Ghetto, horrible, and disgusting. Save your money and live somewhere like Plaza or Retreat. Rooms are old and appliances are broken and managemnt is horrible and not helpful at all. Pools are always disgustingly dirty and you could find a better gym at a motel. Hallways are constantly full of trash. Did an experiment by putting a soda can on the side of the hallway to see how long it would take for staff to come and pick it up. The can was there for 3 weeks. Glad to say I am moved out of this run-down excuse of an apartment building. Do not live here. Maybe the staff should take less time responding to the thousands of negative reviews online / revealing personal info about clients, and more time tending to their apartment complex

Honestly I been here for a year and I renewed.People complain about things like cars getting towed when all you have to do is park correctly.Havent had to many problems here.only problem is the gym is not all that and not to many other activities throughout the community. The positive thing is they have NO CAPS which outweighs any negative thing because I'm use to having overages every month.

I'm a future resident who is in the process of moving to The Marquee. I've yet to become an actual resident and quite frankly I'm rather disappointed. I don't expect ANY place to be perfect however I do expect professionalism in SOME SORT. I've made several calls to the office (as I am currently living in another state) to inquire about details along the lines of moving in. Every staff member I speak to (Ashton, etc) seems very bothered and annoyed. I've not come across one apartment staff who happily answered my questions without a rude tone of voice, one word answers, and a "YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT, you're wasting my time" attitude. I do understand that reviews are ALL relative (based on your outlook and personal experience) and does not mean everyone will have a bad outcome, which is why I decided to go with Marquee. However, I've lost the little excitement I did have about moving in due to the several conversations I've had with the rude, unrelenting, unhappy staff. Here's to HOPEFULLY a great year... when I move in.

Nice place, college students just need to learn to be clean and know how to be an adult because they are messy and dont know how to clean up after themselves. I love this place, the office staff always treat me nice. One of the employees I think his name is Victor, he always helps me and is the nicest person ever. I recommend that everyone meet him and get in contact with him whenever in need of help.

This place is a trash heap infested with cockroaches
After living here for a year i cannot recommend this place less. Thre irresponsible staff will charge you for anything missing prior. The assistant manager is unwilling to resolve any dispute for said charges. On top of being one of the most notoriously dangerous apartment complexes in the area they feed off their location across the university by tricking individuals with their demo rooms. Don't come here go literally anywhere else you're better off and sill save money in the long run

The residence is usually quiet, parking is not an issue and staff are most helpful. With covid, this place is under capacity so extremely chill and a great haven for studying. Location to campus is perfect as I am no further than a mile from the center of campus so I bike to class. If that's not your style, the bus pulls right up to the leasing office ever 15~20 min to take you on the 10 min drive to campus. Kitchen amenities are great and are well used in my apartment since I love to cook. The pool is great for doing laps and the gym newly renovated. Most units come with a small balcony which is a great space for a morning coffee and get some fresh air.

This place is awful. I would not recommend The Marquee to anyone I know. I've had a 360 horrible experience. Everything from roommates, cleanliness, to parking has been an issue here. The only reason why people decide to move here after reading the reviews is the location. I read the reviews before I moved in and I moved in anyways. Its been a NIGHTMARE!!!!!!

Some of the good thing are the price, the room size, the apartment itself and the location. Shuttles come every10ish minutes. But please save your money and go some place else this place is disgusting. It smells! Trash and stupid random things appear like undies and bras at the corner of the staircase, a peanut butter cup on the stair and stayed there for the whole time I lived there. Parking is always packed in the afternoon but oh well most of student housings are like that. But the gate handle from the garage to the hallway is always broken, like literally broken and torn out of the door. Feels like I'm living with Tarzans cavemen or something like that. The front gate of parking garage always broken and the fob doesn't work half of the time. HIGH CRIME RATE!!!! There were 2 shootings that involved dozen of cop cars and helicopters during the time I lived there. Crazy people screaming down the street all night. Like they literally went crazy, crying talking to themselves singing saying nonsense for hours under our apartment. It was 2AM something and took the cops / securities almost an hour to settle it down. My roommate had to suffer the noise of incredibly stupid rap music from the apartment above us. Reported them so many times we lost count and they stopped for a week and nothing changed. Know a guy got robbed at the parking garage at 3AM. One Sunday morning 3 strange guys tried to break into our apartment; they first knocked and said they were there for some campaign and then banging on our door, trying to put their keys in, sitting in front of our door for 10 mins and move on to the apartment across us. Called the security and no one pick up the phone. Call the cops and it took them 15 mins to get there and we saw those guys drove away before the cops got there from my roommate's window. When we reported it to the manager she acted like my roommates were overacting (LOL!!!!!) and those guys were just knocking on the wrong apartment! Managers are rude and do not care once they got you signed the contract. The list goes on and on and on... Please just stay away from this place...

They are very tricky people every one who doesn't have serious position or as in a manager or supervisor, don't believe anything they say take it up with someone with authority for this community or else you will deal with a lot of issues and stressful time living here.

Since moving in March of last year, the property has made large improvements. However, they do not overrule the negatives. Things are always broken, security doesn't have a strong presence and there have been several occasions where I was given an eviction notice when I paid rent and the office messed up. Improvements have been made as far as community events and trying to bring the buildings together. - 3 stars

Look , Im gonna keep it clean and HONEST. Parents If you love your child . If you care for your child. Don't do it. Please . Pleaseeeeeeeee Don't sign the lease. This neighborhood is filthy. Awful. 2 Weeks left move out day will mark a great milestone in my life.

Moving my daughter out today was a shock. Her apartment was infested with fleas. After she got through explaining she had reported them weeks ago she also mentioned a few months ago the had a cockroach infestation and bought the poison to get rid of them herself when no one came after she had called. Looking under all sinks all the cabinets are black with mold. Know wonder why she was so sick off and on all year! This place is a pit. I wish I could give zero stars.

I am a Transfer student from Miami and I m studying Aerospace Engineering at UCF and in absolute honesty I believe that The Marquee is a fantastic place to live. When relocating, I was hesitant on moving here because of some low reviews but I later came to understand that those horrific reviews were all intended for the previous administration! This current administration keeps things TIP TOP!!!
I absolutely love it here.
1st. It s safe, there s constantly police vehicles coming through and making sure everything s all right. There s also security guards always ready to help. They also do safety checks and keep you updated through email/text.
2nd. The staff is extrewmely willing to help! If you are kind and courteous, I guarantee they will be the same in return.. keep in mind that this is off campus student housing and they have to deal with lots of not so kind individuals on a daily basis. If you need absolutely aaanything Carlos is the man to go to! He is extraordinary and an exemplary staff member at the marquee.
3rd. It s convenient because it s right next to UCF with a shuttle service that literally helps you cross the street (UCF is right there.) If the shuttle runs late you can almost walk. Biking to UCF is prob. 5 min. It s also right on Alafaya so anything you need is located in the surrounding area.
4th. Maintenance requests get fulfilled ASAP and I do have to give them props for this. You put in a request online and it will usually get solved, if not the day of, the very next day. (obviously depending on the issue at hand)
5th. If you want to get integrated into the UCF student life, I m sure the Marquee will help. The staff does an incredible job at creating A TON of opportunities to meet people. It s crazy, there s events almost every week that you can take part in.. it s pretty cool. From pool parties, free lunches, taco days, bbqs, you name it and the probably do it (if not you can probably even recommend it.) They do a fantastic job at this.
I certainly recommend the marquee both if you have extremely rigorous schedules like my brother and I or you have more laid back schedules. Contact Carlos at the office and I m sure he ll help out with anything.

I would give this place no stars if it was possible. The management and office staff is rude and unhelpful. They do not repair anything. they never answer the office phones and the noise levels are ridiculous!!! the shutle not only wakes me up but shakes my walls whenever it's in the complex. we had a roach issue bc of our neighbors and they didn't seem to car that roaches were taking over there building. the garbage shoot was always over flowing, there where used needles in the parking garage someone had all four of their tires stolen and someone else had the back windshield of their car smashed in. my old roommate got her finger broken by the heavy a$$ garage door,...the list goes on and on...what topped it off for me was the mold that started growing bacause of the broken a/c unit. it was obvious that it was mold but everyone in the office that i spoke to claimed it was "water damage". since when does water damage look like mushrooms growing out of your wall?? I starting having health issues because of this and would wake up out of my sleep because i was unable to breathe. The proptery manager MEGAN had the nerve to smile in my face and say that there is something going around so it might not be mold at all....i had to pay almost $400 to get an expert in to prove that there was mold that had actually traveled into the a/c unit. the staff is a joke and so is their customer service and i'm beyond happy to no longer be living there. my advice is DO NOT BE FOOLDED BY THE MODEL. it's horrible living there. i've had to endure the fire alarms being pulled pretty much every week, DURING at 2 and 3 in the morning when i had a test the next morning & other people had class. the funny thing is a few of the culprits now work for sterling. lets not get started on the amount of times the cops are there for drugs, ect.
DON'T WALK AWAY FROM STERLING, RUN AWAY!!!
YOUR BETTER OFF RENTING AN APT WITH FRIENDS WHICH WOULD WORK OUT CHEAPER OR LIVING IN A DIFFERENT COMMUNITY LIKE RIVERWIND OR THE VILLAGE AT ALAFAYA CLUB

I ve enjoyed my stay here everything is decent usually the people who complain about the little things have never lived on their own before and don t know how it is. The only bad thing about this place is how they keep raising the rent. I started off at 585 when I first moved in then it dropped to 519 after i renewed then the next renewal period it raised to 570 and now they re talking about raising it to 650 this renewal period. So other than that the marquee is ok . Oh and there are roaches. My roommates and I have tried to do everything there is about them but they re still there and we keep the apartment spotless. But it s college student housing im not expecting it to be perfect. So besides the rent and roaches the marquee is decent.

This is my second year living here and some things I do enjoy are: how close the apartment location is to campus, no utility caps, and the staff is friendly and willing to accomodate. I do see they are making property wide improvements to the apartments and I do think they need them considering the wear and tear college students have done over the years. Overall, the location has been extremely convenient and I do enjoy living here.

Worse place ever. I had a stalker and although there was a camera right outside my apartment they refused to check it. Not safe. I am extremely clean and yet had a big roach problem. The AC resets every few hours so your apartment always gets extremely hot. What they show you is not what you get.

The marquee is a great place to live!! The staff is extremely friendly and kind. They also try to keep our community engaged by constantly doing games! The layout to the marquee is beautiful! My window has a direct view to the pool and has become my new favorite study spot.
Lol, I don't even live here. I just randomly walke...
Lol, I don't even live here. I just randomly walked into the building one day, through an open stairwell with my girlfriend, just to check the place out, just to roam the halls. (Stellar security right there.) And well, the halls were gross. Looked bad and smelled bad and there was a puddle in the hall of what could have either been piss or stagnant water. We were both surprised and wondered why most of these kids that live there are even living there in the first place. Oh right, from the outside looks of this place, they figured they would be living somewhat luxuriously.
Honestly though, lucky for residents there that I wasn't an ax-wielding murderer hell bent on killing dumb ass college kids who drunkenly cry out to me as I'm leaving the building (pretty quickly since I didn't want to keep breathing in piss) "Hey bro, if I give you my keys can you go into my room and get me something?" When I refused, was honest with him, and told him that I come from the neighborhood nearby (the whole area just isn't safe tbh) he started complaining about how "shady" people were just being let in to wander.
Lol okay.
Well for one, there's no gate or sign
declaring that people can't pass through the very open area that leads into their parking garage so we just assumed anyone could walk through that spot seeing as how it's pretty much screaming "Walk through here." So no I don't care. Two, he was about to give this "shady person" his room keys. His room keys. Just think about the situation for a minute and realize how little it makes sense. He had them dangling out towards me and everything. Not gonna lie but sometimes I sit and ponder "What if?" What if I was a psychopath that would have done more than taken his room keys? You can imagine the rest had I been someone like that.
In short, the security here seemed non-existent, they wouldn't be able to keep tabs on who is in and out of the building anyway apparently, and I could have murdered/robbed someone. So slip in and slip out if you want to check this place out because there is bound to be a way in.
1/10 for my disappointing hallway tour. I've seen project buildings that look more accommodating and clean than this place.

This one of the worst lving experiences that I hav...
This one of the worst lving experiences that I have since I moved to Orlando three years ago and is by far the worst of the three other apartments I have lived in. Sterling has the outside appearance of being a very nice apartment complex but when you get up close you can see just how disgusting and dirty it really is. The price is outrageously high for the qualtiy of living and the staff on hand is a compete joke. You can hear everything going on at all hours of the night and your sleep will be affected. You will be charged for overages no matter what time of year or how much electricity you use and don't expect an explanation. My air conditioning was broke for TWO MONTHS before they came to fix it after contacting maintenance. I would not recommend anyone to live here and I honestly feel bad for the people who signed leases for the upcoming year and are about to move in. I wish I could rate this ZERO stars but one star is the lowest I could go. This is not the thought of one person but probably 95% of the residents that lived there as well. The people below that ranked this 3/3 are probably the idiot staff members which would not suprise me at all. Former residents were outside cheering and high fiving after turning in their keys on move out day. RUN don't walk away from this nightmare of a apartment complex.

Tylin was so great! Originally when I moved in August of 2018 she helped me out so much explaining my lease to me and my roommates, and going to the full extent to make sure we are content with everything going on! If you ever go to the leasing office make sure you ask for her!

Lived in here this past year and the place does have its pros and cons. Supposedly there were shootings reported at the Marquee/Sterling this past year but were all said to be false. The neighborhood behind the apartment isn't the safest and usually that's where the shootings are told to take place. There were two robberies reported this past year too but management changed which is why the name changed and they have a whole bunch of security guards everywhere now and a whole bunch of cameras are being installed. The Marquee hardly ever picks up the phone so if you have a problem it's better if you go down and report it and they'll get to it quicker. I've been told Wifi sucks so me and my roommate invested in a wireless router. Besides all that, they have very pretty apartment rooms, with modern appliances contrary to most apartment complexes around that area, it's close to the school (so the bus never takes longer than 10 minutes and you're on campus in literally 5 minutes), they offer a lot of specials and discounts for rent. Honestly, I liked it and didn't have too many problems
If you ever want to have guests over (family, frie...
If you ever want to have guests over (family, friends, study buddies) then this is not the place for you. The parking garage is strictly resident access only, so if you are a guest, you have to have the resident buzz you in. So that means if you are staying the night then you can t even park your car until the resident is there with you. I was waiting for my friend to get back to his apartment in the outside lot and they called the tow truck immediately, so I had to drive around aimlessly for hours until the resident could get back. Furthermore, visitors must only park on the very top level, 7th floor, of the parking garage. I have heard both good and bad as far as living here goes, but this review goes towards my experience as a visitor.

It's not clean, lot of noise, residents are not clean, leaving trashes on the hallway. We had a burglary, some one broke our houses door and the management wanted to charge us because of that. And the management and front desk are really rude. I am not recommending this property at all.

The only good thing about this place was the fact ...
The only good thing about this place was the fact that I lived with my friends, it was fully furnished very well, the pool, the tanning bed, and the movie theater. I used the movie theater once, and when I was done using it I left the xbox controller in the movie theater, as I was NOT instructed to return it to the office. Because I left my ID there for a few days, they jumped to the assumption that I stole the xbox controller. My roommates were in there with me and they could witness this. "The Marquee" has an extreme theft problem, and a very bad reputation. Hince why they changed their name from Sterling to The Marquee. It is located in a unsafe area, right in front of the government housing. There was a drive by shooting just outside of the apartments. My ex boyfriend's friend's apartment got robbed, and every valuable got stolen out of the apartment. My roommate's car got broken into. Like I mentioned before, the xbox controller got stolen out of the theater, because of lack of attention from the staff. They told us MONTHS ago that they were going to install security cameras to try to prevent criminal activity, or to find out who was doing it but still failed to do so. I payed a decent amount of money to be living there, and it seems like most of that money went to paying their staff, which all of them are not friendly. With all the staff that they have, you would think that they would be able to maintain the cleanliness of the property....wrong. The parking garages, elevators, hallways are absolutely DISGUSTING. They only maintained the hallways of the first and second floors because it was where the model rooms are and where they bring the parents and new residents through. The only time that they ever cleaned my hallway on the fourth floor was 3 days before I moved out after living there for a year. They would wipe down the floors, but it didn't do anything. They could've used the same cleanser they used before I moved out to clean the floor all year. When they did clean the floors, they never put a wet floor sign. I could've slipped and sued. I tried to tell the maintenance worker that they needed a wet floor sign but he spoke no english at all. Why would you hire someone that doesn't speak english? I want to say 9/10 maintenance workers that I encountered when I lived there didn't speak english. There is camera's in the elevators so I don't understand how they couldn't clean the elevators every time there was a mess that was made. It was probably because the lazy staff didn't even bother to continuously check the cameras. Students lived there, so you could always expect there to be a puddle or urine or throw up in the stairwell or elevators. It made me not even want to go home. The mess would remain there for days, even a week before anyone noticed. The new security system is a joke. Most of the time the security guards were on their phones, didn't pay attention who was coming in, or not anywhere near the gate. The gates/doors that were entrances to the apartments were almost always broken or open, so there was no point to even having security guards. I would always call and report the broken entry points, but of course they never did anything to fix it. and they probably wonder why there was always robberies. There's no point of having security guards, a resident could let a criminal drive their car in, or ride in the back seat and the guards would never know. I lived there for a year, and every single time I made a complaint about the dirtiness of the place they never even made an attempt to fix it. I could go on and on about complaints about this place. I have always given them reviews about the living situations, but even after a year I saw no changes. And once you get this review you will probably never improve the place. It was a terrible first year living experience, and I will never resign there. I will continue to tell all my friends and family about how terrible this place is. And I will be sure to spread this review across the internet. A complete waste of money.

DO NOT move here. The absolute worst apartment complex I've lived my entire life. The staff could care less about you as long as you pay them the first three days of the month. They have the worst attitudes when you come to them for help/assistance & never know anything. Beyond disorganized with your lease/paperwork. The crime rate is high & only getting worse every month. I barely feel safe anymore.
It's just a horrible place to live.
Residents break doors, walls, crash peoples cars, ...
Residents break doors, walls, crash peoples cars, throw trash everywhere. Now its very common to be informed of a robbery going on at least once a week, and this is inside the private garage. "The security guards" if you can call them like that do not even have weapons to defend themselves, so I do not expect them to defend anybody, but get paid for only knocking residents doors to stop a party, or guide the vehicle traffic downstairs. The apartments are great let me give them that, but the common areas and the safety are the main issue that no single manager seems to be able to solve. The new managing company is just too cheap to invest some money in some real security system, and they even changed the name of the place from Sterling Central to the Marquee as a marketing strategy to try to erase the bad reputation of this complex and keep selling, but in the reality, they are the same or even worse. I cannot wait to move out of here once my lease is finished, and I could easily change this rating before I move out but I do not see any progress. Do not move here if you want to avoid some extra stress from school.

The Marquee is a really great place to live! It's located right across from UCF and the price is really great especially compared to neighboring apartments not nearly as close to the school. What's nicer is that everything is included in the cost of rent and there is no extra fee to park. The staff is really nice and maintenance does a great job of fulfilling requests. There's a gym, free printing, beautiful pools and fun events. They do an awesome job of room matching as well!

My son has lived at the Marquee for the last 2 yrs and we had renew the lease before COVID-19. He will be moving into different room because they have renovated the rooms, which is fine. My concern is that they have given the moving date to be August 21st and I feel that residences should have more days spread out so that the elevators or the other areas can be cleaned regularly. Management is very difficult.

My daughter has lived at The Marquee for a year now and i must say initially before signing our lease we were a bit stunned by the reviews but after the tour we decided to sign. The marquee has turned around tremendously and I can t thank them enough for providing a good college environment for my daughter. They have made a dramatic change this far, the leasing manager Gary made sure we were satisfied on move in day she went above and beyond to get us in a right room very quickly. Everyone is always helpful and provide great customer service. Right across from Ucf i highly recommend

Lacking efficiency in office. Reletting was a headache, staff was not thorough in explaining process. Lack of professionalism in regards to knowledge. Neither good at fixing nor preventing issues. A mistake was made and there was no apology nor responsibility taken. Upsetting. I like the complex style and the maintenance team responds quickly. Props to them only. The parking does not accommodate guests/family. If you're lucky enough to work with one of the only two competent agents and people don't visit you. You'll be alright.

TVs work for half an hour at a time, then the sound goes out. When you tell them about it, they say they need to see it happen while in the apartment. Guess how long they stay in the apartment? 5 min. LOL. Pretty sneaky and immoral if you ask me.

Overall, I have enjoyed my experience while living here this year. They definitely made some noticeable improvements after the fall semester which was a plus. However, I think the only thing that bothers me now is at night when the sprinklers are on the smell is almost unbearable. Hopefully they can fix that but other then that I've enjoyed living here.

I am currently living at The Marquee, it is my second year here. The fact I have renewed my lease can tell you about my opinion of the apartments. Aside from the fact I did not want to move my stuff, I chose to live here again because of the convenience and how close it is to school. Overall a great place.

The best thing about living at the Marquee is not just the amenities or the layouts of Phase One and Two. During these hard times, the staff go out of their way to create ways we can still connect virtually. Because of them i can look forward to Tuesdays and actually connect with some of my neighbors.

The staff are very helpful and I have really enjoyed talking to them. Also, there have been many repairs and they are truly making this place better to live. Can't wait to see what the future holds at The Marquee.

If you want to live in a place that is unsave, trashy, and the staff is rude to you? Then this is the place for you. The "security" at night makes sure the back on their eye lids are safely shut instead of making sure the people in the parking garage aren't smoking dope and or trying to control the volume of the parties that goes on all hours of the night 7 days a week. Also the fact that between the 5th and 7th floor are being preoccupied by nobody, but when you park in the parking spot right next to the visitors spot. Needless to say 125$ later you can get your car back from the towing company. Save your time and money! Signing the lease to this place for a whole year was the worst mistake ever. I hope this advice points you in the right direction away from here!

Ive lived at the marquee for two years now and i love it! Its so close to campus and has a shuttle stop! The staff and management are always super friendly and easy to talk to! My favorite part about living here are all the events the marquee hosts! Its such a great way to bring all the residents closer to each other!

The Marquee has been my home for the last 3 years. I have had a great experience here. I have lived in both a 4/4 and a 2/2, both times i have had random roommates, and both times, they became my closest friends. The apartments are beautiful, wood floors and nice furniture so you can decorate however you'd like! There have been a few incidents, but the company has been honest, i have seen the improvements made. There is 24 hr security, and i often see maintenance around the grounds cleaning and fixing things. Every place has it qualms, but for the affordability, the quality of the apartments and the convenience of being across the street from campus, i have enjoyed my stay at the marquee.

The maintenance and repair is quick and the staff carry themselves in a very professional even thought they have so many residents to assist I do not feel like just another number.

You get what you pay. Lived here for 2 years and moved out because they raised the rent, not worth it to pay that much money to be in an unsafe place like Marquee. This place attracts crime and horrible types of people somehow. Unhappy customers everywhere you can't please everyone but look at the amount of negative review about this place... Wow!
My roommates and I cleaned up after ourselves, not to mention one of them is clean freak. We wiped the kitchen after every time we used and scrubbed it at least once every semester. And there were still cockroaches and ants. The sink in the kitchen broke every week and the water was leaking under it. There was always a light moldy smell in the apartment.
People here race in the parking garage. I almost got hit by a car while trying to cross the drive way (I promise I looked to see if there was any car coming). A guy ran into my car's back bumper because he was on the phone...
Talking about the garage, can't complain that there was no space because it is the same with other places. But urine, trash appear, broken door knobs every corner. Occasionally every week you gonna see half eaten pizza or cups of coke on your way to your car.
The elevator smells and it SHAKES real hard!!!!
There were some guys banged on our door and tried to break in. We call the security constantly until they were gone and of course no one picked up the phone. The manager said it was a misunderstanding and did not give us a satisfactory result. No way they mistook their own apartment and sat in front of our door for almost 40 minutes without realizing it. And it was 8AM, they looked pretty sober and dressed nicely to me ... Same thing happened to my friend at Marquee and she lived alone, and the same to the apartment across us a couple months after that happened. They gave us the phone number of the security but it was the number of the office. Very unprofessional.
One of my roommate and some guy friends of her broke into the other roommate's room when she was not there at around 2AM. Reported it to the office and nothing was taken seriously. They let the maintenance guy looked at it (?!!!!!) instead of the security.
Last but not least, high crime rate. The area around Marquee is very very ghetto and sketchy. There was a shooting during the time I stayed there. Fire trucks come by almost everyday (night)! And it was unnecessarily loud all the time.
Not like it's Marquee's fault 100% for everything but they could've handled it more professionally. Didn't get charge for any additional fee after we moved out. A lot of people complaining about that here, mostly it's your fault. Like I said, somehow this place attract "interesting" people. Even if the place gets better and the managers/staffs work more efficiently, still moving out because of the unsafe environment.

Just wrote a 3 page review and it got cancelled so im going to try and make this one a little shorter. Anyway DO NOT LIVE AT STERLING CENTRAL I IMPLORE YOU. I have lived in 3 different student housing communities and that one was BY FAR the worst. Things you can expect at sterling central include but are not limited to: horribly rude, unhelpful, and smug staff(be aware this is not the same staff that will happily and cheerfully welcome you when you move in), lots of mayhem(my car window and many others were kicked in just for fun, no valuables in car were touched) police kicking your door in and pointing guns in your face and those of your guests and parading you all out in the hallway in your boxers only to be embarrassed and then leave saying nothing (because sterling sent them to the wrong apartment), sterling leaving a 3 day eviction notice on your door because your rent is one day late, prison style hallways, 3 hour drive uphill to your parking spot over 1000 speed bumps everyday, debt collectors after you and your roomates for damages caused by police breaking your door in and probably other bs they've managed to come up with. (even if you have them tell you you are 100% good to go before you leave and turn in your keys) If anything better make sure you get that in writing signed by the property manager and even then the snakes a sterling central probably won't honor it. Just do yourself a favor a live ANYWHERE but Sterling Central because i promise it's gonna be your worst year of college if you do.

We were in Orlando yesterday to select an apartment for my daughter, as she begins the Fall semester at University of Central Florida. We had been to several other apartment complexes in the morning and nothing had really just had the right feeling. Then we decided to swing into The Marquee Orlando and were immediately greeted by Michelle. We instantly had a connection. She was extremely pleasant and excited about her job and assisting new residents. She gave us her full attention and was extremely knowledgeable. She showed us the room, and we were sold. She explained the difference in all the room types and prices. She was extremely sweet and personable. We signed the lease and have never felt more sure about our decision.
Absolutely 5 stars out of five!!! Cannot wait for August 16th and the new year!

The location is great, the service is a lot better now that management has changed. Whenever I need help the staff is there, picking up packages is a very smooth process, and if I ever get locked out, someone is usually there to help me. Overall pleasant experience!

Before moving to the Marquee I read the reviews and told myself I will never live here. After apartment searching I realized was financially stuck at the Marquee. I reluctantly signed the lease. The first month was terrible my roommates were literal druggies. They smoked and loved drama. I contacted the office and they spoke to me; however, I did not get to switch my apartment for free. After paying to switch my apartment I no longer experienced that problem. If you are going to live here make sure you request any level above the second floor. My new apartment is on the fourth floor and I am willing to sublease it. My roommates now are the complete opposite of my initial apartment. They are nice and don't cause drama.
Room for rent at the Marquee.
Summer term only from June 2016 to July 2016. Looking for a sublease, I have nice roommates and the apartment is quiet. Only $479 a month, located less than a mile away from UCF with a shuttle that runs everyday. Serious inquiries only. Email me

I lived here. I had my room broken into and my door was LOCKED. They did not do anything. They wouldn't even at least give me half of my money back for the things that were stolen.(brand new MAC laptop, my clothes were destroyed, makeup destroyed) I was willing to work with them at least but they won't work with you. They don't care. There's breakins and they don't use the roommate match sheets. They just put you with anybody. I had a roommate who was on drugs and they did NOTHING. Do NOT live here because you will NOT be safe here. The walls are very thin and like I said if something were to happen they would not reimburse your money.

I've never written a negative review in my life, but honestly this was the worst living experience of my life and I do not want you to experience the same. The only thing positive about the place is its location relevant to school, but even with that it was dangerous to live there.
Here's a sample of events that have taken place while I lived there:
1. My car was broken into and had $300 in damage.
2. The "security" gate for the garage was broken for over 3 months.
3. All the fire extinguishers, safety lights, lights, etc. in my hallway were broken or missing all year.
4. At least 3 treadmills did not work all year.
5. I was wrongly charged late fees because they allocated my check for rent to someone else's account. (It was fixed after much wasted time and hassle)
6. There was blood, broken glass, a destroyed security camera, broken fire safe glass in the elevator all year (was not cleaned and equipment not replaced.)
7. Overflowing trash into the hallways at least every other week where their garbage chutes are.
8. Both doors to my hallway were broken for over 7 months.
9. All of these events and damages were "not our responsibility" according to the Sterling staff. They said contact the corporate office when I showed them the specific details in the contract that stated the amenities, garbage areas, fire extinguishers, etc. were to be fixed in a timely manner.
10. After I moved out they tried to charge my roommates and I over $180 for "painting the porch's ground" (porch is about 2.5 feet by 8 feet) and "replacement of a blind fixture" (one that covers a single door). We had walkthroughs that stated these were in fact not damaged and therefore not liable for charges because we had signed documentation. This didn't matter to the staff and they told us to write them an email.
I would continue with everything that has happened but I believe you get the general experience of living at this establishment.
DO NOT LIVE HERE IT IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU WILL MAKE.
Avoid the rude staff, extra money lost, and hassle, live somewhere else.

It's a good deal- utilities all included, helpful and friendly staff, amenities, and community events. The residents are questionable, though. Loud screaming and yelling pretty often, distant noises of intercourse. What's in their control is decent. Read the rental agreement and you'll be fine. They haven't scammed me.

Staff is completely disgusting, all the way up to corporate level. Last year I moved here and the place was dirty, they cleaned it and things were just ok. Renewed this school year to the "nicer" building. The unit has fleas and everyone in my apartment got bitten and the bites left scars. We had to deal with it for about 4 days after the staff was notified. It wasn't important enough for the staff to get us another unit for those days. According to them, the units were all occupied despite what the website stated. Although magically some units were vacant a week later when I overheard the staff talking to another resident. So not only are they liars but they're bad liars. Security gates for parking garages were not being used. I guess the property manager wanted to wait until someone got raped before deciding the security was needed. They sent an email about reporting broken locks on some entry doors so they could fix them . . . They were reported and still broken. And how is it possible that even today, an entry door isn't locked. Not even closed but they don't know about it?? The management sucks ass and doesn't care at all for the students well being. It's sad. Being on the news so often doesn't bother them at all.

Parents beware, both my daughters lived at Sterling while attending UCF. When my first daughter moved in it looked beautiful and we were very happy. Three years later I can tell you that the place has gone down hill. Hallways and elevators dirty and smelly. My daughter's room had a leak in the roof that grew black stains on the wall and was never cleaned after being reported. I personally moved my second daughter out and cleaned and scrubbed that bathroom and room and left it in very good condition, that was one of the reasons she didn't drive back to Orlando to do the walk through with them, we were confident that there were no damages. Now 6 months later I get a call from a collection agency telling me I owe 130 dollars for "general cleaning", and instead of sending the bill to my home address or call me on the same phone number they had used on numerous occasions to promote their deals, they sent the bill to the Sterling address (which my daughter had no reason to forward because all important mail came home) and then to their collection agency. I paid it but feel ripped off. Must be nice to charge whatever you want (4 girls to an apt, guess they must pay their cleaning help well, $520 an apt), well I hope for the sake of the kids still living there, they use the money to clean up the common areas and take better care of the complex.

I just moved and boy do I regret ever living at the marquee. First let me tell you what my experience living here was, I constantly heard noise from the outside pool area, my roommates, the person upstairs! It was horrible. My roommate had her boyfriend basically living with her and they were always home so that made me uncomfortable! There is always trash in the hallways! Which isn t cleaned for weeks and sometimes months! There is a huge trash container that just sits in the parking lot of level one so whoever comes to visit you will see other peoples trash. (Which over flows and trash ends up on the floor) the elevators go out constantly and won t be fixed until almost a week later. Which sucks when you live on the first floor but there is NEVER parking on the first floor. The management team is quite rude and tries to charge you for EVERYTHING (so make sure you take lots of pictures and keep documents!). The property manager is constantly outside smoking cigarettes instead of tending to her her residents. This place charges too much for a dirty property that is not maintained well. Please do your research and read your reviews before signing a lease with this property.

The reviews of the Marquee online said that the place is 1.9 stars. Well after living here for 2 weeks I can tell you that those reviews are BS. The place is in a convenient location, the amenities are great and the staff are awesome people. I give the place 4 starts because I asked for a non smoking roomate, but hes chill so its ok. Shoutout to my asthma.

I have been trying all day to get a hold of someone there, and when they do answer the phone, they keep hanging up immediately without even saying hello or they don't answer at all, and the phone just rings off the hook. I finally got a hold of the leasing manager Tatiana, and she seemed to be the only one that has a clue. She said to call back after I was done with the paperwork, but I have been trying for over an hour this round, and still nobody is answering the phone. What gives?

I think living here is what you make of it... Compared to all the surrounding student complexes, Sterling takes the cake. The location is perfect for students to get to campus, and it is surrounded by so many restaurants and shopping. The amenities Sterling offers are above and beyond what any other complex offers. The staff is very friendly and do a great job when you consider how many residents they deal with every single day.
People give this place a bad rep but it is all what you make of it. I like living here, I've never had any issues that the staff hasn't addressed for me. You are going to experience issues at any complex you reside, but they try their hardest to make sure everyone gets taken care of. The events they throw are cool too, who doesn't like free food? Broke college students definitely don't hate living here when the leasing office is giving out free pizza. I like it here, you will too if you have a positive bone in your body.

Parents, please don t let your kids move in this place. The parking is dangerous, the management lies to parents about not charging late fees during Covid. If I only knew just how bad this apartment complex was , their management and safety I would never pick this place. Please don t let your children move in here. Bad place, unethical management and unsafe.
