Grand Hotel Plaza Review

Vista stupenda, inimitabile su Roma. Unica pecca il caldo torrido che per lavorare non era il massimo!!!

First review for a hotel and I am displeased enough to make such an effort. Doesn't match up to 5stars at all. Booked this hotel for a company trip and the hotel only has 1 ironing board (a very dirty one at that), kettle costs 35euros, lack of consistency in the rooms (some had no hot water for bathing, no toilet roll holder, plugs did not work, lack of wifi in some rooms), thin walls, badly needs refurbishing, weak breakfast and I was not pleased with the customer service at all.

The hotel messed up the room list. Only informed us about the Rome marathon the day we are there which hindered our plans. The day I checked in, they gave me the key to a room that was still being cleaned.

The only good thing about the hotel would be the fantastic location. Was probably grand in its time but did not make efforts to improve itself. Do not recommend.

A splendid, extremely luxurious hotel in the center of Rome strongly recommended

Five-star luxury hotel but not deserved. Shower hard uncomfortable bed, in a 5 star luxury there is the reorganization of the room for the night and instead here you have not seen anyone. We came a weekend in Rome for my 50th birthday and I expected something more, room without air conditioning when there are 28 degrees outside. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone

This was probably the worst hotel I've been to. As soon as we got there we had to wait 4 hours for our room and after 4 hours the reception gave us our key and we went to our room and it was a mess they had still not cleaned the room. Then our room A/C was not working and we informed the hotel and they fixed it 2 days later! Also they had no curtains for our shower until we asked for it! This hotel needs better management and made our say very unpleasant.

Unfortunately, I had the worst experience of my life. After settling in the hotel we went out in the evening and at 22:00 we returned to our room. My YSL Saint Lauren bag was not in the room. First night manager, on the morning of the incident I met with the desk manager and then the hotel manager. They wanted me to wait for news before they went to the police. And it took 3 days. They could not find who entered the room in 3 days, neither the camera nor the room key. They did not care, nor did we call and we went to the police. I have stayed 3 times before this hotel in a problem when no one cares and the addressee can not find a very bad attitude. I know your bag isn't coming back, but they don't take us seriously. We're not gonna let this go. Love is obliged to respect freedom. Too big a shame. In the room, we lock our belongings, passport and valuables into the suitcase and go out. We continue to stay at the hotel because we paid your money and unfortunately. Don't go and don't rely.

Excellent location! Quite expensive for the level of services and facilities. WiFi has bad.

The hotel did not live, however, having used a small child in the lobby in the lobby. I advise you - if you put in the middle of Rome :)

I went for a buffet lunch. Magnificent salon and great quality of service and food.

Stayed last summer of course it was 90+F the whole time. Air Conditioning in rooms did not work at all. It is neat to see but very old. It was OK.

Stayed in a room in the rear of the hotel and it was unbelievably loud all night. Just incessant street noise from the alley below. There was only one towel in the bathroom even though there were two of us. We stayed only one night and I definitely wouldn't have stayed another at this place.

Beautiful hotel not worthy however of a 5 star L. The bathroom not very clean, towels not always forgotten. Friendly and helpful staff. In the center.

Hotel located in the heart of Rome, a historic location built in the early 1800s frequented by people like the great Federico Fellini, the interiors bring the years of the dolce vita back to life, too bad that the room in which I was a guest was to be restored (old parquet etc ..) I still asked other guests and they confirmed that their rooms were ok. Quality and well-assorted breakfast, helpful and professional staff. I will be back in a hurry hoping to have a restored room.

Our superior room was lovely, the bathroom & especially the shower were the great. The only problem was the mattress on the bed, which sloped on one side. The room was extremely clean and cleaned every day. The breakfast service was one of the best breakfasts I have ever experienced, the choices available great. The biggest annoyance was the room service was not available before 7am. So when we had trips booked & needed to leave the hotel before 7, this meant we did not have any breakfast.

An incredible place, a unique old hotel that at least in the lobby has kept everything from the old beauty and gorgeous interior. Incredibly beautiful halls and antique furniture and paintings, crystal chandeliers and beautiful and ornate ceilings impress and remind of history when this place was the center of cultural events ... it is a pleasure to have a cup of coffee there before taking a violin on Via del Corso ...

Very beautiful architecture, fantastic paintings and design. I do not like taste of coffee and cookies. Service is good and friendly.

The location is amazing, the suite is wonderful and the staff has attention for every detail.

The privileged position and the terrace-garden on the roof from where you can admire Rome would give you 5 stars, a less appreciated shade is the furniture and the interior decoration not very well maintained.

Didn't stay here but we ate at the restaurant. Amazing ambiance and even better food. Wonderful customer service.

I feel very safe and comfortable in this hotel I have just booked with them for the third time. This is an old school amazing location that can be seen in many films. It has a nice bar witch is great for having local friends or business associates meet up with me. Staff has always been great with me, but I do my best to be kind and polite to locals when I travel so this is often my experience. There breakfast buffet in the AM. is lovely but I prefer to go for a walk/run at the nearby Villa Borghese park and grab an espresso at one of the many awesome cafes you find in your path after. Other guests I have encountered there are often Italian Actors or Politicians. The neighborhood is outstanding your surrounded by the best classic Roman restaurants, bars and shopping. Everything you need is within walking distance.

5 stars L? No, we're not there. Many lightning strikes, in the bathrooms there is no toilet paper and if you don't notice nobody thinks about it. Catering service for sloppy and miserable events ...

What about ... the top of hotels: elegance, elegance. An environment that has kept the charm of what were the hotels of fairy tales

Beautiful hotel in the center of Rome near the Spanish Steps. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby and very busy with tourists. The hotel was safe and clean. Highly recommend

I'm cold and I do not have wifi and my room is not at all soundproof. Intolerable for a 5 star

We entered this wonderful hotel, right in the center of Rome for an aperitif. In the evocative setting of other times, an epochal atmosphere transpires the charm of art in this luxurious fairytale hotel. Beautiful is an understatement, I was enchanted. We are happy to come back for lunch or dinner. Very kind and professional staff.

Excellent location and excellent concierge staff, but superior room worse than a 2 star hotel. Non-functioning electrical system, cleaning staff who forgot to put towels and detergents. Too much carelessness even though the structure is beautiful and gives life to an atmosphere of the past. If you want the luxury of a 5-star luxury, you won't find it here.

The services at this hotel:
Wifi connection is so poor.
No tissues in the room, they serve only a pocket tissues!
No adapter.
Housekeeping service is so bad and slow.
No helpful concierge at all.

Not a very nice hotel at all sorry to say, allthough the staff were nice and the whole bottom floor of hotle is beautifully decorated but when u walk up the lion Stair case it looks like an old hospital, very old and dirty, didnt look clean when we checked in, bed was hard and pillows uncomfortable, every time someone in another room has a shower we can hear the pipes very loud. Breakfast was an extra charge at 25euro each person. Very disapointed.

I could not wish to celebrate on a nicer terrace !! Unforgettable birthday in a magical setting, all perfect, from the elegant mise en place of our table, to the attentive service, to the breathtaking view. To suggest and absolutely suggest the Risotto Milano-Tokyo, the Tagliata of fassona beef and the Semifreddo with lime with extra virgin olive oil ... a soft cloud of intense flavor. Thanks to the Director, Sig.Tortora for the impeccable organization and to Luca for having pampered us with his discreet and attentive presence throughout the evening.

When I check out I left my luggage and hand bag for few hours until the time of my flight. I realised latter something is missed from my hand bag.

The staff is not really friendly. Rooms are super small and the bathroom was the worse.
The fridge was in the closet and I couldn't reach it because it was super high up in the closet.
The only nice thing was the lobby and the stairs

I have evaluated this structure only from a virtual point of view. Hi Egr. dr. Lani (sales office) As a friend of the Avv. Maria Pia Count of San Giovanni Rotondo in prov. of Foggia, I would like to stay for a short time in a room of the Palazzo, surrounded and piled up with frescoes of unparalleled charm. I have already experienced something similar in an Austrian palace, staying there. P.S. with utmost courtesy, confirm if there is any problem in maneuvering in the garage for a very low sports car. Not a 5-star hotel but the hotel par excellence in the heart of Rome where the atmospheres are breathed in every step

Grand old hotel. Lots of marble. No more expensive than everything else in Rome. Professional staff.

Truly pure luxury and comfort. The view is beautiful, the location is very comfortable, the rooms are a bit antiquated but still beautiful, the staff is perfect in every case. I really recommend accommodation in this hotel, but you also know that in order to have all this you have to spend but the price is not too cheap either.

The ground floor reminds you of a Wes Anderson movie. You step back into a forgotten era of the past. Where the staff relish in believing they are part of an institution(apart from the cleaners). You can't blame the staff for having a smug, unapologetic arrogance to them. As soon as you walk into the lobby. There is a 50ft lion made out of marble staring you in the face.
Is it old?, YES.
Is it worth the money? NO
Are the ancient walls paper thin? YES
Is it worth the visit? YES.
Certainly not five stars, well maybe five stars in 1980. But it is worth just seeing and imagining yourself as some baron or earl of a particular piece of land.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and the location is unbeatable.
