So much to see with lots of interactive exhibits for kids (big and small). The new extension is great and you get to go inside the mind of the man himself! Also as of today Isambard's go free!!!

Not only a historical ship, but also a educational museum. There are some introductions about "her" and technology in the dock. Inside the ship, there has been decorated to show how people lived that time. There were not many tourists, but I think this is totally worth a visit.

Great ship, you can walk underneath, on the deck, and inside to the lower levels. Very atmospheric. Well maintained and renovated. Lots of friendly helpful staff. Cafe and shop on site. Car park nearby. Or you can get a ferry.

Had a great day out, lots of interesting history about the SS Great Britain. Best thing is once you buy your tickets they are valid for a year. So you can revisit as many times as you like. Plenty to keep the kids entertained. Lovely cafe as well!!

Great

Wasn't expecting to enjoy it like that.
The museum part in the boat is full of life (use the audio guide it s part of the experience).
It is a perfect window on our past.

An absolutely fantastic place to visit, for both young and old alike. Lots of recent history displays. Accessibility is also excellent, with a lift to all levels. Allow the whole day, you won't be disappointed!

Interesting visit It allows you to get to the idea of how life should have been on board the ship when it was active, traveling around the world on its trips to Australia. The audio guide is included at the entrance and it is valid for one year. However it is a bit complicated to follow an organized itinerary and not leave anything to see.

Once of the best museum experiences I've ever had the pleasure of embarking on. Outweighed all expectations. Class from start to finish. Recommended starting at the museum before boarding the ship; and don't leave without seeing the drydock.

Lots of car parking close by (not free). Really bad traffic congestion in Bristol due to major roadworks that will go on for a while.

The ship and visitor centre are all very good. There has been a serious attempt to recreate the period using mannequins and audio recordings.

The onsite cafe is good, reasonable, vegetarian selection and well located next to the river.

Wow! Excellent this visit, I did not expect that at all (very ill-informed I thought of going to visit a warship whose visit would have been boring!). But not at all. There are 3 parts to the visit, first "underneath", that is to say that we can go around the hull in the dry dock, then the museum, very well documented and finally we arrive on the boat , with the highlight of the show, the whole interior reconstituted with classes, cabins, kitchens, ... There are reproductions of life scenes, with very realistic models who go about their business, there are even the smells and the sounds! Do not miss, children will love ad plan at least 2h-2h30!

Great museum for a great ship. Set in the dock that was used to build the ship the main attraction is of course the world's first iron ship but situated around are different buildings focused on it's history and of Brunel himself.
A solid 2 to 3 hours enjoyment.
