Excellent place for dessert! Very close to Mass Ave. Great ambiance.
SRV is a great dining experience in the South End. From start to finish you will enjoy yourselves, from the food to the atmosphere it is all great.
Reservations are usually necessary on Friday and Saturday, but you might get lucky if you walk in early enough. In the summer they typically have their back patio open, as well as some outdoor street seating, which will open up more tables to choose from.
The food always impresses, and they update their menus often so you ll always be able to try something new. Their pasta is absolutely incredible, and they re very knowledgeable in the melding of seafood into these dishes. Their wine list is also rather extensive, which adds to the experience. The atmosphere is great, modern accents with exposed brick makes for a great combination that is new and inviting. This is a great staple in the South End and I look forward to dining again.
Really good. Excellent Italian dishes to share. Beautiful area. The team is welcoming and pleasant. Is not a "tourist hatch". Very recommended!
I love SRV. The food, the ambiance, the staff. It never fails to impress. It may be the best restaurant in Boston. Tonight was no exception.
Stumbled upon this gem. Every dish we had was outstanding. We started with chopped salad, fried artichoke and misto. Holy moly. Every bite amazing. Had the garanazelli pasta. Awesome. But the chestnut risotto was the dish. Can t say enough about how awesome it was. Highly recommend.
Plates are small and a bit pricey, but I will say the food is phenomenal. Still worth the 5 stars.
I had a longer post describing exactly what happened, but I have decided it isn't really needed. What I can say is that we had an incredibly rude server. I would hope that this isn't the norm, but rather an anomaly. I will perhaps try SRV again, as the few bites we did have were good, but I couldn't believe how our server was speaking to us.
Love this place. Went with friends and had a great time. The staff is truly pleasant and ready to make it a remarkable experience. The food is high quality and very good. You will remember the experience for a long time. The prices are truly reasonable for the high quality of food. They play awesome music, just right for any occasion. What a place to have a birthday party or date. She will fall in love with you just for choosing this special place. Because of the waiter I ate snail for the first time in my life. Everything he assured me of it was and more. I Love this place! You will not be disappointed.
It's a good place to eat with family. The food came out quicker than I expected, and it tasted divine. Good stuff all around. All in all, very tasty.
They have a good potential. The selection of drinks are really good but they need some more options as food. The kitchen is open which make us comfortable with the cleaning. It is worthwhile to try the lobster risotto... and have some patience to wait for the food.
Cool atmosphere, helpful knowledgeable staff and tasty food. We liked everything we had here and will definitely be back.
A short menu, executed perfectly. Nuanced flavors, fantastic drinks and impeccable service.
The atmosphere is cozy, relaxed, yet classy. The decor is minimalistic meets tiny pops of excentricity! The dishes are creative and unique!drinks well made and service fantastic!Highly recommend coming here!
Me and three of my friends were looking forward to spending our last night together by getting a nice dinner at SRV. When we walked into the establishment we immediately felt unwelcome. We saw many empty tables and were instead offered to sit at the bar. Only after an uncomfortable interaction did we get offered a seat at one of the many empty tables. When we were seated it took a while for us to get help. Once we did our waiter decided not to take care of us and instead handed us off to another waiter. That was the best decision of the night. Our new waiter was incredible. He was very courteous and attentive. The food was very good.
Despite having a terrible host; our waiter and the food made up for it.
Lots of culinary variety, all of which is exquisite.
Great place to dine. We did a Tasting course menu prepared by the Chef. The portion was perfect. Price is fair. You get more what you paid for. The food including the pasta is off the chain. The service was excellent. Highly recommended.
Was there for a corporate event that included chilren. They brought out enough food for about half the kids. The older kids ate. The little ones didn't. When pointed out, they some how thought it was acceptable to say the rest of the kids have to wait until after the 140 or so adults are fed. The kids that didn't eat were 4 and 5 years old. After losing my mind and my kid loses his (watching other kids eat), I'm offer fried olives and a plate of meatballs.
Take your events somewhere else.
One of the best restaurants in the South End! Absolutely fantastic food, service and drinks. I keep coming back
Great place to enjoy small plate cooking and brunch
Amazing ambiance, delicious wine, great service, good food.
Fantastic food and great hospitality in a hip space.
Excellent italian food and great wine. Recommend the tasting menu.
Quaint place offering innovative Italian dishes. The prix fixed menu is great. We were able to do slight modifications because we didn't like olives. The portions were small, but the price point is attractive. Extensive Italian wine list. Friendly atmosphere.
I think personally for myself, the dishes were a bit too innovative because we were looking for a more authentic Italian meal.
Such a great dining experience, and thar includes the food
Great food and service. We had a great time. Definately worth a stop in town for.
One of the best Italian meals we've had anywhere in the world. Delicious!!
Did the tasting menu. No regrets, everything was fabulous!!! Especially the gnocchi. Also, the service was outstanding.
Great casual after work place, great spicy shrimp pasta
Wow! Very creative small plates, friendly staff, surprisingly affordable.
Excellent service. Staff was informative and helpful. We had 3 adults and a baby carriage . One vegetarian. Good mix of foods for all.
Truffled risotto and tortelli incredible; skip the ricotta gnudi (flavorless to an extreme). Great service.
Amazing food. Back patio has a great atmosphere and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.
Awesome restaurant! The food, ambience, and service were all excellent. Very creative and tasty dishes. The small servings at cheap prices allow you to taste a large variety of different things. Service was quick, informative, and attentive. A nice selection of wine and cocktails as well. One of the best dining experiences I've had in recent memory.
Save room for dessert - we ordered tiramisu and the texture and taste is like no others! It s a large size, good for sharing too!
Expensive,tart was not fresh,drinks were small.So disappointed
One of the best dining experiences in Boston! Delicious food and drinks.
Food are really great, the servers are great
I highly recommend this place to everyone
Best meal in Boston. Been coming here for special occasions for 3 years now and the tasting menu never disappoints. Can t recommend highly enough
Absolutely incredible. The attention to detail is unsurpassed. Other restaurants need to take a lesson.
We had some good thing and some ok things. Service was awesome. We really loved the potatoes small plate they recommend. It was delicious.
Can't fault anything with this place. Beautiful decor, amazing cuisine and passionate staff. It was a lucky find for us as we are just spending a few nights in Boston.
Words can t capture how cool this establishment is. The food, staff, music.. everything is on point.
I had wine and my friend had the drink in the picture, which I have to say I also should have ordered - was very refreshing. The service was definitely good, casual with interest . The food was like I had made it home, particularly the main dish. The Dessert I ordered was a bit random, but I am not into sweets so that may be just me. Hope to visit next time and try new things - oh and the atmosphere is actually nice, though our seat was not in the best spot.
I could not have asked for a more wonderful experience. Right away our server Nate set the tone for the night. His service was excellent and offered great insight into our drinks/food. We opted in the the Arsenale menu, which is like a Prix Fixe but you don t get to see the menu first. Our favorites were the muscles, fancy sausage corn dog, and of course the pastas.
We haven t been out much since the pandemic hit and we re so glad we came out for this. We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary!
Great atmosphere, great wine list, delicious food. We ate at the bar, where you can get the full menu.
A creative and fun Italian small plates restaurant. Delicious flavors, creative menu and excellent wine list are all reasons to eat here. So it's the service, Lydia was great with us. Tip: leave room for the decadent dessert.
Wonderful food, knowledgeable and friendly staff, well- designed space.
Love the food and Nathaniel is a fantastic waiter very knowledgeable and cordial
Food is overall good but lacks some creativity and attention to details. We had the tasting menu but they had two dishes featuring the same ingredient - cauliflower, and their octopus tasted a little fishy. Everything else was tasty.
Not cheap, but great service and great selection of food and wine - they were helpful and flexible about dietary restrictions, too. Nice atmosphere!
We love SRV, the food is always original, tasty and succulent. Their small portions are fun and so international. One of the best restaurants in Boston!
Very good dinner. Wait staff are eager and very informative. Food was delicious! Cocktail was good, too.
Such an amazing restaurant with top class service. Went with family on our anniversary and they made us feel special. Their pizzas are super delicious. Ordered a pineapple pizza, Lasagne and risotto. They complimented the food with their selection of wines. An advice try their tiramisu if you visit. Thanks guys for making it special.
It's fine. The food isn't really good enough to justify the posh atmosphere and the prices.
Wow. Outstanding tasting menu of Venice-inspired cuisine.
We ordered the tasting menu called Arsenale. Excellent. Surprising flavors. Beautiful decoration and not too noisy.
Great wine list. Italian share plates are a nice alternative to tapas.
Really interesting Italian menu, with small, medium, and larger pasta plates. The pasta is homemade and was perfectly cooked. Food was delicious in general and the patio area in the back is very nice as well.
SRV was first recommended to me by the concierge at the hotel where I was staying whilst looking for houses in the Boston metro-area last year. Fast-forward one year and one international move later and I was finally in the position to dine here. And what a meal it was! I ordered the rabbit risotto and paired it with an exquisite pinot noir. The risotto was cooked to order which was a nice surprise and well worth the wait. My thinking in ordering the rabbit was that in my home country, the eating of a fresh rabbit can bring good luck upon the consumer. My luck has improved steadily ever since eating the risotto so I can safely say that the risotto here is not only delicious, but lucky too!
As a side note, I have been looking to purchase the same silverware found in the dining room at SRV as it has a nice feel in the hand and gives the impression of durability. It would make a nice addition to my new kitchen.
Oh no! My phone jumbled around in my backpack and accidentally left a 1 star review I'd like to set the record straight here..
The staff, food, beverage- everything is outstanding. The space is beautiful and very well equipped to handle a party.
Highly recommended!
Food is great. The long tables might discourage lively discussion though.
Incredible food! Went with a large group for a birthday and had the "family style" menu. Great atmosphere. We spent about 3 hours eating!
Great selection of wine, absolutely stellar food and attentive service.
Good drinks. Very friendly people. I did not eat any food just got drinks. Odd choice in music though.
Overpriced Italian small plates. The food was mediocre and not worth the money. If this place was on Newbury, I'd understand the prices but it's in the South end. They also aren't kidding when they say that the small bites are small - It's like half a bite of food. The drinks are good so maybe just come for drinks. The service wasn't bad, but the servers got a little overboard with reminding us every single time that our next plate of food didn't have any potential allergy for one of my friends.
Had some of the best food and best service I have ever had here. Compliments to the whole team at SRV. We came on a weeknight and stayed for a long time never felt rushed, ordered as we felt like we wanted more, it was great. I appreciated that when we ordered dessert and found the tiramisu wasn't to our liking, a manager noticed from across the room and came by to check in did not charge us for it and asked for feedback. This is a great place to mark a special occasion or just to treat yourself. (It is expensive! But worth it for the right occasion).
The menu is exquisite with the perfect portions to sample many dishes. It's crowded so you need reservations. Waiting staff is top notch!
Great customer service. Beautiful environment. Old school 90's Hip-hop.
What an amazing place. My wife s coworker convinced us to try it even though we had a select choice of other restaurants in mind. But wow what a simple yet extraordinary, it was like an adventure with the taste buds with every delicious bite. This is a must try.
Ordered the Arsenal menu for the table. Able to accommodate 4 omnivores and a vegetarian effortlessly. And the food was plentiful and DELICIOUS! Impeccable service as well!
First time here, really enjoyed it. Great interior decor and solid atmosphere. Bartender was super friendly and helped us with recommendations. We had 4 small bite orders from the bar, and we would order each of them again:
- Prosciutto with balsamic, parmesan, and something fried (Gnocco Frito)
- Potato with red onion & truffle - really delicate with a creamy potato finish
- Oxtail arancini with pumpkin
- Garlic Crostini with anchovy & tomato - probably our favorite
Finished off with a Honey Nut Squash dessert, which I didn't know was a thing but I'm glad it's a thing. Delicious! Also, order from their Amaro list with dessert, alot of options I don't see often in other bars and solid recommendations from our bartender.
This dinner restaurant was first class all the way. Truely great! All of our dishes (7) were excellent both in terms of taste, quality, quantity and presentation. Both Ted and Hanna were awesome. Everyone was very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere was Boston fushion. So cool! I wish they served lunch! More good things to come.
* Our waitress was cold to us and didn t smile once
* Took 15 minutes to get one glass of red wine
* The House bread was 2 tiny pieces of brown bread- no cream/ olive oil or anything came with it.
* The MonkFish we ordered was over cooked and the fish it self was tasteless!
* The Risotto with bone-marrow, I was embarrassed to ask where is the bone marrow
in the dish but by than we where already done and decided to leave.
* Nice atmosphere but definitely will never come back there again
Not welcoming when we attempted to walk-in. We looked at the host and turnaround... prejudice
