Very good restoration. A great learning experience...

Very good restoration. A great learning experience.
Very good show on the lower deck how the ship was traveling. Natural dolls and animals in some places. Exciting for the whole family.
Had a fantastic time both on and off the big boat! Would not recommend to anyone about 6'1" though.
An excellent exhibit and museum. The ship has been restored to a good condition with life like rooms added. A lot of original items remain. There is also a good museum to Brunel himself and his work.
Great place to go for a day out you will remember. Most people think that families and children will be the main target audience for this attraction but they are wrong, anyone can visit here no matter what age. All the different rooms and decorations really make you feel like you are in a Victorian atmosphere while roaming the ship. The mechanics of the ship and all the quarters are excellent and even the dock museum is quite fascinating. Overall an amazing historical experience that everyone enjoys.
Very well set up for adults and children of all ages. Staff are very helpful and well informed. Not to be missed when in Bristol.
Quite interesting but only needs a couple of hours to go around it
Museum and ship and other expos. Good for kids and adults. Nice setting with access to docks.
Fantastic!
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Always a pleasure to visit this historic ship and even better that the ticket bids you unlimited entry for a year! Be sure to check out the Go Aloft activity.
Really interesting afternoon with a great little cafe by the harbour easy to park to
Only had a few hours so couldn't see everything but on my ticket can go back again during the next year anytime to finish off. Well worth a look
SS Great Britain is a interesting ship to visit, very educational and enjoyable. Tickets last for a year.
Well worth the money only down side is the parking, need to get there early. And spend the whole day there. We paid for 4 hours parking and you get half back on purchasing a ticket in, but went back to put more money for a longer time, it would only let you put in 3 pounds for 2 hours parking but 3 pound should by you 3 hours. Other people had the same problem. But we enjoyed the whole experience and want to go back again on our year long ticket.
Learn about the great grandmother of every metal ship on the seas at the very place she was designed and built in the very hip city of Bristol
Went to the spooky ship night for Halloween and was actually quite scared. I screamed and ran at one point .
Will be back to walk around the ship in the daytime but it was very well kept and informative and interesting and the event itself was really good.
As many of the other reviews say, this is a highlight of the visit to Bristol. We are together without children, but this was great. Realistically recreated everything and that gives the entire ship a perfect idea of how things were going on a trip to America at the time. Volunteers who work there are happy to tell you everything that can be found everywhere. Certainly do!
Fabulous. Spent 4 hours here with friends and still think we could have stayed longer. Great thing is that the tickets can be re-used and last for 12 months
Very nice experience. Reproduction with attention to the smallest details. Highly recommended.
The ship is certainly beautiful but so expensive to get in to view it, that we didn't. We had a look around the shop. Some lovely articles to buy. Plenty of other good sights to see in the harbour. And if you walk around the harbour to the other side you can get good views of the ship.
There no ropes or things hidden off behind perspex, so you can actually get close and see almost every part. The way they have brought it back to life is 5 star. Also, great disabled access to all parts, without ruining the feel of the ship. Brilliant, highly recommend.
Too slow serving coffee in the cafe and getting a ticket
Great day out with lots of interesting things to see
Great location to learn of historical history of Bristol.
Interesting experience for both adults and children! You get to know lots of facts about Brunel and England's history in an entertaining and funny way
So much to see, could not take it all in on one visit, going back soon.
An amazing step back in time to see British engineering at it best from a bygone age a superb experience of a beautiful ship highly recommend
Great setup on the tour! Visit the dry dock first, then the museum of the ship, then the ship itself. Finally, if you haven't had enough, take a trip to the brunel museum in the end.
Great place to go to, a must see if you're visiting Bristol. the noises and smells in the kitchen area are a great touch, get a sense of what it was like. I tried opening a door to a toilet and it was occupied by a really angry guy, sorry mate, scared the bejeezus out of me! Another great touch. And the fact that you can return a few times for no extra charge within a year, think that's correct, is a bonus, well worth the money in the long run. So much to see, go early on in the day.
It seemed a bit expensive, but it was really interesting and considering you can go back as many times as you like for a year, it's not bad value really. It's very nicely restored and the surrounding buildings are full of interesting stuff too. Excellent food at the cafe outside and lots of other things to see and do by the river.
A very impressive boat, a realistic and high quality restoration. The museum adjoining the building has a very well-designed scenography. A visit not to be missed, explanations and staged developments make this visit very fluid and very educational. Ideal for young audience.
Thoroughly enjoyed today's outing. Amazing how it's been restored and you get a great feel of how it was back in the day
Fantastic for kids with a really well thought out FREE activity pack.
Nice trip and reasonably priced- good for a family
A fantastic piece of local and social history brought to life. Really well put together with sights, sounds and even smells of how life onboard would have like. Well serviced and accessible to young and old, with lifts, signage, helpful staff and ramps.
Great day out for the whole family, loads to see and do
The ship has been rebuilt very well both in the exterior and in the interior.
It's history preserved to perfection, I love it here
Was interesting seeing how people lived on the ship. Also a good view of the river.
The ship with new propeller design that changed the world.
Realty good museum. Ticket includes access to the new Brunel Museum which is well worth a visit. Very helpful staff who are knowledgable on their subject.
A must see if you are in Bristol. If you enjoy a cruise then see how it used to be done. An engineering triumph.
Good value - years ticket. Lots to do for all ages.
So much to see! And free returns for a year! Well worth a visit!
Great ship, with interesting history. Bob the tour guide was fantastic. Had a bit of an issue with us having paid corkage and the staff keeping our alcohol locked away and not letting us access, but was resolved on the night.
Love this place. The ticket is expensive but it allows you to come back anytime for a year. There is so many things to see in it. The inside is incredible and you can really imagine how they lived on the boat. I have learned so many things there. The museum is awesome as well. Will recommend 100%!!
Great historic destination - informative and interesting. You can view the boat from 'under the waves' as well as checking out the passenger accommodation from opulent First Class to cramped and smelly Steerage. Well worth a visit. They also have special events on throughout the year the Victorian Xmas 2017 is on 09-10 Dec check online for other/more info.
Great place to visit for all ages with an added bonus of paying once and being able to return as many times as you like for 12 months. Lots to see and learn with plenty of interactive activities. To see everything and experience all on offer will take 3-6 hours so we'll worth the entry fee. A must for any and all.
Great place to visit with the kids. Really informative and well done.
To see but expensive for what it is. An old ship to which a story has been revived. If we have that to do why not
Beautiful ship and fascinating museum. Very visitor friendly. Tickets valid for a year so we've already been back. We look forward to another visit in the Spring, so much to see. Dockyard Cafe also recommended. You can pop out for lunch, then back to the ship. Very convenient car park.
Brilliant day out. Plenty to see and learn. Everyone in the party enjoyed themselves
Exceeded expectations. Great for children and adults alike
This seemed expensive, but after doing the full tour, definitely worth every penny! Highly recommend.
Very detailed reconstruction of the first propeller steam boat. It is worth it and with more children. The most spectacular, being able to walk around the keel of the boat
Truly amazing. The care and dedication and expense that has been spent to restore this ship is clearly apparent. You need to have a few hours for this.
The authentic smells, my goodness! In the kitchen of the ship and elsewhere there is not just the visual recreation of the furniture and tools.
Well worth a look.
