Really fab. They've made sure it's really interesting. It's not just an old boat!
Great place to spend the day both as a family and on your own. The audio guide is free if you ask for it at the entrance. The staff is very friendly, they give talks during the day and they are characterized as in the time. The theme and how everything is mounted transports you completely in time.
Very nice, the museum, the story, the ship, you don't have Time to get bored.
Great place to visit. Loads to see & experience. Super displays with fake people to show what life on the ship was like. Authentic food smells. Can access all of the ship & even walk underneath to see the bottom of the ship too. Really great!
Whole experience was awesome. Knowing about the ship that changed the ship building is educational. Every small detail is maintained well.
Best museum I have been to . The care and information that is abundant throughout the exhibit is second to non. Add to this pleasant and courteous staff it's well worth the visit
Absolutely loved it. Really thought it would be okay, maybe a little boring, but it is honestly so cool. And the ticket lasts a whole year, so will definitely be going again soon!
Really interesting, not cheap but the tickets last a year.
The ship is incredible and the staff team are brilliant too. Can't recommend this attraction highly enough.
Ticket valid for 12 months. You get really up close and personal to this great ship.
A superb way to spend some time. Lots to see and marvel at. Inside and out, above and below.
Nice day out Realy enjoyed the Boat. It was a bit unclean in places however it is a very old boat. When you but the ticket you have to buy it for a year so can't go back, not so usefull if your just visiting bristol as a one off, however if your intersted in the history I would definatly give it i hit very imforative signs and some nice scenes as well.
The ship and the whole area is a good day out. Great
Absolutely excellent place to visit. So much work gone into this.
The best the most amazing attraction the ship is so lovely and lots of history
If you are visiting Bristol, then the SS Great Britain of not to be missed. Plan enough time to take it all in.
Fantastic ship with lots of history surrounding it.
Wonderful day out for a school trip the guide was super
access good, very enjoyable visit. see my vlog about this place and other locations on YT. I use a scooter so it is sometimes difficult.
A real piece of history, with interesting exhibitions both about the ship and Brunel himself.
We had a fabulous family day out at SS Great Britain and the Being Brunel museum. It was very child friendly and we were surprised by how much there was to explore. We were here for about 4 hours and could easily have stayed longer. There was so much to look at and it was very educational. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day out. The SS great Britain was also accessible by pushchair, which made it great for my toddler too.
We also enjoyed tea and cake in the cafe and couldn't fault it. The service was great. The gift shop is delightful too, with all kinds of souvenirs on offer.
Great family day out! Plenty to see and do. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Always a fantastic trip to this world class attraction and iconic ship - this Christmas we were treated with a host of Victorian personalities - volunteers that bring the atmosphere of the old dock to life. A must see attraction and the best living maritime museum in the world.
Well preserved ship. It is bigger than you expect on the inside.
Entrance is a little big expensive, but there's Student discount and you can reuse it for one year.
A very well thought out exhibition. Much more to it than I imagined.
Very interesting with a good historical talk which was excellent value for the entrance fee.
All the good things other people have said about this experience are true. Go there, do it!
A great time was had here. Excellent ship and museums. Loads of history. Excellent gift shop and a nice cafe. Pleasant and friendly staff. Another one we'll go back to.
This is so interesting! Absolutely loved being on the ship, in the ship and under the ship !
We arrived here on the Belmont Pullman very informative staff and accommodating to me with a walking stick Not enough time spent here as we as we had to catch the train back. Will revisit by car to complete the wonderful experience .
Absolutely Amazing! So much to do and see. Staff and volunteers knowledgeable and helpful. A must see place to visit.
Great place to spend day with the family. The ship is huge. The interior of the ship is very detailed, showing every aspect of life on ship (even smels). Outside the ship there is a gift shop, museums, coffee shops.
I remember as a child a rusting hulk rafted home to Bristol. I watched her being towed under the suspension bridge and for years saw the slow transformation as I went along Hotwells on Saturday mornings until I was 15 and then every day as I went to school. That rusting hulk is now a first class heritage site. A fantastic achievement to bring her home at all, before you step aboard. Absolute must do.
Excellent attraction. Plenty to keep kids and adults interested. Great stories.
For along time now I have wanted to visit this ship and as usual with it been one Brunel's designs it didn't fail. What a great man.
5 stars - great experience, very impressive restoration of this historical ship.
The displays inside the ship with waxworks really illustrate well what it might have been like to tavel on this ship. A huge difference between first class and steerage. Amazing to learn this ship has been around the world 33 times! The Brunel museum on the same site was also really interesting to find out more about the man. Sad to hear he passed away in his 50's, before the Clifton Suspension bridge was complete.
We spent 3 hours in total at the museum with kids 6 & 10. Parked nearby at the museum car park - note you'll get a discount on parking if you show your ticket at the museum. Allso note the Banksy Girl with Pearl Earing is in walking distance.
I'm in awe of Brunel when you see and hear what a magnificent ship this is a guy way ahead of his time the centre has people dressed in costume of that era too lots to see
This was a 2nd visit using the ticket that lasts a year. There is so much to see because the Brunel museum alongside the ship is part of the visit. Everything is well presented and interesting.
Parking is pay and display,.pay once visit again free for a whole year
All the staff are fantastic, the boat staff handled everyone with care and diplomacy and Eleanor and Jessfrom the gift shop helped us get a cab home. They really went beyond the call for us. Well run events with staff who know their onions.
Incredible to think this great treasure was almost lost forever. The ship's restoration, museums & dry dock are a must see for anyone interested in history & innovation.
Amazing experience, sights and sounds and smells of back in the day. Can buy a ticket for the year so you can visit as often as you want. Very good gift shop. Right on the harbour with lovely pubs
Museum worth the ticket price. I'll be back there someday.
Would recommend to anyone, young or older. A truly great experience, informative and so very well presented. The reality of the conditions that people had to endure at sea in this era are put across very well both visually and atmospherically (smelly in places!), not forgetting the sheer genius that was Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Lots of activities for the children, and a climb up into the rigging if you're brave enough!
A good day out. A shame Bristol is so unwelcoming to campervan and motorhome drivers (no way we could have traveled here by car as its a 400 mile round trip). Couldn't even get into P&R to get bus in due to height barriers.
Amazing! Worth every penny! Allow yourself 3 hours to fully appreciate the excellent exhibition, the boat itself and the Brunel museum.
The details of the various scenes on the ship, are incredible! 4D experience!
I strongly recommend it. Not with toddlers though as they would spoil your own enjoyment!
Well-maintained ambience, takes a good couple of hours.
Surprisingly good place to visit, the layout is well thought out and there are some great details hidden.
Nice visit, the boat was designed by the same one who built the Clifton bridge, although the suspension bridge did better because the ship was the first to make the trip to Australia on steam, and four or five times that made it half it spoiled them, so they decided to leave it "parked", and now it's a lucrative business for the generations after the time, well, like everything here, very lucrative for them
Great exhibit. I spent nearly three hours here. If you have time to spare in Bristol, take a look at the SS Great Britain.
This is one of the UK's greatest museums. It is a spectacularly successful telling of the story of this great vessel.
Brunel's masterpiece really well explained from its rescue and return back to Bristol from the Falkland Islands to its building and launch.
Has been 30 years since last visit. But worth the wait. Brilliant exebition with enthusiastic and knowledgeable crew. Will return soon as tickets valued for a year.
Was an awesome place, very informative, the museum is interactive and is a great place to visit for all ages
Lovely place, imaginatively done. Great exhibits, particularly liked the inside Brunnels head exhibition which is easily overlooked. The attention to detail is great. A stand out museum. Convenient parking close by reasonably priced. Lively cafe, has gluten free options.
Enjoyable visit with the kids (14 and 12). Even managed to get my daughter to enjoy it!
Fantastic insight to one of the true geniuses.
Brilliant guided tour
It's an amazing ship. Very interesting on board and underneath the hull.
Great historical attraction, tickets last a year so good for revisiting. We'll worth going.
