You need a decent seat to enjoy the acoustics, but that inevitably involves parting with some serious money. The venue is very spartan in nature with a lack of handrails in certain high rise seats.
The food on offer ( at ridiculous prices ) is pretty rank. Avoid the pizza bar at all costs.
The wine on offer should be done under the trade description act.
Nice staff, very polite. Entry and exit to the venue was really Easy
Don't go unless you are on the first level you may as well watch the video of the artist at home I would question health and safety
Reasonable place... very poor multi story..can be stuck in there for over an hour trying to get out!
Huge but with excellent organisation, good enviroment
An ugly place with the appearance of communist eastern European architecture inside. Overpriced terrible beer.
Well sign posted so event easy to find. No seating area unless using restaurant.
Excellent live music and shows venue. About a 20 minute walk from Glasgow city centre
Superb, the acoustics are surreal. Staff very friendly.
Fantastic atmosphere. We'll designed so everyone can see the stage. Just an odd experience knowing we would be last ones at that kind of event for a while to come
Went to see The Australian Pink Floyd show and it is an amazing venue.
We had level/tier 3 seats and still had a fantastic view.
The acoustics in the SSE Hydro were some of the best I have heard, again being very high up we could hear perfectly and every word sung which was amazing.
I would definitely come back to see a music performance here again!
Great venue and atmosphere at Katy Perry, good view of stage from all seats.
Very hectic when going to big event , search wasn't tough enough for my peice of mind but security did a good job considering the amount of people there. The stewards were very helpful in helping people find their seats ect. Sound ECT even away up back is great however down side for us was the bar. Loads of people had clearly been drinking before hand whilst we hadn't been and were wanting to take a few drinks into the performance however they limited it to 1 drink per ID although you could simply join the que again and buy another seemed rather silly to me. On top of that expect HUGE waits to get to the bar. I think they need to rethink the system to cater for so many people perhaps a token system. Overall our night was ok and I would go back but expect it to be hectic.
Fab venue for any concert . Easy place to travel to . Walking accessible from Glasgow City Centre.
Saw 2 shows recently. Alice Cooper, sound for support band the Tubes was poor, sound for main support The Mission was good & sound for Alice Cooper was spot on & very loud! Deep Purple, sound for all 3 bands including support bands Cats In Space & Europe was superb! Venue is fantastic! Lots of room, drink & food prices not out of this world like London venues and even better is the fact that there's virtually no waiting in queues to be served as the outlets are very well staffed. Also everyone from security to bar staff and attendants are very welcoming & helpful. Really hope it continues to be like this. Top night out!
Terrible place !!, extremely over priced and disgusting food and drink , so much food waste , 0 contract slave workers , big corporate American run Business, The shame and disgrace of Glasgow! Capitalism at its worst !
First time at the venue and was awe struck at how well it was laid out and the acoustics were top notch.
Good for concerts, food drinks ect are too over priced it's ridiculous!
Love concerts here, food great in the Hydro Club. Friendly staff, well organised.
We Love The 90's!!!!!! Excellent night. The drop off point is way too far away from the door though. We live in Scotland. A walk in the rain in December isn't fun!!!
Huge venue, beautifully built, bonus points for the ceiling looking like the death star from the inside.
Great venue easy to reach from city. A short walk back after gigs.
The seating is horrendous, puts you off going here.. security staff who don't know how to conduct themselves in a professional manner! Myself and my niece were told to "go and sober up because we were singing!?" I've never been so embarrassed! I walk with sticks and we were having a laugh. On speaking to us said we were drunk!? Iam on heavy medication that I can't drink on, wasn't arguing as we wouldn't have got in, but on exit I made for the security guard who pulled us to the side, and gave her a peace of my mind. How dare they judge a person like that! So guys don't sing going into the venue!!!
My wife and I were at the Hydro to see the Steamie. The staff on the door were very helpful and polite. The section that our seats were supposed to be in was closed so we were shown down to the booking office and issued with new seats
Good accoustics in such a large venue. Good food and drinjs options.
The service was great. That staff were professional and curtious. Loved the venue
Consert was great...security second to none ..beer yummy
Shows and acoustics are some of the best in Glasgow, however the venue is let down by terrible layout and logistics. Long queues at bars, and misleading gates which redirect you to the busiest areas mean it is necessary to arrive very early.
A number of the seats at the extreme sides of the stage do not allow full views of the shows and are to be avoided.
Great venue. Seating is spacious and toilets clean. Food is expensive but tastes good
Lovely venue although an awful lot of stairs to climb. No lift service to seats at the top
Great night but spoiled by cretans holding up phones and tablets to film show
Good sound, okay seating, a lot of staff around, shame the stage couldn't be a little higher
Great venue, Glasgow is way ahead in Scotland for gigs.
I've been multiple times and the sound quality is so bad you can barely tell which song is playing. Only reason I'm giving the venue 2 stars instead of 1 is because if you are in the standing area near the stage, the sound is fine.
The size of the venue is fantastic; with the way it's built the acoustics of the room are superb and you can hear acts playing from the front all the way to the seated level 2 tiers perfectly clear. I have recently saw Kendrick Lamar here, More
On a personal level for the evening, it is an exciting venue for medium-sized performances held in an optimal manner and with a myriad of services in perfect British style
Toilets are not very clearly marked and disabled access only to certain levels. Seating is close together so I'd the person in front if you stand up you cannot see anything. You have to purchase drinks from them which is over priced. Not everyone drinks alcohol!
Such a awesome place wish we could visit more often for gigs and events
