Great place to spend the day both as a family and on your own. The audio guide is free if you ask for it at the entrance. The staff is very friendly, they give talks during the day and they are characterized as in the time. The theme and how everything is mounted transports you completely in time.

Nice

Great place to visit. Loads to see & experience. Super displays with fake people to show what life on the ship was like. Authentic food smells. Can access all of the ship & even walk underneath to see the bottom of the ship too. Really great!

Nice day out Realy enjoyed the Boat. It was a bit unclean in places however it is a very old boat. When you but the ticket you have to buy it for a year so can't go back, not so usefull if your just visiting bristol as a one off, however if your intersted in the history I would definatly give it i hit very imforative signs and some nice scenes as well.

We had a fabulous family day out at SS Great Britain and the Being Brunel museum. It was very child friendly and we were surprised by how much there was to explore. We were here for about 4 hours and could easily have stayed longer. There was so much to look at and it was very educational. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day out. The SS great Britain was also accessible by pushchair, which made it great for my toddler too.

We also enjoyed tea and cake in the cafe and couldn't fault it. The service was great. The gift shop is delightful too, with all kinds of souvenirs on offer.

Always a fantastic trip to this world class attraction and iconic ship - this Christmas we were treated with a host of Victorian personalities - volunteers that bring the atmosphere of the old dock to life. A must see attraction and the best living maritime museum in the world.

Great place to spend day with the family. The ship is huge. The interior of the ship is very detailed, showing every aspect of life on ship (even smels). Outside the ship there is a gift shop, museums, coffee shops.

I remember as a child a rusting hulk rafted home to Bristol. I watched her being towed under the suspension bridge and for years saw the slow transformation as I went along Hotwells on Saturday mornings until I was 15 and then every day as I went to school. That rusting hulk is now a first class heritage site. A fantastic achievement to bring her home at all, before you step aboard. Absolute must do.

5 stars - great experience, very impressive restoration of this historical ship.
The displays inside the ship with waxworks really illustrate well what it might have been like to tavel on this ship. A huge difference between first class and steerage. Amazing to learn this ship has been around the world 33 times! The Brunel museum on the same site was also really interesting to find out more about the man. Sad to hear he passed away in his 50's, before the Clifton Suspension bridge was complete.
We spent 3 hours in total at the museum with kids 6 & 10. Parked nearby at the museum car park - note you'll get a discount on parking if you show your ticket at the museum. Allso note the Banksy Girl with Pearl Earing is in walking distance.

This was a 2nd visit using the ticket that lasts a year. There is so much to see because the Brunel museum alongside the ship is part of the visit. Everything is well presented and interesting.

All the staff are fantastic, the boat staff handled everyone with care and diplomacy and Eleanor and Jessfrom the gift shop helped us get a cab home. They really went beyond the call for us. Well run events with staff who know their onions.

Amazing experience, sights and sounds and smells of back in the day. Can buy a ticket for the year so you can visit as often as you want. Very good gift shop. Right on the harbour with lovely pubs

Would recommend to anyone, young or older. A truly great experience, informative and so very well presented. The reality of the conditions that people had to endure at sea in this era are put across very well both visually and atmospherically (smelly in places!), not forgetting the sheer genius that was Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Lots of activities for the children, and a climb up into the rigging if you're brave enough!

A good day out. A shame Bristol is so unwelcoming to campervan and motorhome drivers (no way we could have traveled here by car as its a 400 mile round trip). Couldn't even get into P&R to get bus in due to height barriers.

Amazing! Worth every penny! Allow yourself 3 hours to fully appreciate the excellent exhibition, the boat itself and the Brunel museum.
The details of the various scenes on the ship, are incredible! 4D experience!
I strongly recommend it. Not with toddlers though as they would spoil your own enjoyment!

Nice visit, the boat was designed by the same one who built the Clifton bridge, although the suspension bridge did better because the ship was the first to make the trip to Australia on steam, and four or five times that made it half it spoiled them, so they decided to leave it "parked", and now it's a lucrative business for the generations after the time, well, like everything here, very lucrative for them

Lovely place, imaginatively done. Great exhibits, particularly liked the inside Brunnels head exhibition which is easily overlooked. The attention to detail is great. A stand out museum. Convenient parking close by reasonably priced. Lively cafe, has gluten free options.

Suuper!
