Beautiful ship with authentic aromas in the kitchen, cold store & laundry. The new Visitor Centre is superb, an amazing wealth of Brunel memorabilia and objects. Well worth a visit. Inspiring.

Excellent museum attraction for a day out, with much to see and learn about Brunel. The ship is an impressive feat of engineering and has a remarkable story of its active life and its rescue and return to Bristol in the 1970s after a hundred years in the high seas. A great insight into the vessel and to Brunel the engineer.

A lovingly restored example of marine history with incredible attention to detail. The information boards provide a fascinating tale of the ships exploits, whilst the recreations inside specific areas of the ship provides a feel of life on board in the 19th century. An excellent cafe is located on the Dockside for refreshments after the visit.

Fascinating visit. I was impressed with how they have done the dry dock and also laid out the ship with recreations and real artifacts rather than leave it empty like other exhibitions often do. The museums about the ship itself and Brunel are also excellent. A really good few hours.

Really well done museum. Adult entry is a little on the expensive side.

A ticket allows repeat visits within a year, but as a tourist are you going to return?

Tip: when purchasing a ticket, provide the name of someone else, so that they can use use your ticket! There are no id checks when purchasing only when returning for a repeat visit.

On the one hand, this was a nice day out. But then, I didn't really enjoy all of it; some parts were definitely more enjoyable than others.

It seemed to be a much bigger focus on the history (which I do understand is nice) and they were almost trying to ensure you AVOIDED going on the boat for that long at all. In my opinion, the Brunel museum on site was much more interesting then the dry dock or the main ship history point.

The staff were nice when you approached them, but sometimes they did seem to just be standing there.

I'm not saying don't visit; I'm just saying I didn't really like it!

This is the wonderful ship that first departed from Bristol and designed by esteemed Engineer Brunel.

The ship is based at the docklands area of the city. It has been restored magnificently with a key feature bring the glass reservoir under which the helm sits to keep the bottom part of the ship from rusting.
There is a lift down to enable disabled access and those with pushchairs etc

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. There are so many rooms inside! You get a real feel for what it must have been like on a ship like that in that time period. There is a nice restaurant right at the entrance. The area was well kept. There was even a place on the ship that allowed you to climb the riggings with safety equipment. I didn't do it but someone braver than me might find it pretty exciting. We had a really nice day exploring the area. We took the ferry across the harbor which was nice as well.

Nice

A little pricey be there is more there than you'd expect. Had a great visit and enjoyed our look through. We'll be back for another wonder around next time we're in Bristol as the tickets last all year.

Fascinating insight into the history of the ship, Brunel and the stories of the passengers who used the ship. Have been before - unfortunately the audio guides with the passengers' stories are no longer available, however, the displays are interactive and the new Being Brunel exhibition is a great experience and a good value addition to the ticket price. Lots to do for kids and very friendly and helpful staff. Cafe next door is also excellent value and good for kids. Ticket price gets you free return visits for a year and if you buy online in advance, you get 5% off. There is also a money back offer on the car park next door: show the voucher and part of your parking fee is returned. Recommended for all visitors to Bristol.

A lot of fun. Pretty cool view to be able to see the underside of the ship and walk the halls of the ship and even see some of the working of the engine. Its been decked out like it would have been when it was in use so you can see what it would have been like. Definitely worth a visit. Without or without kids

Brilliant attraction, plenty to see, laid out very well, nice interactive parts to keep children, and adults, amused. Disabled access was fantastic, far better than other attractions of its type. Bonus that the ticket lasts a year so we will return to see what we ran out of time for to begin with. Cafe offering wasn't great, I'm sure that they could do more here. Shop was good with prices being fairly reasonable. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

A stunning ship.

A stunning ship.
You can just about go every where on-board.
It is a tad pricey but this includes the museum as well.

Well worth a visit.

If you are into history prepare to be overwhelmed. This ship turned museum was well ahead of its time when it first set sail. If the name Brunel is familiar to you, then you are aware of the famous Bristol suspension bridge that was designed by Brunel. You will have an opportunity to look/inspect the hull and see what is being done to delay the rusting (It is hermitically sealed and kept at a low relative humidity by blowing dry, warm air directly onto the hull). Through diaries, the living quarters have been recreated to show what passengers bunks and storage looked like (a lot different that todays modern cruise ships). Before entering the ship, there is a very interesting library that also has museum type exhibits on display. When we were there, we saw people dressed in period costumes (like Brunel) available to answer questions as well as volunteers knowledgeable about the ship. I am sure that you can google the history of the ship before or after your visit. Well worth spending several hours in this drydocked museum.

Fascinating place to visit: the ship itself with various levels to explore and also the museum around the site. Great outdoor views from the deck. Good to know: the ticket gives you unlimited entry for a year. Highly recommended. We'll come back for sure with friends and family.

I haven't been there yet. I'm sure it's great. BUT WHY don't they provide a CLEAR MAP on the web showing how to cross the river to get to it by ferry????? Absolutely crazy. And some guide to timetables. Hopefully, we'll get to see it in the morning. Typical.
