while being the bartender for the entire place.

Amazing food!!! Very very nice staff also. We will absolutely be back
Fast forward to July 3, 2020. So disappointed in the food we got today. Called to advise because it was so far off from our previous experiences there. Owner called back, asked me to explain
As I was explaining he continually talked over me and then got loud. Bad move. Let's add that before explaining about the sub par food we praised the Cubans which were phenomenal. But the customer service received today was completely out of line. Sadly we won't be going back.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. It was my first visit. Tried the Tomato soup and it was the best I have had in many years. The carrots added to this recipe helped add just a touch of sweetness. The Cuban sandwich was awesome as well.

You ever hear that song Killer Parties by the Hold Steady. Great song and they reference Ybor City in it. I could see the band quietly enjoying a meal here before a gig, and that's pretty cool.

Half the appeal was the art, the other half was the food. If you order the fried Mac and cheese bites, it comes with a cheese dipping sauce that also goes great with the fries. I liked that the Cuban was cut down the middle and the mojo dipping sauce topped it off.

The food and atmosphere were terrific, but the service was sorely lacking. And, although it's my fault for not paying better attention, I feel like I was duped on the bill. I picked up the tab for our party of 7, and in trying to be surreptitious, I didn't look at the check as closely as I should have. Gratuity had been added already without my knowledge, so my undeserved generous tip became almost 50%. Buyer beware.
