Very impressed with entire hotel. Service, rooms, quality throughout . We stay at high end hotels that are larger usually but SPH is exceptional. Ambience calm refined and Californian but not stuffy. Bravo

Classy ambiance, courteous staff, in classic hotel. I think other reviews call out what makes SPH special. Overall, this really is one of the best business hotels I've stayed at around Palo Alto.

But as a frequent business traveller who has cumulatively spent several weeks at this hotel over the past year, I'm going to call out areas of improvement:

* Housekeeping is extremely disorganized. During my last stay, I literally asked the front desk *six times* to tell housekeeping stop delivering the daily newspaper that I never read. Even still, they kept delivering it. And even though I opted out of housekeeping, they still came in and mucked with my room one day.

* Their courtyard needs to be quieted down by 10:00 PM. This is my big complaint with this hotel -- the #1 need of a business traveller is a good night's sleep. Guests shouldn't have to call the front desk at 10:00-11:00 PM every visit to ask them to send staff to quiet people down -- the hotel should be doing this automatically. It's a mediocre service organization waits until guests are annoyed enough to place a call.

* It would also be nice if they had a rewards program, given that they are part of a hotel chain. As someone who stays for long periods of time, it's a bit of a disincentive when their competitors do.

Beautiful hotel with a rustic lobby. Lots of charm embedded in the fine detailing and furnishing of this exquisite property- free coffee, evening tea time, snacks in the room, and fresh baked cookies are a huge plus! Water and snacks are replenished daily!

At Dinnertime I smell something very nice cooking at the Menlo Grill inside the Hotel. Fresh cut fruit is in a large ice water on the counter for everyone. The guests are happy to be here and I seen them enjoying their time snuggling in the outdoor patio, sipping wine in front of the fire. Beautiful memories for my children have been made and I'm grateful for this hotel. The pool is the kids favorite and mine is the bed and restaurant.

What a beautiful boutique hotel! Nicely designed and decorated, friendly staff and quite/relaxing atmosphere. The only downside for me was the fact that the front desk didn't seem to follow basic instruction. I asked for water only to be replaced in my room, not snacks at two different occasions and both times the snacks were also replaced. That was the only thing I found to be negative during my stay. But I will absolutely stay there again.

The hotel is beautiful, I really love the brick exterior. The standard deluxe rooms are very roomy and well appointed. I appreciate the option to choose to be green and the hotel gives a donation to the Ronald McDonald foundation. The free waters and snacks in the rooms are a very nice touch. In general I like the warm look and feel to the hotel.

Really nice place to stay! Recently remodeled and looks kind of colonial modern with exposed brick, rich woods and carpets. Large comfortable rooms, outstanding staff and the Menlo Tavern is a great bar. Try the Cioppino! Also boasts a large outdoor area with tables, couches, two fire pits and an area that looks like it's for weddings.

We have stayed at the Stanford Park Hotel many times while visiting our daughter at Stanford. While their weekday rates are beyond our budget, for weekends we often find very good deals which are not much higher than the rather spartan Stanford Guest House where we often stay at as well. This is a lovely hotel and we have always had a nice time, Luxurious rooms and facilities, nice restaurant, good low-key service, ample parking, and proximity to Palo Alto downtown.

Elegant, beautiful older hotel. Great staff. Rooms are spacious with fireplace. Plenty of amenities which I did not take advantage of. If you're into pampering yourself and a friend near Palo Alto, this would be a great place to go.

I was staying for a couple of nights during a business trip. The room was very specious and clean although a little bit old-fashioned. The service was perfect and very professional. Sydney Chung was our main contact at the hotel and helped organizing with room booking, cocktails, special requests from our guests. Many thanks Sydney for your great support.

Even though I only stayed for a night, I was thoroughly impressed with the design, location, and hospitality! The staff were wonderful. The hotel was beautiful, and the room was comfortable but had a modern edge. They offered snacks and water bottles in the room, free-of-charge. In fact, I now buy a product that I tried for the first time while staying here!

when I called to confirm a simple issue, the lady who answered was rude and condescending. decided to cancel the reservation and booked hotel lucent instead, which has much more better service and nice, helpful staff. the rest of the stanford park hotel may be fine, but don't really want to take the risk.

EDIT: The director of the hotel promptly reached out to me and worked with me to make sure my next experience at this hotel is a great one. Pete followed up and explained the situation and then immediately talked about how Stanford Park Hotel could work with me to resolve the below situation. I've gone ahead and changed my review from 1 star to 5 stars for the amazing feedback and response I got from Pete, but I've left my original review below for context. I am looking forward to booking another stay at Stanford Park Hotel and I will be recommending this hotel to my coworkers and friends.

A hotel in Silicon Valley should have a baseline of basic internet access in their rooms.

This hotel did not, not only did they not have basic internet service, but their customer service from the front desk all the way to the IT service for trouble shooting the internet was downright rude. It got to the point after 3 conversations with customer service, at first, they said they were having trouble with the internet all week, and then finally it got to the point where they were asking me questions about the location of the room and started asking me why it wasn't fixed. This was frustrating as I had an urgent work project that was due the following morning which I flew to California for.

I got tired of dealing with the lack of internet and the unhelpful customer service, so I booked another hotel and ate the one night booking fee.

I get that things break and things won't always work when you need them to, but to me, I really value the approach: "ok, it's not working, how can we fix this or how can we adjust and come together to reach a mutual understanding"

However, in this case, it was more of a "it's broken. we don't really care to fix it. Why aren't you, the customer, doing more to just deal with it."

1 star, I am very disappointed in this experience especially since the hotel looked so quaint and pretty on the outside. The parts that run the hotel inside, however, are not as graceful.

Went with a group of 6 other family members. We made a reservation a couple weeks in advance. We were sat as soon as we arrived there. First started with appetizers - the tuna tar tar was insane. It's not something i would normally order but I like to try everything. It easily was my favorite thing I ate this meal. We brought a couple of wines with us. They don't charge you a corkage fee for the first couple of bottles you bring so that was a nice surprise. For dinner all of us ordered steaks. They were cooked through just to order. Desserts were amazing too. Wife loved the beignets and the cheese cake was some of the best I've had. Place was pricey, but well worth it. Service was great.

Everything was great. A little high class for me and I likely wouldn't have stayed there had I not gotten a discount. But it was worth everything I paid and easily would have been worth the original price.
