Really disappointing. It s a stunning hotel and the facilities are all very well kept. I arrived to check in at 10.30pm after a long day. The receptionist seemed to have lost my paperwork and took another 10 minutes to print more. She said oh we thought you weren t coming - surely in that situation someone would have called me?

I get to my room at 10.50, starving having not had dinner. Order some room service and my order is accepted. 20 minutes later they call me back and say they can t bring my food as the kitchen is now closed. I am then in my nightwear having decided just to try to unwind when there is a knock on my door with someone bringing ladies items that someone had requested and were being brought to the wrong room.

Finally another 15 minutes later as I m in bed, the phone rings to ask if I m ok as it s obviously been fed back that I was unhappy after the room service incident.

All in all not what I would have expected from a hotel with this reputation. Really disappointed

My experience was encapsulated at the end of the stay when we were just preparing to leave the room and an alarm sounded. At first I thought it was a fire alarm but then it sounded again after a few minutes followed by a call from reception: we had stayed in the room a few minutes longer than the 11 am sharp cut-off allowed.

This was an expensive two day break with my son - and overall it felt like the hotel and spa was all about the money.

The location is splendid with vast parkland but unless you are a golfer you don't really get to enjoy it.

Learning from experience, I will not be returning.

Old school hotel in the best possible way. Huge rooms, character around every corner, fires in every room. Incredible grounds (Capability Brown), great golf course, spa and leisure centre much newer and worth visiting.

Lovely place to walk the dogs in good weather, with structures for the kids to play on. Recently opened up a dirt bike track, with jumps etc., so now the place has something to do for every age, a feature desperately needed in Bishopstoke.

Very disappointing. It s amazing how misleading photos can be! As soon as you drive up you can see how run down the hotel is, it just looks depressing and unwelcoming. Inside the hotel, the furniture is all very old and run down. The scents of the hotel is old, the room that we were meant to stay in which is the best room available, wasn t up to standard. I can imagine it being much nicer in the summer, the spa is nice and the gym facilities. But value for money, save it and go to either coworth park or Cliveden house.

Great escape and spa. Well maintained golf course. Amazing food, service and staff. You will feel special and looked after. Used as exterior for many films and tv. Close to M4 and Windsor for days out. Definitely worth a revisit.

Stunning place, amazing pool, gym, sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub. We were members for 3 years and only left when we moved, very sad to leave it. The location, grounds, changing rooms, gym and pool all stunning. All staff very good, polite, helpful and well presented.

Nice large wood with walking/cycling paths throughout. There are also wooden structures for the kids to play on dotted in the woods.
Once your in there are not any maps to assist you walking around but you will come out somewhere and work it out.
Feel your miles away from the hustle and bustle of things.

A fabulously unique hotel spa resort just half an hour from Central London. The grand palladian mansion has opulent interiors and a fine dining restaurant Humphry's. An excellent place to get spoilt and the suites are amazing.
Stoke Park Spa is an awarding winning spa and one of the best day spas within easy reach of London. Great spa treatments and well maintained facilities.
Lots of special deals are on offer all year round.

Really should be five stars but let down by service in some areas. Especially the President's Bar where the service was slow, forgetful and surly and also the Pavillion cafe for breakfast where the waitress was more interested in her phone than serving. Rooms are good though as are meeting facilities and food.

This could possibly one of the top 5 spa's / spa days I have experiences. All of the spaces (including the outside hot tub) are incredibly clean and well maintained. Staff are very polite. The treatment rooms and therapist deliver a five star standard. I had a full body massage and it was extremely relaxing. I would highly recommend a spa day/ spa break here.

I went here for the Boodles Tennis Tournament on a corporate day.

Shared tables of 10 was not mentioned in the brochure or when booking, so was disappointing. Food was ok for mass catering, service was average.

A lack of organisation made things in the restaurant slow and mixed up, with food arriving sporadically at the tables. Staff were a bit all over the place, taking a long time to respond to specific requests.

The same lack of organisation made my disabled mothers experience difficult, having to walk far more than she was really capable of. The laid on disabled transport to and from the court was very lacking, with no obvious pick up points. My mother, who has difficulty standing, was left for around 15 minutes standing in the rain.

All around disappointing given the cost, and certainly not the luxury experience we were expecting.

Restaurant let s it down....The hotel and spa facilities are great and 4 star but the restaurant Humphries was a let down. Ordered the mackerel as a starter, it comes raw with skin on and not the most pleasant thing to eat, the menu says marinated and once you receive the dish you realise it doesn t say cooked but it s just odd to have half a mackerel raw in your plate and the so called marinate can t be tasted. Chose the beef as the main and the mash is meant to be truffle mash, sadly it just taste like shop brought microwave mash and was cold. I chose the brownie for pudding, it s a chocolate biscuit with loads of mouse on top it s not a brownie, it was very nice but not a brownie. Sadly don t think it s worth the money it costs. Waiters are nice and mean well but annoyed us by constantly asking us if we wanted to order wine despite telling them we would finish our existing drinks and order wine with our main.

Stayed here for an anniversary getaway and it was everything we needed. We purchased the spa getaway package and am very glad we did. Our room was nice ( just a standard room was quite comfortable and luxurious), had dinner at Humphreys and it was top notch, and the spa and facilities are excellent. We will definitely return.

I absolutely love this place. Its one of my favourite places to come for either lunch, dinner or just a casual coffee to watch the world go by. We've dined in Humphry's about five times now and it never disappoints. The food is beautifully presented and tastes even better then it looks. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. It truly is worth the visit for the experience.

Facilities lovely, San Marco restaurant staff fantastic but disappointing Spa experience for a joint 50th birthday Spa Break. No itinerary given on arrival which lead to a mix up over timings of treatments, poor staff communication and time wasted 'hanging around'! Breakfast in the Orangery was ok, but staff constantly hovering around made us feel that we needed to leave! We shared our experience with the Guest/Hotel Manager on the day and were assured of a response the next day. None came. We received an email from the Operations Manager 5 days later. Not at all what we expected from a 5* hotel.

We turned up impromptu and asked if we could eat somewhere. A doorman told us it was only residents or members. He then let us in and a lovely lad called Carlos gave us a table in the restaurant. My word what a stunning interior! Sparkling chandeliers abound, huge paintings gorgeous decor. Gentle music playing in the background almost like a gramaphone created a peaceful air of tranquillity. Good food, service impeccable. Huge French Windows washing in copious amounts of warm yellow sunlight. Nice place! Nice place indeed
