Really great experience. Been round on many occasions for many purposes (commercial, research and pleasure) and the staff have always been amazingly nice and the exhibits and facilities hard to match. Well worth a visit!

Would have been I 5 star review as it is a great museum with lots of interesting and engaging features both within the ship and outside of it. However while I was there a private wedding was taking place on the ship meaning the entire 1st class section was closed off, about half the ship. I was still charged the same ticket price and I was not given any prior notice before paying that the wedding was going on resulting in me finding out by embarrisingly nearly walking into the middle of it.

Great place to visit. Went on a school trip. Friendly staff, with a great museum. If you can, try to visit the archive/library. Lots of amazing artefacts documenting the history of the ship, as well as the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge. Make sure to pick up a boarding card as well, as this adds to the day. You can use your phone to find out more about your character by scanning the QR code on the back. If you're in Bristol, visit the SS Great Britain for a full history of Bristol.

Brunel has always been a hero of mine, to explore one of his projects and put myself into the scene of the time was amazing. I didn't realise that Dr Who had a hand in the design - I'll swear that, like the TARDIS, it is bigger on the inside than the outside!

A must see for anyone interested in UK heritage. The new part of a visit to this incredible survivor of Victorian iron shipbuilding is called inside the mind of Brunel . It is easily missed as the entrance is on an upstairs landing in the Brunel museum so make sure to include it. It is really well conceived and will impress even the most expert as well as anyone new to the genius of I. K. Brunel.

A very interesting place to visit it is well laid out with lots of surprises to see on board, There is plenty of information and exhibits, if you can cope with Bristols appalling road system and practically useless public transportation system or extortionate parking charges then give this place a visit it is a splendid place to visit and very educational.

It's amazing to see how an old ship is restored to the current condition. They spend lot of money to preserve it. So the tickets are little pricey. However, the tickets are valid for one whole year. The dry dock below the water line is truly amazing. For the adventurists, you can climb all the way up the ship's mast!

Not many people are aware that SS Great Britain is also very busy wedding and event venue. I photographed number of weddings and events at SS GB since 2010 and it's truly the most unique wedding venue in Bristol area. On top of that event team is very professional and friendly. Overall winner for any event.

Easy to find and parking was reasonably priced very near. Excellent attraction, and seeing the preservation of the underside was intriguing.. loads to see and learn, spent a few hours looking around. Staff are on hand in period costume to interact with, and there are also guides to ask questions of. Cafe on site reasonably priced. All in all, good attraction..!

The Ss great britain is a beautiful ship. She had come long way from the time she was left on a beech to go rusty. To the present day where she sits on a dry dock and people. Go to to visit. And admire her beauty. Go and see the Ss great Britain. And pick up the history of this ship you want regret it.

What a fun and educational place to visit! Really well done. Got a great feel for the genius of Brunel and what it would be like to make a 2 month voyage across the sea. There s also a fantastic gift shop where I stocked up on related books. This is right on the waterfront and is family friendly. We spent several hours here exploring.

Well worth a visit, great exhibitions and a beautiful old ship... kids can climb the rigging... you look in the dry dock and all over the ship... very interesting history... the Brunel museum is also part of this attraction, again an excellent exhibition. It took me a couple of hours to look round, quite expensive admission, but worth it..

Really interesting historically significant monument. We didn't have time to take everything in but as return visits within the year are included, this wasn't a problem. We explored mainly on the ship, much of which has been restored and refitted as it would have been and it was fascinating. A live pianist and the moving engine parts added to the realism, whilst being able to view the ship from the dry dock have it a unique perspective. A great family visit.

Fascinating day out with the children, they learnt so much and had a great time exploring the ship. Once you've paid once you can go back again within a year which is well worth the money. Highly recommended!

Excellent early iron steam ship designed by Brunel. Brought back to the original dry dock as a rusting hulk in the 1970s. Now brilliantly restored to show how life was on board in the 19th century. Well worth visiting. Themed audio guides for adults and children.

Second time I've been there, this time after the new Brunel extension had been opened. We went with my Mum, family friend and our kids and can honestly say that there is always something new to do and entertain all ages. We particularly enjoying learning about and performing semaphore! Would recommend spending at least 4 hours going round. It's not cheap, but you can make unlimited repeat visits for a year for the entry price.

Spent hours on this great steel ship. Fantastic restoration of a great vessel that has had such a great life journey. Said to be the largest ship of her time and longest. Was rescued in the 1970s as a total rust heap. The journey of this remarkable ship and her story through time is clearly explained as you journey round this vessel. Take time to go below and see the remarkable engineering and construction of Brunel's design. Our tour was even more enhanced by the singing of shanty songs as sung by a local group who are here regularly. This great passenger ship is decked throughout in artefacts of its day. Be prepared to spend an interesting day here - and even then you won't have seen everything

Superb place to visit. Exhibitions very well set out and a huge amount of information available. Some of the information was brought alive by actors who engaged really well with the children. The staff are great and friendly and knowledgeable. The story of the ship is incredible and a little sad at times. You can see the effort and love people have put into the project. Entry price is reasonable and made even better in that it's valid for a year for limitless visits. Cafe is also good and well stocked. Carparking is difficult.
