A Favorite! One of only a few great music venues in the area! Always a good time!

Customer service by the security and majority of the staff was excellent! Historic spot and historic show. Pretty quick to get inside the building, restrooms was okay, could've been a little better. Merchandise area was kinda small but was okay. Would come again and recommend friends and family to see a show @ this venue!
Nice little venue. Personal concerts. Seen some awesome bands here.
I worked hear back in the day with the audio crew seen a lot of cool acts st. Andrew's Hall will always hold a special place in my heart
I went to see Greta van fleet. Great show the venue was perfect. The sound was excellent. Plenty of security. Overall was a awesome experience
Cozy, small. Sound wasn't the greatest but it wasn't horrible.
Show was great, not so thrilled about the wet paint that was not marked on the chain where they made us wait that is now on my jacket. :/
Thousand Foot Krutch and Adelitas Way - The venue is awesome for a good rock show.
Best small venue in Detroit. Intimate, small crowd joint. Never a bad time here.
Nice historic well maintained venu, great show, be prepared to stand all night
Really cool place! We saw Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y and had a great time. Plenty of room but I will probably buy balcony seats next concert.
Best Small Venue in Detroit, a group of us attended VNV Nation's show November 30, 2018, we were early and talking about seeing the second floor an usher overheard our conversation and asked to take us on a tour we loved it the balcony, private seating and a bar area you think came out of the Matrix movie just simply impressive, all 6 of us upgraded immediately and will never look back VIP Society Room Access us the way to go. Great staff added to the experience!
Terrible venue ppl like it gets so cramped u cant breathe or see anything
Oh how I love this place! So many concerts I attended and enjoyed here. Does not matter if you're going to a punk rock concert or hip-hop concert -- the crowd, the staff, the security, all the way to set-up crew and the band of course, are just amazing!
Great staff and a wonderful place to visit i'll be going back there in future
Went to see a Butch Walker concert!! Best concert ever!
I've only been to Saint Andrews Hall once, and was pleasantly surprised by how well the building is maintained, how friendly the staff are, and how efficiently everything went. Parking is not a problem, as there are a variety of different lots within a block of the venue, costing anywhere from $7-$15. Doors were at 7, but they allowed us to enter at 6 into The Shelter (the entrance is just on the back side of the building), which kept us out of the rain and the heat. The Shelter featured a happy hour with a good variety of drinks, A/C, some seating, and bathrooms. At 7 on the dot, they allowed people to start heading upstairs. We purchased the upgraded balcony admission, and were very happy to see that there was seating. The upgraded tickets also gives you access to the Society Room which features a bar, and plenty of seating. The balcony was well worth the extra cost since we had a great view, seats, and a staff member would run drinks for you so you didn't have to get up. The show started, and ended on time. I couldn't have asked for a better experience at Saint Andrews Hall, and I can't wait to return.
I've only been inside the Shelter, but it's so Detroit feeling, you know? Urban. Underground. Edgy. The beer isn't to expensive and you can get very close to the stage. Close to no seats, but they sell snack food. Bathrooms are clean for what it is. Did you know they filmed the rap battle in 8 Mile here?
Yea this place is a great venue for concerts. It's a smaller venue but that just means no matter where you're standing it's gonna be a great view. Two bars on the left and right of the stage and one downstairs in the Shelter.
Very intimate setting to catch a concert. Balcony seats were great. Easy parking.
A nice venue itself. The last concert I attended here seemed particularly over-crowded, though, and seats on the upper balcony were quite pricey - $30 per person. And that is on top of your admission fee. Staff were friendly enough. CHON was very good. I would recommend it, just bring a full wallet for prim-o views.
Hot as balls, but it's a great lil place to see shows!
I've seen several shows at this venue and St. Andrew's hall is one of my favorites. Upon arrival, security performs thorough checks to ensure safety for everyone. St. Andrew's staff has always been helpful, informative, and kind. I always look forward to shows here.
Amazing place to enjoy your favorite singers! Staff is very friendly and helpful. My sister lost her jacket and an employee (Sarah) managed to assist us in looking for it! Overall great experience!!
Great place to see a concert, atmosphere and acoustics are top notch.
Decent venue if the show is sold out expect to be packed in like sardines. Overpriced upstairs price will vary but generally won't be worth it unless you absolutely need more personal space. Bar services in consistent some nights cash only but no indication until you get to the bar. Staff is fairly friendly.
First you will need to find parking in the surrounding area at one of the local lots out big parking structure. Most of the parking is within a couple blocks of walking which isn't bad. The venue is decent. Very open space and decent bars. There is no where to sit unless you go upstairs away from the action. Bathrooms are clean and stocked. There's a coat check also
Customer service was decent, pricing was good, historic place. I'd definitely come back to see other shows, upper deck for an extra fee sucks a proper especially since it's pretty close to the price of the show already. Semi decent space on the main floor. All in all, I'd probably tell family and friends or venue enthusiast to check it out.
What a cool place, loud and right next to the bands
Amazing place to see your favorite band. Upgrade to the Society Room for the best view!
Great venue! Was really surprised with the amount of staff and how polite they were. Bathroom was the best I've ever seen at a venue. Very nice place!
Very fun. Good sound, and lights. Remodeled bathroom. Lots of bar space.
Boombox sounded so funky! Cannot wait to see more people at this venue!!
Pulls great bands and artist however very strict and hard to get a hold of needed parties
Awesome family friendly venue for my daughter's first concert! Even had nice security staff, Antonio made it so my daughter could enjoy the concert a little longer even! So nice and thoughtful of staff. Definitely will be returning for more concerts here.
Great, small venue! Balcony was well worth the upgrade!
Amanda Davis is nominated for Box Office Manager of the year! Special mention also to the woman who s name I didn t catch I spoke with prior to Amanda. I got scammed by a scalper site that was designed to look like the St. Andrews home page. Totally my fault, but all the same I overpaid for balcony tix for my 14 year old son and his 14 year old friend to see Lecrae tonight upstairs, and out of the Gen Admin crowd. When I attempted to go up the guy scanning tix broke the news to me. He sent me to the box office where I was educated about how these hustles work. She was kind, professional, caring, and had mercy on me. She showed empathy for my situation. She knew that I would pay all over again because I was keeping these kids off the main floor no matter what it was gonna cost me. Rather than taking advantage of the opportunity to grab some cash she only charged me for one seat, and let the boys go on her dime. The only thing she asked of me was that I wouldn t let the scalpers get off without a fight. She didn t want them to have it easy for the next sucker like me that they hooked. She didn t have to do anything and I we both knew it, yet she did with grace and hospitality. Awesome leader you have in position St. Andrews. Well done. Thanks Amanda.
I was at the old Saint Andrews (The Shelter) for Eminem's Revival release. LIT!! I missed him in person but I got the album and merch. Historic
Venue is GREAT! Clean bathrooms which was a plus!
There was a disturbance by a fellow patron therefore leaving me to give this a 4 star review. The staff, who seemingly didn't know this person was completely inebriated, handled the situation in a reasonable manner. Although, there was one staff person (this was 6 years ago, so I am sure this person is LONG gone) got very aggressive with this patron telling them to get the F*** out (not using any physical contact). The *OBVIOUSLY DRUNK* patron ended up leaving then vomiting outside of the concert hall.
Police were outside, and I believe "handled" the situation from there. But yeah, drunk person... not hard to tell, nor is it hard to smell the alcohol. I don't believe the patron was overserved, but I do think that when checking the tickets (again, this was 6 years ago), be more cautious of the drunkies!
Staff was very accommodating and helpful! Bathrooms were updated and clean. Fun venue to catch a show! Beer is pricey though.
Been many times. Pay to go upstairs, great view, great bar, and bathroom upstairs.
Two words ....Donell Stallings funny man great show nice venue!
Great venue, nice service and Badflower was mint...
It's still there after 30years since I've been in St Andrews hall. Looks the same. Thank you
I remember going to this concert venue a year ago to go and see Witt Lowry preform. The ticket prices weren't that bad ($40), however it was somewhat crowded downstairs. It also got extremely hot down in that basement, so I think that there needs to be more ventilation. This was my 1st concert, so I can't compare it to other venues, but I know that some venues are outdoors, so I thought there was going to be somewhat of a ventilation system inside at least, but no. The venue is a very safe place to have a concert because they always have security checking people in and monitoring the place. It's also a safe place to park too because the parking areas are gated. I'm not a drinker, but they have a selection of adult beverages to choose from. I wish they had more non-alcohol beverages to choose from like pop. I liked how the venue lights inside changed every single time a song played giving each song its own ambiance and mood. I also liked how the music equipment (speakers & microphones) worked for the entry artist and the main artist. It's great that this place is known for having famous musicians play at, however I think it needs to be improved upon in areas.
Line to get in took forever! But...once inside great venue for a intimate concert experience. Get the balcony if you want to sit at all. Not a bad seat anywhere in the balcony section.
Broke my ankle seeing For The Fallen Dreams, worth it. Good beer, security guards helped me out of the pit and made sure I got around safely the rest of the night. Would gladly come back.
Really enjoyed the show there. Very nice old venue with awesome air conditioning! The only thing I didn't like was walking on top of bunch of empty aluminum beer cans. People dropped them all over the floor. They had barrel's to put them in but no one bothered. They should just pour everything in cups or have someone clean them up during the show. They were everywhere. I will just wear my boots next time.
Small venue. Basically an old basketball gym. Has a small balcony around the the outside of the room. Standing room only.
Amazing venue, very intimate. The shelter is also unbelievable. Would recommend to anyone, if you can catch a show at either, be sure to go. You won't be disappointed
The shelter is the best place to see your favorite artist.
Pretty cool venue in downtown Detroit. I parked at Beaumont, it was close to and the hood was ok. If you don t buy their fast pass, you will have to wait outside. The sound quality was nice, just minor glitches during the show. There s a fancy place on the second floor if you don t want to stand all night!
While the venue itself is great, the even itself (RAW) left something to be desired
Went to the Shelter in the basement. Amazing show, staff was so nice and professional and the acts were on time!!!
Awesome venue to see shows. The inside is very clean and well staffed. I appreciate the amount of security they have working there. The smoking area is a bit of a hike down stairs but there isn't much they can do to change that.
I'd like to see a show from the balcony one of these days to see what that's like. The womens bathroom was very clean and nice. Overall this is one of my favorite smaller capacity venues.
Decent venue, very beautiful. Sound usually is very poor however which is unfortunate
Love this place, country concerts get crazy here. Seen Kane Brown and the 93.1 country Christmas concert and they where very nice at the door and the place was clean.
The venue is fantastic. As we're the acts. The sound was terrible. Bass and kick bass made Ian Noe sound terrible. Marcus King Band also had sound issues (i.e. bass and kick drum too loud, fuzzy vocal mics). The talent was definitely there. Despite the sound issues, both acts impressed. But I saw many lose interest in Ian Noe because of the bad sound engineering. At one point in the show Marcus King commented about being able to afford good mics. They changed his vocal much and it was immediately an improvement. Come on St. Andrews!
Great venue. Air conditioned. Outdoor smoking section. Second venue in the basement. Offers handicap and VIP seating. Two bars along the side of the main floor. Reasonable drink prices. Security check before entering. I had a great time here. Parking is close by.
Great venue! The band is always so close and accessible here. One of my favorite places to go to shows.
Historic place to catch any kind of concert or event. Beer selection is a bit limited, but the Shelter in the basement tends to have a better selection at times.
The venue was way too small to host the crowd that GWAR pulls in but the staff (especially security) owned it! Very strict, but more so; very fair when it comes to patrons and altercations.
Great place to see a concert. You are incredibly close to the act. Everything is general admission but if you don't want to stand on the floor, you can pay extra and get a seat in the balcony. Worth the $
Very nice Club 3 levels bar upstairs and down with a couple Lounge areas. tonight was a silent party and was most definitely lit I highly recommend this place for your Friday and Saturday nights. Drinks aren't overpriced either, mixed crowd of people everybody had fun
This place is getting better and better these guys have really stepped up their sound quality definitely a good place to go for a concert now.
Wouldn't let people back in for the last few songs after having a smoke. Concert continued 15 minutes after we were done smoking. Not cool.
