Had a wonderful experience today! Rebecca Redden helped us through the process of potential getting our first Mazda. We asked a lot of questions and she was able to answer them all with no transparency. We gave her our budget and she worked hard to get us everything we wanted as well as a good deal! Was able to take our time with a test drive with every vehicle we were interested in. Nothing was rushed, pushed or forced which is the best thing a dealership could do. I truly recommend going to Steele Mazda to explore some great vehicles as well as some exceptional service. The people are energetic and with a beautiful building to welcome you!
Dropped by to look at purchasing a SUV after approx 10 minutes of looking at Cars no one in Showroom acknowledged my presence. Thanks for helping me make my decision)
Went there for oil change and because my key fob battery was low they suggested to change it for me, however, before changing it I asked them if I can change it myself and what kind of model coin battery the key fob use. Then that lady told me they use special battery which can only purchase from Mazda. In the end, I found out that lady straight up lied to me and charged me $15 bucks for the battery change where I can buy 2 for $7 at superstore.
I understand that they need to earn money, but straight up lying to customers is a disgusting service.
I purchased a sedan from Steele Mazda. The staff I dealt with were absolutely great People and their price Is the best in Canada. If you ever have any issues ,you can count on them to assist and stand by their commitments. I wouldn t hesitate to recommend them to my family and friends!
I literally felt dirty after buying my car. They used all of the tricks in the book and I ended up getting roped into a bad deal. Then I never heard from anyone again - and I had even asked about adding accessories once they became available. Totally different experience when I bought from Toyota down the street (they were so great we used to bring them Christmas treats every year).
I went to Steele Mazda Dartmouth with one of my friends' recommendation. I was very well treated. I used to drive an SUV but due to the increasing gas prices and expensive car payments I decided to downsize. Never thought I would get a Mazda 3 but after I test drove the car, I really liked all the futures and how it drove. (I like driving a stick so your options are really limited). Plus, it was very affordable with very low interest rates. Sheila was amazing and took care of me well. What I was most impressed was that she actually listened what really wanted rather than a sales pitch like most other dealers do. If you are considering Mazda, go to Dartmouth Mazda and see Sheila. You are actually going to be treated like a human being and get the most reasonable deal. Never thought I would drive a Mazda but now I am a fan.
Do not use Steele Mazda for any service. Worst service ever! They are rip off artists! We used them to do the 2 year Nova Scotia vehicle inspection for my 2016 Mazda CX-5 GT and they said I needed new brakes and rotors for a vehicle with only 22,000 kms. My wife was the one that took the SUV in and just had the work done. I spoke to a brake specialist at Speedy and they said there is no way a new vehicle like that would need new rotors and brakes. I complained to the service manager, a woman and she said she would check with the mechanic who was away for a while. She never got back to me. I kept calling and she kept promising to return my call. Steele Mazda service department is a rip off shop. They apparently prey on women or anyone they think are vulnerable to their rip off tactics.
Steele Mazda is a great place. friendly staff, efficient service. Service advisor Adrianna is amazing and very good at her job. I love this place and strongly recommend it to all my friends and family and to anyone else
The staff is really friendly and helpful, there is coffee, tea and hot chocolate available for waiting customers and free wi-fi. I've never had a bad experience here yet and have visited multiple times.
Rebecca is amazing!!! I've never liked somebody who was selling me something so much. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and was able to meet my needs without going over my budget. She found practical solutions to my minor issues with my new purchase that didn't break the bank(like recommending an after market satellite radio instead of a much more expensive model). She exceeded my expectations from start to finish and made me feel at ease and confident with my new CX5. Thank you Rebecca and thank you Steele Mazda! Try the popcorn, you won't regret it!
I had a great experience dealing with Sheila over the course of a month or so. She was very friendly & helpful, without being pushy. I never felt pressured and I feel confident I could have negotiated a fair price with Sheila, had we ended up going the mazda route (ultimately we went with a different brand of car). I would definitely deal with Sheila again.
Sales people are very nice (of course) but are not worried about your own interests. Was out shopping for a used car and they tried the ol' bait and switch on me. "The same payments will get you in a new car!." They worked the numbers to appear that it was pretty much the same thing to get into a new car. They are good at what they do. Anyway, it didn't work and they ended up losing the sale on the used car that I was going in for. City Mazda got my business and they were much more up front and honest and no bull. As others reviewers mentioned, the Steele team have lots of tricks up their sleeves it seems.
went in to buy a new mazda 3, they told me the 2017s weren't out yet .... in order for them to clear out 2016 . it was a lie. I ended up with a 2017 elsewhere for the price of the 2016 they quoted me.
Customer Service at its finest! This isn't my usual dealership. I took my hunnies SUV in for service on his behalf. There was a little mishap with the online booking a double appointment time but the ladies were wonderful and fit me in regardless. Rayleen and Krista were so pleasant. They even provided snacks and juice while you wait for the shuttle. The shuttle driver also was absolutely lovely. It's so amazing to see such impeccable customer service!!!! I usually have my SUV serviced at Dartmouth Dodge. After this experience with at Mazda, I'm switching to this service center. It's so worth it for friendly staff! Thanks Steele Mazda.

I was recently shopping for a new vehicle and went to Steele Mazda in Dartmouth to check out what they had to offer. I met with Rebecca Redden, who instantly made me feel comfortable and helped walk me through the options, prices, offers, etc. Never once did I feel pressured and her sole objective was to find something that worked for me, listening to my needs and attempting to meet all of them. Service department is fine. Finance department made buying a used car a traumatizing experience. They completely swindled me (a single woman) by performing and CHARGING me for services without my consent, consultation or approval. They told me when I showed up to buy the car, which then put me way over my budget. Very greasy, misogynistic attitude and sales-tactics from the finance guy - Craig Morrison - and I did tell him so to his face. Intending to contact the BBB, but it's taken me months to recover from the experience enough to even be able to leave a review.

I just wanted to leave a warning /review . To NEVER buy a car from Steele Mazda. They will get you to agree to terms and conditions especially if your trading in . Get you to sign and purchase a car and then change everything after it s all signed a 5000+ tax trade in will End up 4500 . If you then find out there s a huge chip in the windshield they will fix it BUT they will take it to a place that will damage the inside of your car . Who you will then have to raise your voice and fight to get that replaced . And once you realize the new windshield they put in after you ve dealt with all the hassle and stress is scratched to bloody hell . And you will then have to fight to get that fixed as well . Needles to stay if you don t want a very stressful encounter and you don t want to be scammed and ripped off and be highly Stressed I would avoid this dealership

The service department at Steele Mazda did in 3 hours what City Mazda couldn't do in an entire week. I had a very negative experience with City Mazda (on the Halifax side) which left me without a car for 5 days - they could not tell me what was going on with my car and in the end they refused my Warranty work and cancelled my appointment on me with no explanation. Without even knowing of my experience and with little notice - Steele Mazda was able to take my car in, diagnose the situation, explain to me what needed to be done AND even put me in a rental all on the same day. It is now day 2 of them having my car and they have already provided me with an update so I know exactly whats going on. Having a car is stressful and at times scary when you are given the runaround, but knowing that Steele Mazda is there for me takes all of the stress away. Thank you for being so awesome!!
I have always received the best service at Mazda Dartmouth. Everyone is very professional and my service appointments are on time with minimal wait. My car is usually washed which is a great bonus. I want to thank the team for their amazing customer service and always making me feel like a valued customer. I recently purchased a CX-3 from Mike Hurd at Steele Mazda. Mike was very knowledgeable about the vehicle. He answered all of my question, and continued to do so even after I drove off the lot. He took the time to show me all the features of the car and all my options. My shopping experience was very enjoyable with both Mike and the rest of the team at Steele Mazda, I never felt pressured or rushed to make a decision . I would recommend them to anyone!
I had an awful sales experience at Steele Mazda, that made me second guess and ultimately miss out on a great vehicle. I went in for a specific used vehicle, which the sales agent Rebecca had said was available. After my test drive, I was informed that the vehicle had already been claimed by someone who had called in that morning, and she had been unaware. I was placed second in line, which is about how I was treated the whole time.
I attempted to negotiate, as you do when making a car purchase, and Rebecca was incredibly abrasive, acting as if I was in the wrong for negotiating. Despite my excellent credit and car loan history, I was offered an abysmal interest rate. I was attempting to finance just $9000 over 24 months with the remaining $5000 as a down payment, and their standard rate was 9% interest! To make the deal more reasonable, I suggested adding in an undercoating or tires, and I was met with a snappy No. We can t do that. When I mentioned my significantly lower past interest rates, she quipped That s impossible, not going to happen and mentioned times have changed, loans are not what they were five years ago. Not true.
I really wanted the vehicle, as it was quite special and a fair price, so I decided to put up with the interest rate. When asked about getting my mechanic to look over the car, I was told they have no vehicle return policy. Almost every dealership I ve dealt with will allow you to take a vehicle back within seven days if it doesn t meet expectations. I couldn t get it in to be looked at same day, so I would ve missed out on the car anyway. I was told I could submit my financial information, in case this phone in buyer fell through, but Rebecca came back to me stating that it s probably not worth it since I don t seem serious about buying the car. I guess trying to negotiate a large purchase makes me not serious? Does she expect someone to walk in and say Perfect I ll pay sticker and please give me the highest interest rate possible ? I insisted on submitting my application, but was then told the finance manager was out on a delivery for at least the next 45 minutes and it wasn t worth waiting.
The whole time I was treated like they didn t want to sell the car to me. I was constantly told that there were interested buyers across the country. When I suggested it would be easier to sell it locally, in person, I was told No. A sale is a sale. I would ve bought the car, had I been treated better, and if they didn t waste my time by not knowing there was already an offer in. Very strange experience, and I ve heard awful things from friends that dealt with this dealership too. It s a shame they had such an interesting car on their lot. I ve bought from O regans in the past with no issues and a pleasant buying experience. If you re looking for a Mazda go to City.

We have been customers of Steele Mazda since 2007 and the service department customer service has been going downhill for the past couple of years. We have purchased 4 Mazda's from Steele and we bring them for all service related issues. Not sure if we will continue to do so unless things change.
Recently purchased a used CX5 that I'm very happy with. I worked with Rebecca in sales and Sheila in finance. Having got that "I need a shower" feeling from other dealerships, Mazda was like fresh air. Even when we disagreed (and we did at times), they were impassioned but always professional, never rude.
Very happy with my experience and I suspect I will be back at some point.

Not impressed with the service department book a appointment on line to have my wiper motor replaced do to recall and received a call the next explaining that it would have to be ordered I told her I would like to keep the appointment because I need my front end check it was making alot a noise she told me I was unable to keep it due to short staff issues. I booked another apartment on line for Monday at 330 pm and took time off work to go when I get there I see a sign on the door saying closed no power funny thing is ever other business around there had power.I never received a call of email saying that my appointment was canceled. Completely wasted my time.I'm now going to have take more time off because my car still hasn't been look at and isn't fixed.

I just had my Hyundai serviced at Steele Mazda, super friendly staff!! Adrianna made the point of letting me know what was up with my car at each point, what needed to be looked at immediately and what could wait. Great service and their shuttle took me to Halifax!
Good sales team, BUT the service team are terrible, the windshield wipers were getting frozen and wouldn't stay on the window, they keep the car inside before trying it and can't find anything wrong with it, a trim on a fender broke off, get it replaced and we pick up the car and half the trim isn't even clipped in and is sticking out an inch, zero quality control. A piece of bumper was also damaged which was missed and we had take take it back again, then bubbles in the chrome on the front, back again. They repaired a tire, not done properly at all, the repair wasn't sealed probably on the inside or grinded down and let go after a few weeks, safety of their customers obviously of no concern.
First and foremost; I love Mazda vehicles. So it was not a hard choice for me to choose a dealership to go to. This location was the closest as well as the most convenient. Being located just off Mount Hope Avenue in Dartmouth makes for a quick commute as it's only a minute off the number 111 highway. I'm not a huge fan of shopping in a location that runs on commissions. It typically comes with the stigma most know and understand these days; pushy sales-people that try to confuse or rush you into the most expensive product they can get you to buy. So I'm happy to say that my initial fear when walking into Steele Mazda was quickly washed away. For me, I want to enjoy the experience of buying a new car. The exhilaration of getting that shiny new thing you've always wanted. But to get past that initial feeling of uneasiness, someone was going to have to act fast to keep me in the building. It took less than a minute for one of their Sales Consultants; Sheila MacAskill, to approach me with a warm smile. I more or less knew what I wanted, so going through options and packages was not a long drawn out process. Nevertheless, Sheila understood her products well and was able to arrange a couple different options that would give me more freedom of choice. Throughout this whole process, I did not feel rushed or pressured. There was no dread of the coming up-sell or push to a higher package. Sheila poised the sale in front of me at a respectable price point where it had what I wanted, and responded with options for anything that would actually be quite useful (I'm looking at you winter tire package). After a bottle of water and a few good laughs, she introduced me to her Financial Services Manager, Ashley Kelly. Ashley was lovely to deal with, very bright and the whole way through made the process of financing a new vehicle easy to understand as well as realistic. She stood behind Sheila strongly while flexing her own skills to get a fantastic deal. The whole process was smooth, relaxed, enjoying. I felt calm and there was no confusion on what was being presented. Both of these amazing people were a genuine joy to talk to. Ultimately, I did not end up taking the deal, BUT THIS WAS NO FAULT ON THEIR PART. They smiled as I shook their hands and I thanked them for what has been the best team of retail sales-people I've dealt with in my life. Sheila, Ashley, I will be back and THANK YOU AGAIN!
This 5star rating is for Brady (If I remember correctly), and elderly gentleman and the spare parts manager. He helped me fix a plastic fender by fixing with a clip while others told me that I had to replace both bumper and fender.

My wife and I had a good experience overall buying a van. Being our first time buying a vehicle from a dealer, things are bound to be somewhat intimidating. Sheila was great - very friendly and helpful. We had to wait for them to change a tire before our purchase, and they paid for our lunch during the wait. The only thing we didn't like was the pressure to add certain unnecessary extras to the purchase.
Appointment was made one month in advance. Arrived on time, was greeted immediately, car was sanitized. Work took just a little over an hour. I was asked if I would like and oil change while there...I declined. Payment process was easy and I was on my way.
Did a good job however made appointment for 9:30 and at 10:10 car was still in the drive in bay ended up taking an hour and half for a oil change which realistically was under 45 minutes.
This is my first purchase of what I believe to be many more from Steele Mazda.
From the moment I called to the moment I walked out of there with my new car, the service was amazing! The entire team was a delight. I felt comfortable,it wasn't stuffy at all. I felt like I knew these people forever.
I highly recommend buying from them. They got me a great deal and a car that City Mazda told me was impossible to find. Shelia, Graham, Dana and Craig made it happen! Even after the purchase when I had questions Shelia took all of my calls and helped me through the tech stuff.
Short story, if you want a comfortable no pressure and honest buying experience go to Steele and talk to Shelia. When something wasn't possible she didn't sugarcoat it or make up excuses. She was upfront and honest!

Unhappy with my vehicle and the service Ive received here. My car failed its first MVI, and they will not cover the cost of worked required ( two parts needing replacing, 900$) due to my warranty ending 1 week ago. My new car should not require this work, regardless of the warranty. I have already needed to have two other parts replaced since purchasing it brand new. Unacceptable.
Recently financed a used 2019 Mazda CX-5 from Steele Mazda. Absolutely the best dealership experience I ve had in HRM. I was shopping around between multiple brands and the customer service here won me over above all the rest. Between Colin handling the sales and Sheila handling the financing, I could not have been kept more up to date through the buying process. As an added bonus, once everything was over, Colin himself noted that there were paints chips that he had not noticed before handing me the keys and wanted to have it all touched up (this gave me a good sense of his honesty and accountability in this situation). One appointment a week later and I couldn t be happier with the vehicle and service so far. I look forward to a long relationship with Steele Mazda going forward.

Have always been skeptical about buying from a dealer but needed to update our 2003 Subaru and heard so many good things about Sheila MacAskill that we contacted Steele Mazda about a used late-model Subaru. Sheila emailed back quickly and, when the original Subaru we were looking at sold before we could get in, brought another one from another Steele dealer that was even better for us (lower mileage, more features) than the first one. Sheila's the real deal, providing informative care and solid support rather than the self-interested pressure one sometimes feels from salespeople. Follow-up really tells the tale so I was kind of glad when we had a minor malfunction in the first week after buying the car. True to form, Sheila had the problem fixed right away at no charge. Service department was friendly and professional - even read my wife's mind and washed the salt-splattered car afterward! Also want to recommend Financial Services Manager Ashley Kelly for her friendly down-to-earth approach, thoroughness and patience working through the financial side of the purchase with us. Even in our minor interactions with other Steele Mazda employees, there was a feeling that this place was different from other dealerships we had been in, having more of a sense both of camaraderie among employees and affirmative engagement with customers.

The dealership is nice and most of the staff are friendly. Just make sure you go in well researched before making your decision because they have all the tricks up their sleeves. Granted, they are nice people but they aren't there to provide you a great car at the best price.

Had a couple of good experiences and one really bad one. As in my car had to be towed back to them. They kept it for a week to fix it, but they did give me a rental. Pretty bad for just getting an oil change.

I have been a client of Steele Mazda since I bought my first Mazda from their showroom in July 2012. I love the Zoom Zoom performance and the excellent fuel efficiency of my 2012 Mazda 3 GS Sport . Also, I am very satisfied with the maintenance program for my vehicle. This month I bought another new Mazda 3 GT sedan. I love the upgrades in technology (touch screen display with built in GPS, Bluetooth with on screen display of contacts, messages and play lists, well thought out driver control features, luxury features, etc. ) I opted to purchase a 4 year maintenance package and an extended warranty which gives me a full car warranty for 7 years. As well, I received 0 % financing for 84 months. I'm very happy with the pricing, the protection and the product!
