This place has fantastic food. The chef's tasting is a great way to try a little of everything, and is worth the cost if you're up for it. The space is designed beautifully (all the right details). There is also a diversity of seating which makes for a fun experience. The front has garage doors that open up to the patio which is IDEAL for good-weather-drinks. There is also a back deck for a more intimate outdoor experience. This is one of my favorite South End restaurants for sure!

We had the $45 tasting menu there after having enjoyed the $75 tasting menu at Giulia in Cambridge the evening before and the latter made for tough competition. SRV boasts stylish design, great cocktails, creative dishes, and at $45 a very competitive price on the tasting menu (we ended up sampling 10 different dishes). Everything was very good - however, to be fair to Giulia, none of the SRV dishes reached the "oh my God this is just so amazing" level. If you are looking for a nice Italian dinner in this part of town, I would highly recommend SRV, especially if you look for something a bit different from your run-of-the-mill Italian restaurant and would like to splash out on multiple courses without breaking the bank. However, if you are looking for the most amazing food in town, you may want to look at other options in town such as Giulia.

Came in with my boyfriend. Had an AMAZING experience from beginning to end. Our server, Lana, was the most amazing, knowledgeable, friendly person. We decided on the Arsenale and all of the dishes were impeccable! Definitely visiting again soon.

The food and service was good but I guess I had higher expectations for the pasta. We just didn't love the rissotto or the gnocchis. I would go back but maybe not for dinner just apettizers and drinks cause the place does have a fun and cool atmosphere.

SRV has a bunch of great cocktails and the service is outstanding. We ended up doing the tasting menu, which was delicious and full of variety. The tasting menu was also reasonable so I would definitely recommend it.

Loved the food, Vegetarian friend. Only thing I was disappointed was had gone there for wife's birthday and have informed in the reservation. was not expecting anything more but was hoping for just a candle when they brought the desert.

They were amazing in every way. They took our 9 pm reservation( the only one available day before),and moved it to 7:45 pm. I do not know if they had a cancellation or what but I am very thankful.
The food at SRV is delicious ever time. I have never been disappointed. I personally enjoy the unique flavors.

From the first moment you enter that restaurant the stuff gives you an agreeable feeling. Very congenial team, it is a lovely restaurant to enjoy with buddies or with your date. yummy cooking, professional chef, modest pay and nice service. Warmly recommended.

I ate here at a dinner for my company's partners. The courses kept coming with something like 11 courses, all of which were amazing. Service was also great (we were in a curtained off private area).

Second visit was as amazing as our first. The mini appetizers are tasty and fun, the pasta is perfect, the wines and cocktails on point. Service is attentive but not overbearing. The general manager stopped helped us select some drinks this evening, he is as knowledgeable and hospitable as you could possibly ask. From moments after you arrive, it s clear the place is very well run - a great experience.

Been there twice, and absolutely love this place. We got the fixed price tasting option - the arsenale, I believe? - both times, and it was just great. Shorter than a traditional tasting, but still set aside at least 90 minutes to enjoy yourselves. Great wine selection, too.

We went to SRV shortly after they were named in Boston's best. The staff were very friendly and were able to accommodate a last minute change to the reservation.

Atmosphere: 5/5
We we're lucky enough to sit outside in their outdoor courtyard area. The vine-covered exterior walls surrounding the courtyard, makes the outdoor area quite an awesome spot to dine. Highly recommend you try and sit outside.

Food: 3/5
We we're somewhat disappointed with the food. While it was by no means bad food, we just had high expectations based on the reviews. What stole the show for use were the appetizers. While small and expensive, they were the highlight of the night.

We had almost every pasta dish on the menu the night we were there. Most dishes were under-seasonsed which was a let down.

Overall, good experience at SRV.

Really impressive restaurant/wine bar all around. Excellent service/staff, good wine recommendations, and the tasting menu to share was just amazing. Oh I so badly wish I had taken photos of the incredible food here! Adorable deck in the back and nice waiting area plus room for private events in the front, so great place for all seasons & definitely loved the vibe for cozy wintertime ambiance. Gnocchi was just phenomenal.

Was in town to see an old friend in a show and this was the perfect spot for after show drinks and bites. Drinks were delicious. Food was tasty, and the staff was delightful. All of the employees seemed to love interacting with patrons and were very knowledgeable about menu items.

Food meh but great service and ambience. If you haven't been to Venice and had the opportunity to taste and experience authentic Venetian food, then you might think the cicchetti are over the top. You might think the piatti dishes are incredible. You might think the grani is sublime.

'Cept it isn't. They aren't. Precious at best. Overcooked, unseasoned, bland at worst.

This is a frustrating place to review. We had some excellent dishes but there were a few missteps. It wouldn't take much to get a higher rating. All the ciccheti were delicious except the coating on the arancini was overcooked and hard. The artichokes were outstanding as was the risotto. The service wasn't up to what I expect. Our server seemed distracted or not really helpful. The person who delivered our dishes described each dish but he walked away as he was finishing the description so we couldn't hear the end of what he was saying
That happened with each dish. Maybe it was because we were on the section near the serving station. Don't sit at one of these tables. It was chaotic there with 6 or more servers bustling about right next to our table. Hard to relax and enjoy your dinner if you're at one of these tables. Lastly, and this is one of the worst things that has happened to me in a restaurant, they delivered a salted cod ciccheti that we didn't order and the server said it was complementary and on the house. That was great except when the bill came, there was a $4 charge for the complementary dish. They corrected it when I pointed it out but something's not right when that happens. I hope to be back and have a better experience, but I will not sit at one of the tables near the serving station.

I thought the menu was a bit uppity and tough to understand but wading through it is worth it. The staff is very helpful and willing to explain anything. The food was quite tasty and very fresh. Our party ordered 5 plates and enjoyed them all. The music does not match... anything... but I liked the discord.

This food here is beyond compare. It was the highlight of my husband s birthday in Boston. Everything we tried was executed well. The risotto was perfection. There were a lot of vegetarian options available. We were very impressed and will be dining there again soon.

Delicious food and exquisite experience! I would recommend it highly for vegetarians as they have amazing options and are more than happy to tweak a few dishes from the menu to make them vegetarian. A casual chic place. Very slightly high end but completely worth it. Memorable dinner!

Wonderful experience! It was my first time dining in at this restaurant, Manuel was extremely helpful explaining the menu. I enjoyed the Baccala Mantecato as my top rated bite, dining room was dimly lit with a smooth cohesive atmosphere.

Absolutely fabulous! The food is delicious - I highly recommend doing the Arsenale option (chef s tasting menu). They were so nice about doing a vegetarian version for me but the normal version for my friend. It s a really fun selection of a bunch of different things. It left me full but not painfully stuffed. Plus the staff are so lovely!

A terrific restaurant with mouth-watering flavors carefully prepared and beautifully presented. It's not cheap but not "over the moon," either. Regardless, for a gastronomical treat, be sure and maker a reservation early. Great, delicious food. Fast and friendly service and nice ambiance. I have been looking forward to trying out this restaurant and it did meet the high expectations.

The patio seating is a must on a good day.
The pasta is great, the pesto gnocchi was delish and so was the monkfish. The dessert was excellent.
The squash blossoms needed some seasoning or herbs... a little too bland.
The service and the overall ambiance in the main dining room were average.

Thank you for having us yesterday night. We tried the tasting menu called "Arsenale menu" and it was the best thing ever. A full course till desert. The plates kept coming and were delicious. We did not like two of the dishes, surprisingly they replaced them by other ones. Great ambiance, very clean and nice spot, top notch staff, efficient and courteous service, clean bathrooms. One of the best place in Boston. We will definitely come back.
