What Toro is for Spanish food, SRV is for Italian. Specifically, northern Italian. Get 3-4 plates to share, and ask for a table on their patio if the weather is nice. The food has been consistently good, the vibe is chill (but can get a little hectic on weekends), and the whole experience is definitely above par, for Boston at least.

Great food with a steep price. If you have the time and are lucky enough to get a table, Oleana in Cambridge is a better pick. SRV had friendly staff, a great location and yummy eats.

Love this place. Got the arsenal menu, did not disappoint. Really good traditional pasta in a modern.

Service good. Food, extra small portions. Taste very neutral. High prices. The menu itself is hard to understand regarding what is going to arrive on your table after ordering. My main dish was this risotto, barely 8 ounces.

My favorite restaurant in Boston of the year. Their tasting menu is a must try and stress free, you don't have to think about what to order because they bring you some of their favorite dishes. The service is great, and in the summer there is a back patio which gets quite nice to hang out in.

It is rare that I have such a completely enjoyable dining experience. Food and service were top notch.

Union Oyster House which boasts to be the "Oldest restaurant in the country". We came in at around 1pm and were shown two different menus by the host and asked which one we would prefer to order from. I found this a bit odd but apparently that's the way it works as the full lunch menu is served upstairs, while the more bar food type of menu is served downstairs.

One of our favorites in all Boston! Perfect for dates and special occasions and entertaining visitors. Highly recommend the tasting menu and ask your waiter/waitress for wine pairing as well.

Gorgeous space, friendly/knowledgable staff, and the best food this side of the south end has ever seen.

The staff is so friendly and the food is so good!!! We did the $45.... They bring you out 10 different types of food from their menu things are normally not get but we loved it all it was awesome

They were very accommodating to me with my sodium restrictions. I had monkfish and gem salad. Both were excellent

My group had a lovely dinner here electing the prefix multi-course menu. The overall menu was overwhelming and would have cost us a fortune to get the same amount of food we got with the set menu. The staff were very nice and friendly and the meatballs were the best meatballs I've ever had hands down. I was hoping for a little slower pacing of the food after the super long wait it took to get it - but the pacing did not detract from quality of the product. The pastas and the other small bites were all so very tasty.

Went there for our son's college graduation without checking out the menu ahead of time, which was a mistake. We found nothing of interest on the brunch menu. The waiter offered a bowl of scramble eggs to share, which certainly didn't sound appealing. The drinks had classic names, but with unfamiliar types of alcohol. Since we have four hearty eaters in our midst, we decided not to stay for brunch and ate a pub down the street instead. In all appearances, SRV seems to be a chic, hipster restaurant. Subsequently, we happened to see a video on YouTube about everything wrong with a trendy restaurant and had a good laugh because it depicted SRV perfectly.

Amazing food, phenomenal wine list and wime service

Italian small plates. Really creative dishes and a staff that knows how to serve you a great meal. It's also very refreshing to get to try a large selection of Italian dishes that's not your typical pasta

Probably one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in Boston. Could not recommend enough. Was on the fence about coming during a snow storm but glad we did. The two of us at the table each did the chef's tasting menu and added a few things on to it. The highlights of the meal were the butternut squash and black truffle pasta (a must get), the octopus appetizer, the beef tendon, and the fried olives. Out of the ten or so things we tried did not find something we didn't love.

One of the best restaurants in Boston. I ve had the pleasure of going here a couple times, and both times have experienced an incredible array of Venetian style fare. The menu seems to always change, and every single item we have ordered here was delicious. The last time we were here we had a late reservation and weren t seated until ~45 min after our scheduled time (due to prior party). Naturally, we were a bit annoyed. However, the hostess and the rest of the staff were very cognizant of our unfortunate scenario and brought us some champagne. Once seated, we had a fantastic waiter who was witty and charming. He was entertaining and accommodating, provided great recommendations on food and wine, and brought us two of his favorite small plates on the house. Overall, this is the kind of restaurant that not only excels because of its excellent cuisine but also because of it s wonderful service, staff, and attention to detail. Looking forward to going back.

I would say that I was really quite disappointed with SRV. The review are great, the space looks nice, etc. We got the tasting menu, which I think is pretty good value. The starters and the middle-course items were quite good. My favorite was the beef carpaccio, which I thought was beautiful with great quality ingredients and a unique flavor profile. It was creative. The pastas I thought were a big disappointment-- they didn't have any of that great chew that I associate with handmade pasta at high-end restaurants. They had the texture of like soba noodles or pasta noodles I'd make at home. The langostine pasta also could've used an even richer shellfish flavor. Sad that it was a bit better is all.

Note that the dining room gets crowded and totally booked quickly. However, there is actually a number of bar seating or unreserved seating, so don't be discouraged by no reservation availability if you are a small party.

Srv is always good but last night was exceptional. Great food and fantastic staff. Went for tasting menu paired with orange wine and every course was sensational and as our fantastic waiter said the wine also got better and better.

Such a cute place. Food is so so so good! Only go here if you want to try something new and be totally satisfied! If you're a traveler it is a must visit.

Amazing. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. I would describe it as nautical chic. Cocktails were good. Food ranged from good to amazing. Wine list was decent. We ordered a couple snacks, 4 small plates and a large risotto dish. Perfect amount of food. It's not cheap, but it was worth it for a nice dinner out. Don't hesitate to go here.

I liked everything we ordered except the pastas it was not as good as I thought it is going to be, maybe it just needed more salt, other than that every thing else was so delicious!!

Great atmosphere and service. Italian small plates and tasting menu are they basis of this new South End restaurant's menu. Sharing is caring when it comes to the menu which features bite size snacks, apps and larger plates with a modern take on Italian. The food was very good with lots you'll want to try. Can't wait for the Summer when the large outside patio is open!

The tasting menu was fantastic. Our server seemed to not be on his game which probably would have affected the star rating more but luckily they hire a fixer who was paying attention enough to step in and correct course.

Check out the outdoor patio! Servers really know the wine and food menu well...

I have to say that hands down, this was one of the loveliest dining experiences I've had in quite some time. If I'm honest, it was in large part due to who I was with, but as far as things that SRV can control, it was perfect.

Our waitress was incredibly friendly, kind and helpful, and the food was absolutely top notch. I cannot recommend SRV enough.

Hottest new trendy/upscale place. Food and drinks are expensive, but as you would expect, and the cocktails are very creative and hit the spot. Really great food for special occasions or those nights when you need to treat yourself to an excellent cocktail after work. In the summer they open up the windows for a lovely breeze

Showed up at the bar prior to a show at the symphony. Service was prompt and friendly, and the daily vermouth selection was very tasty. The bar had a great atmosphere, and I appreciated that the refrigerators behind the bar were covered with a wooden facade - very classy. Portions were not large, but packed with multitudes of flavor, so big eaters should be prepared to spend a little more than usual, like most other tapas style restaurants.

One little detail that I really appreciate about a restaurant is when the food runner tells you about a few things on the plate they just set down - this is the roasted sunchoke, that's the bagna cauda etc. It's super minor, but the fact that the runners did this really elevated my experience.

Would definitely recommend this restaurant for easygoing bargoers and date nights.

We always have a great experience at SRV. I recommend the Arsenale menu, which is a delicious series of courses that they are always happy to modify to meet any dietary restriction.

This is one of those few restaurants where they have paid attention not just to the food and service, but also to the other details - temperature, lighting, noise, etc. - that make the whole experience enjoyable.

The tajarin is a must! It s difficult but save room for dessert. The tiramisu is a treat and the panna cotta has a soft, luscious texture that is complimented beautifully with grape sorbet.

Unbelievable. Ted Hawkins is the best General Manager. Every dish I have had is incredible. The meatballs, the sausage stuffed fried olives, the duck ragout. Try them all.

I think SRV hits it out of the park with their tiny bites (cicchetti) - some of my favorite visits have been sitting in the bar ordering from this menu and sampling their excellent wines (great options by the glass) and cocktails. The smoked ricotta frittelle in particular is fabulous - I could pop 10 of those (and might, on my next visit).

From the moment I walked in to the moment I was done eating everything was amazing. The service was attentive and quick. I had six different items to eat and each was magnificent in its own way. Will make sure to return if I am up this way again!

Celebrated a close friend's micro wedding here, and SRV did a great job helping things stay safe and distant, while also feeling social and enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful, working with us to make the event great. The drinks were very good and unique. The dishes were flavorful and fresh. We had a great time and really appreciated SRV making the event special.

This place is very beautiful, the food is author and very interesting !! I totally recommend the menu that has several dishes, in order to live the full experience.

Their cocktails are delicious, and their food is quite good. Food looks cheap up front, but the portions are so comically small that that the bill ends up higher than expected since so many get ordered.

Excellent service, atmosphere, food, desserts!!! And vermouth + classic Italian libations, cocktails and wine. I love this place fro any number of occasions, drink after theater or symphony, snack after work, dessert, or a full delicious dinner. I have been known to critique overly salted food, but I think that was a one off. Oh plus keep an eye out for cicchetti takeover dates, fun!

Good food, but we just weren't wowed by any one dish. Having so many small plates options was great, but the prices are a bit high given the quality and quantity. Ambiance is good, though again nothing extraordinary. Service at the bar was solid. All in all a good spot and worth a visit.

The sunchokes and stuffed mushrooms were worth seeking out. The bone marrow risotto was very buttery and garlicky--I liked it. The duck was tasty but the duck itself was hard to find/discern amidst the bread and other toppings. The mini calzones were not worth getting. The fried olives made up for that tho. The fortuna drink is definitely worth getting.

Superb amaro selection worthy of exploration. Great service. Desserts are super. The ginger and chocolate sorbettos particularly worthy.

Got the opportunity to try SRV due to a company dinner and had a pretty awesome. There were tons of drinks and tons of food so here we go...

For drinks; the Perpetual Rebel was my personal favorite. It was on the sweeter/citrusy side (which is how I prefer by drinks) but not too overpowering. Other favorites at the table were the #2 fairbanks and Il Postino. The Siege of Florence was very strong (probably because of Absinthe). the blanco negroni and aperol spritz were both very bitter and definitely the least favorite drinks at the table.

For food; the scallop crudo was a table favorite. I personally wasn't a fan because I don't enjoy beets. The halibut was very tasty just a little under seasoned. Lamb belly was incredible, the meat was super tender and melted in your mouth. The meatballs were incredible and so was the squid ink crostini with whipped cod. The strozzapretti and risotto were easily my two favorite dishes on the night.

Food is good. The back patio even better. One of the little gems of Boston. Try it!

One of the best restaurants in Boston, the food is out of this world and the service and atmosphere are amazing whether eating indoors or out on the front or back patios. If you want the full experience go for the Arsenale menu to enjoy a 10+ course meal of the most original dishes on this side of the Atlantic.

Excellent experience! The food is top-notch and the service can't be beat. I'd highly recommend the tasting menu, which gives you a great sense of the different types of food that are part of the menu.

If you want pasta, you go to SRV. If you want some of the best desserts in the city, you go to SRV. They also have an incredibly affordable tasting menu ($45 dollars I believe, what a steal!) We go here at least once a month.
