Wonderful place to visit & doesn't cost a fee to get inside.
Wonderful place to visit & doesn't cost a fee to get inside.
Loved it there! Highly recommend with kids. Even during COVID
It was good experience to explore science world in tiny size. There are to many things to do for kids. One of good points about science center is that it is free. Just $12 for parking. Also there are to many event you can find in Facebook.
So much fun and so many things to do and see! We always have a blast and learn a lot, too!! It certainly doesn't hurt that it's free!!!
Great place. Plan to park at the Planetarium and walk through to Science Center.
Had a great time. Plenty of things to experience and learn for all age groups
Very hands on, and very well organized. A great experience for all ages.
First Friday nights are pretty awesome. We have been to the stranger things and Star wars night.
It's the STL science center it's always a fantastic time with tons to do. Tons of interactive learning for the kids. This past saturday they even had a bunch of live animals for the kids to pet and interact with from chickens, cows, pigs. Great time as always and of course FREE. C'mon now lol
Wonderful place. Spent the entire day here and still had to drag kids out. Gluten free options for lunch. Fed 4 of us for $23. Combo'd the Drury Inn Science Museum package to get free IMAX & free constellation show at the planetarium. Some activities needed to be over 5 & have an adult to do them which was super disappointing to my older kids since I needed to stay with 3 year old.
Pretty fun place to spend a day with kids. It is free to get in but parking is 12 dollars. Food is crazy overpriced and the souvenirs are as well. Lots of cool and interactive exhibits for kids of all ages. They also have different exhibits that get loaned from the Smithsonian. Earlier this year they had a King Tut exhibit and right now they have a moon exhibit with the original Apollo 11 capsule. If you wanted to spend a day you could see everything or you could take your time and not rush and spend 2 or 3 days here. The newer farming section is pretty neat with a few chickens and pigs along with some farm machinery for the kids to explore. The hidden gem here is the concession stand that sells alcohol tucked back in the corner of the farming area.
Went for the film on volcanoes ( which was amazing btw!) and stayed to look around at some of the newer things there. Loved the garden part!
More so based around kids but I'm 23 and had a blast. Free.
I found the chickens!
The entry is free, but pay for parking. Be a mindful guest and don't spend your time looking for street parking.
We came to see the Pompeii exhibit, and it was neat. Only thing missing was (that) photo of a victim; you know which one I mean.
It was an interesting experience. Free admission. Would be great for kids. They have quite a few presentations and some showings that you can pay for extra.
Always a great place to spend time learning about the science behind everyday (and sometimes not so everyday) things. "Dig" up Dinosaur bones, watch a planetarium show, find out how earthquakes, electricity or construction work, fly a flight simulator, have a brain wave battle with a friend or catch a catch a car speeding down the highway on the bridge between the planetarium and the main building. Usually had something new and fun to learn about and it's always a good time to go. Great for kids (and big Kids) too!
A place where kids/adults both can spent full day. Lot of activities and some great shows
Free. And the monthly Friday events are fun for kids and adults.
This place was amazing for kids. The farming area here was unique and we learned a lot from it. A real treat!
Unfortunately alot of exhibits were closed or being remodeled. Learned a lesson go earlier in the day so you and your children can have a better experience.
Wow. We only had 2 hours, but plan to come back next time we are in St. Louis.
Loved the giant Rube Goldberg machine. I could watch it for hours. My daughter and I built a dinosaur fossil, took in part of a show about electricity, and enjoyed building a Mars rover.
Let's face it. Standing on glass over the Interstate or using a radar gun on the cars that pass beneath is pretty cool.
Definitely one of the best Science museums I've been too!
Went here with my granddaughter (18 months). Plenty of things that caught her interest. Nice facility. Seem to have spaces with changing exhibits, so I expect to see some new items next visit. Had a hard time getting the little girl to leave.
Loved the Pompeii exhibit. The main museum is free and great for kids.
Very nice can be a free experience if you choose. Paid parking available for $10. Rides and attractions available for extra cost. Dinning hall and theater inside. We loved the new GROW attraction.
Fun and varied exhibits and activities. Nit much for my younger girls (3 and 1) and not much for we adults, but seems ideal for kids 7-15ish. Can't beat free!
This place has almost everything a kid wants and teaches them how they work in the same way
I liked the rock area a lot. Everything looked clean and it was a very entertaining place.
The science center is great for elementary to middle school age groups. When researching things to do in st. louis I found the science center but no mention of most of the interactions being focused for younger age groups. Also that the center its self is free but parking is $10. There is no close public parking. I would reccomend but for families with younger kids and not teens.
Not really as big and cool as it use to be.. it was fun but there seems to be a large area under construction. But overall a good place to go. But seriously 2019.... a video game area.... i get the "learn the history and science" involved.... but the kids should not just be able to sit and play an xbox all day...
Cool things to see but unless you do social features it will be only about an hour of things to see. But still has cool things to see.
So much to see and do! Went for the special exhibit on Pompeii and enjoyed it very much! Special exhibits on the moon walk were also present and very informative.
Absolutely enjoyable! Something for kids of all sizes. Easy to navigate
Great educational science center. Even more amazing that this place has no admission fee. The only cost is parking $12, or $5 if you buy tickets to one of the movies inside the science center. Some have complained that the food cost was high, but I didn t think it was unreasonable given the free admission. Plan on spending 3-4 hours here, even if you don t do any of the additional movies or guided exhibits.
The first Friday events are amazing! There's a different theme every month. Everything except food is free and the star show is extended. Outside they have big power telescopes set up for public viewing.
Always love the science center great for the whole family
My kids and I always have a great time here. Not only because it is FREE but they enjoy every thing from all 3 floors and we happened to walk in on a man making a science experience so that was something new and interesting only I do not like seeing things "blow up" but we got to learn about different chemicals. Everything is so expensive there so I try not to buy anything in the stores or get my kids face painted since we did it before and the paint is hard to get off. But on the good note if you are bored and kids are ancy to go somewhere and you don't have much money this is the place to go to get them tired!
So much interactive devices there! We had lots of fun!
Huge place. Lots to see and do. Kids loved it. I loved that it was free. Closes early.
Went with my boyfriend and we had a blast. Really enjoyed the flying simulators
Someone paid attention. The last 3 times over the last few years that I have visited this place, I was saddened at the lack of things to see and do here. It was not as it once was. I stopped taking my children here for this reason. Then today, I thought I'd take my children and my granddaughter to see if anything has changed and can I say WOW. So much more for kids to do and see that I could have ever imagined. It was absolutely wonderful. I hope this place always remains this fun and knowledgeable as it was today.
My wife and I went to see the Pompeii Exhibit at the center in May. It was quite enjoyable and interesting. Artifacts from the first century were fascinating. The molds of the bodies of the victims of the volcano were quite sobering to observe. Of course there are other exhibits as well.
My 14 year old had a great time from the planetarium to the traveling exhibit Pompeii
Such a fun experience for the whole family! We spent five hours there and could have spent more. The kids had so much fun playing with the hands-on displays. And the staff was great about cleaning all of the manipulatives between kids. They were clearly doing all they could to cut down on bacteria and viruses.
Always love coming to SLSC. From the Discovery room, to the special exhibits, to the planetarium. We love it all.
Pompeii exhibit was amazing and everything else was awesome as well
LOVE the Science Center. Wish I could make it there more often
Everyone was so polite and helpful... A friend and I were there to see the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit which is worth something...
Very fun. So much to do! A great experience for the little ones and be amazed of how fun science is
Lots of interactive stuff for small kids to do. It is more of a children's museum kind of place then it is a Science center, so be prepared if you have older kids or are interested in sophisticated exhibits and informatics. The night sky projection dome is great in the planetarium, but the special program on the moon only featured minimal use of the dome projections. Otherwise it was a PowerPoint slide show for NASA's moonshot
The exhibits were amazing and the kids were interested, but between being extremely crowded and the food being overpriced and latex-tasting the experience was diluted. We ate at the science cafe thinking sandwiches would be a safe bet and the homemade chips were overdone and tasteless. I had the smoked turkey wrap and could not taste anything except what I would describe as latex and plastic. The experience overall was good but in my opinion save your $40 and eat somewhere else.
The St. Louis science Center is a very unique place. We visit the science center once a year and we love it. The science center allows you to interact with the exhibits and often update the exhibits . This year the main exhibit targeted arcade style games and the history of the games. The science center had several games from the 80s that you were allowed to play with. It really brought back some nostalgic memories and allowed younger children to have fun. The science show is definitely worth attending and kept our 8 year old entertained. The museum is very clean and updated and the staff is super friendly. Parking is available and the parking cost is $10. The St. Louis science Center is a definite must visit place if you re in St. Louis
Love this place! The new grow exhibit is so cool! I love that there is more of an outside part of the science center! Kidos had a blast but be careful there is a water play area out there too . Also you can ride a tractor around a track. It cost $2 or $3 to do it but still fun!
Great place to take the kids. Needs some updating as it is getting worn out. A lot of exhibits no longer working or just over used but it's free.
Even tho we're adults there is still so much fascination. We needed to get there earlier to have more time. Love the IMAX. it's always worth the money.
Still one of the best in the country, free to get in with awesome exhibits. You can get into the STLSC via their main parking lot if of Oakland OR go into Forest park off if Hampton and park for free by the Panetarium and walk through it from that end, including walking across highway 40 on the tunnel/bridge with glass looking ports into the highway below. From dinosaurs to the ISS, this place has something for everyone, of every age.
Great place for kids! Adults can have fun there too if they just let themselves
General admission is free just like everything else in Forest Park! Most of the exhibits are interactive. Truly this museum is on par with big ones in other major cities like the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. I dare even say there are aspects which the STL science center does better
This is a large science museum and planetarium. There are live science shows and lots of docents to answer questions.
Super fun! The restaurants in the lobby were great as well. The pizza restaurant has good pizza but the garlic rolls aren't amazing. They have small snacks there as well. Its lemonade was a bit sour though. I personally didn't eat at the sandwich shop, but it was good. The Apollo attraction and its surroundings were interesting, and some of the others looked interesting, but we didn't have time to go to them. The gift shop had some very interesting things, though, like their bubble timers, necklaces, and sweatshirts. The bottom floor was full of more general attractions, but it was still interesting! I would recommend this to anyone in St. Louis looking for a fun time!
The St. Louis science center is a must see if you visit. They have tons of cool things for children and adults. So much fun for all ages!!!
Great Science center! Top shelf exhibits, brand new digital Omnimax theater, 2nd largest planetarium in the western hemisphere with Zeiss Universarium Mark 9 projector, many other cool things to see and do.
Great fun, educational and clean!! The clean part I thought was remarkable because there were so many people. There are numerous interactive family games. Our favorites were the giant games and gravity blocks/bridge.
We thoroughly enjoyed the huge range from artifacts to agriculture.
The King Tut exhibit and omnimax movie Mummies were both very good.
Great place to take your family. The Game exhibit was a great hit with teens and younger children
Absolute must see if you're going to St.Louis, especially if you have kids. The place is huge and has lots of activities for the whole family.
If you go you absolutely have to watch something on their amazing theater. Really a one of a kind experience you'll remember for a long time.
Spent about 3 hours there and it wasn't enough time for my 11 year old son...not to mention for the wife or myself. Saw the new Pompeii exhibit (a must see)! Will definitely be back again.
I've visited in the past and enjoyed the science center with friends. This time I came with my boyfriend and mother for the Discovery of King Tut exhibit! It was great learning some new things! Everyone enjoyed! I especially love the anamatronic T.Rex and the room for the restoration of real dinosaur bones! So cool! There are so many different sections with different things to do. The Science Center is great for all ages!
So many things to touch and interact with. Super fun
A really fun place. Kids would love this place. Me and my wife visited this place. Even we enjoyed it a lot. Would definitely recommend
I had a great time at the Science Center. However, it is definitely a place for kids. If you don't mind them getting in the way, definitely go. Also, I did not like that a lot of the exhibits you had to pay extra and many were temporarily closed. It was a little misleading. I would have been happier paying an admission fee and getting to see the exhibits rather than getting in free. Would have been way better for budgeting and trip planning since I'm only in STL for a few days.
This place is free and has some free parking available. A lot to learn in a fun environment. There is something for everyone. They even have a Build a Bear.
We had so much fun in the game exhibit. This is a big facility with a lot of things to experience. Admission is free but to experience most of the main attractions you have to pay a fee. Worth it however and the funds go towards new exhibits. Parking is not free as well, it costs $10 as well. Can spend at least 3 to 5 hours here getting lost. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Facility is very clean and well kept. Thank you!
It was amazing, new live shows every 30 mins or so. Good for all ages. Handicapped accessible
This is one of my favorite places in St Louis and First Friday is one of their best events
What a wonderful place for discovery. Children of all ages will thoroughly enjoy themselves.
Plenty of free things to do. Lots to learn for all ages. $17 for two sodas & a popcorn! We didn't even bother looking at the big restaurant area. Some of the pay events were reasonable. Pretty clean. Overall great place for kids & family.
Great place. I was here for a conference but didn't get a chance to look around. Seemed like you could spend all day here.
I will always love the science center
In my "Whitney Houston"voice
They took away grossology
It's definitely not what it was
Great exhibits. Very interactive. Definitely visit if you are in the area. And kids will definitely love it and learn various things.
GREAT CHEAP FUN! It's a free science center that has a ton to do for nothing. Plus, for very little you can do "extras" all though the facility. I added a fun thing we did that was a topography exhibit... you moved the sand and everything that was over a certain level was projected with sand... the rest with water. It was a blast.
Nice place. $10 parking. Lots of free stuff for kids. Also has IMAX, flight simulator, and a bunch of other pay stuff.
Enjoyed this place again! When we was there it was packed with end of the year field trips! The south lower side was turned into a food court.
Went to see the Pompeii Exhibition. Incredible. Told the story well and I was overwhelmed by the amount of authentic artifacts. A must see for anyone with even the slightest interest in history, and even for those who don't, but should.
This place was really cool! We were in St. Louis just visiting for spring break and we were looking for things to do around town. We were really mesmerized by the tractions that they had there. It was a fun day.
Awesome place! My son loved it so much he wants to go back when we come back to St. Louis!
Great indoor activity for the whole family. My kids loved the live science demonstrations and the variety of exhibits for all their varying interests. Pleased to see all the COVID restrictions in place, made us feel very comfortable.
I was so impressed with the items at the Pompeii exhibit. It was a great learning experience. A little crowded, but it was a very hot day and a weekend, so I expected a crowd. IMAX volcanoes movie was impressive as well.
You have options that range from free to pricy. Had a great morning for zero dollars. Had the option to blow through $100. With different paid extras. Had wonderful time without the pay extras.
Wonderful educational displays where children can interact.
The Pompeii exhibit was wonderful. I have been to Pompeii and thought they did a great job on this presentation.
Great fun at the Science Center today, educational & fun too. Staff was polite & helpful. Really enjoyed our time there.
I wish I had gone to the Pompeii exhibit sooner. I would go over and over again if I could. What a wonderful exhibit. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. There were so many different kinds of rooms also. I loved the planetarium and the game room. I got to play Sonic the hedgehog!!!!
