Location is amazing, and my wife had a yummy salad with shrimp. I can't recall the last time I sent food back at a restaurant, but today I sent my food back TWICE! Our food order took a long time. (the couple next to us ordered 2 drinks and an app, and they were gone before our food arrived.) I ordered Key West chicken with steamed broccoli and rice as sides. When it arrived I bit into rock hard uncooked broccoli, which I sent back. The chicken is two very think pieces stacked up with pineapple and caramelized onions and honey mustard. The Chicken was black on the outside and so over cooked that you could hardly cut it with a steak knife!! The bar tender/waitress sent it back to the kitchen. The recooked broccoli came back fully cooked and yummy. The chicken dish came back cooked correctly and was good. So, it gets better.. my new steak knife came with a long of twisted piece of metal from what looks like a metal scrub brush/pad from the kitchen jammed into the front of the knife handle. I had to take a photo of that! Manager never came over to say anything. Nothing was compt, and I paid the bill.

We were sitting at the bar, waiting for a table to come available. We cashed out at 7:34 from the bar. We were seated in the patio area until 8:16 pm. My girlfriend went to the hostess station requesting assistance. No one ever came. We ended up leaving without proper service. I'll never come back again

We have eaten here in several occasions. These were both small and large group events. The food has been excellent each time. The staff is friendly and courteous. The location has an outstanding view, and during the cooler months you can sit outside. Wait times and prices are reasonable. Last time we had the St. John's burger, shrimp tacos and haddock sandwich, all which were very good. Recommended!

This place was horrible! First we get there and they tell us that the wait is 45 minutes to eat outside. So we say okay and go over to the bar and to get 3 drinks. Stood there for 15 minutes before being acknowledged. After the bartender took our order and gave us our drinks she told me I had to wait while she made other drinks to cash me out. After we paid for drinks we went outside and noticed there were about 10 open tables so we went back inside and asked about the empty tables and we were told that the kitchen is backed up so they arent seating people. So I asked if we could at least get a table so we could enjoy our drinks and we would wait to order. She had to ask the manager, who was not so friendly but agreed. We sat outside and watched several others being seated after us and placing food orders after we were told we had to wait, and received them. I had to ask the waitress if we could order now and she said oh sure . Wow! We got a fried platter that half was under cooked or just tasted for a lack of better words gross . Our bill was almost $90. They never asked how our food was, checked on us or anything. We had to ask for refills and condiments. I knew I should have gone with my gut when the bartender was clueless to leave. This was mine and my husbands anniversary and we took our son with us, this expensive experience left more than a bad taste in our mouths.

Nice food. Quick service. Great view. Only thing I don't give it 5 stars is because the person who attended us wasn't very patient or social. Not that she treated us badly but it left me feeling like an annoyance. I would recommend to order the gator bites.

Food was good (not amazing) and the prices were great - you get what you pay for. Staff was super friendly! Also, if you can sit on the patio, do it. It's absolutely lovely. Great view of the water and protected from the weather. Loved their fruit smoothies!

They were so slow, and then they charged for sides on a meal that was suppose to come with 2 side and the waitress didn t even know the menu. When we asked about the charge they said it was b/c she ordered premium sides. The manager was rude and disrespectful. The steaks that were ordered med well came out-burnt and well done. Then it took forever for the steak to come back. Everyone finished their meal and we still had not received our steak.

This is a great place to eat, drink and be HAPPY! The service was exceptional, because our waitress, Brianna, did a great job taking care of us. Brianna, is young, but wise beyond her years. She seemed to know our every need and made our dinner a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere is very nice, tables are nicely spaced, so there is ample room for large or small parties. At St John's steak and seafood you have different atmospheres, such as the beautiful Lake Monroe View and the darker lake view for the romantic view.
The food is absolutely excellent. The taste, the portions and the great service...priceless! mpw

Enjoyed every minute we were there. The service was great and the food was excellent. Looking forward to returning many more times. We sat outside along the St.Johns River. The perfect way to spend a late after noon dinner.

We have been here twice now and I love it. Prices a fair, food is always good. But the staff make it a really enjoyable evening. We had Rosemarie as our bartender/ waitress last night and couldn't have been happier

Was told 10-15 minute wait and had to remind her to write down my name since she forgot to. Over the next 35 minutes I saw several people sat down that showed up after us. It's like they completely forgot about us. I was standing in the front area the whole time too, weird.

We had reservations, as first time guests; WAITING FOR 30-45 MINUTES; WHEN WE WHEN A TABLE BECAME AVAILABLE, PLACE OUR FOOD ORDER WITH SERVER; WAS TOLD THAT COOKS HAD RANNED OUT OF FOOD.
THERE REASON WAS THEY HAD A LARGE PARTY, HOW DO RESTAURANT COOK UP ALL THE FOOD, BUT STILL HAVE CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE BEEN WAITING AND CUSTOMERS STILL COMING INTO THE RESTAURANT, DIDN'T NOT OFFERS WERE MADE TO ACCOMMODATE THE 45 MINUTES WAITING, MANAGEMENT KNEW ABOUT THE ISSUE, NO APOLOGY.
THE LADY BATHROOM HAD DIRTY TOILET PAPER AND PAPER TOWELS ALL OVER THE BATHROOM; FLOOR OF BATHROOM WAS FILTHY DIRTY, THE EMPLOYEES WALKING PASS BY YOU; LOOKING IN YOUR FACE AND DON'T EVEN SPEAK(WAIT STAFF).
QUESTION HOW DO ANY RESTAURANT RUN OUT OF FOOD AND STILL, ALLOWING CUSTOMERS TO BE COMING AS VERBALLY TOLD TO OUR PARTY.

Food was ok and view was pretty but the tables and chairs looked like you were visiting your old aunt. Much need of a revamp inside and in the outdoor dining area. The menu was way to big, they should stick to their signature dishes and leave it at that.

Menu looks great as far as choices. I would like taste everything on it. I had the New Orleans blackened chicken with rice but didnt get my other side.

Service is a bit slow for me but i believe its worth it. When the server finally came to us after 15 mins, she apologized for the wait and then said "what you want to drink" i think ask hdr name because she didnt tell me, she then said Sandy. My sauce was a bit salty but still good. I ordered a frozen coconut margarita and it was served to me in. Regualar glass with nothing on the rim Nd the texture wasnt like a frozen drink but more like a milky drink. I ask for it to be sent back and got iced tea.

Lastly, when i got my bill and over looked it and did some math to make sure the magarita was taken off the bill was over priced. So i pulled out my calculator Nd added everything up including the tax and eas .20 cents more. She couldnt tell md why. She just said she will discount it 20 cents.... i said its ok its just 20 cents..... how many others are billed l I'll ke this

I'm only giving them 4 stars because the Conch Fritters (appetizer) were served without the Bayou dipping sauce but was delicious and the Ceasar Chicken wrap didn't have bacon on it as described (it was a lunch special). The other appetizer, Fresh Oysters Orleans was served properly and delicious, as well as the other entree Shriimp and grits. Our server was attentive, checked on us regularly. It has a nice atmosphere with a great view of the water.

Met friends here for lunch and everyone enjoyed it. We had the seafood sampler plate (grilled shrimp, haddock, scallops) and fish 'n chips, and both were really good. Portions sizes were large. Also shared an order of the Pig-Out Chips, also quite good. Nice place.

My wife and I enjoyed a some rare time alone on the back deck. The view is the best in Sanford. We were served stiff drinks and bland food, appropriate for their geriatric demographic. We were served by an attentive and appropriately jaded server who had their service tempo down pat and would clearly rather be anywhere else.

The food arrived promptly and was just... So... Boring. My wife's blackened chicken was, I think, just grilled. My crab cake patty was made from Stove Top, with toppings like someone dumped the complimentary side salad on top of the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were better than the sandwich.

I would go again, with friends, because the scenery really is fantastic, the price was fair and the service was prompt. I'll just be more, specific / picky.

My wife & I sat on the patio with a gorgeous view. I had gumbo to start, my wife had mussels with white wine. She had Haddock & I had frog legs for main course. All was excellent as well as our server Kim. We truly enjoyed going out after 6 months of lock down.

What a great find! The atmosphere is perfect, the people are great, and the food is outstanding!! Alexis took great care of us during our visit. The views on the river are awesome and having live music was just the right touch. This was a very pleasant evening all around; watching the old paddle boat go by, enjoying the beautiful river/lake view of the setting sun, and can't say enough about the food and service. A must visit place for sure!

We sat at the bar in order to see river view but the bartender/waitress was also doing double duty out on the floor which meant we were neglected. I ordered filet mignon which looked more like a sirloin but was tasty. I expected my salad to come out before meal which it did within 1 minute so needless to say I doggie bagged the salad. Will not be back. Too many other places to go.

Wonderful Experience, employees loved it. Very private during lunch opening and scenery was epic on the St John's. Seen a few tug boats and other interesting stuff happening on the water. This is a real Florida experience

Wow! A hundred times, wow! This place reminded my wife and I of how restaurants are supposed to make you feel. It was our first time visiting St. John's River Steak & Seafood but the staff here made us feel welcomed. Genuine greetings and smiles all around set the tone going in and the food raised the bar! Boom Boom shrimp didnt make the photos, they were too good, I'm sorry. Then the Seafood Crab Boil.....it was for real! Check out the photos. Seasoned to perfection, my crab meat wasn't sticking to the shells, if you eat snow crabs then you know what I mean. I could go on and on, bottom line, we're going back and if you enjoy seafood, you should go too. Very worth it! Thank you Cierra(our server)!
