We should thank people who made it possible to see the ship inside out and to imagine how people travel. So much work and effort!

Incredibly well presented museum. Very educational with a bit of humor rolled in now and then.
Really cool and interactive, lots to learn, great for kids
Impressive piece of English history well told for all ages
Fantastic restoration. I'd allow 3 hours to see the ship, museum & the new Brunel building too.
Great slice of history and so beautiful to see up close.
A fun museum where you can touch anything you can get to. Interesting and enjoyable. The tickets also last for a year so you can reuse them!
Probably one of my favourite ever museum experiences. Interesting, varied, interactive. Took us nearly 2.5 hours
Brilliant! Fun, educational, interactive full day out!
Passionate staff sharing history of this amazing ship!!
Very interesting history of this ship. If you're stuck for something to do or need an afternoon out of bad weather, go here!
We were lucky that it wasn't very busy and could take our time looking at everything.
An amazing ship and it story! Enjoyable amenities with gift shop and cafe. An absorbing afternoon at the confluence of maritime and English history.
Brilliant place to visit! So much to see and the interactive experience is great for children and adults! Totally recommend heading there. You will need to book in advance as you can't buy tickets on the day.
Its nice but you need to purchase the ticket to see that fully.
Definitely a 'must visit' indeed a 'must visit again'. The tickets are valid for one year and that is helpful as it would be impossible to cover all in a single visit.
Splendidly assembled and presented.
My daughter and I visited in 2015. We believe we encountered ghosts on the audio tour where a woman travelling with her sons were staying behind the engineer's cabin. The women's son was hurt on the voyage and died. As my daughter walked into the cabin, she immediately backed out of the room and the door closed as she was backing up towards me. The hair on the back of my neck stood on end and I aksed her if anyone was in there and my daughter turned and said, "nope" and she kept walking! It was amazing! We went to England with the sole purpose of visiting this vessel which was one of the many highlights of our trip. I want to go back and spend more time there. Just wonderful!
Fantastic day out.... Will be returning again on my ticket ! The kids loved it ...
This was great value for money to view work of a real hero of his time. It's impossible to really get it into full perspective as all the great man's work was done without the aid of a computer and the assistance of other examples around him.
The actual exhibition was first class with everything taken into consideration for adults and children alike. There was plenty of interaction for children as they often become bored at museums and exhibitions as they find reading uninteresting, however the designer of this exhibition ensured there is enough to keep them interested (along with the adults) throughout.
Brilliant family day out. You can use the same ticket to return again for up to a year.
Though it was displayed well, very enjoyable for children to see how things was on a ship like this.
New museum very well presented. Also easy to access with wheelchair or walker. Staff very helpful
Really good museum, lots to see. We only allowed two hours to look around and that wasn't enough time
Fantastic experience of seeing this amazing nearly two hundred years old ship, back to where she started her maiden voyage.
The restoration of this ship is mind blowing, from the top to the bottom, with interactive thing's too entertain all ages.
SO really a well worth spend, meaning that you can go back to check out all of the things you missed.
The inside has real smells of all the different places you visit, and fantastic volunteers who do a marvellous job of keeping the history and intriguing sights and sounds alive.
Try the immersive theatre experience, the nearest thing you get to the feeling of real steam and coal rushing out at you.
They have excellent facilities to cater for everyone, with top notch disability features and access.
So dont take my word for it, go on and have a great day for all.
Maritime Museum very well presented. The visit of the SS Great Britain is worth the trip by its reconstructed scenes and the visit of the hull "under the sea level". Tickets valid for one year.
We had an amazing day out! Great place and will definitely be back!
Amazing experience. How thinks were in 19th century.
Had a lovely few hours looking round the museum and the ship. Very interesting.
Amazing exhibition experience. The staff are both knowledgeable and friendly. I have not seen a better historical exhibition than this. Spent over three hours here and didn't even notice the time. Tickets are valid for a year so you can go as often as you want.
Impressive place to spend a few hours; engaging and informative Thoroughly enjoyed by myself and friends Worth buying tickets online to avoid queues on busy days.
I.K. Brunel was one of Britain's most innovative engineers, and of course associated with Bristol. This ship was among his great achievements, and after an eventful life, was rescued from near oblivion to be beautifully restored and displayed in realistic surroundings. Floating in a false but realistic glass sea, you can explore its hull as well as its deck, engines, and living quarters. I challenge anyone to be disappointed with this visit
Allow plenty of time to make the most of your visit. Good value for money.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Exploring the ship is realny fascinating, there are many rooms that you have to find yourself. You can touch the objects of the ship s equipment which make you engaged in the experience of visiting it. The place is definitely children-friendly, there are many activities for kids. The only disadvantage is that during hot days it s really steamy inside.
Excellent museum, good day out if going to Bristol
Brunel's historic ship is a must see when in Bristol. You can visit the exterior of the ship both above & below the water line, and the interior above & below decks. In addition there are two museums, animations, a gift shop and tea room. The whole site has been thoughtfully laid out and is very, very interesting. It's well worth a visit for young and old alike.
My favorite museum in Bristol! The balance of text and images/pieces is amazing and it's super interactive. Children (and us the adults who never grew up) will find a lots of activities to do. One ticket allows multiple visits, so I'm deffo going again!
Excellent exhibit!
Very well presented and with knowledgable staff everywhere who love to tell stories about the ship and Brunel.
The ship itself is beautifully restored and the exhibit in the surrounding buildings is full of entertaining and insightful elements. There are also personal letters and diaries from Brunel himself, as well as fantastic paintings, illustrations and footage of the recovery of the ship in the 1970's (an incredible job).
We had planned to spend perhaps 2 hours there but ended up spending most of the day. The beauty is: your ticket is valid for a whole year!
Wonderful ship, a must visit for all ages - would go again
The connection with Brunel and the S.S Great Britain, plus the dock area.
It's is more than just a docked ship it's part of our national identity.
A great 2 hours. Well signed and easy access for a buggy.
This is a mind blowing attraction. Really clever and enough to keep adults and children fully engaged for a few hours. The rats in the kitchen and the butcher were hilarious and disgusting. More than worth the ticket price. Really looking forward to the opening of the adjoining Brunel museum.
Excellent piece of British history that although we thought was a bit pricey to enter we realise that it was a bargain, really enjoyed everything about the place
Half Term fun...not the first time visiting and won't be the last. This is so interesting and fun for the whole family great educational value!
The visit is worth the asking price.
The boat is extremely interesting, and the museum well built.
2h visit well used.
Well worth a visit .a good three hours to see everthing .
Beautiful old ship, I think the only one with a male name. Worth seeing, especially considering it was sailed to the US.
Great place to visit for kids and adults. The Great Britain is a fascinating recreation of the ship in it's heyday and also the life and work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel is celebrated and explained at all levels. Great fun and great learning.
Fantastic ship with an incredible history. Such s good day out and the tickets last for a year. Well worth it.
Visited the Historic ship after a Caravan Club Question Time in the morning
My parents have been on the ss great Britain twice, and great piece of local history, over the last decade Bristol has got alot cleaner and a nicer place to visit. Definitely worth a visit, I recently had a short trip through the docks on a ship called The Mathew, also worth a look.
Well worth a visit, loads to see and do and really realistic
Very well put together exhibition, very informative and a pleasure to visit. Will visit again.
A Great educational attraction, keeps both the kids and adults interested.
A fantastic place. Full of history and interest. Outstanding when Ragged Victorians pay a visit. Ship is amazing.
I would defiantly recommend this museum, very interesting and educative. One of Bristol's top must see attractions!
far exceeded my expectations! the visit is really interesting also if you don't have a specific interest in maritime or engineer history. if you have though, this it's really an amazing source of information!
from the iron riveting techniques to the propeller first tests. And of course the specially designed steam engine.
also my daughter, 3 years old, enjoyed the visit with the farm animal on the bridge, the reconstruction of first and second class cabins etc.
the cafe was also nice and with a tasty selection.
finally the museum was informative on the whole IKB career and inventions.
Really puts you in the ambience of the time period, with the imitation of odours, the figures and all the props. Love the museum, the boat simulation, propeller simulation and the dress up section especially. Also, a really lovely boat.
This is a stunning restoration. A fantastic museum that gives a full history of the SS Great Britain without being over wordy. The whole family was full absorbed whilst touring all the floors and taking in this sights, sounds and smells. We would have spent longer here but had to go. However the ticket is open ended for a year so we will be back. We all learnt a lot today so overall this is a fantastic value museum. Please give this place a go.
