The Gilbert Scott bar is fabulous. We had a drink there yesterday evening thanks to a wonderful staff member who moved tables together for our group. Nothing was too much trouble. Love this quirky little bar & the Booking office is great too.

It is a gorgeous building and stunning interior. The service is below average, as staff inexperienced and rude. It is a nice hotel and comparable to any average place, though represents low value for its actual cost.

The rooms are ok, nothing spectacular, for the price you can get nicer rooms in London. The location is great and the public spaces are great and we ve stayed here multiple times and we love the hotel. However we were checking out on a Sunday when Disney had evidently rented the entire public spaces for a Lion King celebration. We had asked for late checkout on Sunday, nothing was said at check in about not being able to accommodate. On Sunday morning we checked with the front desk and were told that we could not check out late, we could store our luggage but had to pick them up at 2 and the club lounge closed as well. We had plans for the day in London that we had to cancel because we had nowhere to store the bags. And we are Bonvoy members, I hope others were treated a little better than us.

I turned up jetlagged and got put in a room with no natural light (the room overlooked a conference area which was brightly lit at night as they were removing that day's staging. Oh and two small beds rather than one big one. Even worse the member of staff checking me in tried to tell me I had a really lovely room. I really didn't. Not worth the money.

A great venue for a business conference, exceeded my expectations, service was second to none, great roof top terraces and the Ladies Smoking room is must. Decor is beautiful, retaining the period of the hotel.

Amazing location right at the St. Pancras International train station. There are just about 40 Victorian rooms; most of the rooms are typical from a modern hotel. Accommodation are ok, but was a bit of deception after passing through the luxurious lobby and corridors to reach to a quite common hotel room. Very comfortable. Restaurant is astonishing beautiful, used to be the Booking room to the train station.

Great hotel and restaurant. Have eaten there before, and it was very good. So I popped in for coffee....15 minutes later it still hadn't arrived and I had a train to catch. Poor service on this occasion but what a grand place to be badly served in!

Formerly The Midland Hotel, then more recently a derelict office building, this is now back to its grand old style, and what a place the dining hall is. Food is English classics, I had the dressed Dorset crab, which was fantastic, and the rib of beef for two, which was less so. Fillet steak or the slow cooked beef brisket would have been better choices. Wine list is very extensive, and the staff asks to point you in the right direction. This is my friends favourite places to eat in London

Beautiful hotel with tons of old world charm. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are bigger for EU standards and have been updated recently. The location is excellent being at the train station and next to a tube stop at Kings Cross. It's where I stay if possible when in London. The booking office restaurant is delicious with yummy cocktails.

Majestic indeed, go back in time, I want to live here and never leave! 5 this is Royal! Come anytime! You can also live here if there is an apartment for sale! It s up-to-date but lots is Gothic Revival! Come for tea, come for dinner! Just come and live! Lovely and splendid, come and splurge!

Stayed in a superior king. Lovely room but looked better in the photos. They need 2 mistakes with my booking which were annoying but rectified. The building and staircase are magnificent and worth the visit. Ate in the booking hall which makes places like The Ivy seem plain.

The superior room was amazing overlooking British library. It was big and had all the amenities one would expect from a reputed hotel including great hospitality. Morning breakfasts have a good spread. Since, it is located right next to the station, connectivity is good. Overall very satisfied with the stay and recommend it highly.

A striking hotel on the London landscape with interiors that lean towards the Renaissance of its name. Painted ceilings and large interesting staircases make this as good for a conference as it is just to wander around. The bar area in the new section is lively enough at midday lunches and the new cocktail bar is worth a little visit.

Is that a hotel?? :) I stayed here when I was in London for some work, and this building is simply majestic; very unique architecture. Amazing hotel, great rooms, and excellent customer service. Right above / beside the St. Pancras Eurostar station (trains to Paris) and next to King's Cross station. Very easy connections to numerous places around London and beyond. If you don't mind walking, you can easily walk to Regent's Park, London Business School, Lord's Cricket Stadium, Madam Tussaud's, etc. Very happening King's Cross area.

Did not live up to a 5 star experience during my 2 night stay in March 17. Ensure you don't get an internal room with no natural light. Couldn't turn off the aircon, which ran all night. Zero 3G coverage in the room. Awoken at 5.25 by workmen erecting a stage.

Mediocre at best. The rooms in the Barlow tower ate just standard rooms, so the value of cash or points needed to redeem a night stay is not of value. If you want to stay here do try to get rooms in the other tower, but as a loyal member of the Marriott program, I was not afforded the opportunity to be roomed there. I would suggest other properties to maximize your points or cash.

Management did not address the concern I had with house keeping barging into my room for turn down service, while house keeping did knock, she didn't give us time to respond before she opened the door.

While the hotel is located next to the St Pancreas station, first time visitors will have a bit of a challenge navigating the underground or railways getting to the hotel, very little in way of signage or direction.

I would not stay here again unless I had to, while the staff at the front desk is nice and professional , the nuances of management and the lack of value for lifetime elite members is hit or miss.

Very conveniently located, and the friendly staff made me feel very comfortable. The layout is a tad bit problematic, as the rooms take quite a bit of a walk to get to. My favorite part of the hotel is probably the Chambers Club that I got access to because of my Platinum status - a very quiet lounge and chill out and pick up a snack.

The grand entrance is like walking into the set of Beauty and the Beast its just incredible. All the staff were incredibly friendly and that helped me overcome the feeling that I just didnt belong somewhere so beautiful. Our room was incredibly lavish and the bathroom I could safely say is bigger than my house. Would recommend this place to anyone with the budget or even as a treat.

If i could give 0 stars i would. Housekeeping is appeling. No one speaks English and I was waiting four nights for an extra sheet. Please teach your staff the basics of English or dont hire them. How can you work in the hospitatily business when they cannot understand one word. My wife s bday almost ruined due to her allergic reaction from sheets not being reported to management by no English speaking staff . First and last time I will step foot in this place

Wonderful piece of Victorian architecture designed...

Wonderful piece of Victorian architecture designed by George Gilbert Scott in central London. Originally opened in 1873 as the Midland Grand Hotel to serve the company s train station, it closed in 1935 because it lacked modern utilities. It became offices until the 1980 s.

The building was Grade 1 listed in 1967. The building was approved for redevelopment in 2004 and reopened in 2011, 138 years after it originally opened. The upper floors of the building were turned into apartments and the rest was became hotel rooms.

Beautiful hotel, great service, and the Chambers Club is wonderful. I've read several reviews that complained that it's not near the hotspots like Covent Garden or Piccadilly Circus, but it's *right next door* to the King's Cross tube station, which has several lines running through it, making for easy access to anywhere in London. It's a perfect location as far as I'm concerned.
