To tour the inside of the statue you must book the ticket advance but with a $19.25 ticket you can book a last minute trip to Liberty Island and Ellis Island (only at Castel Clinton!). Keep in mind that the last ferry from Liberty to Ellis is at 3:15pm. If you miss that you won't be able to see the Immigration museum.
