EDIT: The director of the hotel promptly reached out to me and worked with me to make sure my next experience at this hotel is a great one. Pete followed up and explained the situation and then immediately talked about how Stanford Park Hotel could work with me to resolve the below situation. I've gone ahead and changed my review from 1 star to 5 stars for the amazing feedback and response I got from Pete, but I've left my original review below for context. I am looking forward to booking another stay at Stanford Park Hotel and I will be recommending this hotel to my coworkers and friends.

A hotel in Silicon Valley should have a baseline of basic internet access in their rooms.

This hotel did not, not only did they not have basic internet service, but their customer service from the front desk all the way to the IT service for trouble shooting the internet was downright rude. It got to the point after 3 conversations with customer service, at first, they said they were having trouble with the internet all week, and then finally it got to the point where they were asking me questions about the location of the room and started asking me why it wasn't fixed. This was frustrating as I had an urgent work project that was due the following morning which I flew to California for.

I got tired of dealing with the lack of internet and the unhelpful customer service, so I booked another hotel and ate the one night booking fee.

I get that things break and things won't always work when you need them to, but to me, I really value the approach: "ok, it's not working, how can we fix this or how can we adjust and come together to reach a mutual understanding"

However, in this case, it was more of a "it's broken. we don't really care to fix it. Why aren't you, the customer, doing more to just deal with it."

1 star, I am very disappointed in this experience especially since the hotel looked so quaint and pretty on the outside. The parts that run the hotel inside, however, are not as graceful.
