Beautiful luxury hotel occupying the entire island. Well-groomed area. Large bright comfortable rooms. Peace and quiet. Friendly staff. You can take a boat to the very center of the city.

Actually only 4.5 stars because the Dutch wedding group celebrating at the same time apparently thought that they had booked the entire hotel area and behaved accordingly ... . ;-)
But the location and the service of the entire team deserve a full 5 stars

Beautiful setting on an island in the lagoon, arriving by boat from San Marco ist fabulous. Friendly staff, great swimming pool and one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had (my #1 is still Hyatt in Tokyo Roppongi). Rooms are on the small side. The whole thing feels a bit bland/run off the mill luxury hotel, perhaps they could have made more of it. Maybe ghosts of the mental asylum it once was still haunt it?

Extremely elegant place unfortunately frequented by wealthy people but lacking in aesthetic taste.
From such a soft environment I would have expected a much, much, more accurate service.
The sparkling wine and related glasses brought to the room on the evening of our arrival, as a welcome, were still present, dirty, the following afternoon as were the cups, also dirty, for coffee. I had to have the staff intervene to remedy everything described, also asking that the used coffee pods be replaced.
The choice of the room was a suite from 1000 per day !!!

The Hotel location is absolutely amazing. It is set on a beautiful private island and it is without doubt one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in.

Every view is a photo, especially sitting out on the small bar in the evening watching the lights and water from the mainland.

From the moment you arrive the staff are attentive and incredibly polite without becoming too invasive.

We upgraded our room to a suit for a very reasonable amount and it was a seriously good choice. The view from our room (258) wasn't good, facing over a court yard and without much of a waterside view but the room itself was luxurious and spacious.

Breakfast was a highlight, there was a fantastic selection and eating in the stunning courtyard was a treat. I would advise getting there early - 7.30-7.45 as it was much quieter.

Services were at a decent level. The pool was nice but mainly because it was quiet. The boat shuttle to the main land was great but be aware that coming back around lunch time can be a matter of good timing as I believe it drops to one boat per hour around 1-3pm (ish could be wrong please check the timetable!)

The gym was OK, nice and spacious and quiet with great air conditioning. There is a jogging trail around the island but it's a stretch to make it about half a mile per loop and it passes and crossed some well used paths. Better suited to walking than running.

Staff again were stand out. The reception staff particularly were amazing, this is truly a 5 star experience.

The only let downs we found - one very small issue that was annoying was that the coffee capsules in the room for the machine that was provided were not replenished. We like a coffee first thing! We did chase services for this but were never replaced. It's a very small issue but surprising really as it was fairly obvious when it was gone that we would like more!

The main problem with the hotel was the evening food. You are much better off going to the main land to eat. The fine dining restaurant - Acquerello was not good at all. The setting is beautiful outside the historic church but the food was incredibly over priced for what it wasn't cooked particularly well (IMHO). The restaurant was fairly quiet and the staff seemed a bit awkward, the tables were a bit too close together for a romantic meal. I wouldn't say it was terrible, there are just better potions at that price range in my opinion.

Great property! Fantastic rooms, pool, bar, etc. Probably one of the best hotel fitness centers I have seen in quite a while. It's a short boat ride into historic Venice, but quite scenic. Definitely a great place to stay.

Very nice hotel away from the hustle and bustle, who wants to Venefig and still looking for peace in the hotel, is right here. Free shuttle service every 30 minutes to St. Mark's Square. Spacious private island with a hotel in an old monastery. Very large quiet rooms, very motivated staff.
And: very good Wi-Fi on the whole island.

The property is beautiful and very quiet. HOWEVER, we arrived at the end of a very eventful and exhausting vacation that included five stitches and a stolen purse (2 separate incidents) to find that the hotel had been booked for an event and 2 nights of our 3 night reservation bumped to a neighboring property, something neither we nor our travel agent had heard about, despite the hotel having records of their notification being sent to the travel agency 3 months prior. Now, I understand that this is not technically the hotel's fault, HOWEVER, as the San Clemente is a property billing itself as a luxury escape from the world, with Clef d'Or concierge and a high level of service, it seems reasonable to expect that they would go beyond the bare minimum of notifying the travel agency, for instance some sort of requirement of confirmation from the agency that all clients had been notified of the change in availability.

Normally I am not so hard on hotels or service industry businesses in general, because as a barista myself I understand that sometimes things are simply outside of the control of the people across the desk from me, but I am simply baffled by the lack of follow-up or failsafe displayed in this incident. Knocking two stars off is harsher than normal for me but they hold themselves to the highest standards and so I will follow suit. My lesson is learned and my family and I will be booking hotel reservations directly with the hotels from now on. In the meantime I am certainly willing to give the San Clemente a second chance, as they did go above and beyond to find us alternate accommodations, and comped us an early dinner with drinks in their fabulous bar. Their staff are lovely and I hope to get the chance to explore their historic hotel at my leisure on a future trip.

The hotel occupies the entire territory of the island. Service is good. Beautiful seating area. Everything is well maintained and beautiful. The rooms are luxurious and have everything you need. There is a bath and shower. Very comfortable bed. It's nice that slippers are of different sizes. Heated floor in the bathroom. Perhaps from the minuses this is a heavy settlement, we were settled at 14.40 days. At the reception, the staff works well and quickly, but for some reason the room was not ready. Have a good rest and mood.

Nice hotel, a bit out of the way, but easily accessible by boat.
Great food and buffet in the morning, the staff is very friendly.
Is unfortunately rather expensive, but definitely worth the price!

Wonderful place where the aperitif, dinner, a memorable private party and brunch the next day for my cousin's wedding took place.
It was grandiose, magical, unforgettable, of great beauty, splendid , well done.

A hotel in a unique location with a splendid park and very comfortable and clean rooms. The absolutely negative side, very serious in a luxury establishment, is the quality of the service and the quality of the food in the restaurants. It is not possible to find a cold cutlet dripping with oil and meat whose fat percentage is disproportionate. The luxury is not to charge an espresso standing at the bar for 6 euros!

What to say ???? Spectacular grandiose immense beautiful and surely dear I have always been for work and I was shocked by the enormity of the place very kind staff is really very chic all maybe less carpeting would be better ...

Service is some of the worst I've ever experienced! You're better off staying at a Marriott. Everyone moves at a snail's pace! We waited 30+ min to receive a drink we ordered. Had issues with our room, and was told someone would call us with a solution, no one ever called. Way overpriced for what you get, not worth the money!!!

I've been here for a weekend some days ago, it's a great hotel (might be the best one in Venice), still there are some things the staff could work on. First the obvious pro/contra:
Pro:
- superb location
- excellent bar with great drinks
- the entrance and corridors are impressive, looks like in a movie
Contra:
- food prices (a Pizza for 22 Eur? Come on)
- breakfast (it's not bad, but I've expected a bit more)
Mentionable:
The staff is really friendly and exerted but misses experience sometimes.
To reach San Clemente from the San Marco Garage you need to pay around 80 Eur for a boat (and obviously the same after you've checked out from the hotel to reach San Marco Garage) - there is the free shuttle San Clemente <> Piazza San Marco, but I don't think it's a good idea to walk with all your luggage through whole Venice while there are so much thiefs in this city, so you are more or less forced to use a private taxi; I understand that it's not completely free, however Kempinski and the taxi company should make an agreement so hotel residents get a discount.
Furthermore you have to leave your car key in your open car at the San Marco Garage; this worked well for us (and if you look at the ratings for San Marco Garage for everyone else aswell), still I had an uncomfortable feeling as we still had a lot of luggage in our car left. A Kempinski hotel should have it's own Garage.
The food was good, but not worth the high price, while the bar was awesome.

Conclusion: This hotel is a great experience and if you visit Venice I would definitely recommend it. However, if you are used to Kempinski hotels you might be disappointed in some aspects. The prices are high so I've expected the standards I know from other hotels; I am not often in Italy though, so I might be a bit niggling. My review might sound a bit too negative, but I've really enjoyed my stay at San Clemente overall and would come again when I am in Venice. Still, I hope that some of the points I've mentioned will get reconsidered to make San Clemente to an even better place!

The San Clemente Palace Kempinski hotel, on the is...

The San Clemente Palace Kempinski hotel, on the island of San Clemente in the Venice lagoon, is undoubtedly a place of luxury, elegance and well-being, as well as a great welcome.
But the particular beauty of the site lies in two other elements: a religious building and its history as reserved as it is fascinating.
the island had been the seat - unsuspected anticipation of the Hotel Kempinski - of a very luxurious "hospital" where, in the case of pandemics, for the "quarantine", foreign dignitaries were housed before entering the city.
The original Romanesque temple of 1131, exactly three centuries later, had been restored by the will of the Venetian Pope Condulmer, with the complete reconstruction of the facade.
When the plague died out in Venice in 1630, the authorities and the nobility decided to build the church of Santa Maria della Salute (B. Longhena) on the tip of the Dogana and to embellish and expand the church of San Clemente.

Now they will have turned in their tombs because their cenotaphs, with the island, were also bought (2013) by the Turks (who, however, have meritoriously started a partial restoration of the church's frescoes). The nemesis has been fulfilled.
The temple is therefore a real work of art and of complex Renaissance architecture.

The temple also has a very original plant. Initially with a nave, it "opens" after the presbytery in order to surprisingly contain and incorporate a monumental Baroque building, a reproduction of the "Casa della Madonna" in Loreto; further on it "closes" with a large choir (and concert hall) with a frescoed ceiling in an already Baroque style.
It is astonishing and saddening to verify that the island and its works are clearly out of the tourist-cultural circuit as they are the object of little attention if not total ignorance.
One last double "secret" is almost jealously kept on the island.
Its buildings were used until the 1970s as a provincial psychiatric hospital. Ida Dalser, the first companion-wife of Benito Mussolini, was forced into those walls and died in 1937 - probably innocent.
A little paradoxically but fortunately, from a place of pain and forced segregation, the site has now become a place of pleasure and the search for refined discretion.

If you are going to Venice, I can suggest ST. Regis, Venice. It was an amazing experince. At first I really enjoyed to walk over the island. The rooms were big and I was feeling strange in a good mood with the view. The breakfast was really good and the service was great. Also the food and service of Aquarello was great and very romantic. Everbody should taste it. We stayed there 5 days and everyday we were going to centre, in half an hour there were shuttles to the center. It was not a problem to reach the shuttle. At first we hesitated what would happen if we couldn't reach last shuttle even it was late at night. They said no problem, just call us and we will come and pick you up.
I have never seen such a nice welcoming. Hope to go there once more.

Luxurious and stunning buildings and interiors, the entire island grounds, the summer and winter leave the hustle and bustle in the lovely garden and pool. No reviews required. It feels more advantageous than Kempinski in other countries (Istanbul), and it is also good for weddings. It's so popular that it's difficult to make a reservation near the room (higher?) (^^)

Exceptional setting. Our room was directly on the water with the view towards San Marco Square. Service and concierge and restaurant, all professionals and very friendly. Thank you and see you soon.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. The rooms are more along the lines of a 3/4 star. The staff is nice and seem helpful. Although if you only speak English you will have a difficult time communicating with most of them. The grounds are nice, but the price, outdated and tiny rooms, and having to take a shuttle back and forth to the main island makes this hotel definitely NOT worth it.

Also no air conditioning??? Ridiculous.

This is a beautiful hotel set on San Clemente island. At first we thought it would be difficult to get in and out of Venice, but there is a boat service every 1/2 hour to and from Venice.

We had a 9 am start for a walking tour and it would not have been possible to get there because the boats from the hotel start at 8:50. The hotel concierge was great and sorted out the hotel boat to take us in by 8. We had a lovely breakfast and joined the tour on time.

Great service and beautiful location and surprisingly convenient. Thoroughly recommended.

I stayed this Hotel at 28~29th of September 2018 with my wife. This is a beautiful hotel. The location, Dinner, breakfast and the bar is very nice.
But the room is the worst in Italy.
My business is importing Italian building material.
So, I have been Italy over 90 times from 30years ago.
And I have stayed at various hotels 3star/4star/5star/5starL in Italy.
I can confidently say the room we stayed at the first day is the worst in Italy.
Because we did not use Hot water in the bath room and the plug of the bathtub was broken.
And a refrigerator was also broken.
I found similar situation at the country area in Italy about 30 years ago.
Of course, Recently I can not find this situation.
But this time, I faced this again.
And they changed our room from Giardini Suites room to the small room of Wing rooms.
They said both rooms Giardini Suites and the small room are the same category.
Of course, we did not understand and complained them about this situation.
But they said only both rooms is the same category,,,,
so, I suggest you.
If you use restaurants and the bar, it is a good choice.
If you stay at this hotel after having Dinner, it is better you have to consider other choice.

This is definitely NOT a five star hotel with Five star service. Aside from furnishings being mismatched and outdated it was very hastily put together and opened without preparation. It took 30 minutes to receive one egg at breakfast and my husband had to order eggs Benedict 3 times without meat or fish because it came wrong. They had no bowls for cereal which we also had to ask several times. Although the young men tried to serve they obviously lack in training and only spoke German. They told us they just arrived for opening ten days ago. We politely asked if they could cancel our second night as the hotel is unprepared and not selling 5 star service as promised and were told by the highest manager he can do nothing for us except charge us even if we want to leave. Very disappointed. Lack of care of our issues is another testament of their lack of service and care for customers. Do not book this hotel if you expect more than 2 stars service.

Luxury in a clean edition. Plenty of greenery around the hotel. Few people, peace and quiet. On soft loungers, you can lie among greenery and watch the sunset directly in front of you.

Opinion as other web you can not give a comment it's only for advertisement. This hotel is the worst of the worst. Not mentioning they lost my luggage. Anything in this are most dirty business which is disgusting.

If you wish to stay in Venice and to have a calm retreat, then this is the place to be. Via regular shuttle service you can reach San Marco easily. The breakfast is delicious - especially in summer when you can sit outside it is excellent. The former monastry has nice rooms. Try to book one with a view to venice. And don t take the cheapest one because this can be a little bit small.

A place that will thrill you ... a small island in the Venetian lagoon that has been completely renovated maintaining the aesthetics of the place 10 'from Piazza San Marco. A speedboat will take you comfortably to the heart of Venice. Excellent service, beautiful rooms and a swimming pool in the park if you want to relax.

The best hotel to stay in Venice. you can go to city by boat any time and if you like to enjoy the silence you can stay at the hotel/resort and have a great time by the pool. its very peaceful with great service, great rooms and suits with delicious food all around the day. you can enjoy this great hotel with your beloved ones and its very suitable for coming as a family with kids since there are activities they can enjoy during the day while you are resting. they even have a special park for children near the pool.

Unparelled, Sumptuous experience and truly an outstanding property for those looking for an extraordinary experience away from the crowds and noise of the main areas of Venice. As with any Kempinski, the bed is superb, and here that's just the start. It was so nice to leave it all behind and sail into the sunset (on provided water shuttle) at days end. Enormous corridors, larger than average rooms with high ceilings and high quality tastefully appointed and marble bathroom with dual head shower and seperate bath. Very attentive service and exceptional grounds, choice of restaurants and of course water transfers to San Marco on a comfortable boat every 30 minutes until late in the evening. The large heated swimming pool being a key aspect, especially in want weather. Do take a moment to explore the church within a church in the grounds, with its own Frescos and decoration (although unused these days). The boutique and concierge service notably top quality and friendly too. I will be back somehow.

Absolutely amazing! Great place to stay while visiting venice. A perfect getaway from the busy city.
The food is exceptional and the staff is friendly and helpful!
It's so nice here, it's tough to leave and its equally as nice as walking around Venice.
Can't wait to stay here again!

We have been to visit this island and the garden attached to the hotel which is found there during the gardens festival. Very beautiful and full of centuries-old trees, mulberries, plane trees, roses, hydrangeas, etc. ... even the small church dating back to the 1300s is very characteristic even if it needs restoration because of the high water that regularly invades it!

Splendid
