The reason I give this hotel a 3 and no more are f...

The reason I give this hotel a 3 and no more are for two reasons. The parking lot is 24 a day. That is about $35 Canadian. The other reason is that the doors on the bathrooms are swinging frosted glass doors that don't latch. There is a HUGE sliding door in the room to block off the bathroom. But over course it blocks off the front door as well. It is just a stupid gimmick to make them look more posh. It doesn't work. Other than that the hotel is nice and the shuttle to the airport is great.

The four of us stayed at this hotel on a trip to Amsterdam and everyone decided to do it once and NEVER AGAIN !!

About the staff:

Since I have already peddled in many hotels professionally, I was used to a certain way of dealing with hotels, but I had never experienced anything like this in this hotel before! The most unfriendly hotel staff ever, you are not greeted at check-in and you have to have everything ready in your hand as the ladies at the reception are pulling long and annoyed faces. There are no tips or recommendations from the front desk as, as I said, everyone was annoyed and unfriendly.

For hotel advertising:

CAUTION!! All German-speaking visitors to the hotel website are offered a shuttle for the city center for 8.50 - THIS DOESN'T EXIST - However, if the website is switched to English or Dutch, this offer is no longer available! In my opinion, an attempt to attract German tourists! When asked at the front desk, there was only one annoyed: "ITS WRONG".
This was one of the decisive factors to book this hotel! So you are forced to either travel to the city center publicly for almost an hour or take one of the overpriced taxis to the city center (50 from the hotel to the city)

Spa area:

In the whole spa area no employee can be found, so people with shoes and clothing go to the pool to test the water temperature, which incidentally was very cool in a "heated indoor pool". The hygiene in the whole spa area is very cool Left to be desired with half of the existing showers only the cold water was not so practical in January.

Hotel room:
The cleanliness for four stars a cheek! Blood stains on a towel and on the ceiling, the motto is where you don't look, you don't clean it. The remote control first had to be fished out by rummaging around between dust mice under the bed.

Since so many things were negative, we didn't dare to test the restaurant.

In any case, we will never consider this hotel again.

Apparently there are two room categories or not all rooms have been renovated.
I had an older room with a sagging bed. Nevertheless, the room was clean.

The lady at the front desk seemed very unfriendly on arrival. Parking costs 25 per day.
I hardly noticed the adjacent airport.

Very unprofissional. Reception lady confirmed that i have exexutive room which is breakfast and mini bar included. I went to breakfast to find them telling me NO breakfast is not included. I went to reception lady said that her friend gave me wrong info. All that happened in a way as if i was trying to steal breakfast.

The deal was good, the facilities super good, clean. Incredible beds, super comfortable. It has spa, swimming pool among other things. The only bad thing was the restaurant that the food was not very good and it is separated from the city.

Spent a few days here on a business trip recently and I couldn't fault it. Friendly.staff, very quite and clean hotel and a feee shuttle to the airport. The sport media bar is also very reasonable for food

This hotel was a total disappointment. No customer service at all. The airport shuttle from the airport pulled away from the stop earlier than scheduled even after the driver saw me coming and waving. When I tried to get the shuttle to the airport there were too many people so we had to wait another 30 minutes for the next one. The staff don't care at all.

Really comfortable beds and pillows and all-round comfortable stay. Unfortunately you need a shuttle bus (free) to get there so it's a little inconvenient at times and sometimes they're full and you have to wait 20 minutes for the next one.

That was the worst performance in a long, long tim...

That was the worst performance in a long, long time.

First of all ... a shuttle service that only starts 2 hours after the airport has started operations (first flight) is almost laughable and provincial for an alleged Steigenberger Airport Hotel.

The other way around ... to catch one of the first KLM flights (mine at 06:55), you easily pay another 30 euros for a taxi on top. An impudence. I haven't seen it like this before, and certainly not in this hotel class.

As I said, provincial hotel.

But that also corresponds to the rest of the performance.

Swapped the room 3 times until it finally worked.

The first room greeted me with old dishes in front of the door.
The room itself had more of the charm of an office, including non-opaque blinds (the room was simply impossible to get dark) instead of passages and a worn bathroom.

I left the second room immediately (single beds instead of a double bed, as booked and confirmed).

The third room finally had curtains, a double bed and an attractive bathroom (with an empty shower gel holder), ... and the charm of my 80s youth room (ash, anthracite veneer).

I can confirm the sagging mattresses criticized by other reviewers. Sometimes you roll from the middle of the bed (double bed) to one side.

None of the 3 rooms were CLEAN. The layer of dust on the blinds in the first room was actually remarkable.

In the last room in the bathroom there was old hair and tobacco crumbs on the coffee table.

I was once in a Steigenberger in Egypt (and sometimes similarly horrified). At some point it came out that they only buy the name there from Steigenberger, but in Prinziep it has nothing to do with a real Steigenberger.

Seems to be the same here.

The staff in general was polite and arrogant. Sometimes they accidentally smiled. It was probably more malicious glee.

The actual (and only) highlight was the steak (200gr, 21 including side dishes) in the sports bar.
This was of a really outstanding quality and perfectly grilled, at a great price / performance ratio. The puddle of wine in the glass for 5.85 unfortunately almost neutralized the positive impression.

Conclusion: to eat in the sports bar and then sleep somewhere else.

Kindly received at the reception. While we checked in, my friend got some free lemon water from the lobby, which was very nice with this warm weather. The hotel room looked neat and we slept wonderfully on the soft mattresses. The free shuttle picked us up from Schiphol airport (where we came by train) and also dropped us off nicely the next day. The hotel was everything you would expect from a hotel. Good service, friendly staff and a nice hotel room with bathroom. All in all great!

Cleanliness poor. The hotel corridor could be sucked. The bedding had something like mold stains. At the desk, the door was open because the hinge was broken. I expected better things at Steigenberger. Sorry

Splendid... Had a pleasant stay in this hotel. 10 mins drive from Schipol Airport & Free Airport shuttle for every 30 mins. Cozy Room,Comfortable Bed, clean Bathroom and friendly staff. I Strongly recommend for the tourists to have pleasant stay.

The room itself was acceptable.
However, cleaning should be improved.
When we arrived, the gentleman at the front desk made me feel like he didn't want to take in guests during that time!

The people stood outside in the cold because they had only just arrived and rang the doorbell, he stood there and continued to work with his computer!

But the next day, Ms. Schmidt (if I may name her) was at the reception and was very happy to welcome the guests and was always there for questions and suggestions. A big thank you to Ms. Schmidt.

Fantastic hotel with great amenities, nice comfortable rooms, and reasonable fare. However, I booked the room for two nights and indicated I'd be coming in on a redeye the second morning, but they gave away my hotel the night before. Came to the hotel at 7am expecting to have my room for a quick and was told it was gone and I could wait in the lobby for 5 hours. Nice hotel, but as Jerry Seinfeld once said, it's the holding of the reservation that's the most important.

Seated outside with 12 colleagues in a 1.5mtr Corona setup. It went well and the service was pleasant.
But ... 5.50 for a Heineken 0.0 ..... that is simply too much to ask. So I will no longer sit there for fun.
