Great location, in front of union square. Room is not sound proof. We could see union square from the window, and heard noise when trucks passed by.
Great historical hotel. Alexandra's on the 32nd floor is a beautiful event space.
My favorite San Francisco hotel. The upper stories on the new edition have wonderful views.
I attended the On24 Webinar World event at The Westin St. Francis. The event was well organized and staff was friendly and helpful in finding the conference rooms, dining locations, etc. The catering was also of excellent quality with an array of options and sensitivity to dietary restrictions. The event had plenty of comfortable seating for the multiple seminars throughout the day. Overall, the Westin St. Francis is an excellent place to hold a professional event.
Great friendly staff. But if you have a late check in. Dont expect a clean room.
The room I was in was large for San Francisco standards. There was a bar, full service restaurant, wine bar, 24 hr room service, and concierge desk. It was everything I expected it to be. Well staffed, and staff were friendly, and helpful.
Great clean rooms and an awesome shower. Had a nice view of the square.
Great hotel, great service but $85 to park your car overnight..... RIDICULOUS.
Beautiful hotel. Excellent food and customer service. Rooms are a bit small though.
Poor service. No one wants to do their job and yet demands tips! If no tip is given they publicly try and humiliate you.
Good hotel with newer rooms and older historic rooms. Cool wine bar.
Classic architecture makes this a warm and inviting place. Staff is helpful and food is top notch. Be sure to visit the 32nd floor for a spectacular 360-degree view of the city.
Anything Can't be better than it
Location services rooms
Top class
Horrible. Got to the hotel at 6.30pm, with the check in opened for my suite from 4pm. I was simply told that the room was not ready, but that they were cleaning it. "Why don't you hang around in the lobby and we're going to give you a... soda or something... " I told them to send it to my room once it was ready. Never happened. Got into the room to find a badly stained couch with a knife puncture in one of the pillows. My kid started to crawl on the floor, only to find pistachios, wine corks and beer caps under the furniture. Told them to send me a manager, he never made it up. They send 2 cleaning folks that asked what should they do about the couch... then they said they can't do anything about the stains... 550 usd a night and I get this shoved down my throat. The attitude at front desk, through the roof. Hands on the sides when I mentioned I wanted to talk to their manager, contempt and general lack of any trace of common sense. Please stay away. Hyatt, St. Regis, Sheraton, Four Seasons they never disappointed in SF.
Adding a followup: I wrote to the Westin St Francis management and I got a very prompt reply to my concerns. The points from my stay got promptly credited to my SPG account (which did not happen after my check-out). I was initially never going to reconsider this hotel for a stay, but given the level of responsiveness showed by high level management, I simply have to re-add it to my SF hotels list and attribute this experience to the high volume they had during holidays.
Always the best, water pressure sucks but you don't get this hotel for the amenities, it's for the location.
A modern hotel with old world charm in the heart of San Francisco ..magic!
Been to rooftop which has amazi,g view. Elevator also had great view
Location is great, the interior in the modern tower was great. There was some technical problem with the room keys, it locked me out quite a few times
Great location. Room had a partial view of Union Square.
Beautiful architecture, excellent location. Expensive, but hey it's San Francisco.
Stayed here for a week on the 18th floor while I had training at work.
Pros:
-convenient location
-comfy beds
-nice view of SF from glass elevators
-option to decline housekeeping for bonus SPG points
Cons:
-1st service staff I spoke with over the phone wasn't very friendly
-thin walls
-no special amenities for gold members
I stayed at a better place for half the price than this overpriced room. Don't waste your time.
lovely stay while we were visiting. A very beautiful historic hotel!
There is a protest outside which is annoying but eh.
Very elegant and formal. Waiters are a bit messy and rushed, but very nice and hospitable
Had no issues here. Was here for a professional event. I had no experience with much of the staff. The world cup was on and the lobby had a great vibe about it.
Very luxurious hotel downtown in San Francisco, I believe that there is no pool as I didn t see one on my visit which upset me. The parking is a bit pricey which is expected in a major city, but overall a great hotel with a lot of history.
I was here for a corporate event and the experience was great. The catered food selections were excellent and the striking views of the city from the well appointed 32nd floor were outstanding. All of the staff who were helping out with the event were courteous and attentive.
Fantastic hotel! I travel a lot for work and the staff was incredibly attentive and personable. Can't say enough good things about them.
The Westin St. Francis was fine experience. The room was clean and comfortable, the lobby and cafe were excellent. The building itself is beautiful and conveniently located near the Moscone center (I was in town for a conference). Housekeeping and Front desk staff were courteous.
Courteous staff and a pleasant venue for a small gathering
Clean and quiet place. Great location and close to everywhere!
Loved it. Rooms was beautiful with nee and old features. Hotel lobby was exquisite.
Very nice hotel located in a great area but there are a lot of homeless people around the outside due to Union Square.
This hotel is awful!! It's old , dull in the rooms but the lobby is fabulous. But let's get to the point the hotel room that I stayed in was disgusting! They did not wash the bathroom at all! The bath tub had hand full of long hair strains on the wall and bath tub floor. And when I called them to fix it they did not. This is disgusting! I paid my own money for this! A maid can't do her job better yet they manger can't not force his/her maids to do a better cleaning job! I do not recommend this hotel at all!
Loved the hotel! Great staff and rooms were cleaned very well everyday.
Had to wait for like an hour when checking in though as my room wasn't ready, apart from that I enjoyed my stay here
I travel every week to various parts of the country and stay in various business hotels... This one is readily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have been put in the older wing of the hotel and the carpet is so dirty that I keep my shoes on every evening. The toilet seat is damaged worse than a public toilet and the heating/AC unit is positioned in a way that you can't sleep on the bed is you keep it on. Absolutely horrible experience. Never again will they get my (company's) money.
Jobs are very friendly, very clean rooms. No problem
Great service, great services. Valet can better in pricing.
Beautiful, luxurious hotel! The architecture and decor alone are fantastic. The rooms are very clean and comfortable! I would definitely return for another stay!
I stayed in the tower and I have to say the experience was fantastic I particularly like the way they have merged the original early 1900 architecture with a modern hotel it has been the venue for many historic events and visits and is steeped in history
Great customer service, super friendly, great rooms and a view of downtown SF and the bay!
Historic hotel is in an amazing location literally right on Union Square. Has a great, historic atmosphere. Ask for a room with a view of Union Square and preferably one of the rooms that have been updated. Do not park in the garage, the price is outrageous, the garage across the street is more reasonable. It is one of the best spots to do some great shopping & eating.
So luxurious downstairs and yet so old and small upstairs.
The hotel has a nice older building vibe. The elevator situation is a bit confusing. You scan your key card, press a floor button, before strolling on to am elevator. It's difficult to get a good view with tall buildings all around.
Really cool old hotel in the heart of downtown. Service was great. The rooms were lacking some pretty standard modern amenities (bedside USB, convenient plugs, better coffee station) but was otherwise clean and comfortable. The decor is aging but gives it that old feel I suppose.
Very nice historic hotel with a great atmosphere and centrally located, very good service and environmentally friendly. Rooms are smart and clean. Unfortunately a bit small and not very bright, but that's often the case with big cities. Overall, a great stay.
Nice central location in SF with great public transit access. The hotel has an older design and a large room. No pool, no microwave and they prestock the fridge with things that you get charged with after holding for more than 10 seconds.
A friend visiting from the Philippines lost her credit card. She needed to fly out from San Francisco so I booked and paid for a room for her with my American Express card. When she arrived they would NOT allow me to pay for the room, but required her to pay cash...with the last cash she had. But, they were going to charge me (as a No Show) if she left to go to another hotel. Sure, I understand fraud is rampant in America, but your lack of heart - sucks. Did you go to the United Airlines school of Customer Service? Thanks for not even calling me.
Great service and staff..beautiful amenities..and great food!!
The hotel was great but it was hard to locate around. It was very expensive and I don t think I got the experience I was expecting.
Our stay was great. The room quality was satisfactory and we were comfortable the whole time. My main complaints are that there was no fan or lock in the bathroom, and the A/C unit only had an auto function. You couldn't specifically control the hot or cool air.
Very nice hotel very well exaggeratedly located very close to everything very nice tension the rooms very clean the views very parents very recommendable
Premium hotel with all the trimmings! Not cheap but you get what you pay for here. Slightly limited on the bar choices. The Clock house is noisy and uninviting and the other bar in the lobby seems a bit lost, but there's so much choice within a couple of blocks, if you want a quiet beer you can find one.
