If you haven't spent much time with the County Library system, or if it's been a while since you have visited a branch, it's well worth checking out! They have very friendly and helpful librarians and there are almost always open places to read or study, even when the place is fairly busy. They also have a wide range of free programs, from guest speakers to activities for children.

I'm not From St. Louis but I figured it's a big city so it's going to have big everything to it. I was wrong ...this library is small & it's ghetto to me . They have little choices of books to choose from . I can never get on the computer to search or look up any books because everyone is always on the computer as if they don't have any internet access at their home or something ... So annoying.
So I just have to look around and glimpse .
Only reason why I gave it a 3 star is because the books that I have read are pretty decent books .

Went in there to get a visitor pass and had to sit there and wait for also 30 minutes. 1 staff person was at the desk with a customer and did not bother to get assistance for me. Just did not care at all.

Unbelievably helpful, smart and inspired people! Love it here. It was five star service, as if they were making a big commission. Only it s a library. Love it!

Helped with checking library card status.
Helped with e-book downloads.
Found a book we needed and reserved it online for us.
Called the other library that had it to put it on hold so we can drive over there to get it this evening.
Helped get a replacement library card and help set it up.
Wonderful wonderful wonderful!

I m so not easy to please.

I've never been there but it is there for people. Stop hating. If you want to get on the computer, make an appointment. Yeah people go the library to use the internet, not every one has it at home. Be thankful for your library, they will all be gone soon.

I need libraries like I need air but this one stinks. We've been coming to this location for the last few months while Kirkwood's children's library is under construction. There's very minimal things for the kids to do in the "children's area" but we make it work. EVERY week when we check out our books, the system doesn't register that they were all checked out and we are beeped and stopped. Every. Single. Time. The staff is always rude about it like I was trying to sneak out with books though I have a receipt that shows I checked them all out. It's infuriating. It wouldn't be an issue if it happened once. Or if the staff treated you better about it. Today we came in as soon as it opened and they had art set out for the kids to play with. The kids were using dotting tools and were making a soft banging noise - a librarian came over and told them to stop because there were people in the library trying to concentrate. He didn't speak to me who was standing right there, he spoke to my 2 year old. There were maybe a handful of people in the library as it had JUST opened. Why have something out that makes "too much noise"? Again, if they were nice about it maybe I would feel differently.

They regularly have writers come and speak about their latest book. Always top notch writers. Lasts about an hour, their books are available for purchase and you can get them autographed after. Very interesting subjects.
